This place was very clean. All staff were always approachable and friendly. We loved all the amenities they had to offer. This was our first time at an all inclusive hotel and it came highly recommended by a friend. We are very satisfied with our stay and plan to be back in the future.

Tienen suficientes albercas y camastros para disfrutarlas.

Si llegas temprano, no te permiten ingresar hasta que cierran el restaurant para el desayuno. No tiene servicio al cuarto y tampoco hay quien te atienda en las albercas o camastros. Si quieres una bebida, tienes que ir por ella y hacer una fila de 20 a 30 personas. Me dijeron que el refrigerador sería reabastecido cada dos días, pero estuve 4 días y nunca lo reabastecieron. Al entregar la habitación y esperar por tu traslado al aeropuerto, ya no me dejaron ni caminar por los jardines para tomarme fotos, pues segun dijeron, el personal de seguridad me sacaría por no traer el brazalete. En resumen, la atención del personal fue buena, pero la política de ahorros del hotel, restringiendo a los turistas, me pareció exagerada comparada con otros hoteles.

The staff is there biggest asset. They work so hard and efficiently.

There was not a place with comfortable temperature. We were from May 30- June 5 the temperature was very hot. 3 of the 4 pools have the water so hot, was not refreshing at all. The main plaza with no shade all day, by the night was very hot and no air circulating. Only the rooms, sports bar and bathroom (lobby and main plaza) have air conditioning.

The people were very nice. The buffet was great. I enjoyed the staff, they were professional and courteous.

why would you have glasses in the restroom if i can't drink the water? Was I safe to brush my teeth? a bigger sign would be nice, the one in my room was too small and i saw it too late. I drank all my Pepsi lite in the room, and it was replaced with regular Pepsi. it seemed odd and i did not drink it. I ran out of water after night one and had to wait for only three more bottles a day later. I was so thirsty i drink from the sink! Check out was also strange. I have never been anywhere (in the world) where i could not leave my key cards in the room, that was a very unpleasant experience.

Que no se daban abasto con los camastros en la alberca de tanta gente que alojaron, asi mismo no puedo contactar a alguien que me de respuesta de un cargo que me realizaron

La atención de todo el personal fue muy buena, los alimentos variados y de buena calidad, las dimensiones de la habitación eran muy cómodas junto con las amenidades que ofrece tanto en habitación como en el hotel.

La habitación era en el piso debajo del lobby y no tenía salida a la playa, jardines o restaurantes, entonces cada vez que se tenía que ir a la habitación, debíamos ir al lobby para tomar elevador, lo cual no era muy cómodo.

Las habitaciones perfectas, dormimos muy bien, Y el personal de limpieza A1. Y el personal en la entrada tambien muy bien, incluso dejamos olvidado un equipaje al partir y nos lo guardaron.

Todo estuvo perfecto hasta que fuimos al restaurante y los pajaros volaban por las mesas buscando comida. Justamente porque los pajaros entran, las sillas estaban generalmente sucias de caca de pajaro. Realmente no se ve aseado y lamentable que no hagan nada al respecto, derrepente cerrar con vidrios el lugar. De alli tengo que informar que la comida estaba aveces sosa, sin sabor el pollo recocinado y duro, De 4 días de estadía, solo un día fue mejor.

La ubicación es excelente, la atención del personal es muy bueno, la comida y bebidas sabrosas, el hotel aunque no es nuevo se encuentra en muy buenas condiciones y está a pie de playa.

Los horarios de los restaurantes de Carne, Pasta y comida japonesa tienen horarios muy específicos, hay casos donde es tanta la gente y sumando que no puedes hacer reservación, que no podías entrar al restaurante, ni siquiera te pueden poner en lista de espera después de cierto tiempo.

La playa es muy tranquila, muy limpia. El hotel está muy bien ubicado en un sector tranquilo y seguro. La comida es muy buena, un hotel con excelente relación calidad - precio.

Que booking ofrece spa gratis y un vale de $500, lo cual es mentira y totalmente falso. Sinceramente me parece una vergüenza que ofrezcan promociones que no cumplen.

buffet was great, room with ocean view was awesome, staff was friendly and there were lots of activities to do if you wanted, evening shows were lots of fun.

Needs more washrooms, umbrellas on the beach should be complimentary, snack bar needs more healthy options, could use more loungers around the pools.

What I enjoyed the most while we were here was a few different things: The buffet was actually pretty good. There were restaurants around, but us personally we didn’t need to go. The buffet was enough for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. We loved that there was a bar that still had food in it in case you get hungry at a later time like my kid did. The pool was very nice. (Very warm) The place looked and felt clean. The staff were very nice. A lot of activities going on. The drinks in the fridge were awesome!

The bed. If you get a room with 2 beds, they are 2 double beds pushed together and are not very comfortable. My brother n law saw a cockroach in his room. I didn’t see any. There needs to be a fan in the bathroom. There is no air circulating in that bathroom and it gets steamy and then everything in the room feels damp. It’s weird. The food was ok, the breakfast was the best.

Booking missed up my reservation and I had to pay an additional $944. Stay was short with at the front fest and neglected for hours. Off a flight and brought no food or water to easy the process. I will never stay here again and will update my friends to never choose RIU.

The food was very good. Staff are friendly, hard-working, and the "heart and soul" of the resort. Love the beach.

No waiter service around pools or beach. Chair Wars: Guests needing to "reserve" pool chairs with towels as early as 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM to secure a spot. We saw a lot of chairs saved and no one sitting in them for hours.

Due to the incident on Feb 23 the hotel was at reduced capacity so restaurants and menu options were very limited staff was cut short so line ups at the bars even with only 42 percent capacity

Booked 8 months ahead and asked for balcony with ocean view and king-sized bed. First night had balcony looking out onto another hotel and parking lot, 2 double beds, talked to check in and was given a room with a balcony, partial ocean view and king-sized bed which was like a trampoline, talked to office and finally got a better bed finally after many different tries. Not a chair to sit on only a small sofa which was difficult to get out of.

The views, and most of the workers were very nice. Additionally, the beach and spa services were excellent. The grounds were maintained well.

Major construction began outside our room the day we arrived and continued daily from 9am–6pm. Hallways were full of dust, workers, and equipment. Dust entered our room and aggravated my asthma. There were no warnings, no signage, and doors had wet paint on the handles that were not cleaned. Clothing was damaged due to unmarked wet paint. Food quality was very poor throughout the stay. Buffet food was largely inedible, and the steakhouse served wilted salad and overcooked meals. Staff responses were dismissive, and management did not take accountability. We also experienced uncomfortable and humiliating treatment at the steakhouse, including selective enforcement of dress code rules. Overall, the experience did not meet basic resort standards and significantly disrupted our vacation.

Breakfast choices were great. I especially liked the fruit. The coffee could use some work. I found it changed from day to day. Some days strong, some days weak.

Something needs to be done about the slippery tiles in the pool area. My husband slipped and fell coming out of the pool and I myself slipped several times. The elevators were a bit out of the way. We also didnot like the idea of standing in line for the A La Carte Restaurants. Making a reservation would be so much simpler.

The all inclusive hotel was amazing, very clean, friendly staff and lots of entertainment! Close to the beach and activities! Went parasailing, boogie boarding, watching the sunset on the ocean

Seniors room was clean, nice views. Adult children had to switch rooms due to moldy smell and door that didn't lock. Had to argue with front staff but were moved. Cleaning staff were very good. Serving staff in all restaurants were excellent. Entertainment was hit and miss but the evening musicians were excellent. Overall it was a lovely stay.

If I could, I would give a 0 star only to the Bellboy. We’re from Quebec Canada, and been traveling regularly to Mexico since 1993. This was our 2nd trip to a Riu in Mexico, last year was at the Riu Palace in Cancun. Other than a bad experience with the bellboy upon leaving the resort, everything and everyone else was really nice, They made you feel welcomed. The resort was impeccably, clean. The room was beautiful, and the wide choice of food was great. The Riu shuttles to and from the airport are supplied by 3rd party transport companies. It was relatively easy to get the transport from the airport to the resort. We had booked our return shuttle in advance, after doing that, our Riu representative, told us our pickup would be on January 28 at 1:00pm. After checking out that day, we went to the lobby at 12:40pm, the Bellboy had told us the shuttle came at 12:25 looking for us, and left. We told the Bellboy our pickup was supposed to be at 1:00pm, he was very rude and did not believe us, and told us rudely “it’s not our problem you came late!” We did not want to miss our flight, so I went right away to talk to the representative that booked us the return shuttle. He verified that there was a mistake on there part, and it was supposed to be at 1:00pm, after a heated phone call with his superior, he came with us to the lobby, his superior was still on the line, and the representative passed the phone to the Bellboy, Seconds later the Bellboy called the taxi to come pick up us, the Bellboy looked furious that we were right, he opened the doors of the taxi to let us in, without any smile or even looking at us in the eyes. I can’t believe a beautiful week had to end with a situation like that.

Riu Vallarta was in a great location. Close to main marina. Great service. Great food options at the buffet. Great drinks. The nights were very noisy with courtyard noise late into night. Would have rather had no beach front for quiet night and good sleep. Sports bar was great!

We stayed on the 9th floor in a beautiful, quiet and clean room, with maid service every morning (loved this). Other than the room, I felt this Riu was not as good as the others, 15+ we have stayed at in previous years. Food was a 3/10, nothing special at the Buffett, and to get into one of the A LA carte restaurants, you needed to arrive 45 minutes or earlier before the restaurant officially opened and stand in line. Many older people who can’t stand, or used walkers etc, found this challenging. The only one that was worth going to was the Italian, the Steak House was terrible, and Asian just ok. In this day, to not have a better system in place to book the A LA Carte’s is unacceptable. Everything should be available to book on line, or each room is getting so many nights at the LA Carte’s. Virtually no drink service around the pool area (there is a drink cart that does come sporadically in the afternoon sometimes). No table service for drinks in the lobby. The internet at the pool rarely works, and if you get on, it will knock you off repeatedly. The price for the room is way to high compared to other comparable hotels offering the same or better services. I guess we just expected more, as we were paying more …. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back here.

This was my fourth time here and I will continue coming here. It feels like family because every time you go back there is so much of the same people that have been there for years and I just love that because I work as a waitress in a hotel and the hotel that I work for is like family and so many people that have been there for years, so I just love the feeling the Riu Vallarta is fantastic

We went to Riu Vallarta as part of a work incentive trip and it was a great time had by all. Overall, everything was wonderful. I'm not sure if we will return specifically to this resort as we usually look to travel somewhere new every year, but we will definitely consider another RIU property!

Service is always welcoming and friendly....only minor issue was our room selection showed the room we choose actually had a view of the ocean. What we really had was a great view of the roof of the lower units. Tried to switch rooms when we first came in, but the hotel was booked so nothing they could do. Otherwise the vacation was very nice! Thank you RIU staff for making this another memorable trip with outstanding service!!!

Had a wonderful stay at the Riu Vallarta. We booked a family suite (adjoining rooms) and were upgraded to rooms with an amazing ocean view. The resort was clean, the entertainment staff were very engaging and there were many activities to keep everyone happy. Food was fantastic - especially at the Italian restaurant.

This trip was a girl's trip to celebrate a friend's retirement. It is an absolutely beautiful resort. It is well kept, and very clean. The staff are uniformly friendly and good at their jobs. Our rooms were always clean, and our minifridges well stocked. We did try to get our pool chairs by 0745 as it was not easy to find a chair that was not saved if you were much later than that, and the sun is brutal! The two less positive things about the resort were the quality of the coffee, and the fact that the specialty restaurants were difficult to get into. The coffee was truly terrible- although the staff were great at serving cappuccinos and other coffees- the coffee tasted nothing like coffee. Of the four specialty restaurants, the two best were closed two of the seven nights we were there. The Asian restaurant was a buffet and really not very good. To get into Kulinar or the Italian restaurant, we had to be in line by 5:15 for the 6;00 opening. In the Italian restaurant- which was great- over half of the restaurant was still empty when people were turned away. I'm sure that many people never had the opportunity to get a seat in a specialty restaurant here. Overall a good experience which could have been great- with better coffee, and better access to the restaurants.

If I could give this hotel a Zero star rating, I would. This trip was to celebrate my nephews’ birthday. The food at the restaurants was so horrible that we got sick. In the middle of the night, the morning of my nephew’s birthday, he vomited in his room and was sick for the rest of his special day. Instead of empathizing with us, the hotel charged us $205 American dollars. I can understand being charged if an adult in my family vomited from being drunk, but being charged for a child that got sick from the hotel’s food is very disheartening. This incident alone is enough for our family to never return to this hotel and to leave a zero-star review. We expected understanding and basic compassion, especially given that this involved a child who became ill, not reckless behavior. Instead, we were met with an excessive charge and no empathy whatsoever. This completely overshadowed what was supposed to be a special family celebration and left us extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled.

Overall we were very happy with our stay at Riu Vallarta. Excellent buffet, clean and modern rooms, fantastic staff and service. Our only reason for not giving full marks relates to the fact that the a la carte restaurants were impossible to get into. Every night at least one (often 2) was closed for maintenance. i would also like to see the TVs upgraded to Smart TVs to allow streaming from ones device.

The workers worked hard but there wasn't enough of them for the volume of people. Cups and plates around the pool often got left for quite a while. Seems like there was only 1 person clearing these for 4 pools. Same with tables at dinner, 1 waitress was running around serving double the amount of tables you would expect. They did their best. Food was pretty good but got too repetitive. For example the Mexican station was good but has the same 3 salsas the entire time. Even during Mexican theme night. The line up for a la carts was out pretty bad most nights. They closed 2 of 4 one night which made it impossible to get into any. Don't advertise 4 if there isn't 4 available. Most drinks were good but the soda water had almost no carbonation. Rooms were cleaned well. Drink fridge could be filled more often. It was done 2 or 3 times in the week. Pools were clean and a good temperature. Not too warm or cold. Entertainment during the day was good, a bit too much for myself but others might enjoy. Didn't watch much entertainment at night but what I saw was pretty good. A message for management: stop skimping on the number of staff to save a buck. The staff effort wasn't the issue, it was the number of staff. You had the option for a 5 star review but cost cutting affected the review.
