Staff make this place immaculate, feels like they want to work there. They keep the grounds and rooms beautiful and clean, the foots diverse and yummy, the dining room staff are also very friendly, Mr Geeth and his colleagues are so nice. The location is 🫶

Marion Marion A very peaceful hotel. Rooms set within a natural tree setting. The highlight of the hotel is the catering which is very good, led by Jared and his team. The staff are excellent and responsive to your requirements.

I stayed in a sweet room with personal pool . The bathroom was horrible the shower cubicle and water pressure was very low . And mainly such category room need to have an extra toilet in the living area . This was not convenient with only one bathroom.

Wunderschöne Hotelanlage mit Bungalows und zwei Pool. Ein pool hat einem wunderschönen Ausblick auf den See. Das ahotelpersonal betonten mehrmals das wir Booking. com. Gäste sind und deshalb haben wir ein Zimmerupgrade auf eine Suite bekommen. Zusätzlich bekamen wir immer einen Gruß des Hauses. Die Suite war rießengroß und schön. Das Badezimmer auch. Mit Whirlpool, Dusche. Es gab einem extra geoßen Ankleideraum. In der Anlage wir man mit einem Golfkady abgeholt und herumgefahren. Wir konnten Affen, Wasserbüffel usw. sehen.

Es gab zu wenige Poolliegen. Wir hatten aber Glück. Hatten den Pool für uns alleine.

Breakfast buffet was excellent. Staff were amazing and accommodating. The premises were amazing. It really was one of the most relaxing hotel that I have stayed at.

The family rooms should have an additional toilets like other hotels that cater for families. Would have liked the ability to connect to Netflix, Prime or Disney as we were unable to relax and watch any of the local channels ... which were not suited to our liking.

Resort muito amplo, à beira do lago com umas vistas excelentes. Fica a cerca de 30 minutos do Lions Rock e também está perto de algumas reservas naturais. O quarto era extremamente amplo, bastante limpo e muito confortável. Serviço de lavandaria funcionou bem e foram rápidos e a um preço adequado. O pequeno almoço era agradável, mas têm de colocar mais avisos sobre os pratos picantes sobretudo para hospedes ocidentais com menos tolerância para esse tipo de comida.

Alguns dos funcionários, apesar da sua amabilidade, não dominam a lingua inglesa e pode ser difícil a comunicação.

Struttura ben inserita nella natura sulle rive del lago, le camere sono dislocate all’interno del parco e nonostante la struttura esterna sia migliorabile all’interno si presentano molto bene. Ottimi standard di pulizia e da sottolineare la gentilezza dello staff. Ottimo il buffet della colazione e cena.

Niente. Migliorabile forse l’aspetto esterno delle camere, ma ho trovato questo soggiorno davvero piacevole.

Śniadanie mogłoby być bardziej urozmaicone w stylu europejskim. Duży basen wymaga doczyszczenie.

Resort espectacular. Una auténtica maravilla. Un lujo. Situado en plena naturaleza al lado de un lago precioso con unos paseos espléndidos que bordean el lago . Habitaciones- bungalows super amplias y cómodas con todo equipamiento necesario. Dos piscinas súper grandes y bien cuidadas. Un restaurante todo exterior con vistas al lago, en el que se puede disfrutar del buffet que es extenso y delicioso. El personal, super amable, como en todo el país. Un único “pero”…estuvimos un único día. El complejo es como para pasar y disfrutarlo más días. Y para lo que es y ofrece, no es demasiado caro. Recomendable 100%

We had the most amazing time at Amaya from start to finish. The location and upkeep of the hotel was incredibly beautiful. It was very tranquil and peaceful. The staff were so attentive, polite and went above and beyond. The buffet for breakfast and dinner was amazing. There was so much choice including a mix of cuisine, some being Sri Lankan which meant we were able to try a range of dishes at once. The cocktails were also great. We used the app Pick Me to order an TukTuk taxi and the driver ended up being a tour guide for the day. Sigiriya is very easily accessible from the hotel. We recommend climbing Pidurangala rock over Sigiriya rock. The room itself was a very spacious, comfortable villa, isolated from other guests. The air con was brilliant too. We both had a 30 min massage in the spa which was very welcome after a long day of travelling the 24hrs before. Honestly couldn’t recommend this hotel more. We are at the start of our trip and struggling to imagine somewhere that will beat it.

Es war eine wunderbare, weitläufige, saubere und gepflegte Anlage. Die Häuser waren sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Der Poolbereich, das Spa, Restaurant und die Bar waren sehr schön.

Wow, what can I say. The location is stunning and that on its own is enough for me to recommend people staying here. Was pleasantly surprised to find that there are 2 pools, especially given that our room was quite far from the main pool but appreciated the buggy service to ferry you back and forth if required. Staff were very attentive. Family room was large with separate luggage room.

There were no staff members to assist around the other pool for towels/ drinks.

I had a wonderful stay! The place was spotlessly clean, and the staff were super friendly, polite, and helpful. Truly top service. It was amazing to see wildlife like Komodo dragons, monkeys, eagles, and squirrels right around the resort.

However, due to past deforestation and the use of fertilizers and insecticides, the property is not completely eco-friendly. An excellent resort overall, but important to know for conscious travelers.

Sans conteste, le meilleur hôtel de notre séjour. Les chambres sont sublimes et installées avec le plus grand soin. Serviettes sculptées et pétales de fleurs sur le lit. Restaurant fabuleux. Il y a même 2 piscines (la seconde est au fond de l’hôtel près du lac). Nombre de transats un peu juste autour de la piscine principale mais aucun problème. Bref, un endroit merveilleux.

Augmenter le nombre de transats autour de la piscine serait un plus.

This hotel was an absolute Oasis. The private villas are absolutely amazing with lots of room and very spaced out between you and the next villa. The staff were exceptional in every way and bent over backwards to accommodate each guest. There were 2 pools, the main pool was by far the best. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. Had a special dining experience by the lake on our last night which was exceptional with a Seafood BBQ, very attentive staff, a flutist in the trees and to top it all off a fabulous fire. It was special. I really did not want to leave and 2 nights for us was not enough. Also had one of the best massages of all whilst in Sri Lanka at the Spa.

Having to leave, there was absolutely nothing I could fault.

An amazing resort with lots and lots of very attentive staff. The food was of incredible quality and quantity and it felt very luxurious to lounge by the pool and have your drinks and lunch served there. We particularly enjoyed the wildlife, the many birds of prey and a variety of other birds that we hadn’t spotted elsewhere yet in Sri Lanka. The setting is beautiful by the lake. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff all seemed to be local and were extremely friendly and helpful.

The only things of note (hence not a full 10) were the check-out process which was slow (we could not get hold of the buggy driver) and that we could not use the 2nd smaller (yet with a better view) and nearer-to-us pool as there was no pool attendant and a group of threatening macaques baring their teeth as we tried to sit on a lounger. There were no monkeys at the bigger pool, which was gorgeous.

L'hotel ha superato le nostre aspettative! E' una struttura grande ma ben distribuita nel verde, con un'ampia piscina e spazi per passeggiare, anche in riva al lago adiacente. Abbiano cenato sempre all'interno dell'hotel, con un'abbondanza di cibi sia locali (gustosissimi), sia internazionali. La camera (suite) è risultata molto accogliente, con spazi per letto, divani e un bagno enorme con vasca idromassaggio. Sono stati quattro giorno davvero molto piacevoli.

This is a private bungalow type hotel rather than a resort style, which we love. We had the bungalow with a private pool which was perfect for having a quick cool plunge at any time of day or night. There are two large pools at the property which are lovely and large and clean and everything is either a short stroll or buggy ride from the main hotel. Food was excellent and really enjoyed having our evening meals on the outdoor terrace. Worth getting out for the climb up Lion Rock, visiting the Cave Temple and going for the historic village tour

Las chicas jóvenes de recepción tienen poca formación/experiencia. No ofrecían ninguna información a la llegada. Es el único hotel en toda mi vida que me han pedido que les pague a la llegada.

Beautiful hotel, our villa was really spacious, clean, peaceful, we loved the scenic gardens with fresh herbs and plantations and my son enjoyed watching the little monkeys and other wildlife roaming free. The pool had a deep and shallow end, a swing and play area for my son. The views for the lake from the pool and the hotel was beautiful and so serene. Would have loved to have had more time here but hopefully will be back in the future

מקום מדהים באמצע הג׳ונגל , מרחבים מטופחים וגם קופים שצצים מידי פעם בין העצים . הוילות משתלבות היטב עם הטבע והיה נהדר לטייל בשבילי המלון . הצוות מדהים , אדיב ואני רוצה לשבח במיוחד את Devinda , שדאג לנו כל הזמן .היינו חוזרים בגדול !

חלק מהחדרים דורשים רענון אבל זה ממש לא פגע בחוויה הכוללת של מלון .

The AC light was too bright to sleep at night

Great location. Overall the staff was good.

The pool overlooking the mountain had only 2 staff attendants. With over 30-40 guests to attend they were not able to manage well. Food came in almost after an hour. Towels are meant to be next to the pool, but the staff had to send a buggy to the reception to fetch towels. By the time the towels arrived we were all dry. A group of 10 men were handed over towels before handing over towels to women around. I think it’s just not right. Got the entire experience to minus.

Some of the staff were excellent. The location was excellent. The rooms were large.

Some staff were rude. The bedrooms are very dated. Many hotel services not operating such as our hotel bar.

We stayed at this hotel recently and the service was truly above and beyond! The staff took care of every single need we had, especially accommodating a specific dietary requirement for our daughter with absolute kindness, joy, and a constant smile. They constantly checked in on us to see what else we needed and how else they could help, at any hour of the day.

Schitterende plek. Mooi zwembad, groen, uitkijkend over het meer. Mensen die er werken zijn super super vriendelijk. Huisjes liggen wat uit elkaar, prima te lopen (3 min) maar ze hadden een golf karretje die je ophaalde wat onze kinderen fantastisch vonden. Enorme aanrader, zee van rust met een gezellige bar waar je ‘s avonds een spelletje kan spelen en n drankje doen. Uitzicht is waanzinnig en overal aapjes (waar je geen last van had)

Ligt wat verder van restaurantjes. Daardoor veel in de avond in het hotel.

A great way to kick back and relax. Lots of activities. Most amazing food ever for a buffet.

We were asked four times if we really had a booking there because we turned up on scooters and not a tour bus

The property and the surrounding is amazing. It is really beautiful and peaceful. We loved the pool and the cabins were also very nice and comfortable. There are nice tree houses and the view to the lake was really calming. In addition, the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed every minute there!

I didn’t like the need to sign after each meal at the hotel but I definitely understand it. There were also tiny ants in different places and flys that got captured and dropped dead somehow in the bathroom area. It didn’t bother us that much because we knew we’re sleeping surrounded by beautiful nature. One last thing which was less positive was the spa treatments. They weren’t that good. Other than that, we truly enjoyed everything there.

Sinceramente, si quieres experimentar la selva de Sri Lanka sin renunciar a las comodidades modernas, este lugar es una joya escondida. El lugar es enorme y está justo a orillas del lago, así que te alojarás en villas privadas estilo chalet con monos y pájaros por todas partes. El wifi era rápido y fiable, incluso dentro de las habitaciones. La piscina era estupenda y el personal muy amable. Lo único que no me gustó fue que los accesorios del baño estaban un poco anticuados y se notaba el paso del tiempo. Ten en cuenta que está un poco aislado del pueblo principal y que te encontrarás con algunos insectos, ya que estás en plena naturaleza, pero el ambiente tranquilo en general hace que merezca la pena.

This property is amazing. Very well kept. Safe. Peaceful. It’s a walk under the shade of trees, listening to monkeys scurry over the branches, the breeze on your face, the sounds of the waves slashing on the lake.. my serotonin levels were at an all time high. The most relaxed atmosphere I’ve ever experienced in a hotel.

No complaints. There were some critters that entered the room. But this is unavoidable! We were in nature. I didn’t mind at all.

Prachtige chique entree, lekker buffet eten, mooie eetzaal, heel erg fijn en groot zwembad, ping ping tafel, goede buggy service naar de mooie kamers/chaletjes. Hele goede value for money. Mooie ayurvedische salon naast zwembad, ook heel betaalbaar.

Er zijn wel echt een hoop verbeterpunten maar daarom is het denk ik ook zo betaalbaar. Hele slechte Wifi, hele slechte koffie bij het ontbijt, tegen betaling kon je betere koffie bestellen, dit duurde eeuwen, onvriendelijke dame bij de incheck balie wilde onze kinderen de eerste dag geen extra sleutel kaart geven en beweerde dat we de geleende pingpong batjes niet hadden ingeleverd (het waren onze eigen batjes). Op dag 2 van ons verblijf deden al onze 4 sleutelpassen het niet meer. Mijn zoon was al 2 x heen en weer gelopen met verschillende kaarten (in totaal ben je dan dus 25-30 minuten aan het lopen want het is een giga terrein) Ik ging met de 4 passen maar de balie en ze werden door dezelfde onvriendelijke dame geactiveerd. Ik legde uit dat dit nogal vervelend was voor onze zoon maar er kwam geen excuses, niks.. De telefoon van onze andere zoon is uit de kamer verdwenen, hij bleek in de was van hotel te zitten? (Als excuus kregen we een fles wijn, niet echt gepast als je de telefoon van een 11-jarige kwijt maakt. Kom dan met een goedmakertje voor een 11-jarige, zoals een ijsje of zo) het had allemaal een stuk beter gekund.

Schöne weitläufige Anlage mitten in der Natur. Zimmer sehr geräumig mit schöner Terrasse, grossem Bad mit schöner Dusche/Bad. Essen ala Carte nicht überteuert.

Das Restaurant hatte etwa den Charme vom Flughafen Dubai. Etwas "wuselig", und übergross. Sonst war alles perfekt.

Bellissima struttura che si affaccia sul lago Amaya. Casette sparse in un grande parco, bellissima piscina. Servizio ristorante davvero ottimo con molta varietà e soprattutto grande qualità! Personale gentilissimo! Consigliatissimo!

Niente, tutto perfetto!

We stayed one night on our way to Anuradhapura. It was a fantastic experience. The individual apartment was very relaxed and quiet. The staff was amazing. They have been promptly helpful. We liked the restaurant, full of choices and food was delicious. We will visit next time.

The individual cabins are set in a large property thus allowing for privacy. The room was large with a separate lounge area. It was clean and well furnished and maintained. The room contained all necessary amenities. I found the bed comfortable. There were two swimming pools. There was a good selection for the breakfast buffet. All in all the three nights I spent at Amaya Lake were very pleasant and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

It’s very spacious and is located perfectly between Dambulla and Sigiriya.

In case you get a Villa far off from everything it’s a long way to walk but I think they provide a golf cart ride

We had a very enjoyable stay at Amaya Lake. The weather was surprisingly pleasant despite it being around 34°C and humid outside. The resort has a beautiful natural setting, excellent food with plenty of choices, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay.

Only downside was our first night, when there was a function with loud music that continued late into the night and started again early the next morning. This wasn't what we expected from a peaceful nature resort. After we raised the issue, the hotel acknowledged the inconvenience and kindly offered us spa vouchers, which we appreciated. As the resort is surrounded by a lake and forest, wildlife is to be expected. However, we did find a small snake in one of our rooms early on the morning before our departure, which was a little unsettling.
