Hotel van te voren gereserveerd voor twee nachten. Bij aankomst was er blijkbaar geen kamer beschikbaar en kregen wij met veel moeite in het aangrenzende zuster hotel een kamer in om na de eerste nacht weer het ibis in te gaan. Geen informatie gekregen over uitcheck tijden of ontbijt. Onze koffers hebben wij bij het ibis gelaten om in de avond weer bij hun in te checken. Hier hebben wij om zeker te zijn een kamer gereserveerd wat na veel zoekwerk gelukt zou zijn. In de avond na incheck was de gereserveerde kamer weer zoek en moesten weer gezocht worden naar een beschikbare kamer. Wij konden koffers pakken die niet van ons waren want er werd niet gecontroleerd. Totaal ongeïnteresseerd personeel wat volledig incompetent is. Zeker niet heen gaan hier.

My tv didn’t work and had to change rooms on arrival

The room was clean and the breakfast was good.

The tv in my room would turn on at around 3-4 am every night during all 4 nights of my stay. I have reported the issue to the reception, but the problem couldn't be fixed during my stay. The tv was not fixed, I was not offered another room, not even a sleep mask to prevent me from waking up from the screen light. Instead, I was offered a one night refund which didn't matter as it was a work trip. I didn't get to sleep well, which resulted in being sleepy during the day. Low score is to the staff that was not client oriented and couldn't fix a simple tv.

The room has a strange smell upon just getting there I had to spray perfume to mask it and there was no soap in the shower had to use the one at the face basin.

Staff weren't particularly helpful. Breakfast was very poor. No parking and road works going on throughout the night directly in front of the hotel. Appreciate the roadworks aren't the hotels fault-- it did create a huge issue to get anywhere near the hotel though, so parking ended up a long long way away. Biggest issue was my room location. Top Floor --- Right next to the hotel lift shaft and obviously very close to the machinery for the lift. All through the night, any lift movements keep you awake. I think the room is 1402 -- and they shouldn't be selling this as a functional room. If you paid £50 for the night for that room, it's £10 too much.

Friendly staff, easy check in, budget hotel get what your expect plus a little more and surprisingly quiet for such a central location. Felt safe and easy. Check out is at 12 for a slow start and looked after my bags all day for free.

I loved the area, so close to the station for easy access to get back home or elsewhere, i enjoyed the area as there were bars and clubs nearby, the breakfast was ok to! My room was great to! Nice and quiet and cosy, just wish i was on floor 12 and above to see he amazing views of reading I always enjoyed how i could drop my bags off so i could attend the pride festival

I wish i didnt have to go! But no in all fairness i didnt like how check in was roughly around 3pm, if it was just past miday that would have been nicer so i could stay at the event much longer instead of going from an event i was at to the hotel straight back to the event

Location was excellent, short walk from the train station. Staff were friendly and check-in was prompt. Breakfast was good.

Bathroom was clean but discoloured and the shower drain cover was loose. Air conditioning did not efficiently cool the room.

The area outside is busy, noisy and messy but that's nothing to do with the hotel itself or the staff. Just a busy high Street in Reading.

Great location for everything that I wanted to do in Reading, and just a 5 minute walk from the train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

Lack of parking nearby

Centre stay to city, close walk 6mins from reading train station and if you stay for reading festival it’s a 20/30 min walk to festival.

We went to reading festival for 3 days and being able to walk to and from the festival, order food from anywhere to the hotel and have a warm shower/ comfy bed to sleep was a game changer. All staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Would 100% recommend

Clean, friendly and convenient - great value

Great location, check-in was easy and fast, double room size was good, bed very comfortable, room and bathroom very clean and well prepared. Breakfast was excellent, great choice of hot and cold food, well laid out and presented. Restaurant was clean and tidy and staff were friendly and helpful.

Room overlooked the rear service area. Bin lorry arrived before 7am on Bank Holiday Monday and the very loud noise of the revving engine as they emptied the bins and bottles into the truck unfortunately woke me up!!

Το στρώμα στο δωμάτιο χρειάζεται αντικατάσταση χθες (είχε λακούβα στη μέση κ στις άκρες ήταν ταλαιπωρημένο). Λίγο παραπάνω προσοχή στην καθαριότητα. Για τα χρήματα που πλήρωσα περίμενα κάτι καλύτερο.

Room was a little tired

My partner and I have stayed before, we will stay again. On Friar Street in the centre of Reading, with cafes, bars, shops. 5-10 minute easy, simple from Reading train station. Easy check-in by friendly, helpful staff. Large hotel with many, many floors. Lift/elevator to all floors. Tactile and Braille on lift/elevator buttons and announcement of each floor. Great, paid breakfast with many options; cooked, veg/vegan, sireals, yogurts, pastries, fruuit juices, salad, toast, ham/cheese, tea/coffee. Lovely, large with big double bed, duvet, pillows, bed sheet included. Key card to enter room. Desk with one chair, tea/coffee making, with coffee sashays, milk sashays, sugar and tea bags. Kettle in room. Ensuite bathroom with good shower, hot water, good power. Bath matt. Bath towels, toilet paper. Room cleaned daily. Small rubbish bin bathroom, small rubbish bin in room. Multi-plug socket beside bed. Large lamp beside each side of bed.small table on each side of bed. Good free Wifi. Easy check-out. 24/hour reception. Will stay again. Good cheap price for you get.

Bathroom very small for one person extremely if two people using it at same time. No hand towels. Shower jell and shampoo bottles in shower very high, hard to reach and use. Have to re-sign to WiFi after 24 hours. Not many snack options in reception. Lobby very large. Can only pay for breakfast, snacks, drinks with card, no cash payment.

I liked the location. It was very close to the station and town centre. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was basic but nice. Check in and out was easy. Room was clean and comfortable.

The only thing I didn’t like was that there was no reasonable parking near. I was given the option of two by the hotel but they were an 11 minute walk away. I have an injured foot and had luggage so I needed somewhere nearer so I ended up paying £26 at the station. I’m not sure this is anything Ibis can change though.

Only one lift working the whole of our 7 day visit at busy times had to use stairs luckily only on 2nd floor as husband has walking aid also mattress toppers had two single ones on king size bed which just kept moving about during night otherwise loved our visit once again (third visit to this hotel)

Probably more personal choice, but the pillows were too big (high). Also the air con (that was needed) was quite noisy. It had a variable fan setting but i don't think it worked.

We did ask for an iron to be brought to our room as my mum couldn't go to the 7th floor as she has a bad knee and was completely ignored

Very comfortable good-sized room, quiet, good shower. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Very clean room and hotel.

It's a shame only one of the two lifts is working as it can be a bit time-consuming to get up to and from one's room.

the location is a few minutes' walk from the station which was very convenient for us with our bags. value for money, the rooms were larger by a fair amount compared to other ibis budgets weve stayed in all across europe and australia. was fantastic front staff at the desk, really yummy pizza available with drinks as a deal.
