We liked everything - the welcome, the room and the monkeys, the infinity pool that you could swim in and look over the lake, the wildlife around the hotel (birds, bats, lizards, squirrels), the attentive, friendly staff in the restaurant that seemed to cater for all tastes

Just the price of wine at dinner, which turned out to be way more expensive than expected. I think tax was added, so the price you see on the menu isn’t what you pay

Dependeu muito da lotacao do hotel. Com muitos clientes internacionais, os buffets eram otimos. Se fossem poucos clientes e apenas orientais, aí a coisa complica. É um hotel de selva, os macacos estao nas nossas janelas, nos corredores, os elwfantes passeiam pela prpriedade, como bufalos, cavalos e todo tipo de aves e rwpteis. É uma delicia. Mas é dificil de manter um determinado standard. A arquitetura do hotel é magnifica, o que se pode visitar nos arredores tambem. Poderiam twr mais cuidado com o cliente

The location and views are incredible given the situation of the hotel. The staff on the ground were attentive and provided good service. The food and facilities also were excellent.

The rooms felt a bit outdated and not quite at the 5 star level with small things missing and or broken. But what really let us down was the poor hotel management. The room we were given was beneath the function room, which the hotel neglected to tell us. We found out when a 3 day event started and booming music disturbed our stay. For a 3 night stay we had to try 3 different rooms. We were given a temporary room at first and then had to be changed again, which was very disruptive. The hotel management did not seem to be appreciative of the level of noise and disruption - it was not acceptable for the hotel to have given this room out as a booking (they told us they typically give these rooms to people who stay from the function). Worst of all, there was no effort to compensate us for these issues and discomfort, that ultimately ruined our stay here. I was very disappointed and uncomfortable in having to ask for monetary compensation as this was not offered - I had to haggle for 10k rupees of our drinks bill in the end. This is an expensive hotel and given our issues, just not worth the money we paid. Given the event, which was clearly the priority of management, we should have been notified in advance and offered a discount or change of rooms before our stay. They claimed that a ‘free upgrade’ on our final night should have been sufficient - no, we had to move room because the one they booked us was not usable, and a slightly larger room for our final night before leaving early anyway was not exactly commensurate with the inconvenience. As noted in my positives - most of the service staff were excellent. My issue is primarily with the hotel management.

The staff were the best especially our hotel driver Baudara a local man who has worked at the hotel for 30 years and has an exceptional knowledge of the region its people and the amazing wild life.

A unique location which the hotel makes the most of through beautifully integrated architecture that melts into the rocky jungle outcrop it sits upon. There's nowhere like it. Service and food were also excellent.

自然と融合するのはこういうことかと感じました。部屋に入るとお猿が迎えてくれ、部屋からはシギリアロックと野生の象が見えました。動物達の日常にお邪魔しているような感覚になりました。

2泊しましたが朝食も夕食も種類が豊富で内容も違っていて楽しめました。自然の中に滞在している感覚がとても心地よかったです。ホテル内のどこにいても素晴らしい景色でした。

仕方ないと思いますが料理に虫が多く止まっているところがあったのが残念。 初日の部屋は一番下の階で、景色がそこまで良くなかった。 シーギリヤロックやサファリなどの予定であまりゆっくりできなかったのが残念でした。

Camera con vista molto bella su Sigirya, piscina a sfioro sulla valle incantevole e la colazione molto ricca e variegata. La struttura di design è affascinante e vale la pena trascorrere del tempo in questo luogo.

La camera era immediatamente sotto la sala colazione/pranzo/cena. Essendomi svegliato molto presto per le visite all’inizio non ho notato questo difetto ma al terzo giorno in cui avevo deciso di godermi il posto mi sono reso conto che la camera era molto rumorosa. Il manager ha proposto di cambiare stanza ma ormai era troppo tardi per rimettermi a fare le valige e spostarmi. In ogni caso hanno provato ad accontentare la mia richiesta, ma mi domando come mai con un prenotazione di 4 settimane prima e con un prezzo decisamente alto abbiano deciso di mettermi in una stanza sotto la sala ristorante consapevoli del disagio che avrebbe provocato.

I was denied of breakafast. Altghught my reservation was confirmed via booking.com they asked my wife to pay for the stay eventhought booking.com had my card details. My wife need it to pay for this when it was my gift to her for her birthday, on top of that they didnt informed about the breakafast, just in the morning she realized breakfast wasnt included. Definetly not a place for western people.

I didnt like the way all was handled by BOOKING.COM and the hotel. I tried madly conatcting the hotel phone number provided and the email address provided by booking.com and on top of that i did google it by myself and never had a simple reply from hotel neither by phone which they never pick up and their AI pretends to make you stupid like if there is another person on the other side of the line, they never read or reply to my mails when what i really madly want it was to put my wife and myself in shame with the payments.

Quite a long drive to get anywhere and some staff seemed quite new.

今回、個人的には3回目で、家族にも体験させたいと利用させてもらいました ここにしか体験できない時間があるかと思います。 人生に一度は訪れる価値ありかと思います。

今回、ダイニングの下の部屋だったので、椅子などを引きずる音がずっと聞こえていたことですかね。 致し方無いかとは思っています。 入室時、一言または何かサービスがあったら印象が変わるかと思います

La piscine est clairement un atout et fait tout dans l’hôtel en plus de la vue et de la localisation

Hotel Review A remarkable architectural hotel designed by the renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. The entire property was conceived with an extraordinary level of thought and attention to detail, with many of the furnishings designed by Bawa himself or by members of his team. Most impressive is the way the hotel blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings, creating a unique sense of harmony between architecture and nature. That said, while the hotel was considered highly modern and innovative for its time, the rooms have unfortunately aged and are now in need of a significant refresh. There have not been enough updates and renovations over the years to maintain the standard one would expect from such an iconic property. Another issue is the lack of acoustic treatment in the dining room. During dinner, when the restaurant was full, the noise level was extremely high and made the experience quite unpleasant. Overall, this is a very special hotel with exceptional architectural character and a deep connection to its surroundings. With a thoughtful renovation and some investment in the rooms and dining areas, it could once again fully reflect the brilliance of its original design.

Amazing location, rooms were large and had nature right outside the windows (monkeys etc), overlooked water reservoire , buffet breakfast and dinner is outstanding - best yet on our travels.

Rooms are getting a little tired - but still tidy, spacious and clean.

雰囲気全体が素晴らしかったです。朝食、夕食、部屋、インフィニティプールなど全体的に計算されたホテルであり、従業員のホスピタリティも溢れ、総合力あるホテルです。シーギリヤロックが見える部屋にしましたが眺望も素晴らしかったです。ダンブッラ、シーギリヤロック、ポロンナルワまではやや離れていますので、アクティビティ中心の滞在の方にはもったいないです。ホテルでゆっくりと過ごしたい方には良いと思います。

バスタブ付きの部屋にしましたが、シャワールームもほしかったです。ロケーションは素晴らしいですが、ダンブッラ、シーギリヤロック、ポロンナルワまでは距離があり、アクティビティも盛り込むとホテル滞在時間を少なくなってしまい、トレードオフになってしまいます。

全てが最高でした！ 優しくて笑顔が素敵なスタッフ達、最高のロケーションと景色、自然と融合した空間... ビュッフェの料理も豊富でとても美味しかったです！ Everything is perfect. All staffs are kind, considerate and friendly. The location is fabulous. You can touch the nature and scenery from the room is amazing. There are a variety of dishes and everything is so tasty. I can’t express how wonderful it is. Defiantly one of the best hotel I have ever stayed in. All staffs are nice, especially Mr.Shantha is awesome. He was very observant and proactive!

バスルームの排水だけ気になりました シャワー室の水がバスルームに出てしまうと、排水していかない。。タオルで拭くしかない。

基本上到斯里蘭卡報這間飯店的名字司機都知道 就是住在一個水源保護區裡面 裡面也會有很多野生動物 建築物本身就是一個藝術品 裡面擺設跟建築設計都很特別 建議住這邊就可以排一天好好探索飯店不用往外跑了 房間裡面很舒適,我們是兩面窗景 晚餐跟早餐我們都吃飯店裡的Buffet 真的是我吃過人生中最豐盛的自助餐 餐點種類也太多了！！！性價比很高 包含斯里蘭卡傳統料理,印度料理,還帶有一些日式跟西式的料理 應該想吃什麼在這邊都找得到

Très bel emplacement, l hôtel est fondu dans la nature. Nous avons pu voir des éléphants depuis notre balcon. Le personnel est très attentionné.

Das Essen und Frühstück waren ausgezeichnet. Sehr guter Service und eine riesige Auswahl. Die Qualität war frisch und ausgezeichnet zubereitet. Das Hotel ist an einer ausgergewöhnlichen wunderschönen Lage!

Das Buchen über Booking ist etwas kompliziert, es gibt so viele möglichkeiten, auch welche die nicht nötig wären. Wir haben für 4 Personen gesucht und wurde schlussendlich nicht korrekt abgebucht.

. We loved everything about our stay. The accommodation was comfortable, beautiful, spacious, and completely independent from the rest of the property, which gave us a great sense of privacy. The pool was absolutely amazing—it was so inviting that you could spend the whole day there. Everything we needed was available, and the overall experience was excellent. Everything especially the architecture! I randomly booked the hotel and it was the best happy surprise ever!! What an outstanding experience being immersed in nature in a very tasteful way. It was the ultimate resort experience for me with all excellent amenities especially the spa. Food was absolutely delicious.

On a tout aimé l hotel est très beau . Le spa est très sympa aussi . Le resto buffet est immense on a apprécié découvrir les plats ,toute la famille a pu se régaler. C est un hôtel a découvrir sans hésiter

This place was an absolute treat and we’re so glad we stayed two nights. We absolutely love monkeys and adored seeing them on our balcony. The food was excellent and the staff were exceptional. We absolutely love the room and the privacy on the balcony.

The bar situation doesn’t quite work. There is only one bar in the whole resort which no one seems to attend. It should be in that front section near the pool where the welcome drinks are. The feng shui with the bar is not good and it should be closer to the pool, not stuck in the back. I know there’s a small pop up bar at the pool but it actually could be expanded into a little hut with some barstools. I don’t think they understand how much money they’re losing with Western tourists, as a few of us discussed this.

We had a wonderful stay at the Heritance Kandalama, from the moment we arrived it felt very special. The hotel is magnificent, both from a location perspectives as well as an architectural one. We booked a Deluxe room for two, which had a beautiful view out over the reservoir and towards Sigiriya Rock. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, as well as a Jacuzzi bath. We ate at the Hotel most days, with an indulgent breakfast buffet in the morning (included in our room charge) and an extensive dinner buffet in the evenings - the food and service on both buffets was excellent and the choice also extensive. In addition, one of our travelling companions had dietary restrictions (no glutton or dairy) and the chef and kitchen staff were extremely attentive to providing advice around the dishes as well as alternatives. The facilities at the hotel were great, with 3 x pools to choose from and spacious lounging and viewing areas to relax in. We also did an elephant safari via the hesitance which was a wonderful experience. They organised everything from pickup, the actual safari and the drop off, we saw many elephants in the wild - a truely worthwhile experience. Thank you to the Heritance and all its staff - we will be back.

One note regarding our room, the shower is incorporated within the jacuzzi - if you are older or a little shaky on your feet, just be careful - getting in and out of the shower was a little challenging - there are handles to assist but it was still a little difficult.

Alles, het was echt prachtig. Wat een fantastische locatie! De ligging, de dieren, de zwembaden, het eten en het personeel. Top!

De kamers waren in verhouding wat minder spectaculair dan de rest, maar wel schoon en comfortabel. Enige nadeel was dat je dat het eten bij het buffet enorm naar eten stinkt.

Great hotel and beautiful scenery! Very friendly staff. The level 7 set menu restaurant was amazing! Best meal we had in Sri Lanka with gluten free options. It should definitely be promoted more. We noticed it was harder to find - more signs on level 5 and 6 would help!

The mini fridge in our room was a little old and looked dirty. The infinity pool was beautiful but it was also very busy with limited pool chairs.

We had an exceptional stay at Heritance Kandalama. The hotel’s unique design and stunning setting make it a truly special place. The service was attentive throughout our stay, and the food was excellent. A special thank you to Chef Shanmu, who went above and beyond to organise special meals to accommodate my wife’s restricted diet. His care and attention made a real difference and were greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Heritance Kandalama and would happily stay again.

Hotel zatopiony w zieleni. Piękny design aczkolwiek juz nie najnowszy. Dość duży obiekt ale nie czuje się tego. Smaczne jedzenie miła obsługa. Wygodne i czyste baseny.

景色も良く、自然と一体になっている感じがとても素敵でした。ベランダに猿が遊びに来て見ていて楽しかったです。チェックインが遅くなってしまいゆっくり出来なかったのが心残りです。

サプライズで友達のバースデーをお祝いしようと思っていたのですが、本人にバースデーケーキのことをスタッフが確認してしまい、サプライズにはなりませんでした。 さらにお部屋に用意してあるはすのケーキがなく、ケーキをお部屋で待つことになり残念でした。 チェックインの際は予約者に確認して欲しかったです。

We had a wonderful stay at Heritance Kandalama. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature, and staying in such a peaceful environment was a truly special experience. We were even lucky enough to see monkeys visiting near our room, which was a delightful and memorable moment. The architecture is absolutely stunning. Knowing that it was thoughtfully designed by Geoffrey Bawa made our stay even more meaningful. Every space blends beautifully with the surrounding landscape. The staff were always friendly, warm, and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. This was one of the most memorable hotels we have ever stayed at, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.
