Just on the edge of the town so avoided the main traffic. Being there for only 4 nights unfortunately didn’t get to experience all of the facilities, as we were out all day exploring the surrounding areas. We only tried one of the two in-house restaurants but the food was good. Also ate at the bar, again good food & nightly entertainment from local solo musicians. There’s a games room for kids, gym, pool & jacuzzi & pool tables in the bar area.
It had been reported , but we were at the rear on the third floor. A large tank was continually overflowing, apparently with a faulty valve, but it sounded like overflowing guttering constantly when in or room. Could have done with a couple more disabled parking spaces as we had a long walk one night to the entrance as both were taken.
Enjoyed the pool and steam room plus the breakfast. Nice big room too.
Somewhat dated decor.
The staff were friendly and helpful where they could. Good location, close enough to walk into Ennis.
Our room was tiny, compared to the photo of the room I thought I had booked, it was old and dingy. Facilities were dated, our iron leaked water and they gave us a reply that was really old. We didn’t sleep well any night as all we could hear were people walking in the rooms above us. Cleaners were very loud in the morning in the hallway. Bed was very uncomfortable. Also we were coming back at around 2-3am and the only way we could get into the building was to call a number. Both of us could not call as we have SIM cards that don’t allow that so we had to bang on the door for 30 mins until someone came to let us in. There is a phone on the wall that says to dial 0 to get access but this phone does not work! Overall, I feel like I paid way too much for the quality of this place. There has been no money reinvested into this place for many years and it shows. It felt like a cheap motel. It’s extremely outdated. Friendly staff; good menu; super facilities.
Awful sleep!!! Woke up at 3am by someone in the adjacent room snoring?! Awful insulation and have never experienced this before.
Place was nice
Price,my friend had the same room for 70 euros cheaper, didn't like that and I think that money should be refunded
The location of the property was only a short drive from the town centre, but the restaurant and bar onsite meant that we chilled out in the evening there instead of venturing into Ennis town. There was a lovely atmosphere around especially with all the children and young families I found there was a lovely mix of all age groups which was great! The food was absolutely stunning and the staff were lovely!
In terms of the room I do feel the bathroom could do with a bit of upgrading. The sink was cracked as were tiles on the floor. The room itself was lovely however the mattresses were very hard. The family room we had was a bit tight for space however it did us fine.
highly recommended if you are driving north from Shannon airport and you want a great place to stay
I just want to share the amazing experience we had here at this hotel me my wife and 3 kids stayed for 2 nights. Hotel was spotless the staff were amazing and a special mention to Jason behind the bar and 2 girls on reception when we booked I think Holly and Lorraine. Kids club fantastic my boys had an amazing time and we are already booked back in for the mid term in October.
Chambres spacieuses et dispose d’une grande piscine et d’une grande salle de fitness. Le personnel est très aimable.
It was fine and needed an overnight stay. Unfortunately the mattress on the single bed was very uncomfortable. Everything else was ok. The staff were excellent and friendly
Pool, darts and golf were fun
Everything is old and rickety. The bathrooms are very dated and broken/failing. The bunkbed was loud and rickety, feeling like it was about to break. Beds were uncomfortable, pillows flat and hard and not enough of. I couldn’t phone reception because the phone first of all was disconnected, when I connected it there was no dial tone! Couldn’t get food after 9pm as the kitchen was closed!
Location.
Beds not made properly sheets hanging out and bunks didnt seem clean. Only 2 sets of towels for 4 guests..we left after 2nd night because it wasn’t comfortable and I didn’t think it value for money I spent!!!!
The back bar where the pool tables were
The pool area was run down the breakfast was shit definitely no worth the price the room was not like it was shown online the place was very rundown..
For a busy hotel, it was quiet at night. Little to no noise from outside and neighbouring rooms.
Bar food was not good and very over priced. Did not eat in the restaurant after this so cant comment. Drinks service poor, no gin glasses, served gin in a wine glass, no straws at bar. Decor very shabby and out dated. Furniture is old and dirty. Walls and stairwells need painting. Room also needs updating, two sockets not working and not enough sockets in room, fan broken, chain on room door and bathroom door lock broken. Stain on carpet. Hairs found in room. Cobwebs and spiders in room. Bed linen bobbly and needs replacing. Not enough pillows provided and ones that were there were flat and very uncomfortable. Bath mat dirty and bath side panel flaking, ceiling in room paint flaking off. Generally not cleaned to an acceptable standard. Vending machine on corridor not refilled. Grounds around hotel and carpark not kept well, need to be cleaned up.
Room was 26deg with 2 kids it was so uncomfortable no one slept got a fan it was useless..asked to b moved next morning we did get a cooler room but overall it took from our break away
In June-July this year, we had a wonderful 7-day trip called the Grand Tour of Ireland, during which we stayed in six different hotels. One of them was a beautiful 4-star hotel in Tralee - The Rose Hotel; others were less luxurious but quite nice 3-star hotels. However, when we arrived in Ennis and entered Treacys West County Hotel, it became clear that the rating is hugely inflated. It's a very big hotel in need of a total renovation. It definitely looks like they haven't done any work on this hotel for at least twenty years. I worked in the hotel business for 18 years in different European countries, so I know what I'm talking about. Yet, that is not the reason I’ve decided to write this review. The reason was the attitude of some of the staff of the Treacys Hotel. We arrived at the hotel on 1 July after a very long and wonderful drive from Donegal with several stops, and all of us were very tired but excited to go and watch England's second World Cup game against DR Congo. A few of the group decided to meet at the bar and watch the game on a big screen, but most people, including me and my friend, wanted to watch it while relaxing in our rooms. We already knew which Irish channels broadcast the games. To my disappointment, those channels were not available on the TV set in our room. I went to the reception to ask them how to get one of those channels, and the young receptionist promised to send someone to help us. A technician came and tried for about 20 minutes to download new channels, but could not find them. In the meantime, the game already started. We went back to the reception, where I was told by the same receptionist that she couldn’t change our room as they were fully booked and that to change our TV set she had to talk to the manager. While she was telling me all that, another person approached us. She didn’t introduce herself, but I assumed that she was a manager, because she heard what the receptionist was telling me and started talking to me with real authority. She said that there were no vacant rooms and even if there were, it would not help me as none of the rooms received the required channel (RTÉ One – the main TV channel in Ireland!), and suggested that to watch the game I go either to the bar or another room where a couple of people were playing pool. When I asked why it was impossible to have that channel in the rooms, she said that the owner of the hotel himself set the system like that (!), and there was nothing they could do to help me. By that time, I had no energy or any wish to listen to more of the nonsense this lady was giving me or to argue with them, so I decided to return to our room and watch the game on my iPad. Just as I was approaching our room, I met another tourist from our group. She told me that her husband was watching the game in their room, but she decided to go for a walk. I went back with her to the reception. They saw us approaching, and before I had time to say anything, the ‘manager’ said that she just found out (!) that in one of the rooms (!) they could install that channel. She said, ‘Give me 10-15 minutes, I’ll come and tell you which room you can move to.’ By the time she came and gave us a key to a room two doors away from our room, the first part of the game finished. She put the TV on, and we could see that it (of course!) had RTÉ One. Then she turned to us and said, ‘Now we need to find somebody to come and clean your room again.’ I felt very sorry for her and was ready to suggest that my friend and I could do it after the game was over. )) It is a shame that not all the personnel in that hotel are properly trained in how to sort out various situations that constantly take place in hotels, how they must not talk in a patronising way to their guests, and show more respect to them. And most importantly, that they should never lie to their guests and feed them with such rubbish. Later that night, the same ‘manager’ was helping in serving our dinner, but this time she avoided looking me in the eyes…
The location
They scheduled construction below our room without telling us. The week previously to this we also stayed and they turned off the hot water
We had another fantastic stay at the hotel and, as always, everything was great from start to finish. The food in the bar was really good and we really enjoyed our meals. The whole stay was lovely and relaxing, and we couldn't have asked for more. Kids club is brilliant and the girls there always look after our boys so well. A special mention has to go to Helena, who as always goes above and beyond for us. We always feel so well looked after when we stay here. Another brilliant stay and we are already looking forward to coming back again!
Hotel was in a great location food was good facilities were good lots for the kids to do . Found close to everything we wanted to do . The swimming pool the kids enjoyed it .
Have being going to this hotel over 20 years with my wife and 7kids and lately with my grandchildren everything about the hotel is first class
This is our third night here to b honest I b gone home after first night if it wasn't for the kids. Rooms outdated smell from room. Not clean dirty glasses and forks and knives some of the staff aren't the nicest. Kids not allowed to play pool are golf which is ridiculous. Went to go to the pool today and kids not allowed in after 7. Won't b back
The property looked very worn on arrival , faded plastic flowers at the entrance to a hotel is never a good look, the bedroom was clean but the leisure facilities were absolutely shocking , the changing rooms have big chunks peeling off the bottoms of the walls , the doors all damaged where they have been kicked open instead of opened by hand , the pool had green algae growing on some walls inside , tiles missing off the floor of the pool and the drain fitted around the outside of the pool to allow overflow pour back in was broken in several places , it was the worst I’ve ever seen , we decided against eating there , on check out we weren’t asked what we thought or was everything ok so I didn’t complain because realistically the issues in the hotel are solely managements problem , young staff members could do nothing about the state of the “hotel” we stayed 4 nights in a different 3 star hotel and the differences are mind blowing , I wouldn’t stay there for free and definitely would not recommend it , it’s not fit to be open in my opinion, shocking
Overnight stay after a concert in limerick. Hotel was convenient very reasonable and staff very pleasant. Room was comfortable and the breakfast was hot and delicious.

We arrived for a 2 day family stay and its such a great hotel for familes with the pool and entertainment at night in the bar .. food and service in the bar very good . We will be booking again with the bunk beds so handy in the family rooms
Hotel poskytuje snad vsechny myslitelne sluzby, pokoje jsou prostorne, snidane bohata, parkovani u objektu.
v koupelne vana a plastovy zaves ... to uz je dnes trochu prezitek.
Loved the leisure suite. The room was cosy and comfortable. The bar food meal was lovely especially the roast beef.
N\A
No air conditioning room very stuffy and warm
Quiet and very comfortable accommodation.
Nill
This hotel was grubby, situated in a car park, cracked tiles, dirty furniture. Think neglected old peoples home. Not sure if it deserves three stars made me feel a bit sick. I think I might move into my bathroom - it’s clean.
Great place. Comfy beds. Room was perfect size and accessible. Pillows were a bit rubbish but overall a great stay
Le personnel, le déjeuner le bar ainsi que la piscine
Nous avons averties 3 fois que la douche etait bloquer et personne n’est venus la réparé

Very good lovely hotel lovely staff
Location
Good
The staff were so incredibly friendly and welcoming. Rooms are clean and the leisure centre was perfect for relieving a few hungover heads. Highly recommend this place for anyone travelling to Ennis. I'll most definitely be back some day!
Breakfast very good value, location easy to find.
No bottle water in room.
Great location, walking distance from the town. Check out at 12pm was brilliant. Very spacious rooms

Good location and staff
Rooms were dated small bathrooms
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is in a good location and had great facilities for children.
Lovely staff, nice handy location to Ennis nice pool sauna steam room and jacuzzi was great.
Very comfy beds Helpful staff
Overall a very tired appearance to the hotel and facilities. Bathroom fittings didn’t all work properly or as expected. Special dietary needs were hopelessly catered for to the extent of being a potential risk. Menus were very basic and the food inedible in some cases. Definitely won’t be going back.
Stayed in the West County Hotel Ennis from 27th - 29th May we had a lovely time everything was to our satisfaction lovely staff very helpful, when we were checking in we were informed by the lady at reception we had been upgraded lovely airy comfortable room we would like to give a special mention and thank you to Helena beautiful breakfast and we also had our evening meals in the hotel. The stay was great value as it was a spring break special and we were able to avail of thr social dancing on a wednesday night and entertainment in the bar every night Thanks again for everything hope to stay with ye again very soon. Helen Ryan.
Decent location to the airport. Rooms were comfortable.
Facilities were dated.
Just back from a 3 day trip, hotel was very friendly with the excellent staff. Bar food was good and had live entertainment every night.
For our purposes hotel was decent. Rooms were dated but relatively clean except one of our rooms had a broken toilet. Shower had a curtain instead of a door causing water to accumulate on the floor. Breakfast area was loud and chaotic. Food was OK. Staff were courteous, helpful and attentive.
’ll start on a positive note — the food served in the bar was very good. Unfortunately, the experience declined significantly from there. The bar area itself appeared unclean, and the atmosphere and clientele around it were not what you would typically expect from a hotel environment. The room was both dated and dirty, clearly in need of a deep clean and a substantial refurbishment. The mattress was particularly poor, with springs protruding and making it extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. The pool area was also very disappointing. There was visible green algae on the white grating surrounding the pool, heavy limescale and corrosion on the handrails, and stagnant water sitting in the changing areas — all of which gave the impression of poor maintenance and hygiene standards. While the hotel is priced very reasonably, it is unfortunately in need of serious investment and improvement throughout. My advice would be to spend a little extra elsewhere for a far more comfortable and enjoyable experience. I had intended on complaining at checkout but the girl on reception looked school age so I decided there was no point unloading on her.
Rusty taps in the bathroom sink, quite cramped room. Stale pastries at breakfast and black pudding that you would need a steak knife to cut. Lovely fruit salad but no yoghurt to go with.
Im at present here at the west County for a communion meal for my granddaughter and 19 others in our party and the meal and the staff are absolutely diabolical. No organisation staff going around like headless chickens and getting nowhere and having to wait 35 minutes from the 1st person being served to the last 1 and still waiting for the vegetables. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy
Stayed 2 nights, tariff included dinner in the restaurant, very nice, plus an excellent breakfast each morning, the beds were clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful, a very pleasant stay in a great spot, walking distance to the town centre.
First time visit, was lovely, and joyful. Will come back soon. Thank you for everything for make our stay memorable.
Music in bar but tv was bad for match
I should preface this review by saying that if I hadn't been upgraded to a different room due to the water in the bathroom being brown, my rating would have been much lower. When first walking into the hotel, I expected a lot more than I saw when I walked into my "regular" room. It is in bad need of upgrading; there were tears in the material on the base of the bed and there was something stuck to the carpet. The bathroom appeared to be clean; although when I turned on the faucet the water was brown. I mentioned that to the ladies at reception and they had someone from maintenance in the room immediately. I was told that it was a problem confined to that room, and I was upgraded to an executive suite. I was very impressed with how quickly the situation was handled. The executive suite was more of what I expected when I walked through the front door of the hotel. Although the carpet is in need of repair, the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. It was only a 20 minute walk from the bus station; it was an easy walk so it is very doable. There is a Circle K across the street so I walked over the next morning for coffee and a pastry since I didn't have breakfast included. The hotel has a lot to offer: a kids' play area, a leisure center, a big bar that serves food, and a restaurant.
The hotel has obviously seen better times although still elegant. However the clientele welcomed and occupying the bar areas may drive you away. The bar across the road is very welcoming..
Food was excellent
Room had some sort of funny looking fly s . shampoo hand wash was empty when went to take shower
Everything was very good the staff were so freindly, especially the Leisure Center who gave us a loan of 3 hats and googles for my daughter.
Room was in need of a refresh. Duvet worn. No ironing board, taps not working properly, noisy vent/ fan outside bedroom window.
Location was very good for us and the staff were very helpful and friendly!
Its very dated and the rooms are in need of an upgrade. Our bathroom wasn't very clean and the beds weren't comfortable.
Great nite away we had kids really enjoyed it . Was very busy staff were amazing help also . Rooms were very clean.
Location was excellent, with about 15-20 minutes walk to edge of town and shopping, and 2 very close petrol stations with snacks and food selection. bus stop right outside too. The pool, jacuzzi and steam room were good but the changing facilities not great.
On arrival in our room we unpacked a few items and then went out. Came back and used the toilet which was then running heavily, discovered the bedside light not working, radiator not working and telephone to reception not working either. They arranged a new room however the girl on reception said they did know this room had problems so we shouldn't have been given this room at all. Time consuming to pack things up and move. In the new room went to iron a t shirt the next morning and the iron was not working - had no time to mess around going to reception so went out creased! Shame the basic maintenance is so poor as it really lets down the hotel.
We stayed for 1 night for our wedding anniversary Everything was just perfect Fabolous hotel. And great staff and food was delicious
The staff were very friendly and helpful when I checked in.
The bed was very uncomfortable to sleep on Radiator in the morning making funny noises.
Za ceno nočitve bi prčakoval boljšo ponudbo.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was also very good and reasonable priced!
The hotel rooms, while clean, felt dated, could do with some updating furniture looked tired/worn?
Great location for visiting the attractions in south Clare. Been here before and will be back again!
Staff were lovely. Especially Geroga on fronth desk.
The Guinness was awful and had to hand it back.
Rooms are a bit basic but modern and clean. Bathrooms definitely need an update. They're dated and paint peeling in places etc but again clean. Staff are friendly and helpful for the most part. A couple less so (one in the bar and one in the sports centre) but overall very good. Food is quite nice too and not too badly priced. The sports bar is really nice, good fun and a nice addition to the hotel. Its a great location to explore parts of the west from. I would stay again!
Had a lovely evening lovely food nice room but the attitude of the man on reception the next morning at 5am when we were checking out for an early flight was disgusting.. grunting sighingand tutting as he had to open the front door at 5am.. not all all a pleasant experience especially as had met lovely staff the previous evening
Staff were lovely and everything was very clean
Bed was tiny, room cold, old single glazed window
