Reviewed Sep 12, 2026Overall the establishment is well located, reasonably priced, and is well kept, with staff being very friendly and welcoming.
Later in the night, a group of unsupervised children was running through the hallway and repeatedly banging on doors. This woke up my 5- and 10-year-old children and left them frightened for the rest of the night. Regrettably, this happened three separate times. Frustrated by the disruption, I went to locate the source of the noise and found a large group of adults—the children's parents—drinking in the reception area. I confronted them directly about their children’s behavior. Fortunately, they addressed the issue immediately, and the noise stopped for the remainder of the night. Although I managed to resolve this issue myself, this should never have happened in the first place and ultimately it has left a sour taste.

The shower could do with some mould remover and a proper scrub (rm 320). Its a shame some other guests thought that smoking in their rooms were in any way acceptable. I did speak to reception about it, and they were brilliant. I hope the smoking guests were met with a huge bill, and hopefully banned from staying again! Waking up to the strong smell of smoke was beyond disgusting. Tramps.

Cold water (not even warm, not to mention hot) in the bathroom after 7am. Poor quality of breakfast served in a tiny area.. Chewy hash browns on two mornings, plasticky scrambled eggs, dry bacon, no cheese or cold cuts, no fresh pastry either. Possibly one of the worst breakfasts I ever had at the Holiday Inn in England and Wales over the last decade. Squeaky sofabed. Extremely small room. Smelly carpets.

The sofa bed was DREADFUL. But most are so wasn’t the be all and end all of the world. The breakfast was mediocre….. sausages were awful, hash browns were made of rubber…… this isn’t the staffs fault. And it is personal opinion. We didn’t have any hot water on the last day and when you are hung over to hell a good shower wake me up. Alas I spent the day slowly wishing I would die……

Very noisey due to car park outside room and also guests above. Mattress was far too hard as were pillows and they didn't have any to swop. Found breakfast a poor choice, especially for children and "family" room very cramped. No shower mat in bathroom made thr shower tray dangerously slippy and the bathroom light was very bright but needed a light left on for my daughter to sleep.

The staff were really helpful with our needs, specially to Don who helped us check in and explained things. Superb room, good size, so clean and tidy. Amazing continental buffet breakfast, kids loves the pancakes... Highly recommendable.

The most positive thing was we felt safe, it was 3 females Grandma daughter and granddaughter, they didn’t say the room Number out loud, then later on when my daughter went downstairs (35) later on she list the key card, she was given another one to get back upstairs, I was a bit worried incase anybody had found it, so went to reception. I was reassured the other keys were obsolete and only new one worked.The staff at breakfast was so lovely and didn’t rush us to leave even though it was nearly 10am. I was so happy with our stay I have come home tonight and booked again. Thank you.
