The Chancellor on Hobson

I loved having access to the pool, spa, sauna and exercise room. The bed was comfortable.

There were people talking loudly in the street during the night which my window didn’t seem to block out at all. There was a kitchenette but only a dishwasher which wasn’t practical to use. I am not going to run the dishwasher for two plates and two spoons after breakfast but I need those things clean for dinner. So more equipment would be useful, or a brush and detergent.

Bed was nice. It was comfortable

The bath over shower was very small, shower curtain hugs you, and was cover in bacteria and mould at bottom of curtain. The tv was via wifi and constantly buffering and stopping.

Loved the location, it was a stone throw away from commercial bay and skycity. The property was maintained to a high standard and I was happy with the facilities.

I would've loved a designated smokers area so I didn't need to stand out the front of the building.

Very tidy view was amazing ill recommend anyone who wants a city view to book here

I stay there a lot and have sent family to stay there, so we are regulars. The lady at reception would not let my partner use the toilet at check in and told him to go up the road

Jug had something on inside, cook top didnt work, blood stains on corner of blanket. Shower cubicle to small, no body wash in shower and everytime opened cupboard all could smell was curry

Location and friendly staff

Location was central.

Was given a room that had a conjoining room. No fault of theirs but the kids in that room were up from 630am and it was impossible to sleep. I got in late and couldnt get in for around 10 minutes as noone was at reception & the towels were clean but stained.

It was a great location near the Sky Tower.

Cleaning smell was very strong

They have finally had a bit of an upgrade in some rooms and just a refurbishment in others. The upgrade we had a week before this one was quite unique, as the bed was fitted into and alcove with glass sliding doors to keep out the noise of traffic. (which was already acceptable)

A unit to put our bags on so you are not bending to ground level all the time. I had recommended another couple book in as well and the manager was too miserable to give the parking free for the night. That couple also recommended another couple as well so indirectly, I was responsible for 2 extra rooms hired out on top of ours.

It was lovely. Very well kept, the room seemed new and had everything we needed, except for scissors and a lower profile pillow option.

The pool had a funny smell. Everything else was great.

Everything was so smooth and easy-going from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our room was lovely, clean, and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend it.

One of our rooms the ranchslider door didn't open and the dishwasher didn't work.

Excellent location near to transport hubs and viaduct. The leisure facilities were great; the pool and spa were very clean and well maintained. The large bed and pillows were very comfortable.

The traffic noise on the 2nd floor was very noisy at night and interrupted our sleep. The single glazed door and windows didnt help, double glazing is a must on such a busy street.

Nothing When I was not able to pay using my credit card they would not accept no another form of payment even though I had cash.

Very unfriendly and extremely unhelpful staff person. I was refused their accommodation when I arrived and had to find another hotel. I gad the cash to pay.

Poor facilities. Empty shampoo etc bottles. Blocked bath drain. Aggressive and wild shower head.

Very friendly and helpful check in staff. Great facilities. Nice hot pool to soak in. Handy to downtown.

Location was excellent for what we wanted to do. Most things were within walking distance. Bed was really comfortable and didn't have much traffic noise (we were on the Sky Tower side).

The shower. Our room had a shower over a small bath and had a shower curtain that stuck to you. Yuck! On returning home and looking at the website, we had booked a studio which should have had a stand alone shower and even the 1-bedroom suite which showed shower over bath had a glass splashguard so don't really know what happened there. Room wasn't reflective of photos on website. Parks were small and tight but still manageable in an SUV as long as car parks weren't full.

The pool was amazing. The staff was very friendly and made checking in and out no very easy.

Shower leaked onto the floor which made the shower and kitchen floors wet. Other guests hair was located in the bedding and bathroom.

The staff were great to deal with. Quick and efficient. Fab was on late afternoon. He deserves a shout out!. We changed room and it took less than ten minutes to complete..he was truly service with a smile.

There was only one set of towels in our room. As there was spa and pool facilities..would have been nice to have extra set on bed or towels available in pool area.

One of the two rooms we booked had a problem with the air con which they fixed during the stay.

Super friendly staff. Loved the gym, sauna and hot pool. Room was cleaned immaculately everyday. Bath tub was a treat. Location is perfect. THANK YOU!!

Good location, excellent reception service, good parking facilities, just a short walk to the Viaduct precinct which is a social hub with many good restaurants and bars.

Lots of traffic noise and police car sirens from the busy street below, and the next room had guests who were also noisy. The walls seem thin and they were continuously talking and laughing loudly amongst themselves until well after midnight and again in the morning (it was not the tv), for two days and nights. It affected our peace and spoiled our enjoyment of the room. Reported the issue to reception who explained they are three older ladies who meet up twice a year. Maybe the ladies were hard of hearing and always have to speak loudly to each other! Regardless, we will think twice before returning to the Chancellor.

Bed was so comfortable, clean and tidy room. Great facilities, I love the spa, pool, sauna, gym. The parking space was perfect. Close to alot of cafes.

Going to see reception each time we wanted to enter pool and gym area. Sometimes reception is busy. I prefer to swipe in.

The staff were friendly and informative. The 24hr front desk was very helpful. There was parking on site. It was a great price for the location and room size. The showers water pressure is perfection!

Parking for the hotel was so far down under the building and that was a bit confusing with upper parking being for the residents of the building only

Great location, walking or cheap uber to everything... The pool and spa facility was lovely, was such a nice treat! The room was so comfortable, surprisingly quiet, comfy bed and pillows, lovely shower pressure, clean and tidy, and I appreciated being able to organise a late check-out.

At check in I was told there were no car-parks even though I'd reserved one at the time of booking. Luckily with a short wait the reception staff was able to get one for me at the very bottom level of the basement. Just added a bit of stress on arrival to be told I didn't have a carpark when I reserved one ahead of time. But it was all sorted.
