A special thank you to Rachel Wang, who made my stay even better. I received a room upgrade when I first arrived, which was a really nice surprise. When I later decided to extend my stay, Rachel Wang did everything she could to make sure I could remain in the same upgraded room and was always available if I had any questions. Since it was my first time in Shanghai, I really appreciated how helpful and attentive she was. I originally booked the hotel for two nights, but I liked it so much that I ended up staying four more nights. The staff in general were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful and very clean, and the whole hotel feels very well maintained. I also really liked the gym. It had everything I needed, and because it is open 24/7, I could still do my workouts while spending most of the day exploring the city. Overall, I had a 10/10 stay and felt very well taken care of. I would definitely stay here again!

We received a very warm welcome from Rachel. We were able to check in early and were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade. Rachel was especially kind and helpful when my wife developed a knee injury during our stay. She really took the time to think along with us and help wherever she could. We also had very friendly contact with the manager. Overall, a very warm and welcoming experience. Thank you, Rachel and the team!

Hotelul este foarte frumos, camerele mari si curate, personalul foarte amabil, relativ aproape de metru si gara, magazine in apropiere, micul dejun fabulos. Mulțumim Rachel Wang pentru tot ajutorul dat, din momentul în care am ajuns la hotel ne-am simțit ca acasa.

The hotel was as beautiful as on the photos. I loved it. The bed was super comfy and shower was nice. They refilled water bottles every day. Breakfast was very varied so also nice. A taxi was easy to get.

The walk to the metro is much further than described on Booking.com. If I would know this in advance, I would maybe make another choice. Metro line 1 goes into the city and from the hotel that is 1.7 km walk, I had my Apple Watch measure it as I am Pregnant this was quite a long walk to do every day. But if you don’t mind walking it is fine. Breakfast was quite busy

Colazione ECCEZIONALE, sicuramente sul podio della nostra personale classifica, fatta da centinaia di hotel, non di rado 5 stelle. C'erano a disposizione almeno 5 cuochi, un menù infinito, con scelte della cucina locale e di quella occidentale. Ottima posizione, a 6 minuti a piedi dalla stazione centrale di Shanghai, con accesso diretto a due linee della metro, compresa la 1 e ai treni G per Pechino

Sinceramente nulla che possa influire sul giudizio altissimo dato a questa struttura. Segnalo qualche difficoltà con il WiFi, cercando di connettersi alle classiche app occidentali. Non c'è la piscina, ma era ben evidente anche in fase di prenotazione.

Los ascensores tenían un sistema por el que tardaban bastante en llegar a donde los pidieses, no tenía mucho sentido.

La straordinaria aria disponibilità del personale. C’era stato un piccolo disguido su una prenotazione per un museo, ma si sono subito scusati e ci hanno lasciato dei regali e un biglietto in camera. La colazione è di ampia scelta e ottima qualità. Le camere rinnovate e la nostra premium aveva una bella vista sul mall 1000 Trees e tutta l’area con canali d ponti.

Hotel moderno, tenuto in maniera impeccabile. Camere grandi e pulite. Colazione stratosferica, mai vista una cosa del genere, sembra più un ristorante che una sala colazioni. C'era di tutto e di più con diverse scelte fatte al momento. La metropolitana è a circa 10min che ti porta ovunque. Zona tranquilla e ben servita. Service room rápido e premuroso. Un ringraziamento particolare alla signora delle pulizie della stanza 2118 che ci ha coccolato durante il nostro soggiorno. Consigliatissimo.

10/10 Stay! Amazing Staff, Great Service, and a Magical Birthday Surprise! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot recommend the Holiday Inn in Shanghai’s Jian’an area enough! We had an absolutely fantastic stay and it truly deserves a perfect 10 out of 10. The standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly the staff. From the moment we checked in at reception, everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The service is incredibly efficient; whether it was handling front-desk requests or managing deliveries, everything ran like clockwork. We also loved the little modern touches like seeing the robots deliver food to our rooms was not only efficient but also a cute novelty that brought a smile to our faces! Housekeeping was top-notch; our room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. A special high five to the cleaning lady on floor 15, she did an amazing job keeping our room spotless and comfortable. However, the highlight of our stay was the surprise they organized for my son’s birthday. We hadn’t mentioned it to anyone at the front desk, but they noticed the date and arranged a few slices of cake and sweets delivered to our room. I believe it was Leo who orchestrated this, and we are so grateful for his attention to detail. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay.

I stayed here for a week and the experience genuinely exceeded my expectations. I have stayed at quite a few hotels in Shanghai, including several five-star properties, and the level of service here was honestly among the best I have experienced. Every member of staff I interacted with was warm, professional and incredibly helpful. Whether it was arranging a car, helping with requests or simply greeting guests, the service always felt attentive and effortless. A special thank you to Rachel Wang at the front desk, who was extremely kind and helpful throughout my stay and also arranged a complimentary room upgrade for me. The room was very comfortable, the hotel was well maintained, and the breakfast was excellent — probably one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had in Shanghai. Overall, I felt much more comfortable and looked after here than at many higher-rated luxury hotels.

У отеля хороший трансфер в аэропорт - микроавтобус обошелся в 300 юаней. Хороший разнообразный шведский стол на завтрак, плов классный. Отличная большая игровая зона, релакс для родителей))) В номере все необходимое есть, душ облачком очень понравился) понятные кнопки включения света)) Пуховое одеяло и подушки- потоньше и пополнее, спали как сурки)) Прекрасный вид на город, спортзал и кафе на верхних этажах

A special thank you to Ada Zhang, who helped us with check-in, arranged a room change when the original room was not suitable, and patiently and tactfully answered all our questions throughout our stay. Her kindness and attention made a real difference, and we were very touched to exchange small souvenirs with her before leaving. We would also like to thank the breakfast team, particularly Lemon, who was always incredibly attentive and helped us find tables for our group each morning. The breakfasts themselves were excellent, with a fantastic choice of food, and the care of the staff made them even more enjoyable. This was our first time in Shanghai, and our stay here had made it a very comfortable and memorable one. The location is very convenient, about a 5-10 minute walk to Shanghai Railway Station. Despite its proximity, we did not hear any trains or noise. The whole building, including rooms, is clean and well-kept, and the housekeeping staff do a wonderful job of tidying and maintaining everything. The breakfast buffet had a lot of choices across a range of different cuisines. We didn't have the dinner buffet during our stay, but the set menu available had a nice selection and the dishes we tried were very good. The staff team, from managers to trainees, were attentive and professional during our time there. Luna at reception had given us a very warm welcome and had gotten us checked in quickly. She was incredibly efficient and helpful with the process. Later during our first day, we had asked at reception about the A/C in our room, as it was quite warm. At reception, Alan Liu had helped us and instantly offered to change our room, and we greatly appreciated his initiative. Another staff member, we unfortunately couldn't get the name of, had personally checked around to see which rooms would be suitable for the rest of our stay. After our room change, a different colleague recognized us and asked if we were having a better stay after catching us outside the lift, which we were quite touched by. Eva had also shown great initiative and attentiveness through the mornings, and had literally ran to get IT help when we had some tech problems. Communication between the whole staff team is excellent, and we are so grateful and appreciative of everything they have done. Though we have named a few here, we are so grateful and appreciative of the whole staff team, who have shown great communication, care, and attention during our stay.

Nothing in particular that wasn't able to be sorted very easily. Even with the A/C, we were made aware of the repairs being made that day, and the room change was much better even with the repairs being made elsewhere. Problems were addressed quickly and managed efficiently, and there wasn't anything that was a major issue.

Our stay at this hotel could not have been better. The hospitality and service were exceptional from start to finish. The hotel manager kindly upgraded us to a children’s themed suite because we were celebrating our eldest daughter’s birthday during this trip. It was a thoughtful gesture that made our stay even more special. We stayed on the 14th floor, where 戴小燕 (Dài Xiǎo Yàn) took excellent care of our room every day. Her housekeeping was outstanding. The complimentary kids’ zone is fantastic and offers a great indoor playground where children can have fun while escaping the summer heat. Aria, who looked after the area, was exceptional and incredibly kind to our children. The complimentary self-service washing machines and dryers made our stay especially convenient, allowing us to do our laundry without any extra cost. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options considering the size of the kitchen. It did get a bit crowded during the morning rush, but that’s to be expected during the summer holidays.

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is in an excellent location, just a short walk to both the metro and the railway station. The staff were incredibly nice and went out of their way to make our kids feel welcome and special. The rooms are very clean and well-maintained. A huge, unexpected bonus—especially for families or anyone on a longer trip—is the free self-service washing machines and dryers. We highly recommend this place!

Very nice hotel, nice to several metro stations, very clean and well kept. Excellent breakfast selection, as well as reasonably priced dinner buffet. We were there during typhoon season, had a few airline related problems and staff was very accomodating and supportive - Rachel, Rikki and the rest of the staff helped a lot. The cleaning staff was also accomodating, always cleaning the room even at later hours.

The hotel is in a great spot, super close to a convenience store and the subway. Everyone was really friendly. I gotta give a special thanks to Beck. He was so thoughtful he made sure I got a quiet room and walked me through the subway lines. That really saved me a lot of trouble!

El único que se preocupó fue el chico que ayuda con el equipaje. No es digno de un hotel de esa categoría. Estoy convencido que el personal de un hotel más humilde nos hubieran ofrecido toda la ayuda y soporte que necesitamos.

The property is well located. Staff is very friendly especially Riccie in front office and Hong in breakfast room. Riccie helped us instantly without hesitation. I wrongly booked one more day and she helped us unbook the whole hotel days and make new booking without any penalties. That was so nice of her to help foreigner. Also I forgot to include breakfast. She did it for us without additional charges. Also, the hotel was so clean that I wouldn’t say the same about JW Marriott Beijing Central where I unfortunately stayed in Beijing. And the cleaner of the 6th floor was very and very friendly and kind. Me together with my family are very satisfied with the hotel and the staff. If I were director of the hotel I would definitely raise their pay and add daily bonuses. They deserve it indeed. The welcoming guy opening door of taxi every time was also very pleasant. In general, this is perfect hotel with the perfect staff. I strongly recommend to choose this hotel amongst all.

Tolles Hotel, netter Empfang, sehr hilfsbereites Personal. Frühstück war sehr lecker und es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Zimmer war sehr sauber. Fitnessraum ist ebenfalls sehr gut.

В ресторане неплохое меню , так что спокойно можно спускаться для ужина, там же есть сухие вина. Всегда можно найти на ресепшене персонал, который говорит на английском. У нас было большое путешествие по Китаю, мы жили в разных городах и в разных отелях. Этот отель был самый лучший из всех. В целом мы остались довольны. Твердые 9+ из 10.

Нет бассейна. Хотя есть возможность заехать семьей из 4х человек в один номер, лучше брать два номера.

During my stay at the Holiday Inn, I was in significant pain due to a dental issue and had the “Do Not Disturb” red light on for approximately 1–2 days while resting. One night, I requested an additional quilt, and a staff member delivered it to my room. She specifically asked whether I needed housekeeping because the cleaner had not serviced the room that day. I explained that I did not require cleaning as I had a toothache and needed to rest, which is why the red light was on. The staff member then commented that cleaners “do not earn much if they cannot clean rooms, especially suites,” and advised me not to use the red light because it prevents cleaners from entering. I repeated that I was unwell and needed rest. She responded that it was acceptable for the cleaner to enter just to remove the rubbish and suggested I could simply let them in and clean the rubbish bin to them. This interaction made me uncomfortable and pressured at a time when I was unwell and simply needed privacy and rest. The Do Not Disturb feature exists to protect guests’ comfort, and it should not be questioned or discouraged by staff. Additionally, comments about staff earnings and implying that guests should feel responsible for cleaners’ income are highly unprofessional and inappropriate. I am bringing this matter because I believe it reflects a training and service issue that should be addressed to ensure future guests do not experience similar discomfort.

I got a free room upgrade at check-in and some fresh fruit, which was super nice! I appreciate Beck's assistance in ordering takeout,he was incredibly patient!

Excelente instalação, quartos grandes e limpos. Os funcionários extremamente prestativos e atenderam todas as nossas solicitações. Fiz a reserva pelo booking e constava a informação que café da manhã era incluso, porém, ao chegar no hotel nos informaram que na tarifa que pagamos não tinha café da manhã, porém noa forneceram sem cobranças extras. O funcionários Myers também foi incrível e super gentil, tendo, inclusive, dado uma sacola de snacks para minha filha. Recomendo muito esse hotel.

The front desk staff/concierge were incredibly sweet and helpful. Everything was taken care of and it felt like home. I was so surprised at the level of hospitality. The cleaning lady on the 16th floor was literally the most thorough I've seen in my life and I've travelled many countries. That lady deserves a promotion or raise!

Breakfast was superb except that I'm vegetarian. This is more like constructive criticism but I suggest that the hotel adds a separate vegetarian area to avoid cross contamination.

Het personeel! Geweldige service. We hadden hulp nodig bij onze vlucht en Vincent heeft ons geweldig geholpen, zonder hem hadden we het niet gered. Hotel was prachtig mooi en super netjes. Goede roomservice, heerlijk en uitgebreid ontbijt en de kids kregen allemaal kadootjes.

De wifi was verschrikkelijk, was zo sloom dat je er niets mee kan. Maar dat was in China op veel meer plekken dus weet niet of het hotel er iets aan kon doen. Lokatie is niet heel bijzonder. Weinig gezelligheid in de buurt. Je moet echt de metro pakken voor leuke wijkjes. Met de metro ben je er dan weer zo op leuke plekken.

It was clean and fairly new. The suite was also spacious. Bedding was excellent! Staff were also helpful, accommodating, friendly and courteous!

No space to place shoes except near the toilet / under the vanity sink.

We had Ma ling as our cleaner. She works so hard. Everyday she came and cleaned and taught us a bit of mandarin. She was absolutely amazing. The facilities at the hotel was great! I came home with no clothes washing to do. Definitely recommend.

Using a key card to get to the floor. If you forgot it, you have to go to reception which is a bit of a hassle.
