Loved the mix of modern and original design , the grounds are amazing!
Nothing
It’s was the best time of my life and it was so nice seeing all of the pictures
Wowwowowowowowowowowowo
All of the manor house staff were fantastic, and the property definitely didn't feel understaffed – like I've seen in other reviews. Someone was always available, and quick to facilitate and requests. Dinner starters, and continental/cooked breakfast were great, and the grounds provide a beautiful Cotswolds escape in the peace and quiet!
Unfortunately we had a couple of areas that could be improved: - The evening meals were tasty but quite expensive (sides included with the £45+ chicken or pork would be great) - Our shower was directly above our bed – unfortunately it had a leak, which caused water to drip onto our pillows - Although there is WiFi available, it could be much better. Not having the ability to work from the poolside was a big miss whilst my partner was enjoying a relaxing day at the spa! All minor points in their own right, but things I'd expect with a £600 per night stay.
Usually very good but not this time
quite disappointing, particularly compared with our previous stay at Cowley Manor, which we really enjoyed. There were also several issues with the facilities during our stay. The pool was closed for treatment, the sauna wasn’t working, and large parts of the walkway and gardens were completely blocked off due to the wedding preparations. Cleaning team already had bags at the door when we came back after breakfast. One of the reasons for staying at Cowley Manor is to enjoy the hotel, spa and grounds, so having several of these unavailable or restricted significantly affected the experience We were charged for drinks that another guest signed on our room at all during our stay while they were at the bar. When I returned to reception to explain that the bill was incorrect, I found the response from the member of staff quite cold and dismissive rather than apologetic or concerned about resolving the mistake I had to convince her to check and she tried to tell me “ but you had the lager and Rosé” I asked her politely to check and show me the evidence .. was no sorry just “ok “
Great location, lovely spa, excellent food, friendly and helpful staff.
We didn't sleep well. There was no sound insulation in our room it was almost as if the other guests were in there as well, also no air con in the room and it was extremely hot when we visited (fan provided). The bathroom is on the floor below with no light switch at the top of the stairs so night time toilet visits are challenging. WiFi isn't the best.
Avoid - I have been coming here for years - it has never let me down until this weekend, when my mother fell down an unlit staircase with no handrail to hold on to for support. The management staff were inexperienced and not equipped to deal with such a severe incident. They offered us approx £30 in free food- a terrible approach for an apology when my mother had to spend more than half the trip in hospital and now has a month or more of recovery ahead of her. Awful experience, terrible management and not what you’d expect from such a beautiful place on paper.
Dirty run down not what the online pictures show
Good food, beautiful grounds, eye catching decor/design, charming location
Aspects of the room felt dated, cheap. Didn’t get a feeling of luxury, and given the price point would’ve expected a higher caliber experience. The pool party, while fun, conflicted with overall experience (given it was a lot of young 20 something’s getting drunk) felt more like a night in Ibiza than a countryside retreat.
We needed a UK break as my husband can’t fly or drive at the moment. The location is stunning, it’s a quirky art deco decorated place we particularly wanted to go somewhere with an outdoor pool in this heatwave.
They obviously can’t install air con it being a listed building but we’d have appreciated a portable air con unit which we saw in another room. The fan we had got us through very warm nights though. The bar man for our last two days (South African) spent more time away from his bar than in it and wouldn’t provide the drinks or service his predecessor did the day before which was exceptional. We enjoyed the food for the BBQ evening but would’ve preferred an informal bbq on the lawn than a formal sit down affair. We noted our wedding anniversary on our booking. It was only when I reminded someone we got any fuss at all. Nothing in the room etc..
Venue, pool, garden.
One of our 4 bathrooms was listed and apparently why it had dodgy taps and rusty bath plug etc
Exceptional design and serene surroundings. Beautiful getaway spot for all the family.
I wish restaurant remained open a bit longer in the evening. Other than that it was a memorable stay.
Everything
Uređenje okoliša i lokacija
Loved the spa
Indoor pool would benefit from a handrail down the access steps, room needs seating and a mirror for drying hair and make up
Amazing grounds and stunning estate
Things were over priced - charges were what I’d expect from a five star not four. Being charged for bath salts with a bat tub in your room is one example!!
The venue is magnificent. The staff are excellent.
A la carte breakfast service was a bit sluggish, but great when it arrived.
Amazing place for weekend escape. Beautiful! Thank you
Spa, both pools and grounds were beautiful Very good kids meal
No air con No outdoor shower next to pool Rooms were dark. Style over function Bathroom leaked Way to expensive Staff inexperienced Very expensive food Not much to do when weather is bad Games room needs updating or more activities for kids
The estate and grounds were the highlight of my stay. The surroundings are absolutely stunning, and the hotel's design is exceptional. The combination of beautiful nature and thoughtful architecture made the experience truly memorable.
The main disappointment was the level of service. The hotel appeared to be understaffed, which sometimes resulted in slow service and a less attentive guest experience than expected for a property of this standard. The restaurant was the biggest disappointment during my stay. The menu lacked variety, and the dining experience did not meet the standard set by the rest of the property. Given the quality and uniqueness of the hotel, I expected a broader selection and a more memorable food offering.restaurant's menu
Beautiful property with stunning views Perfect size rooms / pool / parking / delicious breakfast with perfect choices of local produce
Stuff been rushing around definitely need more ppl at breakfast so its more calm experience matching the relaxed vibe of the property Overall was great place to stay
Beautiful gardens and building . Great to be shown around hotel when one arrives . Room very large with very comfy bed . Breakfast selection and quality great .
Hotel isolated in countryside not near any villages or places to visit . Restaurant overpriced , I do not mind paying expensive prices for 5 star food but this certainly wasn’t . Allowed small ( less than 1 year old ) and probably 2 year old children in restaurant at 8.45 pm . The baby was noisy and was taken out by father . It spoiled the ambiance of the meal for me . I don’t think under 5 year olds should be allowed in the restaurant especially as bar food available. If they are to be allowed should be 6-7 pm so other people who want a quiet meal can avoid those times . Experimental cocktail bar disappointing , not that many alcoholic cocktails on offer . Lots of healthy non alcoholic ones . On leaving had other peoples drinks charged to our room ,need to check signatures more carefully and get samples when people check in . If I had not checked bill could easily paid for multiple extra drinks .
Amazing experience overall! From the decor and room accommodations to the food and service plus the spa and pool, we thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay Cowley Manor. Wonderful place to stay in the Cotswolds!

Beautiful grounds, common area and great food.
Our room was dirty and mouldy, infested with dust mites. The shower was broken and had mouldy silicone. The carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned ever. The blinds didn’t block the light. Felt like a 3* hotel at best.
Great location - the park is really nice. Equally the staff is very friendly. The food and drinks are also good.
If the price had been 30% cheaper I would be writing a positive review - however unfortunately that was not the case and I had higher expectations given the prices. The staff is very friendly but there clearly there are not enough waiters to provide the level of attention you would expect in a hotel with these prices (long waiting times, no glasses at the buffet for breakfast, and just not enough ‘attention’). Similarly, the spa is OK, but not quite what you expect for similarly priced hotels. I have been in many other SPA hotels in the UK with comparable prices (New Forest, Lucknham Park) and unfortunately this doesn’t compare as well.
Amazing grounds, attentive staff and good food options!
Beautiful interiors, friendly staff, lovely breakfast
Kids in the spa pool at the hours we could use it
It’s a real escape to nature, fine dining and pure relaxation. The manor building overlooks incredible grounds, lakes, and streams. I liked being able to have a lovely walk round, and feel relaxed! Staff were incredible too. Really care about each person having a good experience, I’d wanted to stay for some time after a spa day, and so glad we did! The staff knew it was our anniversary and gave us one of the most insane beautiful rooms I’ve possibly ever stayed in. I’d been having quite a tough year, so it was very appreciated.
Genuinely no complaints. It exceeded expectations.
Staff. Spa, gym, quality bar and restaurant in one location.
Noisy. Could hear conversations in the neighbouring room and in corridors, when having a snooze.
The spa
Room quality
Absolutely beautiful hotel. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had an amazing stay for my birthday and I highly highly recommend it.
On the expensive side, especially in room minibar
Location is excellent Staff were friendly and helpful Bedroom was comfortable and well appointed Food and spa were very good
Seating in the dining room was uncomfortable
Well designed
Our room had the following issues Heater stuck on, so woke up sweating and eventually had to open windows. We were on the car park so then was noisy Toilet leaking so floors wet Bath tap leaked Coffee machine broke Some lamps didn’t turn on Bath hand washing tap faulty as well
Room was lovely and great decor Very comfy bed Stunning views from the bedroom Pool was relaxing
The lighting was very poor and not very well lit in the dining areas/bar. We had to use our phone torches to read menus. Pool area was lovely however lacked enough loungers for the amount of guests in the pool We also felt the restaurant was not of a standard it should be and the food was rather poor for the 4star standard of the hotel.
Quirkiness and massive bathrooms, large rooms , hotel grounds
The Spa , cold rooms
Beautiful scenery, excellent service, thoughtful staff and good food. I had a surprise upgrade by their reception for my birthday and they made my stay feel very special. Claire deserves the credit for great service and attention to detail. 5 stars overall!
Breakfast and dinner were good. Just slightly on the small side for portions but great taste and atmosphere.
Good breakfast, pretty building
Didn’t really feel like a hotel with minimal staff around, not much life to it and a bit basic.
Room was uprgraded. Staff attentive. Excellent stay.
Despite limited menu choice, Dinner was good. Bed was extremely comfortable and luxurious bedding. Lovely gardens and view from hotel. Pool and spa facilities very nice.
Aloof staff and lack of customer care. Did not feel comfortable or welcomed. Not shown around the hotel facilities on arrival. Breakfast service and response of staff poor. Food received, not worthy of the cost with little care and attention. Very disappointing indeed.
the grounds were very nice
The rooms were not great - I was given a dark stable room with small windows and my friend had a roof with plywood walls- not what we expected- obviously seems like we were second class guests. There were better rooms.
From the moment we arrived we were upgraded as it was our anniversary which was a lovely surprise. The reception staff were friendly, excellent and professional. The room was amazing, clean, ample room. Throughout our entire stay all the staff from reception, bar, restaurant, cleaners were always smiling and their service was second to none, always with a friendly smile and there was nothing they wouldn’t do for us. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The location was set in its own grounds which were immaculately serviced. There was nothing that anyone could do to improve our stay. I will definitely be booking to stay at Cowley Manor experience Hotel again
We stayed at Cowley Manor to celebrate our anniversary and it was the perfect choice. From the moment we arrived, the setting felt calm and special, with stunning grounds that make you instantly slow down and switch off. The spa was a real highlight, beautifully designed, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing and it felt like a genuine escape from everyday life. Everything about the hotel felt thoughtfully done, from the atmosphere to the comfort, and it’s a truly beautiful place to spend time together. A memorable, relaxing stay and an ideal spot for a special occasion.
It was excellent
Odalar, bahçe, konum ve atmosfer olağanüstü güzeldi.
Yemekler ve spa hayalkırıklığı yarattı.
The food is incredible and so flavorful, I highly recommend trying the restaurant in the evening. I had booked a high-end room, but I was upgraded to the largest suite in the hotel, which I was absolutely delighted about. The garden is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect for exploring the Cotswolds.
I wasn’t able to book a massage because the spa was fully booked, so it’s important to plan in advance. It’s a shame that external guests have the same priority as hotel guests, as this can limit availability for those staying at the hotel.
Cowley Manor makes for a great weekend getaway. The rooms are generous and beautifully refurbished, the spa facilities are extensive (that pool!) and there’s an on-site bar and restaurant if you want to spend the night in. The youthful energy of the hotel pairs perfectly with a cute village pub just down the road.
Gardens are beautiful house very distinctive and very clean
Nice big communal areas…
Not enough light I the room… bar was a bit overdone and could’ve done with better bar food and more normal drinks.
Excellent stay the room was very nice and they even did a nice gesture as it was my partners birthday. Food was amazing and spa was also very good too
There’s was nothing we did not like
Tudo
Nada
The property and grounds were absolutely breathtaking.
Everything was beautiful. The staff were so accommodating. The spa facilities were nice but we’ve been to much nicer and more luxurious previously so I probably wouldn’t attend the spa in future but it was nice.
Loved the stay at Cowley Manor. The staff were all super nice. The older gentleman caretaker is so kind. He was telling us about the property and ensuring everything was safe. The lovely Italian lady at the restaurant and all the staff at the bar were very friendly. The spa was amazing. One of the best Indian Head Massages I've gotten in UK. The room was great. Absolutely no complaints at all. Everything was perfect.
The spa is not part of the hotel and my partner's masseuse was as professional as expected. But even then the hotel took care of us and gave us complimentary drinks. Cowley Manor is a MUST STAY.
