Trim Castle Hotel

Location was perfect. Onsite underground parking was great.

The condition of the property was unbelievably bad. This hotel had not been updated since it was built over 20 years ago. The carpeting every where, both in rooms and in common areas was filthy, stained, ripped, poorly patched. Furniture was old and worn and damaged. Just everything about this hotel was in pretty shocking worn out, tired, shabby disrepair. The building itself looks nice from but the inside is a wreck. It needs a complete gut job and redo.

We are both vegan and informed the hotel before our arrival. At breakfast we were provided an Irish breakfast with plant based sausages and all the veggie trimmings. All the staff were lovely and attentive,

At breakfast there was no plant based butter, yogurt, or pastry options. There is a cafeteria 2 minutes walk away from the hotel that sell plant based croissants, so it would have been nice if the hotel made the effort to provide them for us.

The bedrooms are roasting hot so uncomfortable. We left money in the room by accident and rang to let them know it was in the drawer and the receptionist was extremely rude and unhelpful. The deputy manager contacted me to let me know he would investigate and ring me back. He never did.

There was a free for residents car park underneath the hotel with a lift straight to reception which was very handy. The hotel was bright and beautifully decorated. The ladies loos smelled amazing! We had food at the restaurant in the hotel and it was delicious. The views from the bar and our bedroom were straight across to Trim Castle which was also very lovely.

La habitación tenía mucho polvo, como suele ser habitual en este país. El personal de recepción no fue muy amable, parecía que tenían prisa por atendernos y/o hacerse entender. El baño pese a grande muy incómodo. Adaptado a minusválidos, no era fácil sentarse en él. La ducha se sobraba y nos encharcó todo el baño y parte de la habitación.

Unfortunately the brassiere was shut due to renovation work, just poor timing I guess. The bar on the first floor empty and soulless although the staff were lovely.

Location was good. Free Parking for guests underneath hotel was great. It was nice the visit and take a guided tour of the castle.

The rooms were very spacious and very clean. The breakfast was really nice and up to a very good standard.

The pillows were very hard and high. It would have been good to have a coffee machine in the rooms and hot water which can make coffee and tea instead of a kettle. The sink in the bathroom was very high. I had to stand on my tiptoes to try and wash my face. Find it difficult to review the dinner because my family had to wait ovwr 2 hours on our meal. There was a an issue within the kitchen.

Breakfast was fantastic, the room was spotless and staff were super friendly. I forgot something in my room on checkout and a lovely lady at reception helped me get sorted, it was a fab stay

Location lovely. Spa was lovely and felt like good value for money. Although an area to lay on recliner beds would be nice. I do note this was only jus opened. There is a discount for people staying over, 35 euro fro 2 hours access to sauna, hot tub, fancy showers, cold plunge and hydrotherapy pool. The view of the castle from the rooftop spa was spectacular too.

Bathroom in room was lovely and clean but difficult to get in and out of bath for showering. Sink was excessively high and difficult to use therefore. Bed mattress was very springy, would prefer foam mattress.

It was clean and airy perfectly situated for viewing the castle. The staff were helpful and very polite. It was great to have parking included on the premises. The room was large and nicely laid out. All in all a good experience.

I really wasn’t there long enough to find something to dislike about the property. The only thing I found fault with was the placement of my room, it was right by the elevator and the door out to the roof deck. When we arrived there was a child’s birthday party in full swing so needless to say it was quite noisy. That wasn’t a big deal at the time because I wasn’t staying in the room for the evening. Also it was hot. I know we’re having an unusually warm summer.

Wir haben wegen der Wellnesslandschaft auf der Dachterrasse Trim gewählt: die war allerdings entweder noch oder im Bau. Kein Bedauern von der Rezeptionistin, einfach nur die Info. Selbiges für die Teatime, die wir online gebucht haben, aber man muss die 24 Stunden vorher buchen, damit man die dann auch bekommt. Das steht da nur nicht und es gibt auch keine Fehlermeldung, wenn man am gleichen Tag bucht. Ist halt so…

We had our wedding reception at Trim castle hotel on the 25th of July 2026. From day one of booking our wedding with Trim Castle, Jacqueline was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process of planning our special day. She was always on hand ready to answer any questions we had regarding suppliers, vendors and timeline! The attention to detail in the great hall from jacqueline and Richard was set up beautifully 😍 All ours guests were complementing the fabulous food and beautiful surroundings. Everything ran so smoothly on the day from start to finish, we were amazed by the teamwork of our photographer and the hotel staff as we arrived at trim castle we were greeted with a fabulous pint of Guinness with a picture of us from our ceremony 😍 We would highly recommend Trim castle hotel to future couples looking for an unforgettable wedding day. We had an exceptional stay at Trim Castle Hotel in July 2026 while visiting Trim for a family wedding. The hotel was beautiful, spotless, and exceptionally well maintained. What truly made our stay memorable was the outstanding staff. Every team member we encountered was warm, friendly, and eager to help. A special thank you to Niamh at the front desk, who went above and beyond throughout our stay. Whether we needed recommendations for local attractions or assistance with anything at the hotel, she was always welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to help. Her exceptional customer service made us feel right at home. We highly recommend Trim Castle Hotel and would gladly stay here again on our next visit to Ireland.

Long check in wait even though our check in time was 4 the receptionist told us (and not very politely) that the cleaners weren’t ready. It wasn’t ready until 4.40. We had to sit in the lobby by reception and just wait. Room was very small and tv didn’t work. I rang reception to see if they could get it working and they said they would send someone. After a 45 minute wait we rang back and said it was fine that we were just going to sleep. Honestly wouldn’t stay here again. Hotel is very nice but lacking in customer care.

The bedroom was very warm at night time making it difficult to sleep. Also the room key had to be reprogrammed twice during our stay but the reception staff sorted it very quickly both times.

We had the opportunity to travel to Trim, Ireland for a family wedding and we made a full weekend out of it! The accommodations were lovely, comfortable, & great for our family of four. The staff was friendly, the food in the restaurants and at the wedding was delicious, & the location was perfect for us to walk and explore the rest of Trim!

Beautiful view, lovely town, close drive to funtasia and emerald park which is why we were visiting. The room was absolutely massive and overall the entire hotel is beautiful.

Bedroom was really warm and stuffy and no a/c. Handbasin in bathroom was blocked and, despite reporting it, was never fixed. Hostess at breakfast was unfriendly, verging on rude , and breakfast was mediocre so didn’t avail of it on the second day.

We had a lovely family get together with nice food. Service was excellent, Ausra was great, very friendly and especially great with kids as well.

Spent a gorgeous morning here. Was in need of some r&r and the thermal rooftop delivered. Staff were friendly and informative giving us a little tour and explaining the facilities. Booking my return very soon!! 5 star experience.

I visited the new rooftop thermal experience at Trim Castle Hotel with a group of friends and we were all absolutely blown away by it. Each of the thermal options are just pure bliss. The eye level views of the castle while you relax and chat with your friends are incredible. The manager and staff went over and above to ensure we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. I plan to make this a regular get together with the girls, and also with my husband. Left feeling so incredibly relaxed and nourished.

Second time in this hotel. Great location, Miss Katie from the front office was very accommodating, pleasant and top professional in handling guests. Miss Jade was another staff with superb rapport. Attended my son's wedding here. Perfect location, wonderful atmosphere with the exceptional staff especially Laima and Richard. The food, presentation and overall experience was outstanding. You'll not beat the service and accommodation.

Our stay from the time we arrived to the time we left was very pleasant. I have never come accross such smiley staff. They were very attentive. I would recommend other hoteliers to take a trip to this hotel, to see customer service at it's best. All staff very young. Gold star to their trainer. Another area I would like to comment on is the food. Great selection and very good portion size and piping hot. It's the first breakfast I have had in a hotel that was hot and I have hotel stays six times a year.

One night at the end of our trip. Wedding party with a band going until 3 AM. Large stain on carpet and TV broken which was unable to be fixed. Definitely not a four star hotel. Beyond awful

I stayed at Trim Castle Hotel for two nights in July with my mother on an over 50’s break from beginning to end our stay was seamless the hotel receptionist Elisa was so kind allowing us to avail of our beautiful room overlooking Trim Castle earlier than the official time . Every staff member we met was helpful and smiling from reception,housekeeping to restaurant staff . We enjoyed our gorgeous evening meals overlooking the Castle and breakfast was great Looking forward to staying again and have recommended Trim Castle Hotel and Trim to family and friends

We had a wedding here mid July. Dealing with the staff was a dream, could not have done more for us , from reservations to planning to execution these guys are masters of their craft. If you are looking to get married here you are in capable hands and will not be disappointed. Lots of extra surprises along the way courtesy of the staff. A+ recommendation. The rooms were amazing also , very spacious and modern and anything needed was easily accessible. Shout out to Orla , Elisa and Richard who all just smashed every part of our wedding from the get go. 👏

My Mam had her 80th birthday party here. The setting was beautiful with drinks on the roof terrace and then the party room had a full glass wall overlooking trim castle. The food was excellent and the staff were all really great. I want to give a big shout out to the reception staff who were all so friendly and nice. Our room was a family room and it was large and spotless. Can’t say enough nice things about this hotel. We all really enjoyed our stay.

I booked with the intention of seaweed bath and mud bath.....contrary to what was advertised...not open to till october. Secondly, main resturant closed on a monday night which was nice to see as i had reviewed menu on l8ne.

The staff were friendly . Views of castle . The beds were comfortable.

The entrance hallway rug needed cleaning.. the roof terrece wasn't open. The shower splashguard seal was leaking and so there was water all over floor when we showered. It was a non smoking room but there was a strong smell of smoke in it. We sat outside on the seating and table provided having a pre dinner drink whist enjoying the view of the castle. Unfortunately the area was littered with table napkins.

Firstly, all the good stuff. We had prepaid, so check-in was easy. the hotel is in a great location, directly across from Trim Castle. The town is beautiful. The staff were pleasant, particularly Aoife who looked after us at dinner the first night. Spacious, airy room and the fan was on when we got in, very welcome. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. Hot food is served to order, plenty of continental breakfast options. My minuses are little things and didn't detract too much from the overall experience. No fridge or shower caps in the room; service was sketchy (offered coffee twice while we were still eating cereal at breakfast, then got cold coffee when I asked later). At dinner the second night they got my husband's order wrong and then brought out my dish only. We had to ask eventually for my husband's dinner, by which time mine was cold. Overall a good experience in a lovely, clean hotel.

The hotel is in the town centre so very convenient for visiting Trim Castle. All downstairs areas were air conditioned which was lovely during a rare Irish heatwave. The bedrooms did not have air conditioning but fans were placed in the room to try to cool it down. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Trim Castle Hotel overlooks Trim Castle so not a Castle Hotel. Hotel modern with car parking which is complimentary for hotel guests. Checkin was easy as the hotel has an unusual 72hours pre pay your stay or it will be cancelled. We stayed on the third floor there was a wedding and there was no noise coming through to our room. The bath is quite high to get into and the shower is not separate. Not the easiest to use. Nice Voya products. No shower cap or face cloth. No bathrobes or slippers in the room we were in. As the weather was beautiful and hot there was a fan supplied in the room. Everywhere throughout the hotel was spotless. Very impressive. Bailies Brassiere was casual dining for evening meals. The food on both evenings was delicious and servers were helpful and efficient.Hot breakfast picked from the menu was brought to your table which had beautiful white tablecloths. You could have a continental buffet for starters. There are new hot tubs and spa areas being constructed on the roof which will be fabulous when finished. This was our first visit to this hotel and hopefully not our last. Throughly recommend a visit. Great value for money.

Ive stayed in Trim Castle Hotel a couple of times. This time it was my friends wedding. Where do I start..the whole day from start to finish was exceptional. Food is excellent so delicious The staff couldn't do enough for us they're fantastic. Special shout out to Richard the manager he went out of his way to make our day super special nothing was too much trouble absolute gent. We were treated to a fabulous firework display on the rooftop. Perfect day Perfect hotel
