What a fantastic place to stay. This converted prison has everything. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfasts and dinners included in the price were excellent and catered well for gluten and lactose free requirements.

My only suggestion is that the hotel make their wifi secure. It is an open wifi....

Excellent facilities and great location, quiet area but by a tram stop (10mins from centre)

Nothing at all

Hotel was very interesting in that it was housed in a former prison. It is right on the tram line so very convenient to travel downtown and can even get to the cruise ship terminal with a few transfers. The hotel has and excellent comprehensive breakfast and a nice dinner (supper) included in the price of the stay. The staff were friendly. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious. It was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the downtown Market Square. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

while the bed was comfortable, I feel it could have been more firm, but this is a personal choice. other than this I cannot find fault with the hotel.

Great fun being in an ex prison. Really interesting conversion. Kept some of the original cells (not for guests 😄). The included buffet meals were very tasty. Thank you for including dinner as standard as pretty expensive in Helsinki. We had the junior suite with the sauna (never had so many saunas 😆). Beds comfy. Quiet location. Lots of gluten free food 👏👏

Got an upgrade at a supposedly cheaper rate (my birthday) but turned out not really when i checked on latest prices. Thought they might have thrown that in.

The breakfast was served from 8am on Sundays and that is late when you have to travel early. I got a doggybag but that was not worth the value at all.

Aamiainen oli erinomainen. Ruokailutila mukava, rauhallinen. Hotelli hiljainen, huone kokonaisuudessaan hyvä.

Immersion dans une prison heureusement réhabilité en hôtel confortable et atypique attention les fenêtre ne s’ouvrent pas cela peut être une difficulté pour les personne claustrophobe. Pour le reste il est bien situé à la fois au calme et toute la ville peut se visiter à pied.

Es ist ein ehemaliges Gefängnis und man kann immer noch einige sehr gut erhaltene Überbleibsel begutachten. Das Essen ist der Absolute Wahnsinn, einfach nur lecker obwohl die Auswahl nicht wie in anderen Hotels ist, war das Abendessen vorzüglich und die Suppe so köstlich, dass ich heute noch davon träume. Das Frühstücksbuffet bietet alles was man sich wünscht und ist ebenfalls großartig. Das Personal war sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Meine Mama und ich kommen gerne wieder.

Lovely hotel, comfortable bed and the food was very good. Perfect location for us as we had come to watch a concert which was only a 10 minute walk away. Would highly recommend staying here.

Superb refurbishment of an old prison- hugely atmospheric room but still comfortable. Also an excellent location with a tram stop immediately outside. Easy walking distance to the market square and ferry to Suomenlinna. Breakfast was excellent. We didn't take advantage of the free dinner but if you were on a budget this would undoubtedly be a perk. Staff at reception were very helpful and cheerful.

Understandably for a prison windows are high up (we had one little lower down one) so not good for staring out at the scenery. But rooms as very light and we felt the fun of staying in a converted prison more than made up for it.

The building is awesome. The ex-prison gives an awesome experience. The breakfast was very good. The dinner was okay. Nothing special but excellent for the money. The room was spacios and the bed was very comfortable.

Es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir noch eine weitere Nacht angehängt haben. Ein sehr originelles Hotel mit Geschichte. Gutes Frühstück, Fika und Abendessen inklusive.

Das man die Fenster nicht öffnen kann, aber schließlich schläft man in einem ehemaligen Gefängnis.

La posizione è eccezionale per la vicinanza a tutte le attrazioni principali di Helsinki e soprattutto per chi, come noi, prendeva poi il traghetto per andare a Tallin il cui imbarco è letteralmente a due passi. La struttura da ex carcere è originalissima e, dato il muro di cinta, è estremamente silenzioso. La sala per colazione e cena, nel seminterrato, è bellissima con tutti i mattoni rossi a vista. La colazione è molto valida, la cena molto meno data la scarsa varietà.

Gli unici dettagli che non ho apprezzato sono che le finestre in camera non si aprono, che la cena fornisce praticamente un'unica scelta e che, come sempre all'estero, il bagno non ha il bidet.

Struttura molto bella e ristrutturata, camera confortevole. Bollitore con tè/caffè in camera e bagno con tutto l'occorrente. Comoda la possibilità di avere colazione e cena presso la struttura, molto conveniente considerando i prezzi finlandesi! L'hotel è vicino alla Kauppatori e proprio davanti all'ingresso c'è la fermata del tram, quindi è stato semplice raggiungere la struttura anche dalla stazione, con le valige.

Mi è piaciuto tutto, forse si potrebbe migliorare la varietà della cena. Sicuramente la colazione è più fornita rispetto al buffet della cena, che è piuttosto limitato.

Das Hotel würde ich jederzeit wieder buchen. Super ruhig und zentral zugleich. Tolle Betten. Frühstück, Fika und Abendessen im Preis dabei. Mir hat es wunderbar geschmeckt. Einfach genial hier zu übernachten.

la struttura unica dal design interessante e unico. Camere spaziose, Buona colazione, cena un poco " creativa" , il piatto principale era uno solo.

Poca flessibilità nell'accoglienza, per il check in in anticipo di un'ora ci hanno richiesto € 30.00 a persona e quasi non gradivano che lasciassimo le valigie.

Hotel ubicado al lado del puerto con lo que ai vienes de Tallin es perfecto! Una antigua cárcel comvertida en hotel con gran encanto. Desayuno y cena estupendos

We loved this unique hotel in a former jail. The jail had been thoughtfully and stylishly refurbished. We enjoyed the nods towards its previous use, like the tin style cups to drink water in. As well as original items from the jail on display and exploring the isolation and group cells. The bedroom was large with a good sized bathroom containing a bath. The breakfast great with lots of different options and we found it easy to navigate central Helsinki from here. The tram stop is right outside which was a definite bonus.

These are minor drawbacks, but we found the complimentary dinner lacked variation. We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night, Sunday was chefs special and seemed to be what they had excess leftover from the week. We ended up having chicken drumsticks both nights. Travelling with children there was limited food that they would eat. We couldn’t get the USB and USC chargers to work in the room and there were limited normal plugs.

Hyvä hinta/laatu-suhde, loistava sijainti, fika oli hauska keksintö. Huoneet siistit ja viihtyisät. Bonusta pihalle parkkeeraamisen mahdollisuudesta (maksullinen toki, mutta käytännöllinen).

Hän joka on päättänyt lattiamattojen kuosin, sietäisi saada potkut...

Sijainti oli hyvä. Hotelli miljöönä ihana ja siinä on paljon potenttiaalia.

Henkilökunta tiskillä oli todella töykeäö. Mitään ruuista, palveluista tai edes huoneen tai aamupalan sijainnista ei kerrottu. Paikanpäällä selvisi, että myöskään sauna ei ollut käytössä. Hinta ei täsmää sen kanssa mitä saat. En palaa tähän paikkaan. Myöskään aamupala tai illallinen ei ollut edes Scandicin tasoista. Munakokkeli syömäkelvotonta. Sänky liian pehmeä. Suihku ei toiminut kunnolla, vessa vuoti vettä lattialle sekä istuinrengas oli irti.

Schönes, ausreichend großes Zimmer, sehr bequeme Betten, alles sauber. Im Zimmer ist es außergewöhnlich ruhig, man hört keine Nachbarn oder Geräusche aus dem Flur. Frühstück und Abendessen sehr gut. Sehr freundliches Personal Direkt vor dem Haus die Straßenbahn, Zentrum ist auch sehr gut fußläufig zu erreichen

Das Hotel hatte ein außergewöhnliches Design, als umgebautes und wunderbar modernisiertes Gefängnis war es einzigartig.

Es war eigentlich alles sehr schön, es gab nur zwei kleine Kritikpunkte: das Licht im Speisesaal könnte etwas heller sein. Und man konnte leider die Fenster in den Zimmern im dritten Stockwerk nicht öffnen.

Bijzonder om in een oude gevangenis te slapen. Van alle gemakken voorzien maar nog goed herkenbaar als gevangenis Het ontbijt was erg goed

Het diner zit bij de prijs inbegrepen, je kiest dus niet snel voor een restaurant en eet dan wat het buffet serveert (wij hadden rijst met curry)

Just about everything including decent included breakfast and dinner. Second visit. Lots of character and good staff. Thick prison walls guarantee quietness and big comfy beds ensure a good sleep.

Powder(?) scrambled egg. Shower over bath may not suit some folks.

The fact that meals were included was very unusual and very much appreciated. Thank you for this!

Vicinissima al porto, struttura affascinante e restaurata con eleganza. Colazione e cena ottime, anche se per la cena c’era meno scelta. Possibilità di parcheggio.

Non c’era il frigo in camera. Il costo della birra da mezzo litro era di 12€

Sauna only open publicly at weekends which I missed.

It was a prision so it looks very interesting, something different. The location is good and the room was clean. Food is very good and tasty,however, see what i didn't like about the food.

As mentioned above food was good and tasty,however, the breakfast was the same all the time and not many choices. The shower didn't have any tray to put shampoo or soap so everything has to be in the floor and lastly the shower water pipe had significant leakage. Rooms are tad small.

Het personeel was behulpzaam (maar geen woord te veel zeggen. Dat doen de Finnen niet). Schoon hotel en (eenvoudige) warme maaltijd was bij de prijs inbegrepen. Sfeervol omdat het een voormalige gevangenis is. Openbaar vervoer (tram) voor de deur en snel naar centrum Helsinki.

De kwaliteit van de warme maaltijd was beperkt. Wat meer keuze graag. Er werd wel op verzoek gekeken naar alternatieven. Ontbijt was enigszins beperkt in keuze.

Ein besonderer Ort und sehr freundliches Personal. Besonders hat uns auch gefallen, dass ein gutes Abendessen inklusive war, mit frischen Produkten und veganen Alternativen. Das Hotel liegt zwar außerhalb des Zentrums, aber ist gut mit der Bahn und zu Fuß erreichbar.
