Breakfast staff were really wonderful and helpful. Polite with a friendly demeanour.
The staff at check in were poor communicators. One was patronising and rude (wearing a blazer so assume she was management which is perhaps worse).
Friendly staff, great bed, clean room and shower
Staff were friendly and accommodating - check in was smooth. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast had a nice variety.
Pity lift was out of order.
Convenient for where we were going.
Lift not working and decorating a bit out dated.
The area The room The reception staff The carpark Would definitely stay again
4 pound bottle of water 3 pound can of Fanta Apart from that I was out of hotel most of day only really used for sleeping
Dinner served till 9.30 Switched to ground floor room as lift out of order Quiet room
Room looked run down with damage to tiles in bathroom not addressed. Door did not always close properly so needed to check Heating slow to warm
Location is perfect as Daughter is at Salford Uni, and free parking is a bonus.
Lift wasn’t working the whole time we were there
Good breakfast with attentive staff. Went out of their way to provide items not on the buffet.
The third sleeping bed was horrible. U could feel the metal frame through the mattress. We asked for a second mattress on top but they only covered the frame with towels. I would say u cannot sleep 3 with the sofa bed provided. The lift was not working and we had to haul 3 large cases up flight of stairs. The girl at reception offered help but it was a gesture rather than a service that maybe should have been provided if the lift was out. There were only 2 ladies on duty as we arrived relatively late in the evening. WiFi also was terrible.
Everything just upset as someone scratched my car overnight & I wanted the car reg so that I can inform the police & insurance company and was refused
As above
The room was clean
The quality of the food at breakfast was not the best. The selection of food was good but the quality of the produce was not the best. The black pudding was poor quality, the sausages were mainly filler - not very good. The bacon was tough. Eggs, beans and mushrooms were fine - but you can’t go wrong with them.
Meals were perfect and staff were lovely. We found Molly to be really accomodating and very nice.
Floor boards a bit creaky in corridor and lift was broken but I'm being picky hotel was great
good location
damp smell in room lift was broke
Breakfast was great. Free car parking
No lift
Free parking until midnight the last day of your stay. This allowed us to leave the car until we were ready to drive home

Spacious lobby lounge and cafe area. The bed and toilet were cleaned. The hotel is conveniently located. Helpful receptionist when we checked in.
The hotel carpet looks dirty and the followings: My booking included the breakfast. When I checked in, the receptionist could't identify that breakfast was included. She spent a bit to checked and finally confirmed. By then I expected she had updated the hotel system. On the next day, we went for breakfast, the restaurant lady couldn't find that breakfast was included so we were not eligible. She asked the supervisor's help but still still failed to find my breakfast record in the system. WORST, there was another family came. Supposedly the staff should validate this family's eligibility too before letting them in. However, the lady just let them be seated because she and the computer were engaged with my validation. I asked why she could let them in and she replied that she would checked when my validation was done. This was a POOR handling which is NON-RESPECTFUL to us and also EMBARRASSED us a lot. 1. If the staff could let another family be seated prior to validation, why she couldn't treat us the same? Then we (my husband and daughter) didn't need to stand outside the restaurant and looked like the breakfast free-riders in front of other guests! She simply didn't treat customer fairly! 2. It is the hotel's system problem for not updating my booking record after it was cleared when I checked-in. When the supervisor couldn't find my booking record in the cafe system, I asked him to check with the check-in counter. He checked and validated after done and he amended to the correct status, however, just amended without sorry or apologize to us! It is not the guest's responsibility to teach the staff how to validate the client's booking. When the booking was checked and cleared during check-in, it's the hotel's responsibility to update the restaurant record to ensure the hassle-free to us. Is Holiday Inn still a world class brand?
Clean n close to where we needed to be
The noise coming from upstairs customers. We were in room 2 ground floor
Amazing location in terms of how close it was to town but it was way too loud. The staff were amazing and the beds were comfy. It was very clean too
It was way too loud, you could hear every little thing, people walking so loudly above us. Bedrooms are absolutely tiny and the plugs were wayyyy too far
Breakfast was nice, and Lilly was very polite and looked after us very well.
L'ascenseur en panne
Very friendly staff at the reception. The facilities good, the hotel clean and tidy, including the room, with tea and coffee, great value for money and a good location, I was able to park easily, breakfast excellent so overall a great experience and I will return on my next visit.
Nothing all good.
Location and service
Excellent breakfast friendly staff
Room smelled stale, carpet stained, grout in bathroom floor mouldy
staff, they're very kind and friendly
Friendly staff Clean and comfortable
Lift out of order and our room was on the second floor
Nice position just a 15 min walk from the city centre. Bar area was really nice, Starbucks coffee served if you wanted to pay the extra.
Very sparse on complimentary items. No water bottle, biscuits on the tea tray.
The breakfast was great room.very comfortable staff were nice and friendly
Nothing
The staff were very good, pleasant and always ready to help.
The lift was out of order and being an elderly couple with mobility challenges staying in the 2nd floor for 2 days. The booking in lady did suggest we get a room on ground floor but it had 2 single beds instead of a double bed which we preferred. So I turned that down.I had a big bag which I did get help to go up but on day of leaving I had to carry it by myself. On day of checking in I was informed they were expecting an engineer on the day but it looks like noone came.
Lovely staff Very good breakfast Central location Free parking
We have stayed at this hotel many times over the last four years due to its proximity to Salford University and have previously been very happy with it. The excellent location and free, secure parking remain an advantage. The breakfast is also still good. Most of the reception staff are lovely and helpful, with the notable exception of the duty manager and receptionist on 17 July 2026. However, we have been dismayed that maintenance standards have dropped notably over the past year or so.
This will sadly be the last time we stay at this hotel due to increasing lack of maintenance, coupled with unacceptably poor customer service. When we checked in on 16 July, we were allocated room 229 on 2nd floor. The lift was not working (and according to staff, has been problematic over the last few months). We are in our 60s and had heavy luggage, so it would have been nice if we had been offered a room on a lower floor - or at least offered assistance with our luggage. Sadly neither of these offers were forthcoming. On entering the room, the heat was infernal. It was the middle of a heatwave but the hotel has air conditioning, and the aircon could have been switched on in advance so that the room was cool for guests on arrival. We switched on the aircon ... and after nearly two hours of sweltering, it was clear that what we had activated was simply the fan function and not the aircon. We tried to contact reception via the room phone, to find that this did not work. I walked down to report this matter to the receptionist, and within a few minutes the duty manager came to investigate. The aircon didn't function well, but at lease cooled down the room enough for us to get to sleep. We were offered a change of room, but were simply too tired. The next evening (17 July) we experienced exactly the same problem. I again walked downstairs to report the problem to the receptionist (different to the previous day), who was somewhat dismissive, but agreed to contact the duty manager. Over an hour later, he had not arrived, so I trekked down to reception again, to find that there had been a lack of communication between him and the receptionist and that our issue had not been prioritised. No meaningful apology from the manager when he arrived. Just inference that we should have accepted the room swap we'd been offered.
Very good quality for price! Lovely hotel with an excellent breakfast!!
Room was quite small but clean and overall ok. Staff very helpfull. Breakfast was very rich.
Good location, great staff. All areas very clean...Delicious breakfast...
The shower ran hot and cold...
It was clean modern easy to book into staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely book again
Nothing to say bad
Nice stay, comfortable, staff were friendly. The air con in the room was leaking and it created a big puddle on the floor. We didn’t see it until we were checking g out - it’s not a complaint as these things happen I’m just making you aware Also breakfast was lovely!
The bathroom was a bit dated but not an issue
Location was good, Molly on reception was excellent.
The bed and pillows weren't comfortable
Location and staff
Cleanliness and lack of plug sockets
Staff unhelpful. Booked months in advance only to be told no twin rooms available
The room is spacious
Stains on the carpet
Room was clean and comfortable. The bar area was nice and the staff friendly.
The breakfast was dreadful, it was a hot buffet which had empty trays, this was at 8.30am, had to find a member of staff to fill up the bacon, eggs, tomatoes which took ages, the sausage was raw in the middle. The cold continental buffet, the same, empty trays, fruit and yogurt empty! Again had to search for a member of staff to fill up empty trays. Sadly lacking staff and manager to ensure the buffet areas were kept full. I would never stay here again given the added cost of breakfast which was not good at all.
Good, clean rooms and washroom. Easy check in and parking included. Short drive/ tram to city centre.
Price not bad but could be a bit lower
Excellent location, lots of parking space
A nice spacious room with a large bathroom very clean and comfortable
Nice friendly staff but originally the receptionist gave us a room on the second floor and the lift was out of order, so we had to ask for a room on the ground floor…I just think common sense should have prevailed!
Breakfast had an array of choice, air conditioning and Black out curtains.
Connecting room and door for carer…was let out to other people and only a paper thin door 🚪 protects you from next room. Can even hear whispers and bags zipping; makes you very on edge especially when suffering from mental disabilities. The shower floor was level with the floor in the bathroom, so water floods everywhere.
On arrival the lady on reception was very helpful & friendly as were all the staff for the rest of our stay. We had a room for 3 people. The beds were very comfortable & clean. The bathroom clean with everything we needed.
The shower hose leaked a bit.
All of the staff were super friendly. Katie who checked us in and out , was very welcoming and helpful. I liked that the bar / restaurant stayed open till late so even after an evening out , you could have a sit down to wind down before heading for bed. The whole area ( from the car park , the communal areas and rooms) was very clean. The room had enough storage place for our stay and the bed was really comfortable.
The garden area at the back could be made into an outside seating area as it looked a bit neglected.
The location is easy to find, parking is secure. The rooms are clean and comfortable with no hassle.

Well air conditioned on the hottest day, friendly staff, comfortable beds and clean all around
Nothing!
The staff were really nice, welcoming and helpful. They let us check in early, they also helped us with directions and booking ubers. They also gave me a first aid kit when i fell over. The beds were really comfy. The parking was free. We felt pretty safe, the doors had double locks and there was staff in the reception 24/7. The room had 3 mirrors which was good as we traveled as a group of friends so we needed this to get ready. Over all really good, i would recommend.
There was only 2 plugs in the whole room which didn't fit our needs. There were chargers on the lamps but only 1 of them worked. The air con was weak, it didn't move downwards and was in an awkward position so it didn't even reach us. The shower head didn't stay up and on the second night we stayed the water pressure was pretty weak. But these are not big deals it was overall really good.
Nice friendly staff, lovely clean rooms and comfy beds
NA
Friendly, welcoming staff. Free parking
One of the hotel cards in our room hadnt been changed. Had some Information on it from the previous person that stayed in the room. Didn't like there were no plug sockets near the bed. No toilet brush in the bathroom.
Clean and comfortable

Great free parking, hotel easy to find, good facilities, lovely front of house staff, great air con and comfortable main bed
Sofa bed was not made up when we arrived and we asked for this to be done but when we came back to hotel after our night out, it was still not made up, which was very disappointing. When we then asked for bedding for the sofa bed we were just given 2 sheets and a pillow and so our daughter was very cold (thanks to the very efficient air con). Katie was excellent on our departure and understood and acknowledged our disappointment - thank you
Accessible, and good facilities in the room
Carpets in the bedroom may be could do with a clean
The staff were all very pleasant, helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was really good, the room was a good size with a comfortable bed. The parking was really convenient , drive straight in and hassle free.
excellent breakfast with good labellign of foods and separate area for gluten free , bed comfortable with 2 pillows
plug sockets!! there was only 1 socket in far corner of room, not accessbile from beds, had to move kettle etc to plug in, no milk on coffee/ tea tray
Warm welcome, very helpful, location just outside city centre Bar & lounge area. Breakfast was good

Excellent friendly staff team that went out of their way to be helpful.
It was all fine.
Lovely staff
Nothing really walls need a repaint
good room - comfy bed. basic tea tray- maybe a few biscuits
confusion over breakfast - expensive to add on and told 2 different prices. quite pricey for room and no breakfast
Staff were friendly, helpful and interested. The room was very clean and comfortable (slept well).
Evening food very average. A much nicer salad option wood have been good. Lift didn’t work for the weekend I was there. More of a lounge area to work/sit/read/have a coffee would have been nice.
Good selection for breakfast, lots of hot water for a bath or shower, good size room, good location for Uni of Salford.
The charging lead in the bedside table did not work.
Good value for Manchester. Public transport into the city was nearby. Easy parking

Room was clean and spacious.
The lift being out of service, having to climb 2 flights of stairs with cases and bags. Have £1 pending on my card so that things can be charged for.
Good location for the event I was attending. Great breakfast choice and lovely staff.
Noisy floorboards, needed to change rooms due to the noise from above.
Great location, free parking, great staff
The room we were in was above some sort of facilities room, struggled to sleep due to vibration and hum.
Really nice staff, great car parking, lovely breakfast
Nothing
We were a family of five with three young children. We requested at the time of booking to have connected rooms or at least two rooms together however the hotel provided rooms far away without any consideration of separating the family and young children.
The bed was very comfortable, I had a great night sleep. For me personally, the location was ideal as my son lives a 5 minute walk away. The breakfast was excellent. Well presented and plentiful.
I enjoyed everything about my stay.
staff were very friendly and allowed me and my friends to relax in the common area as we were in town for the card tournament so it was nice to be able to relax and practice and the staff were happy to let us use the common area for this
Very close to city centre, friendly/helpful staff
The receptionist on the Sunday afternoon/evening when I arrived and later (Mollie, I think her name was) was very welcoming and helpful and made a huge difference to the quality of my stay. When I returned from my concert she provided me with paper to write down the set list the band had played while it was still fresh in my mind. The food in the restaurant on Sunday evening was also very good, represented good value for money, and was served promptly by a very pleasant waitress.
My main criticism was the bar. The choice of beers was extremely restricted, with nothing at all catering to bitter drinkers, or real ale enthusiasts, such as myself. I bought a bottled pale ale, which was actually more drinkable than I expected (usually pale coloured beers are like drinking a glass of chilled urine and taste utterly foul), though I was disappointed at only getting about 2/3 of a pint in the bottle - usually bottled beers are 500ml and fill a pint glass, when you buy in the supermarket, but then I only look at British made bitters and ales - maybe foreign beers and lagers/pilsners are different. Still, I was disappointed at not being able to get what I consider to be a decent pint of beer in your bar. Also, at breakfast, jam for the toast was only in a large communal squeezy-bottle. I would have expected individual plastic packs. If you like tea to drink with your breakfast, it was a case of dangling a teabag in a cup, which I refused to do, and a staff member then provided a teapot. However, it was still using teabags with string and tags attached, which restricts the brewing process and creates a harsh brew - at the best of times teabags are not as good quality as loose leaf tea. The expectation that some people have that a cup of tea should be made in seconds disturbs and disappoints me- these people unfortunately have probably never experienced a top-quality cup of tea that has been allowed to brew at its own pace for 3-5 minutes without excessive stirring or agitation of the brewing vessel. Some people can absolutely tell the difference.
Staff super friendly and helpful l, quiet clean and good location

Location and large car park
The layout downstairs
The staff were so lovely, the location was great and good car parking. Food was also really nice.
I booked a three bed as was travelling with my daughters but the sofa bed was awful. So uncomfortable I barely slept, the mattress wasn’t even straight.
Good location. Great for parking. Breakfast was excellent.
Lovely staff, made me very welcome.

Leaving !!
Very noisy ! Concrete mattress ! A 3 legged disabled shower chair, dont ask !! A very bright green fire exit light in the room at night !
The staff 10/10 friendly. Went above and beyond.
A bit of road noise in the room, but that was due to the location, so no real fault to the hotel.
