hotel heeft behoorlijk onderhoud nodig zowel binnen als buiten Ontbijt heeft weinig keuze De bedden bij het zwembad erg onstabiel , er waren zelfs gasten die eraf vielen Hoop geld voor paar dagen voor deze kwaliteit

Le personnel est très accueillant et disponible. La piscine est absolument magnifique, avec une vue splendide, ainsi que le parc pour y accéder. Le petit déjeuner est complet et de qualité. L'emplacement est idéal si vous voulez être dans le centre mais tout de même être au calme et éloigné de l'agitation.

La chambre est un peu vétuste mais reste très confortable et bien équipée.

Poolområdet var helt klart höjdpunkten samt läget precis runt hörnet till huvudgatan.

Slitet överlag, behövs underhåll. Gamla slitna möbler, väggar golv och något unken doft i korridor.. Extremt lyhört och det enda ställe vi bott på i Italien som haft dåligt kaffe.

It’s centrally located and the views and grounds are spectacular! A true oasis!

The AC was not great!

The hotel is in a great location and overall we had a really nice stay.

We have an issue with the shower .every time we used it, water leaked all over the bathroom and flooded the room. We asked for it to be fixed, and someone did come to clean everything up, but unfortunately the actual problem wasn’t fixed, so it kept happening.

Magnifique bâtiment avec une piscine superbe. Localisation impeccable (dans le centre). Très bon petit déjeuner. Personnel très professionnel.

Les équipements sont vétustes et notamment la climatisation qui ne fonctionnait pas correctement (nous avons eu chaud). Dommage pour un établissement de standing.

La ubicación y la vista son geniales, la piscina extraordinaria.

Le hace falta una modernización, la TV es muy chica.

WTF!!! why would these 2 MORONS try to embarrass the Families with such a beautiful hotel, location and investment. Everything was perfect until this moment . @ thugs managed to shame all of Sicily in this one moment.

Amazing hotel. Perfect location with views of Mt Etna and the sea. Large comfortable rooms. Best pool area ever with views of Mt Etna and the sea with beatiful green surrounding providing plenty of shade. Gazebo-like lunch/bar area by the pool.

Limited parking. Fortunatly, the superb hotel staff parked it for us in a nearby garage so we did not have to worry about it.

Beautiful and convenient setting. Fabulous views across to Mount Etna and down to the coast. Relaxed elegance. Fabulous swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff.

El horario de la piscina (09h-18h)teniendo en cuenta que he ido en verano esperaba que estuviese disponible hasta mucho más tarde.

The position

Very old, needs renovation. Too bad for the amazing location.

The pool area is beautiful and the pool and breakfast staff were very attentive and super friendly.

The room was uncomfortably small and dated. There were no plugs by bedside table and bathroom was so small you could wash your hands while sitting on the toilet. Air conditioning system very noisy and not efficient making for an uncomfortable stay.

Location was great. The architecture of the building stunning. And staff was friendly, fast and ready to assist.

So we booked the room from 7. August till 10.August in Excelsior Pallace hotel. Due to mount Etna eruption our flight was cancelled and we came one day later. We called the hotel and gave them notice about situation. The hotel gave our room to somebody else but that didnt stop them to charge us for that night. When we arrived the day after we got another room without balcony. On the 10.august we received the message from our airline that our departure flight has been also cancelled so we kindly ask to stay one more night and of course they charged us that night too. But at the end with lot of negotiations like 2 hours with them they gave us small discount on last night. Overall not a nice experience. They have to be prepared like situations like this living next to volcano and expecting that guest can be prevented from coming on time and not to be punished for that like its our fault! And also one thing , for a four-star hotel, I would expect a higher standard of service and much friendlier, more attentive staff.

Was rather tired. Whilst I understand the ‘old charm’ and history of the place, fixtures and fittings and furniture are old and tired and need modernisation as do the bathrooms.

Der Empfang war bereits sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend und das blieb so die 5 Tage. Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig. Und überhaupt. Taomina selbst hat uns sehr positiv überrascht.

We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel’s perfect location, but the beautiful pool truly made our stay special. It captures the atmosphere and charm of Taormina perfectly and made the whole experience feel complete. Great breakfast, very kind staff, and an overall wonderful stay. We would definitely come back!

It was very comfortably situated before entrance of the main centre in Taormina.. The rooms were huge, comfortable and bathroom was excellent. Amazing views of Mt Etna and the sea etc. A very good breakfast with many choices to choose from. I highly recommend this hotel, I would definitely return without hesitation. You can drive up and they will move car to parking area if needed as limited spots available & parking is included

The property has a good location in Taormina for restaurants and shopping

I had emailed the property to let them know I would be celebrating a very important birthday and asked them for help making some reservations. I had no response. So I tried again and still zero response. When I mentioned this at check in the man just shrugged his shoulders at me, like oh well. There was one lady Simone who actually helped me to figure out a day trip by train and she was very helpful. Breakfast and pool staff were friendly enough as was the bell boy.

Our party of 14 had a wonderful stay and the service from Angela and Rosie was excellent. We hope to come back soon

Great location and pool are was unreal. Hard to find that much space in Taormina. It was nice to escape the crowds and heat around the expansive pool area.

The hotel is pretty dated.. which adds to the vibe and experience - just be prepared.

Perfect location, friendly and service oriented staff, the pool is amazing, fantastic view of Mt. Etna, the food was excellent and price well!

The AC was not as cold as we wanted. And there is a flaw on the bathtub/shower that water runs out from the bathroom door to hallway which can cause to rot the wooden floor.

המלון ההיסטורי, במיקום מושלם. מציע חוויה ייחודית בטעם של פעם. היתה לנו בעיית מיזוג ב2 החדרים, אך החדרים הוחלפו צוות הקבלה ובמיוחד הפקידה סימונה היו אדיבים יעילים ומקצועיים וסיעו בכל שאלה. הבריכה קצת מרוחקת מהמלון, אך מושלמת מכל בחינה גודל ,נופים , צל ושירות. מסעדת הבריכה פחות טובה. יש מקום לרענון המלון, אך שווה לשמור על האופי, והרהוט. חדר האכל נקי מחודש אך לא בטעם טוב.. ארוחת בקר טובה ומגוונת. נחזור

We keep coming back here. It’s an oasis of traditional elegance, tranquillity and Sicilian beauty, in the heart of Taormina. The large pool, surrounded by a stunning vegetation and breathtaking views, is probably our favourite part of the hotel. The breakfast is lovely, beautifully served, and offers plenty of choices. The service is just exquisite, really classy, we must mention Angela as she has been literally spoiling us during our stay, her attention to details and customer care skills are second to none. The hotel is superbly managed by a woman director and you can see her feminine elegant touch throughout. There are many hotels in Taormina but only one Excelsior. We will be back …

The hotel is a bit tired. We went as part of a coach tour which included dining. Unlike standard guests, we were allocated seating in a room downstairs away from everyone. We stayed at 3 hotels, and the Excelsior was by far the worse food, quality and taste wise. Reception staff did not appear happy, and one lady was quite rude to my wife, who in mid-conversation turned and dealt with another customer (she obviously was not happy that we were reporting that our air conditioning (in room 036), was not working. Pool good with lots of shade, but about 5 to 10 minute walk from the hotel. Lucky to get a 3 blob rating, only because of its excellent location.

Property is a bit outdated, but everything was clean and looked like the photos. Property didn’t warn us that low profile cars and big cars would not fit in their garage

Amazing location close to shopping, great restaurants and amazing views everywhere from our room to the patio to the pool. Pool is huge with both sun and shade depending on your preference. Old world charm. Helpful staff.

The poolside cafe is decent at best.

The room is spacious, beautiful, clean and comfortable. The pool area is chilling and beautiful, with the most stunning view of the sea and mt Etna. Overall, the hotel has a bit of a resort feel to it. The breakfast was good, and we loved Angela who’s been extremely friendly and helpful at the breakfast.

If anything, the breakfast was not in the restaurant with a view.

De ligging is perfect. Het zwembad is echt heerlijk met prachtige uitzichten. Personeel is vriendelijk. Lunch bij het zwembad was erg goed. Fijne kamer en badkamer.

Ontbijt duurde tot 10:30 maar voor 10:15 werd het koffiezetapparaat schoongemaakt en gesloten. Bij navraag hebben we nog wel extra koffie gekregen.

Highly recommended! The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Taormina, making it easy to explore the town on foot. The Ancient Theatre is just a 20-minute walk away. Our room was spotless, and the sea view was absolutely stunning. The bathrooms are modern and well-appointed. While you can occasionally hear some noise from neighboring rooms, it was minimal and nowhere near as disruptive as some reviews had suggested. The pool area is exceptional, offering breathtaking views and plenty of sun loungers to relax on. The staff were warm, professional, and always helpful. The on-site parking (€15 per day) was also extremely convenient. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Taormina.

Food at the restaurant was pretty bad. It was expensive, not variety no taste. Hotel was very expensive for what it offers. There are much better alternatives in Taormina

Fantastic resort property. The gardens and cliffside pool were the highlight of this property. Hotel is located in the heart of Taormina but also feels quite secluded. Gorgeous views. Enjoyed the hotel bar for nightcaps. Staff was great in accommodating our request to stay an additional night.

A/C didn't work well. Summer months are probably more challenging to keep cool. Poolside menu is somewhat limited.

La habitación horrible, descuidada, vieja, el baño un espanto, los escaños comunes del hotel igual de viejos y feos

La struttura è una vecchio hotel ma è molto confortevole e le persone dello staff sono tutte molto gentili le camere molto spaziose ma un po’ datate comunque sono stato molto bene la colazione buona sempre con persone molto gentili

Property is quite outdated and stuffy. The breakfast was disappointing in terms of service and offering and is located in the basement despite there being a really nice seating area upstairs.

Hotelul este amplasat excelent. Are o piscină foarte frumoasă cu o priveliște impresionantă. Gradinile sunt deasmenea superbe. Este curat .Angajatii sunt foarte amabili.

Intelegand ca se doreste a fi pastrat farmecul acestuia dpdv istoric, mobilierul camerelor este totusi extrem de vechi, la fel si sitemul de ventilatie/incalzire. Etc .

Everything !! Stunning location with great access to centre of town , and also able to escape the tourist crowds in the beautiful terrace, gardens and pool.

Our most notable experience here at the hotel is our waitress, Angela. She is very welcoming when we come down to breakfast. Angela goes out of her way to make you feel at home. She even helps me with speaking Italian correctly.

Great location overlooking the Taormina bay, offering a big park with a beautiful pool, good restaurant and bar. All staff is extremely friendly, but the best experience is starting the day with the delicious breakfast buffet served by warm-hearted Angela and her team!

The location was fantastic, right at the edge of the old town. The room was spacious with a great view of Mount Etna. Breakfast was good, especially the pastries but I wish they would open earlier (breakfast starts at 7:30). They had very nice outdoor areas.

There were no USB connections in the room. The pillows were not very comfortable.

First impressions are of a grand aristocratic hotel, lots of artefacts and historic photos , then it goes wrong. The hotel has been kept in a time warp. Very dated and shabby. Rooms in need of a massive renovation, dull decor, one plug socket, leaky shower onto the floor, powdered milk, wooden sticks to stir hot drinks. Breakfast was mixture of good and bad. The room very clean and bright, plenty of pastries, coffee, fruit. On the other hand hot food cold, if you want fried egg, other than cold scrambled that’s on offer then it costs €5 extra. After debating with a very surly waitress she produced a menu from somewhere stating that this was extra. The staff on reception are very helpful, even moved us when the cigarette smoke from our next door neighbours came through the adjoining door. The location is perfect, the view was good however I would not have put our room in the deluxe category it was supposed to be. Overall I wouldn’t go back to this hotel, maybe if it had a major upgrade, but there will be someone out there that just might like this kind of place.

Splendida vista sul mare e sull'Etna, personale cortese e un ringraziamento speciale al nostro barman Lucio. La sua professionalità, la sua gentilezza e la sua grande capacità di relazionarsi con le persone hanno reso il nostro soggiorno bellissimo.

Le proposte per la cena, per un soggiorno di 7 notti, risultano un po' ripetitive. La freschezza degli ingredienti potrebbe essere migliorata.

That hotel doesnt use their pool, garden, pool restaurant and restaurant potential - there are so many tourist coming by and you dont catch them to stay with for example a aperol offer. Also breakfast area should be transfered to restaurant area.

Location is brilliant, hotel is full of old world charm. Room was nice, great views.
