We had a wonderful stay at The Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable, and the service throughout our stay was excellent. A special thank you to Angie, who truly made our experience even better. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful, and made us feel very well taken care of. No air in the rooms, musky smell. I like a little more relaxed, alot of staff standing around waiting or looking at you, if I paid interest in something, they were lovely but too much at times.

Size of the rooms, amenities and location

The Location of this amazing Hotel is perfect, you are in the business district with the metro a small walk away and the amazing Guangzhou New Television Tower fast around the corner. The Atmosphere is like you can expect from a Hotel like Ritz-Carlton. The rooms are exceptionally nice, comfortable and quiet, the bed is like a dream. But the most interesting was the toilet, because they have this intelligent toilet (a must try hehehe). The Cleanliness is like the to the best standards for a hotel of this name. And the attendance of the rooms it to the highest quality with a very nice personal details to make your stay the most unique experience. We tried the Buffett dinner the first night and it was perfect, it is a bit expensive but it is worth every single cent that you pay for it with a great selection of foods from all around the world. Also we were treated by the hotel for a small selection of cakes on the room before we went to bed. The Breakfast was sadly another experience because there was not enough breakfast tables and we end up in a tinny tiny table in the hall before the restaurant, but the quality of the breakfast was really good. On the evening you can enjoy a wonderful cocktail on the Lobby bar with his amazing and friendly personal. The only thing I would recommend the hotel to improve is the level of English of his personal. Sometimes we have struggled a bit to communicate, in the reception or other part of the hotel. But other than that the hotel is a unique experience that I can highly recommend.

Fantastic 4-night stay at The Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou. The hotel is in a prime location, making it easy to reach many of Guangzhou's top attractions. The room was spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable, while the in-room service was excellent throughout our stay. The staff were professional, attentive, and always willing to help, making us feel genuinely welcome. Overall, it was a luxurious and relaxing experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Guangzhou.

I chose this hotel mainly for its prime location in Pearl River New City, near the shopping mall, close to Pearl River, and I truly didn’t expect to be amazed by the service starting from the reservation stage. After placing my booking online, I took the initiative to call the reservation department to inform them we were staying for a birthday celebration. The staff on the phone listened carefully to all my requests and noted down every detail. They were extremely patient answering all my inquiries, proactively followed up to confirm every arrangement days before check-in. The thoughtful and thorough work of the reservation team set a warm tone for our whole trip. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with a sense of familiarity and comfort that made us feel right at home. We left with wonderful memories of the outstanding care delivered by every member of this hotel, especially the considerate reservation department. We are already eagerly looking forward to our next visit and the chance to enjoy the unparalleled hospitality of The Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou once again.

Из за сильной влаги. И еще кондиционер стоял на 17 гр. настолько что ковры и вся петель была влажной. Мы получались. Спали на мокрых кроватях. Дети даже легли на пол на ковер. Чтоб хоть как то поспать. Нам предлагали в другой номер переселиться. Но он был с такими же влажными кроватями.

Taken all in all, the experience proved eminently satisfactory, and the value—that quiet arithmetic one performs at the final reckoning—outran our expectations in the most agreeable way. We had engaged a river-view room looking out upon the Canton Tower, that slender and faintly theatrical spire the citizens so fondly call the “Little Waist.” At sixteen hundred yuan the night, the rate stood as a singularly competitive bargain among the sumptuous—and, it must be owned, occasionally over-proud—houses of Zhujiang New Town. The hotel has kept its doors open for upwards of a decade, and wears the passage of years with a certain dignity. Its manner is not that of the newest fashion, forever straining to dazzle; rather it breathes the settled, monied respectability of the old American East Coast—polished, formal, a touch patrician, and pleasantly nostalgic. If the fittings are no longer of the very latest cut, the pricing has the refreshing honesty to confess as much; and when all is weighed together, the value is strong indeed. The true glory of the house, however, is its service, wherein the venerable Ritz-Carlton standard is very much alive and in full command. The staff are schooled to a pitch of near-perfection—composed, attentive, professionally alert. Every soul in their employ, on catching a guest’s eye, offers a ready smile and a courteous inclination of the head; and assistance has a way of appearing before inconvenience has found time to introduce itself. This spirit—warm, disciplined, quietly efficient—was, beyond all cavil, the finest part of our stay. In the matter of victuals and chambers the house is no less dependable. Breakfast is a veritable cornucopia, a most diplomatic alliance of delicate Cantonese dim sum and the hearty staples of the Western table, appeasing the divergent palates of an entire household with admirable ease. The room itself was of generous proportion, furnished with every practical comfort, and wanting in nothing—orderly, convenient, and altogether restful. Its situation, too, is of prime advantage. The hotel stands in the very thumping heart of Zhujiang New Town, sharing a neighbourhood with the Guangdong Museum and the Guangzhou Library, each a bare five minutes’ walk away—a boon alike to daily excursion and to cultural edification. The surrounding table is equally generous: directly across the thoroughfare rises the Linjiang Avenue branch of the celebrated Guangzhou Restaurant; a short amble reveals sundry outlets of Honeymoon Dessert; and toward Liede Village lie morning teahouses and local eating-houses past all numbering. One need not wander far to taste the true savour of the city. In sum, though the décor may whisper faintly of a decade passed, the peerless service, the capital location, and a tariff most advantageous combine in splendid harmony, and more than atone for those gentle signs of age. For a family calling upon Guangzhou—children in tow—I should pronounce it a steadfast and comfortable luxury choice: one that offers dignity without fuss, convenience without commotion, and a hospitality that still remembers the old art of making a guest feel properly cared for.

Marriott Bonvoy memebers please read. Beautiful interiors and views but with issues that drag the experience down. Check in was ok, although a Platinum member, no lounge access ( they have a lounge) and no breakfast amenity only points on check in. This already was a downer and negative for selecting this hotel. The week before we had stayed at the Sheraton Guangzhou, which I would rate much highly in terms of overall experience. We tried to go to the pool and they would only allow you into the pool if you had or purchased a swimming hat, which is annoying to wear for some people or a scam to make you purchase a product you probably won’t use back home. The hotel interiors are nice but having stayed previously at the Sheraton Guangzhou Tianhe and the Marriot Tianhe, I would definitely choose them over the Ritz Carlton.

Room service food is horrendous. Definitely need fixing because i ordered 3 times and it was horrible. Some staff speak no english whatsoever so communication can be hard. Hotel is a bit outdated.

What an incredible stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou. From the moment I arrived, everything felt Ritz-Carlton :) :), welcoming, and perfectly taken care of. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are elegant and the comfort is always great, the service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff made the experience truly special with their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. After long, busy days, coming back to such a peaceful and refined hotel was exactly what I needed. This is the kind of place that makes a trip feel memorable. I would highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou and would happily stay again.

I'm not a regular reviewer. I keep to myself, I let small things slide, and I usually can't be bothered to write a hotel up one way or the other. It takes something genuinely out of the ordinary to get a word out of me. The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou managed it. Let me start with the moment that summed up the whole stay. On our second night we came back around 10 PM, worn out from a full day out and about, stepped into the lift on the ground floor — and the thing wouldn't move. Our key cards had stopped working mid-stay, on a booking I'd paid two nights for in full at check-in. To the front desk we trudged, where instead of a simple apology, my wife and I were asked to recite personal details to prove our identities. Didn't they already scan the biodata pages of our passports, which had our facial pictures? The staff even got our surnames and titles wrong, mistaking our genders in the process. Apparently it was because the staff who did the first registration screwed up. We were the ones locked out, and somehow we were the ones under suspicion. But that was the last straw, not the first — and to understand why it stung, you need the start of the stay. We'd booked one of the hotel's priciest Club Rooms for the two of us and arrived the previous evening, around 5–6 PM. The staff sat us in the Club Lounge to wait for the room to be ready — and then, the instant I lifted my cup of Coke Zero that one of their own staff had poured for me, another staff member hurried over to inform us, with other guests nearby within earshot, that only one of us could use the Club Lounge and that we'd need to pay extra for the second person. My wife asked whether we could settle the payment after we'd rested, given we'd already left a deposit. In every other hotel we've stayed at worldwide, we could simply sign and charge it to the room after. Are couples meant to wait for their Club Room in separate corners of the premises? For a property that trades on the word "luxury," this kind of penny-pinching is beneath it. The food gave us no reason to soften. The Club Lounge spread was forgettable. The international breakfast buffet downstairs was no better — flat, characterless, the sort of thing you forget while you're still eating it. Mediocre food alone wouldn't move me to write. Piled onto everything else, it was just one more letdown. And for all the talk of luxury, the room itself didn't earn the price. The layout is genuinely odd. The windows ought to be the room's crown jewel — we did have a line to the Canton Tower and the river — but they're carved up by heavy frames and a thick central column, so the view you're paying a premium for arrives in awkward vertical slices rather than opening out in front of you. The furniture arrangement compounds it: a bed tucked into a recessed alcove with a television set off at an angle that makes it awkward to watch from the bed. The styling is more dated than grand. The bed and linen didn't help — the cotton felt low in thread count compared to other 5 star establishments, when a property at this level could easily have used Tencel or something finer. What lingers, though, isn't the food or the room or even the lockout. It's the feeling that we were being filed as not quite belonging. We felt disrespected from the moment we walked through the door. I've stayed in plenty of hotels that showed more genuine warmth and competence than this one did. For a place that ranks among the most expensive and highest-rated in Guangzhou, the experience was poor enough to make me wonder whether the other reviews are authentic at all. If you're weighing up where to stay in Guangzhou in 2026 onwards, my honest advice is to look elsewhere.

The Marriott app is a useful one, as you can chat with the staff before your arrival and make essential arrangements. The hotel is busy, and occupancy was high. Nevertheless, we were upgraded to the Carlton Tower River view room, which was spacious and amazingly comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful, and the staff was great. The hotel was kind enough to grant us a late check-out as well. Quite different from the service I faced with the hotels in Hong Kong.

This check-in experience is very comfortable. The hotel is very luxurious. The view of the Guangzhou Tower River is very beautiful. The mattress in the hotel is soft and hard, and you can sleep until dawn. The breakfast is quite rich in variety and tastes good. The front desk was polite to check in, and the bell took the initiative to help me carry my luggage to the room, which was very considerate~

From check-in to check-out, every moment reflected thoughtful service and exceptional hospitality, and several staff members especially left a lasting impression on me. First, I would like to sincerely thank Nora for assisting with the check-in process. She was highly professional yet warm and welcoming, creating a wonderful first impression from the very beginning. Her English communication was natural and polished, and she carried herself with confidence while still making guests feel comfortable and cared for. Thanks to her, my excitement for the stay grew even more. I would also like to compliment 文㛓 from housekeeping. The room was cleaned and organized beautifully every day, and I could tell great attention had been paid even to the smallest details. What impressed me most was how smoothly the staff communicated with one another, which allowed me to enjoy my stay comfortably without any inconvenience. The most memorable moment, however, was the birthday surprise prepared by Angie for my mother. The thoughtful birthday decorations touched both of us deeply and made the celebration incredibly special. It was far more than a simple event—it became a precious memory that we will cherish for a long time. As a student, I once read a book about The Ritz-Carlton’s service philosophy, which gave me a deep admiration for the brand. Through this stay, I was finally able to experience that reputation firsthand. I completely understood why so many people speak so highly of The Ritz-Carlton’s service, and it made me want to visit other Ritz-Carlton hotels in different cities as well. I stayed for work as solo traveller and had access to the club which I highly recommend. The staff were so lovely there. and remembered you and your preferences. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and peaceful. The area is great and in the heart of the city lots of nice walks to Canton Tower and various shopping areas.

I did go for breakfast downstairs one day (not in the club) and that felt too busy and a little underwhelming. For the pool you need to wear a swimming cap but these are not provided free of charge which I felt should be available for paying guests if they want to enforce this. It's the first time I have seen that at a hotel.

After 15 years of staying at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou, I can confidently say this was my best stay yet. I spent 16 nights at the hotel with multiple rooms, and the level of service was impeccable throughout. What truly sets this property apart is the people. From pre-arrival to departure, everything was handled flawlessly. A special thank you to Dennis Liang and Freya for ensuring all my requests were perfectly arranged in advance. Nora at the Front Desk and Samuel, Night Manager, were consistently professional and attentive. Yanniz and Eirene were always helpful and welcoming. Louis, Manager of Rooms, deserves recognition for always assigning my preferred room and making sure it was set exactly how I like it—including the air conditioning, which makes a big difference during long stays. The Reservations team also did an excellent job managing multiple bookings seamlessly. I would also like to acknowledge General Manager Matthias Vogt for his visible leadership and presence throughout the hotel. The spa team, especially Jodie and Doris, made sure I could relax during a busy trip. With so many new hotels opening in Guangzhou, I’m often asked why I continue to return here—the answer is simple: the service and the people are second to none. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Only the location is good

The hotel is very old, only the lobby decor is ok. the room was old, the wash basin is blocked, the room has the unpleasant old room smell. The biggest problem is the air conditioner, the exhaust system is unacceptably loud and is in the room wardrobe, this also caused leaking in the bathroom roof. The breakfast has lots of different choice but the food quality is not good and nothing really tasty. You can have much better breakfast outside and it’s much cheaper! Compare to other Ritz Carlton, this one is the worst! In China, there is lots of newly build good hotel, only half of this price. this is definitely not the one you should choose, no matter you are for business or family travel. For the leaking bathroom roof, we have to use all our towels to clean it.

This is the first time we stayed in this hotel. We were on the 37th floor with a wonderful view of the Pearl River and Tower. Breakfast was great. The swimming pool and spa was nice, but they charge 200 yuan to use the spa. We had dinner at the Michelin star Chinese restaurant, food and service both were very nice, but a bit too pricey, they should give discount for hotel guests. The only complaint was the upkeep of our bathroom was not very bad, the frame was very poorly patched and fixed.
