The Lovat, Loch Ness

Loved the hotel. Very cosy good located to visit lock ness. Staff really friendly. Very comfortable room with small terrasse in front. Fantastic breakfast with a menu card to choose from. The only problem was we only stayed for one night would have liked to stay more nights and eat at their gourmet restaurant. Next time we will stay longer.

A beautiful hotel with lovely, clean rooms and a very spacious bathroom. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit, the breakfast was great, and dinner was exquisite! The staff were very accommodating of my dietary restrictions and preferences and adapted the menu perfectly. An absolute recommendation!

Seldom does a guesthouse exceed expectations in terms of the standard of the accommodation and service, but this one does. It is a grand guesthouse, full of antiques and family treasures, yet it feels welcoming and intimate and we really enjoyed the welcome hot toddy made on earl gray tea. Breakfast was superb and plentiful. The buffet had an excellent selection of cereals, fruits, berries and the cooked breakfast was delicious and kept us going till mid afternoon. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The attention to detail is impressive and the staff are attentive. It is an easy few minute stroll into town and we were also able to borrow mountain bikes to ride along the canals, well worth doing on a good day. A beautiful property on every level, I would highly recommend a few nights here. Congratulations to the management and staff for providing an exceptional experience in this gorgeous part of Scotland.

I absolutely loved this property. Staff were amazing, so helpful. Rooms were big and beautiful and the beds comfortable. The real highlight here is the food. Hands down the best food we’ve had on this 40 day tour. All local and fresh, foraged earlier in the day mushrooms… this food was really something special. Super creative with hits of the forest and herbs in every bite. The team runs it so fluid like, it’s just perfect. Everything homemade, this was really a treat. Thank you 🙏

It's a very comfortable hotel with lovely rooms and bathroom. The food was outstanding. Great location.

It positions itself as really top level, with prices to match. The food was worth it - not sure the room price is quite justified. Just didn't quite have the personal touch that some of the owner operated places we visited, did have. We visited 9 hotels/BNBs on our trip to Scotland and I rated this 6th. My wife voted it top! For me it just needed that extra bit of really good confident personal service to justify the price tag.

Beautiful property in a lovely picturesque little town, at loch Ness. The loft rooms are lovely, spacious, very clean, quiet and great bathrooms. Appreciated the biscuits and my son loved the fabulous hot chocolate in the room, the breakfast was really really good. Lock in nearby gave us a good pub meal. It was old time grace and hospitality and thoroughly enjoyed that. Highly recommend and am so happy to have chosen Fort Augustus over Inverness.

Would have liked Ala carte options in hotel restaurant, as everything closes really early and we had to hunt for dinner.

Perfection. Beautiful rooms, common spaces, dining areas, and more! The staff was so kind and respectful. Wow! So close to town and the canal. Perfect.

Amazing place!

Our room was lively, spacious and bed was so comfy. Loved the double shower with two shower heads and a deep bath. Good facilities in room with tea, coffee, water and biscuits.

Se vi trovate di passaggio per le Highlands dovete assolutamente fermarvi qui! Io e mio marito siamo rimasti una notte perché dovevamo continuare il nostro giro ma devo dire che il soggiorno è stato davvero meraviglioso! Il B&B, così come la stanza, è bellissimo, curato nei minimi dettagli, pulitissimo e accogliente. Si percepisce la passione e l'attenzione che i proprietari dedicano a ogni particolare. Il personale è stato estremamente gentile, disponibile e sempre sorridente, facendoci sentire come a casa. La colazione è eccellente: oltre a un buffet con diverse proposte, è possibile scegliere dal menù diversi piatti preparati al momento, caldi e deliziosi. Un valore aggiunto che rende il soggiorno ancora più speciale. Un'esperienza che consiglio vivamente! Ci torneremo sicuramente!

夜遅く着いて、翌朝出てしまったのが勿体無い、素敵なホテルでした。もっとゆっくりと、この伝統を感じさせるホテルを楽しみたかったです。スタッフの対応も設備もさすがというレベル。また朝食の素晴らしいこと！歩いてすぐネス湖があり、落ち着いた静かな町の雰囲気も良かったです。

The pressure in in the shower was very poor.

Value for money, everyone else in our group paid £200 for a nice day where we for some reason played just under £400 All using Booking.com

The staff were very friendly and helpful, thank you. Bike store was also great as we cycled from Fort William. The cycle store kept our bikes dry and gave us peace of mind they were secure.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed on Mondays when we stayed with you. We would’ve liked to have eaten there ideally.

The food in the restaurant was exceptional and the waitress staff was very knowledgeable, this is our second time eating here and it didn’t disappoint 🤗

Zeer professioneel personeel, vriendelijk, behulpzaam. Uitstekend ontbijt. Wij zaten in 2 kamers, een tuinkamer in het buitengebouw. Deze zijn iets moderner en hebben een tuin, 1 minuut lopen naar het hotel. Mooie kamer met alle voorzieningen, wel douche in het bad, wat voor lange mensen iets minder. De andere kamer was een luxe kamer in het hoofdgebouw met zeer veel ruimte en alles er op en er aan. Helemaal tip-top in orde.

Eigenlijk niets maar je betaalt een stevige prijs. Daar krijg je een hoop voor terug maar toch

Got continental breakfast, and came down late. Pasterise were gone and not replenished. No toast.

Abbiamo soggiornato nella dependance, la stanza, posta a piano terra, aveva una piccola zona esterna recintata con affaccio sui monti circostanti, ideale anche per chi porta n vacanza il proprio pet. Parcheggio gratuito in struttura. Colazione fantastica con prodotti locali.

The staff were very helpful and informative. Made you feel welcomed and relaxed. Lovely atmosphere.

Our room only had one stool to sit on so I found it difficult to put my shoes and socks on as I have bad arthritis.

Vrij hoog bed om in te stappen. Ruimte in de kamer is vrij beperkt, maar voldoende voor 1 nacht.

Tolles Ambiente. Kaminfeuer am Nachmittag. Spiele und Puzzles wurden zur Verfügung gestellt. Tolles Frühstück.

Personal extrem langsam. Gingen an den Gästen vorbei ohne zu fragen ob etwas gebraucht wurde oder um Abzuräumen. Um 8.30 hat es keine Bananen mehr gegeben, Joghurt wurde nicht nachgefüllt. Überhaupt wurde das Buffet nicht beachtet.

Fin da subito ci siamo sentiti a casa, il personale è stato molto accogliente e disponibile. Un grazie in particolare va ad Aaquib, che ha saputo rendere il nostro soggiorno ancora più piacevole. Da segnalare la possibilità di usufruire di servizi come biciclette (gratuito), colazione da non perdere e il ristorante che non si dimentica facilmente. Super consigliato! :)

Nous avons adoré cet hotel et les petites attentions. Boisson a notre arrivee, chocolat chaud ... Bain moussant pour la baignoire. Lit d'1m de haut impressionnant ! Nous avons profité des salons pour jouer aux echecs et fqire du puzzle.

Je ne vois pas quoi dire... Peut etre le prix du petit dejeuner trop elevé pour une famille.

Chambre littéralement sur le parking - pas digne d’un 4*** - réveil matinal (6h50) en raison d’un camion de livraison qui s’est arrêté devant notre chambre.. sur le parking donc. Petit-déjeuner écossais pas servi avant 8h00 - impossible de l’avoir avant - même à 7h45!

Stay at the Lovat is like a old country side hotel charm with fire place, piano etc. The rooms are spacious and big. They leave small goodies for you in the room like hot chocolate . The food in this place is the highlight, be it breakfast or dinner. Both were excellent quality with many options and all ingredients are fresh and locally sourced.

Rooms were saunas when we arrived and heated up quickly again even after airing out and turning thermostat down. Minor dusty spiderwebs on the lamps, but otherwise clean. Dinner/breakfast which was a tad too pricey for our taste

Beautiful hotel right at the bottom of Loch Ness - really peaceful and the food is excellent. Bonus points for the welcome drink and cocktails by the fire whilst playing scrabble.

The rooms are fine but the bathrooms could do with an update as they’re a little tired but clean. Also our room, 18, was below an area where some kind of fan or washing machine was on for most of the stay except at night. Not the loudest but wasn’t the most peaceful and started back up at 7/8 in the morning.

This hotel is a true gem. Every detail is carefully considered, and the décor throughout the property is simply remarkable. The staff is incredibly helpful, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The central location makes it easy to explore, yet the hotel remains wonderfully calm. Highlights include the beautiful piano and cozy fireplaces, which add a unique charm and warmth to the atmosphere.

Wie fast auf jeder Reise nach Schottland, machen wir hier einen Stopp. Sehr freundlicher Empfang mit Hot Toddy im Kaminzimmer. Dieses mal gab es eine ein kostenloses Zimmer Upgrade. Sehr schönes Zimmer. Klein, aber fein. Besonders gemütlich war das große, hohe Bett. Frühstück war auch sehr gut! Leckeres Brot zum Full English Breakfast. Auswahl an Croissants, guter Kaffee. Alles da.
