Mostly it was very nice. Coffee and tea facilities in the room was poor by today’s standards but that is an observation not a complaint.

The location os very good. Close to yhe street market, Archimedes museum, a short walk to the cathedral. The breakfeast is very good. The staff is very kind and attentive.

The pillows are not comfortable. Very thin and not soft.

This hotel was wonderful. The staff was exceptional and helpful in every way. The rooms are charmingly beautiful and clean and the location was exceptional. Close to everything but breathing distance from heavily trafficked tourist areas.

Our room was a little hot. It was difficult to sleep because we couldn’t get the temp low enough, but it is an old and historic building so the trade off was expected.

Beautiful property in a great location. Our room was a good size and comfortable. We easily walked to everything in Ortigia. Staff was helpful and we appreciated the valet option for our car. Breakfast was nice with good variety. We had a small issue with the shower that they couldn’t fix before our brief stay ended so they gave us a credit towards our bill without us asking which was very nice of them.

Location was good - not right in the busy part of Ortigia but just a short walk away. Breakfast was very good and staff very pleasant.

We stayed for two nights at the end of our Sicily trip. It is a 22 minute walk from Syracuse train station - although that was tough in 41 degree heat 🥵. Arriving in Ortigia I thought we’d made a poor choice of location as we saw many abandoned and derelict buildings but the hotel was lovely and just a couple of minutes walk from the heart of Ortigia with its quaint streets and impressive architecture. We had a room on the third floor with French doors to a tiny outside area - not possible to sit in but handy for drying clothes. The room was cosy, although the set up was odd with one side of the bed very close to the French doors. Air conditioning worked well as did the Wi-Fi and the fridge was re-stocked daily with water and soda. The breakfast was particularly good with a wide variety of choices.

Le personnel pas très aimable, ni très empressé à vous aider. On a plutôt l’impression de les déranger. Le ménage notamment de la salle de bains ( s’est amélioré après une réclamation ) L’absence totale de tiroirs : il y a une penderie mais aucun tiroir pour ranger les tee-shirts, sous vêtements etc … : ce n’est pas très pratique. L’insonorisation intérieure de l’hôtel est un peu limite : on entend tout ce qui se passe dans le couloir

Interior style is gorgeous. Common area in second building is top class. Staff were all excellent. Lovely coffee!

The hotel has a wonderful atmosphere that made our stay feel very special. We left with lovely memories and would absolutely be delighted to return. Special Thanks to Sonja who was very attentive while we have been having our Breakfast and Dinner , and the entire team, for making our special occasion even more memorable. Highly recommended! Context: American M/F couple in early 30s visiting Sicily for the first time. Pros: Excellent location! Could see the water from the small balcony. Beautiful rooms and bathroom tiles. Attentive cleaning staff - replaced bath mat morning and evening (since we were taking multiple showers a day due to the heat!). Friendly and attentive front desk staff. Excellent breakfast buffet. Cons: Room sizes vary. We had a teeny room and our neighbors had a huge room. You can’t trust the pictures of the rooms you see online. This is me being picky but it was kind of jarring- the light in the shower is blue. Not a complaint per-se but something to know!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the end of July - it was fantastic - the room was sparkling clean , they provided drinks for free in the mini bar.- and the breakfast was great - great items to choose from in the buffet and also you could request for no additional cost items that were not in the buffet such as a meat and cheese sampler , ( I thought this was a great sustainability practice - sometimes when they put the meat out in the buffet , I always imagine so much waste - so this way less waste and prepared fresh for you , the made to order breakfast also includes eggs , and they provide freshly squeezed orange juice - all the staff are friendly too ! It’s in a quieter location , across from the water front , we were able to easily walk to the main tourist areas and also found some hidden gems for dinner that were off the main strip and were to die for ! all in all a great hotel and if I was to return to Ortigia , I would certainly stay here again , and would recommend to any friends travelling to Sicily ! THanks for a great stay !

Very charming building, the room was beautifully decorated. The suite was spacious. The breakfast was wonderful high quality and good variety.

There was a bad smell in the bathrooms they might have a plumbing issue…. The shower did not have enough pressure.

What an incredible surprise. Honestly, this hotel doesn’t do itself justice online because the reality is even better. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The property is absolutely beautiful—a charming boutique hotel with so much character and warmth. My room was spectacular: elegant, spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail felt thoughtfully done. The breakfast was delicious, with excellent quality and a wonderful atmosphere each morning. But what truly made this stay unforgettable was the people. Every single person I interacted with—from reception to the breakfast staff and everyone in between—was genuinely kind, welcoming, and eager to help. The level of hospitality was outstanding and made me feel at home throughout my stay. If I ever return to Ortigia, I honestly wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else. This will be my hotel. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so memorable. It was one of the highlights of my trip to Italy.

Il n’y a pas de parking dans l’hôtel, Vous pouvez opter pour une place à 30€ par jour mais vous ne pouvez pas disposer de votre voiture comme vous l’entendez. Il faut fixer un créneau horaire, les avertir 1h avant. On a eu de la chance, nous avons attendu 20 minutes, néanmoins je trouve ce système hyper limitant pour les clients. Un coffre fort pas fixé.

What a wonderful stay! The staff went over and above to make sure I was comfortable and I even received an upgrade as there was a bit of noise around the room I originally booked. The breakfast was superb, area is great and overall, would highly recommend!

O Staff é diferenciado. Muito bom time, sabem receber turistas em especial a Sônia, que coordena o staff do restaurante. Excepcional profissional. Tenho restrições a Glúten e ela fez um ótimo atendimento e preservou minha refeição, inclusive oferecendo pasta e canolo sem glúten. O time da recepção tb é muito bom e atencioso. Falam muito bem inglês.

We were a group of 5 couples from America who stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during a 2 week trip through Italy. The property location could not be better for exploring everything in Ortigia. Most importantly, the staff is what really made this property stand out, especially Marco, Denise and Sabrina who were so accommodating!

Wonderfull hotel with good service and beautiful interior and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was great and the location of the hotel is perfectly located in Ortigia.

Excellent location, walking distance to everywhere in Ortigia and water front.  The hotel was beautifully decorated, preserved characters of Sicilian Baroque architecture with modern touches.  Best breakfast, many choices at the buffet, and you can order from the menu for eggs/cheeses/cold cuts, beautiful dinning room. We had a double seaview room, it was very small, but the bed was comfortable and the balcony was lovely.  The advertised free mini bar in the room were water and soda, nothing fancy.  The front desk receptionists were efficient, but not the friendliest and warmest.  If we ever come back here again, I would probably choose the hotel again but will book a bigger room with the seaview.

Fantastic hotel with a great location, all staff members were really helpful especially Adrainna on reception who gave me some great recommendations, we was in the spa suite which was also great!

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. The location is perfect, making it easy to explore the surrounding area on foot. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. We arrived earlier than the standard check-in time, and they kindly allowed us to check in early. The room was spotless, and housekeeping came twice a day, ensuring everything was always clean and comfortable. We also loved the complimentary drinks in the minibar—a thoughtful touch that made our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of fresh, delicious food, especially the freshly baked pastries. Overall, the combination of outstanding service, cleanliness, fantastic location, and thoughtful extras made this an exceptional stay. We would definitely come back!

What a charming hotel! From arrival to departure it was a fabulous experience. The location is brilliant, just a short walk to explore the areas bars, restaurants, shopping, historic sites etc. Our room, while small was lovely with a sneaky sea view & free drinks in the mini bar. The breakfast amazing!! So much choice, so much food! But the thing that has set this hotel apart from others we’ve stayed in is the staff. They were all so friendly & couldn’t do enough for us. I would highly recommend this hotel

Algilà Ortigia Charme Hotel enjoys a peaceful location in Ortigia, just a short walk from the waterfront and the island’s charming lanes and piazzas. The staff was warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was on the smaller side, and while comfortable, it felt a bit dated compared with the boutique experience we had anticipated. The bathroom layout was compact, making the space feel somewhat tight. Overall, the hotel offers a convenient and quiet base for exploring the beauty of Ortigia, with a team that genuinely cares about its guests. Beach towels are available to enjoy the Solarium Ortigia Nettuno, about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel.

We were in Ortigia for 2 nights on our honeymoon and enjoyed a great stay at Algila Charme. While Ortigia is small (and it’d be hard to find a bad location anywhere on the island), this hotel is particularly well located. It is close enough to the water to have ocean views from some rooms but never far from ennotecas, shops, and restaurants. It is nice that it is not in the middle of the nexus of narrow streets - it gives the option to bring a car close for loading/unloading and then parking in the conveniently located public car park (5 minute walk walk), which we chose to do. The hotel also has a valet for those looking to hit the easy button. The concierge, Sabrina, welcomed us with a smile and was very friendly and polite. She was kind enough to upgrade our room at no additional charge since a suite had not been rented for our time there, which was an amazing surprise. The room was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. We were situated in the annex building, which was great - it had its own lobby in a nicely renovated old building. In terms of the atmosphere, it is certainly a tourist hotel, but of course that will be the case at Ortigia. All the staff were accommodating, cheerful, and professional. The included breakfast was very robust; it was complete with made to order egg dishes, espresso drinks, and a replete buffet. The overall value at this hotel was very strong, and I would recommend it to other couples or families. Certainly worthy of a 4-star rating at a very reasonable price.

I travel a lot and this was one of my favorite hotels ever. Quaint, clean, helpful, centrally located.

Loved my one nights stay at this charming beautiful hotel located inside a historic building in a great location on the waterfront with loads of restaurants and bars nearby. My room was very spacious and modern, but in a very quiet location with lots of charm. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent and you could order hot dishes to your table such as scrambled egg or an omelette. I would happily stay here again.

The service was excellent. Breakfast served every morning with a delicious spread. This was a highlight! Our room was nice with all the amenities, but it was small. The bed was comfortable. We visited in June and at times the air conditioning did not seem to cool down enough. There was a ceiling fan that helped. The concierge and front desk were superb! The hotels location is a big plus. Great views and quick walking access to restaurants and shopping. Hotel is great indeed charming and nicely decorated.

We stayed one night at Algila Ortigia Charme Hotel in the middle of our trip moving from the east to the west of Sicily. Like its name says, this hotel is simply charming. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We were worried about where to park our rental car and they took care of everything for us! The complimentary breakfast in the morning was delicious and what a surprise to find almond granita and fill your own cannolo! When we find ourselves in Ortigia/Siracusa again, we will definitely be choosing Algila Ortigia Charme Hotel!

A beautifully renovated hotel right in the centre of the historic island of Ortigia. The service was first rate, though beware that because of the location valet parking is a must.

Great location. Very clean. Rooms are good a d comfortable but at this price point feel they are due for unable upgrade. We had a great room with large verandha and spa pool. Our daughters room was nice but very small. Would have expected a bath option for the spa room at the price point as well as shower. Great breakfast and restaurant.

The food was excellent, the staff was attentive, the room was beautiful, comfortable, and spotless, and the location in the historic center of Ortigia could not have been better. Being surrounded by the charm of the old town made the experience even more special. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sicily. Very nice hotel, spacious room and the folks at the front desk went out of their way to be helpful. It is also in a good location, close to everything in Ortigia, but not too close. It was a lucky find for us considering we made a last minute chang of plans. We could not have picked a better hotel.

The staff at the hotel were the stars of the show here. Every one of them constantly went above and beyond to ensure each guest was comfortable and well cared for. Adriana was an absolute delight at the front desk and constantly checking on us. At breakfast, Enzo and piero’s attentiveness went above and beyond. There was another young lady at breakfast that memorized my order and brought it to me without even asking (curly hair). I was impressed with the impeccable service by everyone here. They even have a complimentary mini bar in your room that is constantly replenished. One recommendation to the hotel- a full length mirror in the room would have been helpful. There is one in the bathroom, but placement makes it difficult to use.

This place is a real beauty ! Right on the sea. Very clean and the staff cannot do enough for you. They go above and beyond ! The breakfast is sooooo good ! The rooms are so cute and clean. What a lovely stay. I cannot stress enough how amazing every staff member was. Thank you !

Booked a Double Seaview room. Disappointed to learn room with 2 balconies in this category, as shown on website, and requested the week before was not available upon check-in. Assigned a room on 2nd floor that was approximately 10x12 (US Standard), or about 11 meters. Needless to say, super tiny room and not very comfortable for 2 nights. There was no where to put luggage or unpack. We kept one suitcase on the luggage rack and the other on a small bench we removed from the bathroom. Our room was on the 2nd floor which is open to the reception area below so you hear noise from 1st floor. Water view is nice but lots of street noise,(ie:motorcycles.) Would not stay here again; poor value for the amount of money we paid. Very disappointed with the room.

This hotel was so charming and just lovely. The staff was remarkable. The check in desk did everything they could to make us feel welcome. The breakfast staff went above and beyond and the housekeeping staff was very professional and kept our room immaculate. Also, the location was phenomenal. I highly recommend this boutique hotel when you visit.

Location! Location! A solid first class hotel with exceptional service. At this time of year it was a quiet hotel. Our particular room and bathroom was very comfortable, I slept great. The second floor of our suite, and second bathroom was not needed. The breakfast was very good, the best of all our hotels while touring Sicily. The front desk staff were truly a delight.

Absolutely stunning hotel, wonderful staff, comfortable rooms, everything you can think of for breakfast too! Great location, a few little bars around the corner, easy walk to plenty of shopping and other area restaurants. We are so glad we spent two nights here and would have loved to stay longer! We stayed in a room with a view of the ocean and a hot tub on our balcony! Perfection!

Booked a superior double for 4 nites. Upon arrival, escorted across the street from the hotel to an additional building and given a room adjacent to loud construction noise/activity from 9 to 5 (see attached pictures) and a view of a porta potty. Impossible to be in the room during this time. Translucent glass in the bathroom allows lighting up the whole room when one goes to the restroom at night, waking anyone else in the room. Breakfast was chaotic and one must flag down the waitstaff to order. Paint was scraped off the passenger rear fender of the rental car under the valet's care. We regretted staying here and saw several better options on the island while exploring.

What a surprise!!! This hotel is just beautiful and our room in the new building was so spacious and comfortable. The free amenities were surprisingly wonderful - we fell in love with the brand of shampoo/conditioner provided. The staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The bar closed early on Sunday and the gentleman at the front desk opened it by getting us drinks and a snack. The areas to relax in are beautifully appointed and we enjoyed spending time in them. Probably the BEST feature is the location. It is perfect to get just about anywhere quickly on the island. I will be recommending this hotel for a stay in Ortigia. And book a tuk tuk tour with Apes tours - we had such fun!!

We were warmly welcomed by the reception upon arrival. That was unexpected, given that we had cycled there and were covered in sweat and mud! The reception folks were friendly and outgoing and gave us a map of Ortigia. They also volunteered to help us with any reservations we might need. Our rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The decor was fine. The shower was large with lots of hot water and plenty of water pressure. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve enjoyed. The service was terrific too. You can’t go wrong booking here.
