Garner Hotel Nottingham City Centre by IHG

Great friendly staff. Good breakfast with openly of choice. Excellent location for the theatre this was our third stay at this hotel- highly recomnended

Maybe a fridge in the room but otherwise the room was very well equipped

Location

The bed was awful, sit on it and you roll into the middle join, the quilt is too small for the bed. The water pressure was awful, bath took forever to fill and even longer to empty. Spoke to reception and they didn't comprehend what I told them

Location excellent for the royal theatre

Very dated, looking over busy road, bed not very comfortable

The hotel was in a brillant location for the Theatre Royal and Concert hall .Will definitely stay there again

Everything was great ..Garner Hotel

Great room and location

Great reception on arrival - however…….when checking out I was told I had a breakfast to pay for. My room was booked as non breakfast yet for a while receptionist was rather insistent we had had a breakfast - eventually I was told it was ok. No apology received just “It had been sorted”. I would have expected a better customer response and an apology for the admin mistake but that wasn’t forthcoming

Polite staff Spacious room Comfy bed

NA

Very good breakfast, selection of food. Friendly staff.choices of coffee.

The staff on the Reception were wonderful. Violete and Ellie were so welcoming.

Nothing

The room was clean and everything we needed ws there. Location in city centre good for the Motorpoint Arena. The breakfast has plenty of choice and the staff were friendly and helpful. Decor was clean and fresh.

Flannesl would be useful.

Staff very helpful and welcoming on arrival at the newly refurbished hotel which is excellently situated. The bedroom large with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast with very helpful and friendly service offers a great selection of continental items or typical full English on offer.

On checking out found staff on reception far less helpful which was a shame as not a good way to encourage returning guests.

room was clean and bigger than expected. Breakfast was excellent

nothing I did not like

A perfect hotel. Everything and everyone was great from the moment we drove up to the entrance to the carpark.

Well looked after. Clean and modern without being bland. Security was good; needing a key card to use lifts or stairs.

All good no issues at all

Everything fine

Location

Staims on towels

Room was clean and comfortable, perfect location for shopping and the event i was attending. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and clean pleasant area. All staff i spoke to were friendly and helpful

Good sized room with sofa, very comfortable and warm. Excellent en suite with plenty of room, lovely hot water and excellent toiletries. Location of hotel very near to the Theatre Royal with amazing views of Nottingham from our 6th floor room.

Nothing.

This is a fantastic hotel, stayed one night with my sister as going to a show. It is literally 2min walk from hotel to Theatre Royal/Royal concert hall. Beds very comfortable, very nice clean room. Great breakfast. All staff very friendly. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you Garner hotel

food was nice ...rooms were good clean and roomy ..staff very friendly

no sound proofing in the rooms and was extremely noisy theough corridors and next door rooms through the night 2/3 o'clock we got woken up with shouting and loud music ...if the rooms were thicker wall and solid doors where there away from the beds a bit more then maybe wouldn't hear to much noise but this was crazy noise that you can hear everything going on so spoilt our time there ...shame as its a nice hotel but couldnt stay there again for that reason

Broken window latch could t close wintow had 2 put a coat hanger 2 keep it closed

Room was large and clean. Walking distance to town centre. Good value for money.

Room nice, staff helpful, pleased to have a parking space

Rooms lovely and clean and the beds best night sleep I've had in ages 💓

The fact that i wasn't sleeping in that lovely comfy bed again ☺️

Room was nice but on a back street so no view. Location brilliant, the one member of staff working breakfast was excellent

i didnt like that there was only one amazing woman doing all of the breakfast alone. She is a credit to the place. The pastries were poor and more vegetarian options would be nice

Location was great, short walk to shops, restaurants, tram line at the end of the road and ideal location for Trent university graduation.

Not everywhere has triple rooms but Garner does. The bathroom was nice and the beds were comfy Great view of Upper Parliament street from the bar

No oat milk available from the bar for teas in our room Car parking spaces were a bit awkward to use and parking was charged separately

Good breakfast. On site parking spaces. Comfortable bed.

The water level rose quickly in the shower so had the potential to overflow. Noisy at the front of the hotel at night time due to local bars.

Everything was excellent except for a booking mix up

We booked 2 single beds but got a double, but it was big enough to still use.

The friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Wet helpful.

Everything was good

Staff were nice. Breakfast was good. Room was big.

The room smelt bad, the windows didn’t open, it was opposite a nightclub and was so loud, the room wasn’t cleaned, the parking wasn’t good - no warning about low ceilings and my boot hit the ceiling when I opened it damaging my car.

Clean and spacious

Location, rooms and price

Location was great. Very central and near most things that we needed. Staff we're generally helpful for what they could do over the weekend. Breakfast was nice and the location for breakfast was great.

The bed frame was broken and the mattress was uncomfortable, the a/c was loud, sink was blocked and the shower head was covered in limescale. Not what I expected for a hotel with a 4 star rating on Booking.com or for a hotel with this cost.

Great location & very clean

Have stayed here a few times. All good, nothing negative.

Convenient for the theatre Royal lovely stay great breakfast

gute Lage in der Innenstadt Parkplatzreservierung moeglich gutes Fruehstueck Zimmer und Bad ausreichend gross

Location excellent, central location to facilties, rooms lovely

Facilities and service

NA

The room was very clean and had everything I expected

Problems with the wifi

Very big room, very good location.

Missing a mini fridge in the room to store our snacks as we were doing a road trip

La ragazza alla reception molto efficiente e simpatica

Struttura poco accogliente molto da rimodernare

Ottima posizione

La moquette un po datata ha sciupato la permanenza

Location, cleanliness and room size

Location

Over priced and very warm rooms air conditioning not working

warm welcome on arrival and given upper floor as requested. room spacious with king size bed. two chairs for relaxing and plenty of wi-fi electrical sockets bathroom spotlessly clean and toiletries supplied. lounge area was very comfortable with a small bar. breakfast was a buffet/self service and food well cooked. hotel is central and close to a tram stop. Staff truly amazing, helpful, nothing was too much trouble

shower was in the bath and being OAPs found it difficult, not stated on website but walk in showers are available on request.

Breakfast was excellent, location is ideal near the Royal Centre. Staff are always exceptionally helpful, there was pizza available in the bar, Everything is clean unlike nearby Premier Inn, bed was comfortable and check in desk sorted out my bookings so we could have necessary sofa in our room.

Evening meal available in restaurant !!! We know demand is low.

El personal,la habitación y la cama,q era muy grande.

Que había bañera y yo ya no tengo edad para subirme bien a ella.

Buzdolabı yoktu.

The room was clean spacious and very comfortable bed.. the staff were very nice and helpful. Very central place easy access to the centre restaurants. A place will definitely stay again and recommend

Like everything about the hotel

It’s the perfect central location in Nottingham.

Close to centre which was perfect. Room mostly clean

The shower push button control was detached from the wall & full of mould.

Comfortable

Lovely hotel in the city centre , car parking options very reasonable prices

Everything was great, nearly perfect !

Would prefer a walk in shower to a shower over the bath, as not easy to get in and out for us pensioners !

Molto bella la stanza ottima la posizione

Il letto del divano non era il massimo

Perfectly positioned for the Trams, Busses and the Theatre Royal. The staff were incredible

Couldn't get on the WiFi

Gentilezza staff, grandezza camera ,pulizia. Posizione a pochi minuti a piedi dalla centro

Il letto scricchiolava a ogni movimento

I loved the location the hotel was clean friendly staff room was lovrly three beds great x

Only if im being picky the bar had no atmospher but theres plenty round about good service and not to dear but for sitting in just nothing else

The room was big, lovely shower/bathroom. Bed was huge and comfy. Aircon was really great. Location was fabulous.

Great location and the staff were really helpful. Room was ready, so we were able to check-in early.

Great hotel in Nottingham center city. Clean and comfortable rooms with AC, good price, kind staff.

sounds strange but the curtains were fantasic was nice to have a dark room with good quality curtains just blinding when opening them in the morning, plenty of space in the room the bed was two singles together to make a massive bed which was good and then there was a 2 person sofa, a desk and hanging space and shelfs, kettle and coffee the plug sockets also had usb and type c charging ports and the lamp had a separate reading light, the bathrrom was clean and tidy had a bath shower. plenty of plugs around the room none of that awkwardness of trying to see in the mirror without pulling the plug when drying/styling your hair. overall pleased with the room the halls were quiet and you couldnt really here people coming or going, the hallway lights were sensored so eventually turned off which it great for the environment and electric bills which is hopefully why the rooms are cheaper. the option to not have rooms clean was nice as then we didnt get disturbed. we stayed many years ago when it was best western and you can see they have upgraded all the hotel which is nice. very close to the theatre and rock city and general town centre.

this is me being really picky the desk wouldve been nice to have a mirror on the wall to do my make up easier but the tv was there. on the side wall there was a floor length mirror so i just moved a table and chair their but just the hassle meh! we had to get front desk to go in as the temostat wasnt very user friendly we couldnt get it off the option of eco and night mode in the settings so the heating was on in the room 🥵 it was at 25° on a allready hot day, but she fixed it and set it to 18° for us so that was all sorted, again just me being picky really on them bits, marked down on the pillows as they were a bit frumpy wasnt expecting Dorma but they were worn to were the pillow stuffing was either side and a gap in the middle were your head goes 😆 this last point is again me just being picky 😅 tap water is fine but we did go out and get bottled wouldve been nice to have a fridge of some sorts to have a cold water but not a must

Great location good value very good staff****

No water in the room no fridge

Confort y amabilidad del personal

Una neverita en la habitación hubiera estado bien

Great Location, and most of the staff.

small uncomfortable bed.

Very clean ,very friendly staff Just perfect once again.

There wasn't anything to not like.

We paid for an upgraded room. We certainly got that in the sense of the size of room and bathroom.

Had to negotiate stairs to room from lift. A/C was not up to standard. Staff explained this was old A/C. Why old in premium room? Fans provided on asking.

Very clean and parking is safe

Breakfast is not included but it’s okay not a big deal.

الموقع / النظافه /

Centrally located and very cost effective.

No restaurant but almost next door are plenty of places to eat. So not a great concern.

Excellent location near the drum stop!

Not value for money

Clean and spacious room with great location for the city centre.

Some noise from the nightlife outside but we did go to bed early.

Good central location. Helpful staff. Clean rooms. Good breakfast

Reception area a bit dark.

Breakfast was nicely cooked and served with a smile. The rooms are always clean. The hotel is really near the Royal Centre and therefore excellent. Staff are always pro-active and securing the best price. Air con works well.

NO evening food available - there always used to be. Been coming to this hotel for over 30 years.

Excellent location and nice restaurant.

One of the rooms needs a new toilet seat. Very stained and not clean.

Room was lovely and large for 2 adults 1 child 17 years

Steps to get into the property and got lift to floor 1 then steps to get to the room

Excellently central, comfortable & friendly welcoming staff. Brilliant air conditioning & other room features.

Really hard to find the car park, even with prior advice of a postcode & a modern satnav which directed us to the Crowne Plaza car park behind the hotel across the road.

Location, welcoming staff and convenient parking

Location brilliant for me

Clean it was very clear

It was such a lovely hotel - staff were lovely and it was very clean and spacious

Nothing

Great location Onsite EV charging

Some maintenance issues incl shower tray not draining away

Clean, good room temperature. Didn't feel stuffy. Staff all really friendly and helpful.

Car park instruction. Looks like it came with room but parking at the hotel is really limited, so unlikely. You will need to park down the road. This could be an issue for customers with limited mobility and there is an additional cost involved.

Staff great, very clean hotel. Breakfast great. Close to everything in the city.

That i didn't find this hotel before. Will definitely stay again.

Air conditioning was working, which was a lifeline in the heat

No vegetarian sausages prepared. Staff said they could cook some for me, however time was tight so had to find an alternative.

Great central location

Shower was weak

location, room, hotel very nice.

Paying £15 a night to park.

Muito confortável, bem central super recomendo.

Great hotel. Central position, close to bars, restaurants, shops and many more. The rooms are nice and clean, with AC. The price is ok. Very kind and helpful staff. I haven’t tried breakfast.

Nothing

Advice

More coffee etc and spoon. Wish car park free

Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast staff. The ladies running breakfast were so kind and helpful, chatty and just made everything feel really positive.

Parking isn't on site, but that was in the information sent, I just skim read and missed that bit!

Overall a great experience at the Garner Hotel Nottingham city centre. I was upgraded to a premium room which was large and well equipped. There were some issues with the first room I was allocated however these were very swiftly put right. The team at the hotel were all absolutely superb and the location is as central as it gets. Parking at the hotel is limited so you need to remember to reserve a space. I would 100% recommend the hotel to anyone. Special mention to Ellie at reception who was fabulous.
