JW Marriott Hotel Beijing

We really like JW Marriott and have stayed at many JW hotels in different cities around the world. We normally have a good experience, but our stay in Beijing was especially nice because of the personal attention we received. The hotel is very comfortable and well located. As Titanium members, we also appreciated the good service during our stay. We really enjoyed the executive lounge. It is a nice and comfortable place. Mrs. Wang, the lounge manager, was always very friendly and helpful. It was especially nice for us to have someone who speaks very good English and who we could easily ask for help when we needed something. She helped us organizing different things during our stay and also made sure our room was comfortable, even helping us with the air conditioning so the air and room temperature was right for us. We really felt we had a personal attention during our stay, which we appreciated a lot. The Concierge team was also very helpful, especially with receiving and keeping track of our many packages. The Guest Relations Manager was also very nice and helpful. We also enjoyed the pool and spa, open until 11 pm. Both are very nice and relaxing after a long day in Beijing. Overall, we had a very good and comfortable stay and would definitely recommend this hotel when visiting Beijing.

I stayed at the Marriott for a few days and had previously stayed at other hotel chains. I already knew that, since I was in China, communication might be more challenging. However, I encountered a somewhat concerning situation: very few staff members spoke English. This was not a major issue at the front desk, but during breakfast and other meals at the hotel, communication was quite difficult. At times, even simple requests, such as asking for salt, were not understood. I do not believe this is the employees’ fault, but rather the hotel’s responsibility. In my opinion, the company should invest more in staff training. It is not reasonable to expect employees, who may not earn high salaries, to pay for learning another language on their own. Offering complimentary English classes to staff would make a significant difference in the experience of international guests. Despite the language barrier, the staff were always polite and willing to help, and I was able to receive assistance every day, even if it sometimes required extra effort. The buffet is good, although on a few occasions I felt that some of the food had been reheated or had been sitting out for too long. In addition, the meat station was often confusing, and some of the dishes I ordered arrived incorrectly. On the positive side, the room is excellent, and the overall service is very good. With greater investment in English training for its staff, I believe Marriott could provide an even more complete experience that better reflects the high international standards of the brand.

Esse hotel foi escolhido porque era claramente dito que não se podia fumar no hotel e nesse aspecto a hospedagem foi perfeita. Em nenhum momento fomos incomodados pelo odor desagradável de cigarro em nenhuma parte do hotel, ainda que num dia vimos um resto de cigarro junto ao elevador de nosso andar e que fosse possível fumar nas mesas de fora do restaurante. No mais, a cama era bastante confortável e a limpeza diária do quarto era muito boa.

A água da piscina era meio fria e não havia um local de banho com água quente que fosse misto. Até havia um no banheiro masculino e outro no banheiro feminino, mas que não podíamos aproveitar como um casal. No entanto, a grande decepção foi o café da manhã, especialmente porque chegamos ao Marriot de Pequim com uma expectativa alta gerada pelo período de 10 dias que passamos imediatamente antes no Marriot de Xangai. O buffet de café da manhã do JW Marriott Hotel Beijing tem grande variedade, mas a qualidade do serviço e das opções deixou a desejar. O leite integral ficava ao lado do leite desnatado, em garrafas sem rótulo dentro de uma bacia de gelo; era difícil diferenciar um do outro, e tínhamos que fazer isso pelo aspecto. Mas o leite era fraco, inferior a qualquer um que eu conseguia comprar na 7Eleven. O suco de laranja tinha um leve gosto de manga; havia pouca variedade de pães, e a baguete era sempre velha; queijos diferentes eram armazenados no mesmo recipiente e havia apenas uma ou duas facas para cortá-los, de modo que um vinha com sabor do outro. Quanto ao serviço... o espaço não era muito amplo, os talheres não eram trocados (eu precisava comer frutas com os mesmos talheres que havia usado para comer ovo, o que é uma bobagem em um hotel comum, mas inadmissível em um cinco estrelas). Poderíamos pedir? Talvez sim, mas é complicado porque a maioria dos funcionários só fala chinês. Havia a opção de pedir ovos mexidos com ingredientes adicionais, marcando os itens desejados em um papel disponível na mesa, mas os pedidos não eram entregues com a identificação; no último dia, eu e meu esposo pedimos os ovos com queijos diferentes e não sabíamos qual era de quem; além disso, os ovos vieram com catchup, que não pedimos e sequer era um dos itens disponíveis no papel. Enfim... muita variedade, mas pouca qualidade.

As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite member, I have stayed at many excellent properties worldwide, but my two recent stays at JW Marriott Hotel Beijing truly stand out as among the very best hotel experiences I have ever had. I was very fortunate to be upgraded to suites on both stays, and the rooms were outstanding—spacious, impeccably clean, well designed, and extremely comfortable. Housekeeping was consistently excellent, with great attention to detail throughout the stay. What truly differentiates this hotel, however, is the service. Every interaction with the hotel staff—from the front desk to housekeeping and the executive lounge team—was professional, attentive, and genuinely warm. The staff consistently anticipated needs and made each stay effortless and welcoming. The Executive Lounge deserves special recognition. The lounge is spacious, quiet, and exceptionally well managed. Food quality was excellent, with a wide variety of options throughout the day, and the service was consistently attentive without being intrusive. Both breakfast and evening offerings were of very high quality and comparable to (or better than) many standalone restaurants. Overall, JW Marriott Hotel Beijing exemplifies what the JW Marriott brand represents: refined luxury, exceptional service, and a memorable guest experience. It is a hotel I would return to without hesitation and one I would confidently recommend to any Marriott elite member or business traveler visiting Beijing.

Excellent location clean and upgraded room as you expect from JWM. Staff r pleasant and helpful. When I called for some extra water, they delivered them within minutes.

5 star all the way The Executive Lounge great WIFI is not the best Location: Though located close to a mall & metro station. It is a distance from city centre or the main shopping and attractions.

I stayed there for 3 nights. This is my second stay. I returned because my first visit was very pleasant. This time round, the stay is just as good. I want to write about the concierge. I have to get a luggage lock in a hurry. I called the front desk and was told to approach the concierge. The staff helped me order online and the item arrived within 20 mins. Amazing!! The staff are all very pleasant and polite.

Facilities and rooms were acc to expectations which you should have staying in JW Marriott - decent standard is part of the package you book. The package should come along with hospitality and smiling staff - unfortunately we did not experience this special JW feature during the one night stay - it is definitely a pity however there are so many other 5 star hotels in Beijing looking forward to receiving and welcoming customers - do never forget that customers are having their voice and finally are able to find better options …

Spacious room and excellent leisure facilities.

One restaurant did not have a menu in English. Reception staff should have a better grasp of basic English. It was difficult to book a table in the restaurant with one receptionist.

Attentive and Great Service from the moment you stepped in. Checking in was a breeze and front desk was very welcoming. During the stay, housekeeping staff was excellent in my level 8 and I must commend them for their attentiveness as I required a pair of scissor and tape to secure my food stuff and they were very prompt and accommodative to help me on that. Turn down service was spotless and even when my friend accidentally threw away something and requested for help, they were able to accommodate as well. During checking out, the front desk even handed over a breakfast pack worried that I was taking such an early flight without food and even usher me to the lounge in the lobby to take a quick bite while waiting for my driver to arrive. Kudos to JW Marriott Beijing, I will definitely return again for this impressive service and experience you had provided.

I really enjoyed stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly. I also contacted the concierge several times about ordering a taxi, various excursions, and so on. Everything was organized in the best possible way

It is many years since I left. When I returned to the hotel, the service is as good as it was. I stayed at this hotel whenever I am in BJ. Despite being more than 10 years ago, the place still gives me a lot of positive memories Location, comfort level, food and service- just great! If anything their buffet spread for breakfast is even more extensive. The Lobby cafe gives a good selection of food and fast service as we were rushing off ! Great response when we told them to help speed up the food They did. Overall I highly recommend the Chao Yang JW Marriott in Beijing. This is a different hotel from the JW Marriott in Central

The comfort of the room, ie the bed and pillows were amazing! We opted for the full meal plan and the food was great, the restaurant offered a great variety of dishes. The staff were helpful in getting us taxis and just in general. Would stay here again.

Very poor internet connection

This is my third visit and it never disappoint. Surrounded by high end mall. A food court with small restaurants across the main entrance of the hotel. Check in was a breeze. The only hiccups is some on the front desk are not fluent english speakers considering this is an american chain.

Good location in centre of Beijing. Easy check in, communal rooms large and comfortable. Staff friendly and welcoming. English spoken. Bedrooms large, clean, well- appointed with very comfortable beds guaranteeing a good night's sleep. Bathroom excellent. Breakfast offering Chinese and Western styles was superb. No complaints.

We had planned & paid for a JW experience but ended up checking out after six nights with a 2-star hotel experience. Not to express all the pain that we had gone through because that might differ guest to guest but here are few tips to be mindful of - beware of how much your card get swiped for during Checkin. I had trusted them assuming a JW kind of ethics but realised during checkout that we were exorbitantly over charged. And they accepted their miss during checkout. Now even after five days if checkout iam still awaiting refund - make sure if you have booked airport pick & drop then the cab type is properly mentioned in trip sheet. We had booked for Mercedes Benz but during checkout we were asked to sit inside a typical sedan. But since were so frustrated with them during six night stay and had realised that they actually don’t take actions to rectify their various mistakes other than standard apologies, that we were about to board the cab we were asked to board without any more complaints. And then someone on their own realised the mistake and then asked us to get down of the cab and re-board the Benz kept for us. - make sure your room AC works as soon as you checkin because it didn’t for us. - do ask someone from front desk to accompany you to your room during checkin specially if you have travelled by a long haul flight because pretty much like in our case they room key won’t work and you will have to run on your own up & down to get key activated. - also ask them to send your luggage along with you after checkin because for us it had required multiple reminders to have our luggages be delivered to our room. - and don’t take it too personal if they outrightly refuse you for executive lounge access despite booking a room with such access because they probably have a system bug. So don’t feel insulted. In summary, do stay there but don’t keep even basic expectations that you normally keep from a JW because there’s none to listen to you. Atleast that’s what we had experienced despite informing their GM, their sales head, their guest service manager well in advance before arrival on how important this trip was for us. Still, with so many lapses, it does raise a question on INTENT. -

No bar or second Resturant facilities

Ground Staff is not conversing English at all and that makes communication very difficult.

Outstanding hotel. Communication before I even arrived was flawless. Everything they arranged for me at the airport was perfect. Luxury, class and perfection. The staff were attentive, and very professional. Could not expect any more. Great room, amazing business lounge. Nice area, great shopping and dining.

Th room was clean and the staffs were very helpful and understanding.

Rooms were not able to be arranged on the same level, thus having difficulties to access there each time I want to go over my family's room.

I stayed two nights at this hotel. It is full service as one would expect. Nice interior and good amenities. My main issue was the room was too warm, 24-25 c no matter what I did with the heating and AC controls. I mentioned it to them and they said the AC is off and they opened a window slightly which made little difference and just brought in noise from the outside. After they provided a fan I put it by the small window opening and it dropped to a still warm 23c. I noticed the common areas like the executive lounge was too warm (even warmer than my room) and they openned windows a little. So it seems they have some heating issues at the hotel, as in too much and dont allow the ac's to be used to compensate for this. The gym was good, there is a separate mens womans lockerroom with sauna, warm bath and steam room. Good amenities overall, and the hotel is next to a very high end mall, with more luxury good stores I knew of.
