Gorgeous rooms, really clean, staff were brilliant and the restaurant was gorgeous! Would definitely stay again

Breakfast is excellent, the location is great and the reception and restaurant staff are delightful and so friendly. There is always a warm welcome. Don't change your successful format!

I am a very hard to please person and the only thing would be more rooms with walk-in showers. I hate climbing in and out of the bath!

Too noisy at night. You can hear boy racers even with the windows closed.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had another brilliant stay at the Ellison Hotel! This was our second time staying here and it definitely won’t be our last. The staff are absolutely lovely and so friendly – I genuinely can’t praise them enough. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are brilliant and everything is so clean and comfortable. The location is also so handy, especially being able to walk through the tunnel straight over to the Royal Theatre. We had a fantastic stay and can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend the Ellison Hotel!

Excellent dinner and breakfast. Great location in the centre of Castlebar and linked to the theatre. Also right opposite the park.

There weren't many options for a (quiet) drink in the evenings. The bar area is quite small, and if there's another loud party in there the nose carries quite considerably. There is seating in the reception area too but not much. We asked if we could sit somewhere else and thankfully the lovely colleagues at the bar let us have a seating area in the conference facilities.

Good location and the bedroom was very quiet, enabling a good night's sleep.

Large and airy. Had its own parking garage at the facility. Restaurant available, vending, small kitchenette with fridge in our suite. Good daily service.

Our room faced west so we got lots of afternoon sun and we had a string of very hot days. There was no A/C or fans. The two windows at each end of a large curved set of windows hardly opened and with lots of drapery it was hard to get air flowing. Was a bit warm and uncomfortable at night. Otherwise a very nice room.

Romm was very nice, breakfast was very nice.

Bath mat in the bath wasn't very clean, expensive for what it is.

More like 'hated' rather than not like. That was the Bath/Shower. Tricky getting in and out and no flexible shower hose was a disappointment. Otherwise....

The hotel is excellent standard, great location great parking. Rooms were beautifully clean and had a fridge and good shower. Rooms were wasn’t too hot.

The restaurant was really expensive. I wasn’t looking for a dining experience and there was no other cheaper option. And the Hotel bar is only waiting area for the restaurant, zero ambience. Not a place to just have a drink and chill out after touring the sights for the day.

Value of prices. To supplement fries (already included with the main course) with sweet potato fries had an additional charge. Options for tea/coffee for breakfast were included but an additional charge for a cappucino. It was lukewarm and cost 4.20e, I wouldnt have bothered. Service was slow both at dinner and breakfast but place was busy. We had to ask several times for our food or drinks

Lovely staff. Cleanliness. Beautiful varied breakfast with friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Fluffy white towels. TV reception very good. Excellent parking facilities.

Only thing was the noise from the busy road. Should have asked for a room at the back of the hotel. Will know the next time.

It was a very smart hotel, great bar and great food with very easy access to the theatre at the rear

Unfortunately across the road from the hotel is a McDonald’s and petrol station which was a hub for half a dozen boy racers who tore up and down the road until 3am in the morning with super loud exhausts that kept us awake so we had a poor nights sleep

That it was close to the TF Royal Theatre. Location was perfect for the shows.

Our room was to the front of the building it was very noise on the road with Joy riders. Just unfortunate that they were on the road most of the night.

The staff are absolutely fantastic, so helpful and so pleasant. The hotel is also in a great location.

This was our second time staying here and we didn't have any issue the first time however on this occasion the bed was tiny, did not feel big enough for two people.

The staff all very pleasant. We got a room with a walk in shower which was great for my 93 year old mother

There was no fridge in room for meds that needed to be kept in a fridge. The shower chair had dirt marks and the shelf in bathroom had rust marks.

Great hotel, well managed.

Lovely location! Handy and close to shops. Great for a walk close to the stream/pond behind the hotel. Ironing board and iron in the room too. There was drinking water tap outside the main corridor of each floor. There was a jar in the room that you needed to fill up with the provided taps yourself.

Staff in the restaurant (chefs crew @breakfast) could do well with some customer-service raining ! The layout with parking and rooms and lobby and reception can be a bit confusing . A mini fridge could be useful.
