Location was great and how quaint it was!

The toilet plumbing was unusual.

Location to town was great. Rooms were clean and cozy.

The shower was dangerous. It was a claw foot bathtub with high sides. Very hard to climb into and slippery. The water pressure was horrible. Beds were very firm and uncomfortable.

Everything was great as usual. Great location and easy to go to town.

The walls are quite thin, which we hadn’t noticed before because our previous stays the guests were very quiet. Unfortunately, this time the people in the neighbouring room came in drunk at 2am and were extremely loud.

The location was great, and the room was comfortable.

The shower faucet didn't work well. No matter what we tried we couldn't get the hot water cool enough to bear, so we couldn't use it.

I have stayed with Geraldine at Highfield House on many occasions now, and every time is as good as the last. The rooms are absolutely spotless and excellent shower facilities. For tourists, it is perfectly located right across from Trim Castle. Geraldine is the perfect hostess and I look forward to staying there many more times in the future.

Sparkling clean, quiet at night, very welcoming and friendly owners. The location is just perfect - walkabla distance to pubs, restaurants, shops.

The location was excellent as it was near the castle and town centre. The grounds were lovely and the building had a lovely 'old style' feel about it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this Guesthouse as a place to explore Trim and its surroundings.

There was a funny smell in the hallway when we arrived. It wasn't in our room and seemed better the next morning. Maybe something spilled?

Al centro della cittadina, a due passi dal castello. Camere accoglienti anche se il terzo letto era aggiunto molto vicino al matrimoniale da lasciare poco spazio. Molto gentile l’accoglienza e bellissimo il giardino di fronte, con spazio auto.

Il letto a baldacchino ci faceva paura.

The welcome we received and the old features in the house as well as the beautifully maintained garden … oh and the donkeys across the road!

I didn’t see the drinking water that was left for us on the windowsill so we spent the night parched but it was totally our fault that we missed it!

We had a lovely relaxing stay. Very welcoming and friendly. Could not pick any faults, we had a really nice time. Trim is such a treat to visit.

Comfortable small hotel in attractive grounds situated near local historic attractions. It is worth staying here for the remarkable artworks on the stairs and corridors. The staff are pleasant and helpful with local information.

L'accueil était un peu anonyme. C'est un grand hôtel qui reçoit beaucoup de gens. C'est aussi une "boîte à mariages", et au final seule la façade est historique.

I always love staying at Highfield House, rooms are exceptionally clean, so comfortable and relaxing. Geraldine is always a pleasure to deal with, so welcoming also.

It was decorated so beautifully! Very clean and only a few guests on site which was great for noise and privacy.

- Wunderschönes historisches Gebäude mit viel Charme. Das ehemalige Geburtshaus wurde liebevoll erhalten und vermittelt eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre. - Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr schön gestaltet. - Der Garten ist ein echtes Highlight – mit einer traumhaften Aussicht direkt auf das Trim Castle. - Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. - Das Personal war freundlich, auch wenn der Umgang etwas knapp wirkte. - Die Lage ist ideal: Restaurants, das Schloss, Cafés, Pubs und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar.

- Ein kleiner Kühlschrank oder eine Minibar im Zimmer wäre eine schöne Ergänzung. Alternativ steht den Gästen jedoch ein Gemeinschaftskühlschrank auf dem Flur zur Verfügung.

I thought breakfast would have been included

We were attending a wedding in the town. The Guesthouse was very convenient to the church and hotel, we could walk to both. My room was spacious. The view from the windows was of the back garden, so it was very quiet during the night. The room and the ensuite were spotlessly clean. Tea/coffee making facilities were provided in the room. The staff were friendly and did their best to have the room ready so that we could change for the wedding, much appreciated. Good car parking space on the grounds.

This is not a criticism: it is just a pity that they no longer serve breakfast, I knew this before I booked, but when I saw the gorgeous house and gardens, I thought it would be lovely to have breakfast there!

Perfect location near Trim Castle, beautiful building & decor, upgraded to double room (thank you!), with spotless en suite. Good off road parking & well maintained gardens.

Really all was perfect but if anything self check in, no staff, no breakfast had it feel a little soulless for such a grand house. That's just me.

The room was an excellent price. The location was excellent. The guesthouse itself looks fantastic. On top of that, Geraldine was very helpful in arranging early check-in. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Trim.

An exceptionally clean and well appointed historical home set within easy walking distance of all of Trim's many attractions. The grounds are exquisitely maintained and reflective of the attention to detail found throughout. Though without breakfast, several thoroughly inviting cafes are located closeby. This guesthouse is a true gem.

Couldn’t have picked a nicer place to stay for our last night in Ireland. Between the room we had, the closeness to both Trim Castle (across the street) and the town itself (an easy 10 minute walk), it was a perfect way to end our trip.

Absolut bombastisch tolle Ausstattung! Das ganze Haus hat diesen Charme, auch die Zimmer (Deckenhöhe war um die 4 Meter). Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und man bekommt viele Tipps was man in dem schönen Ort alles unternehmen und anschauen kann. Das Örtchen ist von dort schnell fußläufig zu erreichen. Zimmer waren sehr sauber.

Such a lovely place! The rooms are well decorated and well stocked for guests. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The host was super nice and friendly. She shared local pubs and cafes for us to visit during our stay in Trim. Highly recommend!

The front and lobby area were very beautiful. The location was great for walking to shops and restaurants. Great parking.

We felt very isolated there when inside. Not very welcoming. We did not see any people and did not have access to other common spaces. The man who checked us in mentioned a kitchen, but we could not find one. We were hoping to have access to more of the beautiful property and common areas, but they did not appear to be open to the guests. If they were, we were not told.

A beautiful house! Our room was huge with a nice bathroom. It’s in the perfect location across from Trim Castle. There’s a lovely river walk across the street and restaurants close by. Nice stay!
