Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are adequate and the breakfast was good.
There are no dislikes about the property but Southport council needs to address the licensing issues of the local bars playing loud music until 4:30am. The staff are aware of the problem but the council has its head in the sand. Such a shame for the surrounding businesses.
Were it is and food was good value
Bar closes at between 10 and 11

Check in was quick and easy with a pleasant receptionist. The room was very clean and spacious with two single beds and a large bathroom with shower. It was very quiet in the hotel and I only saw four or five people throughout my stay. The hotel itself is located on the busy Lord Street and is very close to public transport and shops, restaurants, etc. The hotel has a pub attached to it which I heard no noise from. There is however a pub 3 doors (Auld Dubliner) down which was very busy. It was a bit noisy on the Friday night at closing time but this soon died down. Southport has many good pubs and restaurants all probably within a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I visited the Auld Dubliner pub a couple of times. It is a modern pub with very friendly staff and a decent selection of beers.
Nothing much. The directions to some of the room numbers was slightly confusing when first checking in.

Good location
The room was very smelly
We had a room we did not like, withing half an hour we was in a room with a four poster bed. Tv would not come on, we did not care we had laptops a decent wifi signal. Staff nice and friendy, very relaxed stay,
Not a lot, first nigh was noisy, after that was fine,
The location
We where right by a club playing music till 3 clock in the morning then people coming out shouting not talking we,asked for a different room which staff where happy to do
All
.
Cheap and cheerful
Lift old scary for me
Location
Room had very musty odour. Woman on desk on arrival was not very helpful. Basically stated my room was not ready and she had no idea when it was going to be and I had reservations and had to get ready in a friend's room, which impacted their stay.
Location
Very basic not very clean
nice rooms, lift, good position in town
nothing
bar staff great don i think his name was
when we went to check in waiting 5 mins till he got off his phone sitting behind the reception
Nothing
Everything room was above the pubs with 2 small children music load until early hours
Oh and there was no heating on.
The only thing that was really good was the breakfast!
Scruffy furniture, Dirty inside radiator ( black) we got half of a toilet roll! Only 1 bath towel for 2 adults and 3 tiny ones. Hardly any staff anywere . The picture of the hotel on Google was next to The atkinson theatre, bit it wasnt, it was over the road so we were lost , driving round and round!
I didn't have breakfast
Like it's central to everything
Just noisy on that side building with nightclub
Great location near bars and shops
No bar open due to staff shortage had my baby grandson with me so couldn't go to other bars but apart from what everything else was fine
It was the good location I had my two young boys with me and I found it really easy to get too and from arcade’s,boating lake, park etc without a car. The television was big enough and the bath was a luxury we had top time larr.
I put my rucksack on top of the wardrobe out the way was a bit dusty in the morning but everything else was clean.
Location
Staff not helpful, loud music until late at nite, dirty carpets in walk ways - items in rooms eg lamps thick of dust ( no joke / look like it hadn't been cleaned for years
Location
Slow lift
Location in Southport is great, it's right in the centre of town. Bathroom was clean and actually proved to be the best part of the room.
DIsturbed by all-night noise from clubs at the rear of the property. Room was like a sauna, so we had to choose between heat or noise. The bed was uncomfortable and needed to be changed/replaced. The bedding smelled weird. The car park to the side of the hotel was completely disorganised and like someone had thrown toy cars into a space and hoped for the best.
Lovely place nice lounges and bar great location
Only two milks and teas
location, nice staff member on duty
beds was filthy
Turned away at property and still they never cancelled my booking an took the money anyway, told me there was no rooms available and still took the money
The location was perfect for us
The man on reception was a bit rude like he didn't want to be there
Old and tired , beds hard window broke so was kept awake till 3am both nights due to a nightclub below , husband had to sleep on a chair due to uncomfortable bed, only one towel for two people , never again will we stay here and won’t be recommending
It was value for money and ideally located
Noise. Had to ask for clean towels as there was no room service.
good location
Location
Loud music till early hours
Location was great, hotel not so great would not recommend
The room was awful, dated, dirty, smelly and damp, the window handle had snapped so had the safety clip so unable to close the window checked out after we saw the room, the whole hotel needs a facelift, staff were unhelpful and didn’t care we were checking out early
Location
Slow lift
Ceiling was leaking the room stunk of damp it was freezing cold an so loud outside with doors banging all the time and people screaming
How friendly the staff are a and can have a laugh and relax and enjoy your stay
Nothing it was perfect
The location of the Hotel is great. It is central to most things.
There isn't anything we didn't like.
Nothing
They didn't have a room for us because of a so called major maintenance issue. We were told they had no other rooms and it was a bank holiday. She just handed me the phone with a few other hotels.no chance. We had to drive home. Wasted £260 in pre booked attractions. Still haven't had a penny back off booking.com
The venue has an old world charm which is particularly endearing
The beds are awful and the windows do nothing to keep out the dreadful row from the local rock bar which goes on far too late.
Room had no windows and no fresh air room 424 stay away!!!
No fresh air and was told like it or lump it. Terrible attitude from the customer service team.
The location and the bed was comfy
The double room was tiny, as in the door almost hit the bed when entering the room. The window towards the carpark in the middle, was filthy inside and out, we had room 115 on the first floor. It was also full of small flies, like fruit flies. I thought maybe they're coming in from the window, but the window wouldn't even shut and lock properly. There was a double door next to our room leading to another corridor, which whenever anyone passed through it, it slammed so hard against the wall that the bed rocked, it was a constant annoyance as was the loud music from Maloneys bar downstairs which went on until after 2am.

The location was good
Room was very small small bathroom
The location was absolutely perfect smack bang in the middle of Lord st
Can't honestly think off anything enjoyed my stay with my sister and will definitely be back
It was a great hotel in amazing location. I believe everything was great. I think they must provide some fan for hot weather.
Staff, tidy room comfy bed
The room was ridiculously hot with a broken fan. And its right outside i nightclub that's open till 4am its like the music was on in the room i got no sleep what so ever
The lady at reception was lovely
We arrived to our room and there was pizza boxes and pizza chucked everywhere from the previous people who stayed in it. Flies everywhere in room
Paying everything by card
Entertainment
Wifi was terrible, I stayed on 4th floor previously and not a problem, this time I was on the 1st floor and it was terrible, raised this at reception, who agreed it was not good at all, but basically brushed off my inquiry as, nothing we can do, quite rudely. I wasn't very happy with that, due to the fact I stay regularly at britannia hotels and staff are a lot more polite and helpful.
Nightclub next door kept me awake all night
Comfortable enough, reasonable accommodation.
Our stay was altogether spoilt by the unacceptably loud music from adjacent live music venue playing until the early hours. Staff understood but were unable to change rooms so we checked out.
Good location
Noise from the bars in the side street
location to sea side
right next to bar 13 noisy chips under the bed
Just stayed to attend sessions and hotel met our needs. Was basic but for what we paid it was good. Staff good. Rooms clean
All good.
I liked it had a private bathroom.
I didn't like the window as it was very warm in the room and I couldn't sleep as rain was coming through window and the window sill was dirty with pigien mess .
