Housekeeping stole from me!!!!! Do not stay here! Housekeeping dug through my bags and stole a significant amount of cash from me. I was on vacation and planned to go to the local casino, so had a decent amount of cash zipped away in my luggage. Filed a police report and Ritz security told me they’d investigate. They did an “internal investigation” and surprise surprise, found themselves not liable. I found out from their security team the hotel was closing down the week after my stay for renovations. It’s not a coincidence my cash was stolen the week before housekeeping was out of a job. General manager did nothing to help. Didn’t offer to comp my stay. And Ritz Corporate didn’t share details of their investigation.
Pas grand-chose
Les prix ne sont pas du tout à la hauteur surtout le petit déjeuner qui est vraiment très décevant
The hotel is about to close for a major renovation and it shows. Completely under staffed. Staff were very pleasant and supportive but overwhelmed I guess because people either quit or left given the imminent closure. Rooms and views can be nice albeit tired and barely maintained. Service in the restaurants is beyond bad, you will wait for everything and wait for more. I won’t go on any longer. Maybe it gets better when the renovation is complete but how can a property that is Ritz branded treat its guests like this? If it happens now it will happen again.
This hotel is totally unimpressive. It’s a Marriott trying (and failing) to provide an elevated Ritz-Carlton experience. Spend your money at a better hotel than this.
Fantastic stay from start to finish! Beautiful property and great location. We traveled for the Miami Open but also for a romantic weekend and we were not disappointed. The suite had amazing views, the room service was excellent and all the staff was helpful with what ever we needed. We did not even have time to take advantage of the spa or some of the restaurants but we really enjoyed riding the bikes along the ocean path. It was also a short drive to the Bal Harbour shops which were amazing. We would definitely stay here again! This oceanfront property is perfect for couples or families.
They had a face paint lady who was amazing at the pool for the kids.
A terrible hotel, and the worst service I have ever experience. The beach never has chairs available and you need to tip your way to get chairs, after spending a crazy amount for a connecting suite for presidents weekend. The breakfast room was disgusting, belongs in a ramada in and def not a ritz carlton property. Is a slander to the brand. Further - maid service sometimes came sometimes didnt only once a day. We would ask for things and it just would never show up. Its the last time I am staying there. Its a horrific place. Worst of all we were accused for minibar charges, which we didnt consume. Our children were playing with it but in spite of us making a fuss about this and our kids being kids, this super high margin items - after paying so much for a suite and room - was a non negotiable item they wouldn't turn a blind eye for. Just bad people ... bad management. It should be renamed and called the hilton its not a ritz cartlon property. Its my last time there (forever) and maybe my last ritz carlton. Shameful
I’ve stayed in Surfside/Bal Harbour, many times, often at the St. Regis but this was our first time at Ritz Carlton and we were absolutely blown away. The size, decor of their views of their suites are really stunning. The pool area is beautiful and their staff and service was top notch. The hotel was totally full because so many had their flights cancelled with the big winter storm yet nothing felt crowded. I really loved how they have separate elevators so that when you exit the elevators there are only two rooms per floor and it feels very private. I think honestly Marriott Elites are often hesitant to stay at Ritz properties when they is a comparable St. Regis, W, etc close by that offers more benefits (free breakfast, able to use your Suite Night awards, guaranteed 4pm checkout) but aside from the free breakfast (which personally isn’t super valuable to me when I want to sleep in) I felt I got comparable Platinum treatment. They actually gave me an upgrade to a stunning, high floor suite and although it wasn’t 4pm, they did give me a 2pm checkout which I was happy with considering they were totally full. We really enjoyed the afternoon complimentary affogatos, daily afternoon cocktails, and the include Pilates class I took in the spa was awesome. Also, although it is a bit farther to walk to all the restaurants and cafes on Harding street it was very doable and pleasant. All in all, I’d be happy to return her and they definitely compete with and in some ways surpass the experience at the nearby St. Regis. Don’t hesitate to book at this beautiful property!
Beautiful location and Staff is the Best Margo at the pool was helpful friendly and courteous consistent with the Ritz Carlton Brand. Thank you for a great day!!!
So nice to have this for our kids at the pool on vacation! Our kids were so happy to get face painting by the pool and she was so sweet.
So fun—amazing job!! We played water pong. Company is The Finesse Experience! Such a blast tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing beats the ritz staff and amenititee. the finesse Xperience was so fun! free glass of prosecco for winning a game. 10/10 enjoyed
Katelyn from Finesse painted our girls poolside! They loved it! Thanks so much! Pool and beach are also well maintained. Great ritz!!
Drinks, sun and fun!! Everything was great! Sundro was great to have around so we could do something fun and out of the ordinary like splash pong!! The place is beautiful and rooms are great!
Sandro was great! Nice entertainment for my toddlers. Water games with buckets and tennis ball. By the pool. Fun for the whole family
Jay and her assistant Sadie from The Finesse Xperience were incredible. They curated a full day of fun for me at the pool, taking care of every detail and making the entire experience feel effortless. The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour was the perfect setting—beautiful property, excellent service, and a staff that truly knows how to elevate your stay. Highly recommend both the team and the hotel.
I had such a fun experience with the Finesse experience. Made a few friends and did not feel alon. It was engaging, and such great fun.
Great experience with Sandro. Took the kids to play archery and darts. Even got them smoothies. Very relaxing hour for the parents.
Tolle Lage
Viel zu hohe und intransparente Preise, Beispiel: eine Dose Heineckenbier umgefüllt in einen Becher: 17 Dollar + Steuer … fällt einem nichts mehr zu ein …
We did an Halloween activity to customize cookies, kids enjoyed the moment. Claudia and her husband are really kind with us. Thanks again for the finess experience
Very good experience overall!
During our first stay at this property, we had an amazing experience. Upon check-in, we were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady at the front desk, who provided us with information about the resort fee, which we fully utilized. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach chairs, the daily desserts served at dinner at the beach house, and the excellent food service and like I stated before, we had a wonderful dinner at the beach house and the food was very good. Initially, we booked a coastline view room with queen beds, but as platinum elite members, we were upgraded to a guest room with two queen beds offering an ocean view on the 10th floor, room number 1015. We were immediately impressed by the room, particularly the beautiful balcony and the bathroom, which we considered the highlight of the property. It was delightful to take a bath while enjoying the skyline view, and we had no complaints about the room. The beds were very comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. On the second day, we requested a late checkout at 4 pm, which was accommodated as part of our platinum elite status. We appreciated this and took full advantage of the pool and beach during the day. However, we encountered issues with our keys not working for beach access and the pool, requiring reprogramming . We suspect this was due to ongoing construction and property enhancements, so be aware of potential noise during your stay . Despite these minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed the property and are eager to return soon. The Ritz Carlton Bal Harbor did an excellent job maintaining cleanliness and providing exceptional service throughout our stay. We had a fantastic time and look forward to visiting again in the near future.
I booked a room with ocean view balcony ( which I paid extra for) but was given a different a different room with a view of the building next to the hotel and that they don’t have “ocean view rooms” when their website literally says that and that is what I booked and when I told the front desk they gave “another room”. Car parking is $55 per day for those who want to rent a car. I wouldn’t go back because the price you pay for isn’t worth what you get. I normally don’t like to give bad reviews but we didn’t enjoy it even though we paid $2600+ for a day and two night stay.
I came to the hotel to celebrate my sister’s 50th birthday over Labor Day weekend. I was very underwhelmed by the stay. We stayed in a suite. The room itself was beautiful, the pool was nice and the guys working at the beach helping with chairs were fantastic. They forgot to put anything in the half bath, no hand towels, no soap, no toilet paper. We stopped by and let them know. No one came until they cleaned the room and then didn’t leave soap, forgot wash clothes. The spa was disorganized and cramped. No tour of the facility. There was mold in the steam room and felt like a jail cell. The lounge wasn’t relaxing at all. Massage itself was good though. I’ve stayed at a few Ritz Carlton and was surprised at the service and lack to detail at this location.
This hotel is super close to Bal Harbour beach and provides great beach services for example umbrella, chair, towels and sun screen. You can also order food on the beach and they will deliver to you. Great ocean view, great services, would recommend.
avg service, hidden daily fees, not planning on staying again in this hotel.
Manager Madison was incredibly kind and accommodating during our stay. We stayed one night and had a family issue and needed to change hotels for location. She went out of her way to help, she even called around and helped us with hotels. Instead of treating us like just another transaction, she truly saw us as people. Exceptional customer service and genuine care!
We are trying to have a relaxing family vacation for a long weekend. We thought this hotel looked nice. It is a nice hotel but there is an obscene amount of construction noise non stop at the pool and the beach is overrun with seaweed so much that you want even go in the water. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to relax by the pool or beach
Excellent in every way; especially the staff!
We were here for 10 days for a holiday and to celebrate our 32nd Wedding Anniversary The Hotel, staff, restaurants, service were all 5 star plus. Everyone we met was lovely and genuinely wanted to help to make our stay as perfect as possible They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our anniversary and made it one of the most special ones for us to remember It is a beautiful resort with the beach and pools extremely well looked after and serviced well by the staff for food & drinks We would definitely come back and we don’t often say that There wasn’t anything at all to complain about There are lots of places to visit nearby for both couples and families Thank you especially to Leslie Fabiola who was amazing Guest Relations Co-Ordinator at Ritz Carlton who helped make our stay the very best
Fabulous hotel. Upgraded our room, as a special occasion. Much quieter location and hotel than South Beach, so if want a quiet, elegant hotel. Must compliment the staff at this hotel, everyone from the beach and pool staff, to the arrivals desk were first class. Would definitely recommend!
Restaurant and beach facility is phenomenal, albeit a little difficult to find. Service was OK overall and gym equipment needs to be cleaned much more often (also not sure why kept so warm). Overall amazing facility though so would be back!
Great hotel, lovely staff, but killed by construction. An ongoing renovation in the buildings next to the hotel really made for a terrible experience at the pool, you had to shout because of the noise. No conductive to a pleacefull relaxation ambiance. If you are hear to rest and relax skip for the next 4 weeks. Renovation continues until mid/end of August 2025.
Had a very lovely stay here, Property was amazing, views were awesome.
Hotel triggered fraud protection on my Chase Sapphire Preferred card. Instead of contacting me they just locked me out of my prepaid room. I felt like a criminal. Their beach is useless and covered with seaweed. They are happy to charge $300 for a day bed but cant be bothered to rake the seaweed and trash out of the beach sand like real luxury hotels do. Also they had the audacity to add a "gratuity" charge of 74$ to my minibar. Its like paying a tip to a vending machine. I think im going to avoid all marriot properties from now on. They are all acting in a consistently anti customer way.
This is by far the worst Ritz-Carlton I have stayed at. Our experience at this hotel was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to warn others. While there were a few bright spots—housekeeping was fast, the privacy of having only two rooms per floor was appreciated, the view was lovely, and the drinks at the pool were actually quite good—those positives were quickly overshadowed by some serious issues. First and foremost, we had a medical emergency with someone in our party. Shockingly, we were not informed about this until after the hotel staff had them transported to the hospital. When we asked the front desk for details, no one could tell us anything about what happened. Worse, they refused to let us speak with a manager nor did they take any information from us about the events leading up to the emergency. It was beyond frustrating and incredibly distressing during an already tense situation. Prior to this situation happening, we were lounging at the pool near others who were not hotel guests or residents (they made this clear when talking to us). They were loud, disruptive, and ruined what could have been a relaxing afternoon especially given the medical emergency that happened shortly after. Apparently, the hotel does little to monitor who uses the facilities. On top of that, our room's air conditioning barely worked. It made a loud whistling noise all night and stayed stuffy even when set to 65 degrees. Sleeping comfortably was nearly impossible. The location, while seemingly convenient, is a logistical nightmare. If you're coming from or going north, be prepared for multiple u-turns and confusing access points. It's more hassle than it's worth. All in all, the lack of communication, poor management response, and overall guest experience were unacceptable. I won’t be returning and strongly recommend you look elsewhere.
The splash ping pong was so fun and Sandro was very kind and attentive with my kids. Very fun day. My kids are enjoying the pool too.
First, the positives-this is a beautiful property overlooking Haulover inlet (a treat if you're a fan of boats). Much quieter than South Beach but a close drive to restaurants and shopping. The room and bathroom were great, immaculate, pool was nice, and beach was pretty. Where this property lacks is service. This was our second time here for my birthday. We emailed ahead of time to let them know, hoping there would be some recognition of the special day. Upon check in, nothing was noted. We were also placed on the second floor (we asked for a higher floor when we booked), overlooking a metal roof. We also could not access the Wifi in the room. I went back downstairs to ask for a higher floor and let them know about the wifi. I was told no higher floor was available, but in the lobby using cell service I could see online there was. The person at the front desk said yes, she could see that but it really wasn't available... went back upstairs and still no wifi despite the front desk's instructions. I called down for an engineer, which they did promptly send. Meanwhile, my husband was not happy with the view and wanted to see about an upgrade. I spoke to the engineer who said yes, the wifi is working but perhaps there is a sign in problem and to go back to the front desk. I go back a third time and tell them the wifi is still not working, and to ask about an upgrade. At this point it had been about 45 min of my son and husband just sitting there, not unpacking to see if we were changing rooms, and not able to log on for work because the wifi didn't work. I was told no, they could not upgrade me despite there being higher floors available. I asked even though we're not able to log into work, this is my third visit down here and we've now wasted about an hour of our time? The answer was no. I told them we would pay for an upgrade then, and asked for some kind of dining voucher at least. I was told "we're already getting two complimentary drinks a day". What lousy customer service!!! The wifi problem was also because the front desk attendant kept telling us to put the 0 before our room number. It took 3 people to correct that. I also asked to make sure they knew it was my birthday as my husband had emailed ahead of time and nothing was waiting in the room upon arrival. (At many properties, there would be a welcome card, a bottle of wine, a sweet treat etc). One of the attendants said yes, they had it written down and she would be handling it personally. NOTHING ever arrived in our room, no treat, no nothing the entire stay. Anyway, we finally moved rooms to a higher floor (and paid the price for it despite it now being going on two hours trying to change rooms AND get working wifi). From then on, our stay was nice. The pool service was great. Beach service was inconsistent, ranging from someone promptly helping us one day to the beach guys literally just standing around talking as we waited for chairs and towels (we finally got our own). Check in was abysmal, and the fact they still did nothing to even recognize the birthday we were celebrating, despite many reminders, was really disappointing.
Nice stay although the hotel could use some touch ups , especially in pool area
The rooms and hotel were Clean , elegant, spacious and beautiful, Location was excellent, the service and staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. Valet and Beach Staff were phenomenal. Highly recommend. Was very enjoyable vacation
Amazing vibe and great atmosphere. She was super nice and kind with my daughter. Very respectful and very lovely. Thank you for this amazing 🤩 experience especially for the little one that loves make up and beach 🏖️! Very good idea for the kids to have fun around the pool
Edge and David helped us set up our beach chairs. They were very wonderful. Their service was exceptional and we highly recommend them for anybody else on their vacation. We had David as our server and he attended us greatly! Thank you to the ritz Carlton for our wonderful stay!
Our family went to Bal Harbour for a few days at the end of March and stayed at the Ritz. Upon entering, the lobby area is nice, but small. Check in is quick as there was no wait, but the front desk attendants do not seem to be as service-focused. I inquired about an upgrade (as I'm a Titanium member) and was told "we aren't doing upgrades this week due to spring break". I can understand if there is no upgrades available, but I probably would have said it differently or at least pretended to see if anything was available. On my check out day, I inquired about late check out and the lady gave me a hard time about that (she let us stay to noon and she felt like she was doing me favor with that). We then went to the elevator to get up to the rooms and they are a bit small. You get to the landing area and there are only two rooms. The landing area is really really small by the way. The room itself was nice, especially the bathrooms. We went to the beach and pool everyday. The beach is ok, but lots of seaweed. The pool was nice and service there was pretty good. We ate the onsite restaurant (Artisan Beach House) every day. The food and service was good with no complaints. In the afternoons, they have afternoon ice cream in the lobby and that was really good! We also liked having the complimentary daily cocktails at the bar. Overall, we enjoyed our stay even though a couple of the front desk agents aren't up to Ritz standards.
Sandro was amazing! So much fun! We were playing splash pong with our friends! We were on the loosing end but it was still so much fun. We played, tanned and had drinks. So much fun. Loved every second of it. We enjoy it! Continue to do this at this hotel, it’ll bring plenty of people.
We came to the Ritz for a pool and beach day! The hotel is so beautiful. We got invited to play some splash pong and it was so fun! Girls vs boys and We lost but had a good time. Sandro was so nice helping us with the game. Got Us moving and out in the sun.
Active and fun experience with Sandro who got us all active with a game of Slap Pong. Sandro was very charismatic and social! Also win received a free drink on the house! And I was the winner! Great game! Thanks for the drink Sandro!!!!!!!!!!!
Sandro invited my wife and I to play splash pong while we were enjoying the day at the pool. We had a great time and it was a grratbactucity todo to br4ak up the relaxing and laying down I would definitely recommend this activity! My wife and I even want to buy this activity to do at home when we have guest. Great job Sandro
The staff was congenial and very accommodating!
Great hotel, very nice beach, and very nice staff.
We loved this hotel! I will never stay anywhere else in the area again. Close to great shopping, it’s not crowded, the pool and beach set up are great. We had a suite with both city and ocean views, it was beautiful. Our kids were with us, they loved it. The service was excellent. Highly recommend! Also the spa is phenomenal.
Face painting by Katelyn with Finesse at the pool was so cute! My son even got a Van Halen tattoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sandro was great with the family. We played splashpong with the kids and he was incredibly helpful. Looking forward to seeing Sandro at the hotel again soon. I am sure he has many amazing activities for all families. Thank you again, Sandro!
Hello, we are at the ritz Carlton in bal Harbour with my family and we are having a wonderful time with Sandro. The kids are having a blast and the adults as well. Thank you for having this amazing program. Wish it was more hours. Thank you for everything AS
Katelyn did a great job doing a henna drawing for my daughter. She was a delight to talk with and very talented. Thank you! This was an unexpected perk poolside at the hotel and we appreciated it. Thank you Katelyn!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the price point, every staff member should be going above and beyond. Some did: Daniel at the beach, the young lady at check in, the bellman at check in. But many acted as if we were bothering them if we had a request or a question. Again, for price point, service should be above and beyond, and many times it was avg or below avg. Beach service was very slow and infrequent, “starts” at 11:30 (too late) and in reality never had a server before 12ish, then took 30-45 min to get food. Restaurants were both 7/10. Nothing to write home about. For the money spent, we won’t be returning. We’ve stayed at comparable properties within a mile or so, with 10/10 restaurants and 10/10 service.
Katelyn with Finesse painted my son’s face at the pool and was so fun and kind! My son was so pleased with the result! Thank you! …………………………………………………. ……. ………. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..:……………………..
Sandro hosted a game of splash bong and after beating my wife 😝 I got a free drink. Fun game and not very long it added a little laughter to our relaxing day at the pool. 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Sadly, we’re only here for a weekend. Sandro at the Spalsh Bong station by the pool was great & who can turn down a free drink! Service has been amazing everywhere in the resort, we loved the happy hour, coffee stations, & food has been delicious (scallops & octopus.. yum!). The yoga sculpt was a perfect mix of challenging and relaxing (wish I had more time to relax in their relaxation area).
We always have the best time when we stay at the ritz. This weekend we came with the kids and they had face painting with kaitnin at the pool. My kids were so excited and really enjoyed it! We hope she will be back to do face painting again! We will definitely be back.
Katelyn was super! She did a great job reaching out and letting us know she was there to make our trip great! Katelyn was amazing with my granddaughter and made her feel so special with her fabulous face paint design! I would highly recommend spending the day at the ritz Carlton and taking full advantage of all the wonderful offerings.
Sandro made our experience by the pool so fun! The pool area is beautiful, peaceful but still family friendly. Will definitely be back, love this area! The staff by the pool are helpful, not overbearing. Plenty of sun or shade, doesn’t feel crowded or overwhelming at all.
Poor service. Room had to be changed, still had problems. Need to get the basics right. Property needs an update. Staff need to be more reactive to issues. There are so many hotel options in the area, go elsewhere.
suite
Purely the location, other aspects were extremely poor.
Dated rooms, which were poorly serviced and dirty, construction work which was not advised outside our window all day, poor aspect for a suite, lack of dining option.
Amazing view, very nice staff.
We really liked the property and everyone was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would greatly recommend it and will be happy to come back next year.
Upgrade was supposed to be in reservation notes (per Ritz area executive) but were not and refused upgrade even though property was EMPTY. Then at check in told we would be given instead an "oceanview" room but received exactly the same room that we already had booked. A shell game. Hotel and beach bars are ridiculously small for such a large property. Pay a huge "Resort Fee" but they still nickel and dime guests on other fees.
Always a pleasure at the Ritz. Excellent customer service, clean and beautiful.
I didn’t like anything about this property. I think it’s a disgrace to the Ritz Carlton name
Everything. Service and facilities were terrible
This hotel was established as an after-thought converting one of many Residence towers into a hotel. Poor Bar. Awful breakfast buffet. In general, I was surprised to find a Ritz-Carlton that doesn't deliver real value.
Ritz are simply not what they used to be. I keep trying and constant dissatisfaction. House keeping justbwalks in...then came right into my "locked" bathroom. Did not speak English, no apolgy. Garbage cans around property overflowing. Front desk ,bell men and in room dining excellent(except the food that did come did not match what was on the menu)
Very nice hotel, excellent staff!
I recently stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, and it was a wonderful experience! The staff were exceptional, providing top-notch service and making sure I felt welcome and well taken care of throughout my stay. Their hospitality truly elevated the experience. The food was good with a decent variety to suit different tastes. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. The highlight, though, was the incredible ocean view from my room. It was breathtaking and unbelievably relaxing perfect for a peaceful getaway. Waking up to that view every morning was unforgettable. One thing to note: the hotel does show a bit of its age, so if you’re looking for something ultra-modern and cutting edge in terms of design, you might notice some wear. However, this was by no means a deal breaker. The exceptional service and stunning views more than make up for it, and I would definitely stay here again!
All good

Wonderful staff, beautiful views Awesome private beach and pool area very relaxing Look forward to visiting again
Perfect place to experience a luxury aura.
Setting of hotel was nice
Very very expensive -totally over priced
The environment is everything you think it would be.
Everithing was very good!
nothing.
The hotel is very old for the price, there was smell in the room and it was too late to go down, next day we told them, and they didnt adjust price or something, we stayed just one night and payed 2.5 days cause we arrived early and left 4 pm, we thought they would at least have the gesture to discount the .5 day
the room was spacious and beautiful, clean and comfortable. they upgraded me to a suite, and it was phenomenal. the view is breathtaking.
they had only one restaurant at the property. one small spa. staff weren't available when needed. I don't know where the conciarge was, it was always empty. late check-out was at 12, and regularly at 11.
