Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Eugene Downtown - University by IHG

Warm breakfast with many options.

Fresh fruit besides bananas

Everything was good.

Shower needs a hand held showerhead

Centrally located. Helpful, friendly Staff.

The staff was friendly. The facilities were clean and easy to navigate. The breakfast area was clean, with natural light and plenty of seating.

The lobby area smelled strongly of chlorine when we arrived and when we left. The breakfast staff was a bit slow getting the food items out and not very friendly when I asked about it.

Very nice room with microwave & fridge and all day coffee in lobby

Need to be quick to put parking plaque in window

Easy to find. Staff was friendly.

This whole hotel is overwhelmed with the smell of chlorine or bromine from their swimming pool. It's immediately noticeable when you enter the lobby. We thought it was temporary from cleaning, but you could smell it all the way up to the 4th floor, and even in our room. It's sickening to those who are sensitive to chemical smells. We stayed 3 nights and it never went away. Probably should call OSHA or some agency because it can't be healthy for people who work there, and certainly not for the guests.

Location was good, friendly staff.

Clean and comfortable

The pool was closed.

Got a free upgrade!

Staff love their job and you can tell! It makes all the difference

Oatmeal ran out

I liked the location and loved the nearby running trail to enjoy a morning run.

We stayed for 3 nights. I would not hesitate to stay again, this will be our “Eugene Place” when we come back. The breakfast was outstanding, the staff friendly, the pool clean. Absolutely zero complaints!!!

Continental breakfast was sub-par. Fitness room was horrible.

cleanliness and comfortable.

Friendliness of staff, cleanliness everywhere in the facility, quality of bed mattresses and room accessories . Ability to keep my car there when flying out of Eugene Airport. Nice continental breakfast.

Nothing I didn't like

Clean, location is great, nice staff

The property was clean and the bed was comfy

Recently visited for mom’s weekend. I am not the type of person to complain but….The walls are very thin. They have quiet hours from 10pm- 6am. In my opinion the morning hours should be extended. There was a family above us with a young child that was constantly running back and forth and jumping off the beds. You could even hear the dad join in on the “fun”. I can handle the loud talking and tv boarding but not the loud thuds that would jolt me out of my sleep and constant running back and forth. I even took a video of it because it was SO loud. Management refused to give them a courtesy call. Finally on Sunday morning I had enough. At 6:05 am I called the front desk again asking them to do a curtesy call and they refused. I went up to the 4th floor and I kid you not you could hear them from the elevator (they were 6 rooms down the hallway). I politely spoke with the mom and she was apologetic. They weren’t that quiet afterwards but she said they were checking out at 7 am, which was my saving grace. For the amount of money I paid, I don’t think I’d stay here again.

Friendly staff, beautiful room

Na

Everything !

No issues at all

location to school.

Staff is poorly trained, for two nights in a row our room was not cleaned. we were outside our room for 8+ hrs and both nights they failed to clean the room.

We a had another good room this time 1 that didn't flood our bthrm floor,we loved the hitting in here,

Breakfast who ever the 2 employees were a little rude I was waiting for more biscuits with the gravy, when they brought them out nobody told me they were ready, all the girl's that had game's went in took all oof them so when I went back into get some they were gone,it would have been nice if the employees would have asked who wanted some before the others took them

Was clean and comfortable

There was a smell of the swimming pool chlorine throughout the hotel, particularly on the lobby level and on our floor either the same chlorine odor or strong smell of cleaning/bleach in the hallway and our room.

It was clean

Our room key had to be changed out a few times 🫩. The drain in the bath tub did not drain well.

The breakfast was great!

The main problem we encountered during our stay was the overwhelming smell of chemicals in the pool area. My grandson and his friend both got sick, throwing up, and had to leave the pool. I think it was very dangerous for anyone to be in that area..

Continental breakfast was better than most hotels.

Walls were paper thin. Could hear neighbors talking.

Beds were super comfy, room was gorgeous.

It was not cleaned well. Random hairs around the bathroom and around the coffee pot area, the tables were sticky, the tub and shower walls looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks, and there was still old food left in the freezer from a previous guest. The gentleman the night we checked in was not very informative. Very vague on telling us where to go.

its was very nice room and clean, i love the walk-in shower and not a nasty bathtub. it was very stay with you guys

breakfast stuff could not keep up with food to serve everyone, and the breakfast was not very good. it also needs for room for guest to sit down and eat.

Location near airport

Because I used bookings they want to put you in the handicap rooms as they are cheaper according to desk clerk. The shower had mold and my family was on 2 different floors until we stated the mold would get her sick and they moved her 5 doors down the hall. Won’t stay or book again

Had a big room the living room was wonderful

The fact while taking a shower the water flooded the bathroom floor, their we're 2 drains but neither drained very well,

Great staff cheerful and helpful as could be possible.

We got an ADA room and the bed was too high to access and the tub wall too high to step over. The room was excessively noisy could hear people walk and cough next door. Water sounds were epic!

The location was perfect, right across from UO campus. It was quieter than we expected and very comfortable. The breakfast was good! Great value. We would definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff. Good location. Quiet atmosphere!

Bathroom waste basket had a small amount of someone else's garbage in it but not a big deal. Otherwise room was in clean condition.

Close to event.

Loud! Can hear all toilets flushing and water running from all nearby rooms at all hours.

Rooms very nice long area and comfy beds

We were across from pool high chlorine smell in room guess they had just cleaned and refurbished chlorine for wknd. Caused coughing when I got home Pool and hot tub looked inviting we didn’t bring suits

Breakfast was very nice and but only thing was gravy was cold ! I think the staff were very accommodating to my needs and the Jacuzzi was very nice I am so grateful that my Items I left behind got sent out ASAP back to me very reasonable from ups .I appreciated 24 hr coffee ( ground beans) the management was on board thank you for the wonderful stay

TV remote a little difficult / frig wasn't cold enough

Great bed and secluded sleeping while living room area can be louder

Need better tv channels how about a porn channel some of us do partake in extra curriculum activities lol

The staff was excellent, the beds were very comfortable, and the facility was clean and inviting.

The electric outlet between the beds was not working, and there was no available extension cord. It's pretty inconvenient but manageable.

The staff was amazing and accommodating when we wanted to upgrade our room to a family suite. Everything was clean and perfect!

Nothing.

The room was clean.

I use a wheelchair. I was in town for cancer surgery. I had requested a handicap accessible room due to bathroom needs. Not given accessible room. Toilet was the old standard height of 14-16". Transfer from chair to seat was beyond difficult. I had requested a shower chair at check in. Clerk acknowledged my request, but no chair ever came. Bed was so high I had to sleep on the couch because I couldn't reach it. Switched to Candlewood Suites, who accommodated me last minute and simply upgraded me to room that suited my needs, at regular price. Holiday Inn, however, offered nothing for my inconvenience. CS definitely has any future business.

Recently stayed here while attending an event at Matthew Knight Arena. It offered a better rate than the hotel(s) right across the street from the arena, but it's still only a couple of blocks away and within easy walking distance, so it was totally worth it. The room was clean and comfortable; it had almost a stark, spartan feel to it, but it still had every possible amenity. I was thrilled that the freezer compartment in the mini fridge was actually functional, and another thing I appreciated was an extra little shelf and power outlet near the big mirror outside the bathroom. I've stayed in too many hotels on girls' trips that don't have enough mirror/plug space for everyone to be getting ready with curling irons, etc. plugged in. The beds were comfortable and I slept well; our neighbors across the hall were a little loud coming and going from their room (I think they'd been attending the same event at MKA so everyone was up kind of late), but once they got settled in, everything quieted down. My only minor complaint about the room was that the shower could have used some fresh caulking; the bottom edges were looking a little rough. The full breakfast had a great variety of offerings too. I didn't make use of the pool or fitness center, though I definitely would have if my stay had been longer. I'm also an IHG rewards member, and I didn't realize that allowed for early check-in, which came as a pleasant surprise; the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating and was able to answer any questions we had. I'll definitely keep this hotel in mind whenever I'm headed to Matthew Knight again!

Comfy beds, clean and well located.

NA

Room was clean and staff was friendly.

It was the perfect location, allowing us to walk to the concert held at the university.

Very nice and helpful stuff. Hotel has a really nice full breakfast.

Everyone was very nice and helpful

Nice, clean, comfortable

Hot tub broken

Excellent location if you are attending an Oregon Ducks football game or if you are touring campus. Walking distance to both. 20 min (fun walk across the bridge) to the game. The staff is EXCELLENT! I had to call prior to my arrival and Ryan (receptionist) was beyond helpful. She even provided me with advice for the area as this was my first time in Eugene. Checking in was a breeze. Super nice front desk attendants. Hotel is clean and rooms are very spacious. I booked a double. We did not hear any noises while in our room. Pleasant stay. FREE BREAKFAST is delicious! Eggs, meats, fresh pancakes, muffins, rolls, cereal and fresh coffee. Juices and milk are also provided. Well stocked the entire time it’s offered. Seating may be the only issue but guests were nice and offered to leave once finished. We noticed the pool area was small but we did not use it. We felt it was a safe area of town. We did not see anyone lurking at night or trying to break into cars. Good places to eat within walking distance as well. We would absolutely stay here again! 5/5 stars

It was nice

It was supposed to cost me 264.00 for 1 night and they charged me 290.00.

Easy to find, comfortable room, really inclusive breakfast…not just carbs but options for healthy eating.

I always like to stay here and I have been staying more than 12 years
