Locatie fijn rustig
De inrichting is gedateerd
Quality hotel, friendly staff, room was spotless and probably the best we have stayed in . The restaurant was excellent, our gammon meals were flawless with great size portions we were both impressed with the staff , very friendly and professional , everyone made our stay one to remember.
Nothing
Comfortable bed and lovely room. Staff all seemed friendly. Beautiful surroundings and gardens
I thought the breakfast was very limited
Room was good, spacious for a superior double. Good, if basic standard. Breakfast was excellent. Evening meal, good.
Bathroom plumbing needed maintenance - toilet flush weak, basin and bath drainage poor.
Beautiful but grounds could do with some attention
Staff were lovely, hotel was clean
standard double room was clean and tidy but a touch on the small side
All fine
Fantastic location and building. Lovely grounds too
Room was average, which for the price was a bit disappointing.
We were offered an upgrade & took an Exec room, which was large, well equipped & comfortable. We loved the location and the restaurant was great. Staff were amazing & couldn’t do enough to help.
The toilet in room 112 needs attention - a pain to flush
Decent food, good breakfast, quiet room and surroundings. Pleasant staff. Problem with tv which was sorted very quickly. Ample easy parking. Would definitely stay again.
Fridge in the room could have been placed on a chest or something rather than just left on the floor. But not much to complain about.
The location was beautiful, the food in the restaurant was delicious, reception staff were very friendly and the bed was comfortable
The room was not very clean there was a stain on the mattress, the walls were paper thin you could hear other guests clearly, the compliments were very poor not enough milk, the coffee and tea were poor quality, they offered a single small bottle of drinking water, you have to buy more, plastic cups and bags in the bathroom, the fan was overly noisy in the bathroom, drink very over priced
Externally it looks very beautiful.
Internally, it looked like a 1980s travelodge.
Absolutely amazing place so clean tidy and comfortable lovely staff and great place to stay
Nothing
Gorgeous location, spacious car park, easy to find from the M4. Staff were all very friendly. Reception was welcoming. Very spacious room.
We were in a room at the back of the hotel with incredibly dated decor and furniture. I felt like I was walking into my granny’s attic bedroom. The room itself was very spacious but it had two tiny attic windows, no air conditioning (only an electric fan on a stand and the furniture was old mahogany with an old fashioned wardrobe and bedside tables - so dated that the bedside lamps were turned on by a rocker switch just below the bulb, same as at my granny’s house (and I’m 60 years old so shows how old the furniture is!). Bathroom was also super old and the only thing that modernised it very slightly is that it was white ceramic rather than pink or avocado!!
Room too small and boxy Terrible coffee Poor breakfast
Good choice for breakfast & good quality of food, ie free range eggs sourced locally. Every member of staff we had contact with were extremely helpful and unfailingly kind. We were at the hotel to attend a funeral nearby & the wake was held at the hotel. We could not have asked for better service or more caring staff.
Lovely property, nice setting.
Nothing
Lovely building and surroundings
Room was small
The comfort of my bed and the fact the bathroom had a bath as well as being a good sized bathroom!
Why do you have a coffee 'machine' in the restaurants. The coffee is never as good and it brings the whole tone of the meal/breakfast down. You may as well be in a cheap cafe.. Parts of the hotel looked a little tired. The pathway from the carpark to the side of the main house, overlooking the parkland had old broken furniture piled up on one side, alongside the remains of an old bonfire. It wasn't a good 'look' .
Location. Staff were very friendly.
Some rooms need updating. Wallpaper peeling off the wall
Everything was great, friendly and helpful staff, good evening meal.
Nothing
It’s in an old mansion in the middle of a park . The staff was polite and helpful. It’s well maintained and clean.
The house was gutted of all its charm and the decor is very outdated.
Beautiful scenery and love the conservatory
Small room that could do with updating
I did not avail myself of the dinner or breakfast as I had made other plans but both were offered to me ahead of time. Although I had booked a room for one adult for one night there was a double bed and refreshments enough for two. In terms of the bathroom, again it was a very good size offering a combination bath and shower facilities.
There was nothing I didn't like
Il giardino e le parti esterne.
Le camere troppo piccole.
Stunning hotel beautiful surroundings. Plenty of parking . Friendly staff . We didn't really use facilities such as breakfast or lunch restaurant. However it did look nice . Lovely seating area outside overlooking views . Room serviced daily and topped up refreshments. Would definitely return .
I would say I didn't like it. It was just an observation that rooms look like they could do with some improvement. Especially bathroom sink taps and shower head look rusty as well as the bathroom radiator. However it was clean . TV had wires all hanging down behind wall mount. The room had a small refrigerator that was randomly placed just on the floor on entrance.
It was in a lovely countryside location, the room had aircon. The breakfast was good.
The room was quite small, not much room at the side of the bed. Room had no fridge.
Real Old house
The house was maintained as if the hotel is not making money. Lighting in the lift were not working properly, lift looks cheap (loud), telephone in the room cannot even reach the reception - not sure there’s always no reception or the phone is always out of order.
Lovely location near enough to M4 to break the journey. Friendly and helpful staff. Dinner menu OK (but not worth travelling for). Good breakfast buffet.
The room was just big enough to hold the double bed!
Location. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Room far too small. Had we been large people it would not have been manageable.
Lovely hotel with really nice surroundings. Staff were outstanding, but they really need a new chef, the food was not good. And they drastically need to reduce the prices of their drinks, a complete rip off
Clean & very comfortable

While the property is located in beautiful and perfect surroundings, I feel there are several areas that do not reflect a 4-star standard. First, the rooms were far too small for two people, leaving very little space to move. Although clean for the most part, there were numerous cobwebs, and the furniture and fittings were either faulty or in poor condition. These issues could be easily rectified with more attention from housekeeping and maintenance staff. Additionally, the carpets along the first-floor corridors were stained and look very dated. Regarding the restaurant, while the food itself was very good, I was surprised that a 4-star establishment serves condiments in plastic sachets. Furthermore, the staff began setting up the restaurant for breakfast while guests were still finishing their evening meals, which felt inappropriate for the setting. Overall, while it is a lovely location, the current experience aligns more with a 2- or 3-star hotel, not the 4-star advertised.
The location and grounds were excellent for a comfortable overnight stay
Should have stayed longer
Ontbijt was goed, personeel vriendelijk.
Breakfast and evening meals were good
Room was a little small
Gorgeous Location, air conditioning in the room.
On arrival at 11.30 pm at the Stanton House hotel by a full coach were met by lovely receptionist she was very pleasant and polite to all the people we were in our room in about 10 minutes the room was spotless tea and coffee was provided and a carton of fresh cool spring water which was much needed we both had a fantastic night sleep in a very comfortable bed the next morning we went down for our breakfast and we were not disappointed with the food it was of high quality and freshly cooked all the staff were amazing after breakfast we had a leisurely walk around the beautiful grounds we would highly recommend this hotel and we will go back a massive thanks to all the staff
The hotel was lovely as was the surrounding area. Very clean and the staff were all very helpful. However the room we were given as part of our Travel zoo deal was very disappointing. Although spotless and newly decorated, it was tiny. It was impossible to walk around the bed and getting dressed or ready to go out was almost impossible. For this reason it was necessary to pay extra and move to a better room. The new room was an improvement but we weren't happy that we had to move and pay an increased rate. When we were getting ready for dinner I found the hairdryer didnt work. Jemma who was on reception did her best to rectify it. This meant either another change of room or drying my hair in another room. The problem wasn't fixed next day but I was found a hairdryer that wasn't fixed to the wall which was fine. Breakfast was good quality and plentiful. We only ate in the hotel one evening and it was a little disappointing but again it was recited quickly by Holly. All in all we had a lovely stay. The staff enhance the stay experience. I our case particularly Jemma and Holly who went out of their way to help and chat.
Stunning venue never disappoints. Very accommodating.
The building and the grounds (other than the parking lot) are lovely .
The rooms and the interior , eg stairwells and halls are terribly dated and need a complete renovation. Very unkept..
Excellent room, really comfortable and quiet AC.
Grounds were very nice, but a little tired.
Excellent accommodation with very friendly and welcoming staff!
Nothing to report
After finding this hotel online we decided to book as it was quite close to the Cotswolds. The website and photos sold it as it looked amazing online. Unfortunately, we were left a little disappointed. The grounds were nothing like the photos suggested. I understand the weather has left the grass brown and dry but the whole outside area looked really tired. I’m not sure if the hotel owns the walk around the lake but it was so scruffy. The flower beds were all dead and overgrown with weeds. There was random rubbish, broken sheds, flower pots with old weeds planks of wood thrown on the ground, the pond has been left to rot, again old plant pots with weeds in, filled with algae. It’s a shame as it could be beautiful if it was cared for. Outside the conservatory where you can sit and have a drink there was a lot of discarded cigarette buts on the floor but no ashtrays so that’s probably why but keeping areas like that tidy make all the difference. Our room was a double but extremely small, it was difficult to get ready in that space. The restaurant was nice, all of the staff in all areas of the hotel were very pleasant but the hotel itself didn’t have much atmosphere. All in all it was ok for one night but definitely not 4 star. Tidy up the grounds and that will make a huge difference.
Location of in a natural sanctuary
Hotel can have more dining options
Very good value for the cotswolds. Beautiful location.
No electric vehicle charger
Rooms were outdated but otherwise our stay was lovely!
Room was clean and mostly comfy
Service was pretty terrible in both bars
The setting
Rooms a bit tired
Otelin arazisi keyifliydi.
It's location
The bars, I'm not fond of having a bar in a greenhouse and the second bar in the corner of the restaurant is lacking personality
Great location and friendly and helpful staff
We booked a double room and the room was way too small for 2 people.
Beautiful setting and lovely staff
Unfortunately, my room was located directly above one of the hotel’s social areas. Guests were talking and socialising until around 12:30–1:00am, making it difficult to get to sleep. I eventually had to call reception who dealt with the situation promptly, but it was disappointing that it took a complaint before the noise was addressed. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was to avoid the late-night noise you often expect with pub style accommodation, so this was a real shame.
My family and I stopped for a drink whilst walking. Charlie is an absolute pleasure. He is lovely, polite and very good a his job. Thanks Charlie
Beautiful building, nice room but not exceptional. Welcoming staff.
Breakfast room to big and commercial for a boutique hotel. Didn’t match the rest of the stay
Beautiful location, very peaceful and welcoming. The food was also divine, I will definitely be back.
Leaving
Very nice stay
Could do with paint and carpets doing
Room small, but clean with all we could want. Lots of plugs. Buffet breakfast with a range of hot food, pastries and fruit. Lovely grounds to wander around. All staff we saw friendly but professional.

Staff and comfort
Breakfast was very basic
We would all like to thank the hotel for a wonderful couple of days and in particular thank the staff for the excellent service with Rebecca who served us whiskey till 2 o’clock in the morning at the top of the list. Thank you all very much. What a great hotel you have here. Lord Lagden, Chairmen of The Exeats CC
Location and ambience was excellent
Midweek prices are high
Beautiful place. Staff very friendly.
Thought breakfast was a little expensive at £15 per person
Amazing character building and surrounding grounds are beautiful too. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choices Would definitely recommend
Exceptional hotel located next to Stanton Park The meals very of a very high standard The staff were very professional and helpful I would be happy to stay here again and recommend the hotel to my friends
The room could have been bigger
Kettle was broke and not much joy trying to check out
Woke up night porter who was not happy
The location, surroundings and staff
Very very small room and tepid breakfast
Nothing exciting about this hotel with Japanese influence in recent years. A nicely proportioned property has had an extensive extension which has created a rabbit warren interior. As one unit it is attractive on the eye and the adjacent Church gives a hint of a hamlet. The room - executive twin - two double beds plus - is huge. The bathroom has a large bath and a walk in shower and is appropriately furnished. It is however on the top floor and the lift is questionable. The dining room on entrance looks modern and fresh but then the realisation of artificial greenery on each and every table makes a mockery of the hotel with a sunken garden full of fresh flowers. The menu has sufficient offerings to be able to eat in comfort. How on earth have we allowed the burger and chips brigade to take over in the kitchen. The answer to that question is to watch the mounds of grub being served. The sea bass was tasty. A popular mess - quite rich - followed by coffee from a machine that lacks the ability to serve decaffeinated. But it was post supper that the hotel came into its own. A ha ha stops an extensive walk to the yonder lake but there are sufficient grounds to walk off a meal. Tables and chairs placed beneath a giant tree with accompanying pigeons is the perfect place to sit and chat to fellow guests. Stanton House has its torn wallpaper and signs of wear and tear but it provides one with sufficient comfort to enjoy one stay. Nothing outstanding but comfortable.
Not a lot really, breakfast was very poor, poor quality food, the first bedroom offered you couldn't swing a cat in, then got charged £15 extra per night for upgrade.
Everything to be honest, the price was way to high for the hotel experience, I would not have been happy paying half the amount.
Lovely converted Manor House in nice surroundings
Nicely furnished & comfortable
Outdoor space Food in restaurant
Internet very bad, no signal on tv in room. Staff doing their best when understaffed. No umbrellas on outside tables in extreme heat for shade
Beautiful house set in a former estate park. Receptionist was incredibly helpful and good natured.
It is very clear that this former manor house is well overdue a renovation, whilst everything worked the decor is out of date, rooms are basic (bed was too soft). With exception of the receptionist and breakfast waitress the staff were not particularly customer focused, order requests were taken and then forgotten, dinner was average and whilst we were eating staff were banging and scraping furniture setting tables for breakfast. Without warning the bar was closed at 21:30. Such a shame that this beautiful building is being used so poorly!.
Air Conditioned Room. Good food in the restaurant. Surrounding parkland and walks.
Compulsory service charge added in the restaurant. Optional service charge would be better.
Great place to stay and will definitely go back sometime
All good no issues
Grounds were nice. Staff were pleasant.
Food at dinner wasn't worth the price. Chicken was overcooked.
Clean room and very beautiful grounds
Nothing
Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. An oasis of calm attached to a country park. Wonderful staff throughout with warm friendly approach and nothing was too much trouble. Large clean and comfortable room, great breakfast choice and a range of good evening meals. Keen to learn that they may be adding car chargers in the future. A perfect few days for my wife's birthday with special thanks to Gemma for helping with the present! Highly recommended. Paul & Eileen Merrison
A great place to stay and fantastic food
All good nothing not to like
the room was very small but it was clean and slept well. TV channel options are random. Air-con worked well (it was 33 degrees outside). elevator lights need fixing but there is a notice explaining. the restaurant is very very good :)
shower attachment and bathroom overall dated with the shower over the bath.
Setting was lovely and was comfortable.
The bathroom was needing renewed - hand basin was chipped, radiator was rusty and taps corroded on basin.
Friemdly and comfortable stay.
The air conditioning was not working.
Loved the size of our executive twin. The breakfasts and dinners were very good The countryside setting and access to outside were lovely The garden areas directly outside the windows were lovely. The public areas were well laid out. Reception was very helpful
The lift lights were not fixed during our stay and went down to one emergency bulb which was flickering. Many of the paths and steps outside are very uneven and in places broken, not very safe! The gardens have at some time been beautiful, it would have been lovely to see them maintained even those not directly visible from a window. Whenever we went into the conservatory area e.g. on arrival for tea it was closed so we had to use the resteraunt, it did look a nice place to sit. The d
Staff were very accomodating and tge lication , facilities were great
Lovely hotel. Nice mixture of new and old style. Beautiful scenery. What really makes it though are the staff. Super friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and dinner. We upgraded to room 401. Get it if you can!
Great location, beautiful setting. Hotel could do with a little bit of TLC throughout but nothing wrong as such. Attentive and helpful service, yummy food.
Restaurant manager (?) overdid checking up on me, his staff had it all in hand, and I am capable of dealing with my napkin myself. He should have focussed on offering me a spoon for my spaghetti instead.
Great location
Room small, bed small, standard double
Settings beautiful, building superb
Shower needs updating, Aircon not working. WiFi needs to be connected continuously.
Beautiful building and grounds ; very nice receptionist ....hotel used to be associated with the Honda car factory next door but since that closed not sure who it serves ....; slightly strange smell !! Room small but clean ...
Weird smell ,but dated but I like the place
We have used Stanton House Hotel on numerous occasions for our Board meetings, Board dinners, and overnight stays, and the service is consistently exceptional. The team is always incredibly helpful, accommodating, and genuinely cares about their guests. Organising Board events often involves coordinating multiple rooms, meeting facilities, and a range of dietary requirements and food intolerances, and the hotel staff always handle these requests with professionalism and attention to detail. Nothing ever seems too much trouble, and their willingness to go above and beyond ensures that every visit runs smoothly. The quality of both the facilities and the dining experience is excellent, making Stanton House Hotel our preferred venue for Board meetings and events. I would highly recommend Stanton House Hotel to anyone looking for a welcoming, professional venue with outstanding customer service.
Dinner was excellent.
