Location to food, supermarket and activities
Limited breakfast menu; dated rooms; no internet
The pool and pool deck overlooking the beach is lovely
The only person who didn’t make us feel like we were inconveniencing them was the bartender.
The location
The bathroom sink drain had an odour
Never received any
The beach was very beautiful and easy to walk to other places.
Horrible rooms . Sheets and towels were always filled with stains . Dirty curtains Tv didn’t work half of the time I was there. The bathroom lock broken , dirty walls and floor. Horrible mattress and worn out mattress topper. ( expect to wake up with aches and pains). The overall room was filled with stains and in poor condition. Parking lot can become very crowded.
We booked this hotel because of its pool (we have two young daughters). However during our 8 day stay this pool was too dirty, not available and blocked for 5 days. Every day we reached out to the staff / reception and every time there were excuses and no solutions. Eventually we booked a different hotel with pool. During our check out we made a formal complaint and asked for a compensation. At first the owner / GM denied all making it even more ridiculous. Since we stayed next door I have asked for a conversation with the owner but he wasn't available to discuss. The staff at the reception had the painful job to hear my complaint and were too scared of the owner to react or give a compensation. The hotel itself has potential but the owner is making a mess of it. This results in a dirty pool, bottles and junk around the pool, hustlers in the beach bar and walking in the garden (lock your door) and staff that doesn't make the effort.
This was my 1st time in Jamaica, and I had a wonderful experience. The hotel provided a shuttle from the airport, there and back. The location of the hotel is great because it's right in the middle of the 9 mile beach, I could walk in either direction and find different places to hangout. As a bar person myself, the beach bar at the hotel was perfect. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, I was able to befriend them and make my stay even more special. My room was cleaned everyday. The garden apart of the hotel gave a peaceful vibe to my stay, as well as privacy. I would easily stay here again, everything was great.
This hotel has so much potential. Beautiful garden setting, pool overlooking the beach, pleasant beds. But the reception is an absolute mess and represents the underlying state of service and maintenance. one bed did not have sheets for our daughter, the towels are very old and torn, no complaints about the lovely cleaning lady, she worked so hard and it did not feel filthy. You need to ask for beachtowels, but they dont seem to have enough for all guests. The breakfast lady obviously does not enjoy her job and unfortunately left her smile home each day. They dont feel the urge to clean up around the poolside and terrace, there were always empty bottles and waist all over the place. My husband started gathering the waist himself for our own comfort. We stayed 9 days, of which 6!!!! we could not use the swimming pool due to a lack of cleaningchemicals. Try explaining that to two little girls who could not wait to take a jump in that stunning pool each morning. We adressed it multiple times, and the ladies at the reception tried to reach the manager, but he could not be reached and no-one seemed to really care. At check out, after 5 days of false promisses that the pool issue would be solved the next day, we asked them for a solution. Some kind of compensation would be in place, but they just couldnt care less. What a pity for a place with so much potential, and what a disgrace to take your guests money without keeping to your part of the promise concerning hospitality and facilities.
One star at best. The rooms may have sustained damage during melissa - this wasnt clear but the rooms on the ground floor smell moldy. The matresses need to be desperately cleaned - smelled like sweat . The room service comes at all times - including the evening and the service at front desk is so incredibly uninterested in being in the hotel business. It seems the hotel has not system - the bar is often without bartender and is very limited. It all felt really dirty - We had a second floor room at forst - but asked to change as the bathroom smelled like sewage - but the forst floor was worse. They didnt even have a hair dryer on the ptoperty - would NEVER return
Got back from a week at this resort a few days ago. We usually go to the bigger all-inclusive resorts but this time we wanted to try smaller one where we could enjoy some of the local attractions. The place is small and feels much calmer than the big resorts and it’s right on sevenMile Beach. They gave us the room that was closest to the beach so it was literally steps away, also steps away from the pool and thebar and restaurant. Staff is very friendly and sometimes we were the only ones using the beach chairs so you never have to be out at the of dawn to get one. We will definitely return!! The only tips I would have for the hotel would be: - Have one of the guys working take customers bags to their room. It’s not a huge deal, but after 18 hours of traveling, we were very tired and it would’ve been nice to have someone take our bagsand wheel them to our room for us. - supply a hairdryer in the room or at least have a couple at the front desk for if guests request one - have an all-inclusive option so that guests can upgrade if they want to and have meals included - supply a blanket in every room, they only had sheets on the bed, but it’s nice to have a blanket at night time when you’ve a sunburn and you get chilly in the night - have a little section where you have some games and books to offer the staff even a few board games as guests will usually leave their books for others, so you won’t have to tend to that too much Although I have these suggestions, they are not dealbreaker and I would return in a heartbeat Thank you for the great week, Negril Palms! Will soon return 🖤💛💚🇯🇲
Extremely disappointing experience at Negril Palms. Despite having a confirmed booking, I was refused accommodation upon arrival at 10pm which resulted in significant inconvenience and having to secure alternative lodging at short notice. On arrival, the security advused that my name was not on the list. However he called the the owner, Joseph Smith, and he acknowledged seeing my booking but stated he could not confirm receipt of payment. I advised that I had proof of payment available. In an effort to resolve the matter, I even suggested placing a hold on my credit card so I could simply stay the night and address any payment discrepancy afterward. This was refused. Instead, I was told a cash deposit was required, which I was unable to reasonably arrange at that time. As a result, I was forced to leave the property and travel to another hotel, where I had to pay for a room again, despite having already paid Negril Palms for my original booking. The situation was handled in a very unprofessional manner and left me without accommodation late in the evening. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Negril Palms.
Very cute little spot clean relaxing nice warm pool the beach is beautiful to walk on I would definitely stay there again
The only downfall is that breakfast should be included
This Was a very well maintained property the landscaping was like a jungle.awesone the house cleaning staff was awesome and so sweet. And nice.. I only ate in the restaurant twice in 2 weeks. Can you read into that? the food I had was good. I thought the portions were very small. But the waitresses had an attitude, and I don't need that when I'm on vacation. The beach was a little narrow. But what an awesome spot on beautiful 7 mile beach
The only thing I didn't like was the arrogant waitresses. In the restaurant. You asked for an extra napkin, and they treat it like it's a $100 bill. They have awesome sauces here. And when you ask them for a little more, they give you the cheap c*** in the bottle.
Hotel busy but did not get maid service I had to ask twice for towels
Never have wanted to leave Jamaica until staying at this “resort”. Terrible in every way from check in to check out. Do NOT stay here. It was the biggest waste of 4 days we have ever spent. Please spend your money anywhere else.
I stayed at Negril Palms after booking through Expedia, where it’s rated around 3.5 stars. Unfortunately, my experience did not match that rating at all. Upon arrival, check-in was delayed by nearly three hours, which was extremely frustrating after traveling. There was little communication or urgency from staff during this time. The room itself was very bare and dated. There was no dresser or proper storage for clothing, just a bed and a few old tables. The refrigerator was very loud, and the room overall felt worn and poorly maintained. Towels provided were dirty, which is unacceptable. The space was not well decorated and did not feel clean or comfortable. Dining was also disappointing. On one occasion, food took over an hour and forty-five minutes to arrive after ordering. That kind of wait time is unreasonable, especially when there was no explanation given. What really stood out was the contrast after we later stayed at Country Country, which is rated lower but was a huge upgrade in every way. Country Country is gated, has beach security, bellhops to assist with luggage, and rooms that are clean, well-designed, and properly equipped (coffee maker, kettle, dresser, closet, shelving, luggage rack, etc.). That comparison made the shortcomings at Negril Palms even more apparent. Based on my experience, Negril Palms does not meet the expectations of a 3.5-star resort. With better maintenance, cleanliness, security, and service improvements, it could be much better, but as it stands, I would not stay here again or recommend it. Those that stay here year after year are totally missing out on what other places have to offer.
Second stay at negril palms , love that place . Clean towels every day . The beach is what makes it special . Big up to the manager for letting us store our motorbike at the car park during our trip . Love the security guy what a nice polite man . See you all soon definitely back this year
I have stayed on the property many times.always happy, no problems. Great staff right on the beach.
The scenery itself made it an experience for my Queen, she never been to Negril. The comfort of walking out our rooms to the beach, other beach restaurants was all convenient. I'm thankful all I spoke about the place came to the real LyFe experience. Thank You 😎
This is a very dirty hotel the customer service at the front desk Snap polite my room, smell like sweat the sheet smell, dirty like sweat. The bathroom was dirty very creepy looking room hotel. There was never anything at the restaurant to order. Very very scary looking hotel.
Travelling solo it was a great place to relax and unwind in September, the pool and beach were beautiful. Room was clean and the fridge was an added bonus. The grounds reminded me of a rain forest especially when it was raining I was still able to sit on my patio and enjoy it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back again.
Negril Palms Review Overall, Negril Palms served its purpose and offered great value for the price. The property provided easy parking, and I appreciated that the ackee and saltfish breakfast was both authentic and very affordable. The main drawback was my room location. I stayed on the ground floor near the entrance, which meant I could hear guests coming and going throughout the day. Next time, I would request the same room on a higher floor for more privacy and quiet. Rating: 4/5 – Excellent value and convenience, with room location being the main area for improvement.
First night went great love the location and staff
you get what you paid for
Nothing
The facility was very dirty. Reception was very creepy my room. The AC didn’t work. The sheet smell like sweaty. The bathroom was dirty stain all over the toilet the bed the dresser everything was horrible.
Can you believe they served instant coffee and not brewed. That was also without sharing such with me. Bedroom area though small was ok. Bathroom very small. Staff wasbattentive
I loved Negril Palms. It was so beautiful and peaceful. I felt like I made friends with the staff there…mainly Legion the bartender and Dania, the main waitress who was always friendly and helpful.
The location
Need update
Lizards made disturbing sounds during sleeping hours.
The location was excellent, right on the beach with easy access to the water and great views throughout the day. It was also very convenient being so close to Margaritaville, where there’s always a fun atmosphere, as well as plenty of restaurants, shops, and activities just a short walk away. It really made it easy to enjoy the area without needing to travel far. Breakfast seemed a bit cheap compared to other hotels, although we didn’t purchase it so I can’t comment on the quality
The sheets were torn, and there were so many ants in the bathroom that it wasn’t usable. The reception staff didn’t come across as very welcoming, and with all the furniture stacked at the entrance, the reception felt more like a storage space than a front desk.
Love the grounds
Loved the location and how the property is designed very nice hidden gem . Loved the fact that the beach was so close and the palm tree were absolutely beautiful. Very clean property and well mannered staff
I wish every room had access to kitchen it was disappointing that more money was required for that. Also for the kitchen on the property I think the prices for breakfast were too expensive
-
The beach area with beach chairs and umbrellas and the beach is super nice
The reception area was tacky with things in same that should be hid in a storage area
My first time stay. I liked where the property was located
Bath
Love the location and direct beach access
For the price it wasn’t bad at all… the grounds were well kept…the beach was incredible, amazing, beautiful…. That’s why I booked for 2 more days. I came a little early but they didn’t let us check in..I also booked in Montego Bay for a week but we went to Negril & went nuts over the beach so I stayed there😂😂🏖️🌴❤️🇯🇲🇯🇲
This is my second time staying here. They were accomidating with my room (I requested upstairs) and very friendly. The breakfast is delicious and nice drinks at the bar. I will stay here again.
This hotel, in conjunction with its affordability, is very intelligently built. A lush garden leading to the beach camouflages that this hotel is not a large resort, but in fact a small hotel. And all in all, we had a great stay here - this is as affordable and decent you are going to find a beachside property in Negril. Sometimes it is odd how people can experience a hotel differently. This place clearly has some kind of issue with staff and mold if I look at the reviews below, but I have to say we did not experience any of the kind - possibly dependent on where your room is. Ours was on the left on the below floor, coming from the reception. The shower appeared to be brand new; neither did we run into any other nuisance. If anything, it is the perpetual hustling and loitering going on on the beach. But even here, its small beach bar is kind of secluded from the ongoing disturbance of your Negril beach day on the sand itself. I have argued before that Negril, Jamaica in general (Mobay is worse) should do something significant about the loiterers on the beach. Yes, everyone should benefit from the tourism industry, but you should not bite the hand that feeds you this way.
The receptionist was friendly and very accommodating. The catering and bar staff also the same.
I had the queen size bed, which I found the mattress very uncomfortable, lumpy if truth be told . I was there for 2 nights, and It rained every day for a couple of hours, throughout the day. I still enjoy my time regardless.
The overall condition of the of the entire two day experience was frustrating.
1. My credit statement have reflected multiple charges of the same reservation two days accommodation. 2. Tv communication media and internet services not available for guest. 3. Rooms and external dining infested with mosquitos. 4. Limited parking .
I thought I was at a weed dispensary:day care center, it was horrible. I could not sleep at night the couple with kids was fighting, smoking cigarettes all night and day, the kids was running and jumping the entire time. My question a single person downstairs why would you put a family on top of my head. Nasty Nancy’s .
Okay for the price. Nice helpful staff and best of all it’s on the beach. Breakfast was not great. Rooms quaint but basic. Mini fridge old but functional
The staff very welcome and warm. Dining on site the food was great and convenient. Especially, when you didn’t want to leave the hotel. The beach steps away from the rooms. Price very budget friendly.
The property was dirty and run down. The rooms are poorly clean. There is mosquitoes in the rooms which makes it difficult to sleep. Lights switch don’t work, no lamps in the room. The ceiling fan doesn’t work. I will not stay there again. There is no where to park.
.
I have traveled all over the world in my life and this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. everything about it was a disgrace and I would not recommend that anyone stay at this hotel.
Great
This was my second visit and I was totally disappointed. Staff not available and food options super limited. No cable the whole 8 days. The highlight was Bryan the lifeguard who was very pleasant and accommodating. I attempted for the second time to support a small local owned business, but when your staff is cold and despondent it makes a customer feel unappreciated. I hope they pull it together and fix things quickly. I was there with 3 new guest and they were not happy that I recommended this establishment at all.
Excellent staff. Clean facilities. Prompt and daily maid service. Safe surroundings
Beautiful location very convenient location wise.. staff eehh some better than ithers but def recommend and definitely would stay there again!
It’s very homey to me. It’s on the beach, not touristy and for the price you can’t beat it. Breakfast was good. You’re also close to other attractions; glass bottom boat, corvette jet boat ride, glass bottom boat drone pics, massages, horse back rides etc. Food on the beach. You’re a local
The property could use some minor upgrades. Maybe a do not disturb sign on door, or screens over windows could help would misquotes.
The beach was nice
Pictures on the website is deceiving. It is a nice beach site but everything else is diabolical. They turned the hot water off in your room and there’s no overnight Front Desk service, so if you need help with anything there will be no help until the morning after 8am .They gave me a room with mold on the ceiling all in the closet and in the bathroom, you can literally smell it. I woke up with a cough and dry nose and the bed was hard as a rock. When you leave at night and try to come back the gate to the premises be locked we had to wait over 15 minutes just to get into the parking lot of the hotel, the hotel guard was nowhere to be found. We literally had to blow our horn a million times to get someone to let us in.They did nothing to accommodate my stay, they give you a Wi-Fi password, but you have no access to it unless you in the front by the office. Bartender was lazy. He did not want to give me a beach towel every day I tried to ask for one he told me to ask the front office, the front office told me he supposed to give me one. Do not stay here, mosquitoes are out of control and they get into your room while you’re sleeping. There are loud tree frogs throughout the night and water bugs and lizards they get into your room. Food was disgusting cold. They sent me out burnt French toast and dried cold coconut shrimp. this was the worst part of my vacation staying at this hotel please please don’t waste your time because they do not care about yours. Thank me later.
Close by to all my needs. Transportation readily available right outside the property.
Was very peaceful and relaxing.
Beautiful beaches right there and accessible. Food options in this hotel was ok we ate other places because it was not a restaurant like they display.
The facilities were very nice but the pool was in maintenance. Food was good and drinks as well.
The pool was in maintenance
I loved everything about it.
The location is wonderful and the staff is really nice.
Rooms need iron and ironing board but good regardless
a bit too close to the highway. nighttime busy
Everything
Ants in the room
There were lots of very good, different restaurants nearby. The beach was very beautiful and people were friendly. We even got a room upgrade for free.
There was a lot of noise at night, it led to nights of not so good sleep. Especially the birds chirping really loudly all night long kept us awake, but also honking and loud cars/motorcycles passing by. You could hear every person walk by, the noise cancellation was non-estistent, so it felt like we were constantly being watched/listened to.
Clean comfortable rooms. Nice atmosphere, beautiful landscaping, love the bar and beach area. Great food!
Mosquitoes in the room
I loved staying here .. definitely going back soon
Loved reynolds and the kevante the best! Kevin the cook and all of the bartenders were wonderful!
-Proximity to beach -housekeeping staff was pleasant -beautiful grounds
-Room and Beach Towel service was inconsistent and not available at times -Lobby closed between 9pm -7:30am ish -Food was salty -flying insects in room -fulfillment of housekeeping requests were inconsistent and sometimes addressed -pool closed during my entire stay
Could not tell our room so had to pay cash at bar as we waited for our room. Walk from lobby to sea side bar was the only magical thing about this property. You walked through a well maintained garden canopy of ferns, flowers and fronds. Hat to ask for toilet paper three times, only bar soap provided, much of the lighting was bare bulb wall sconces. Upon stepping in to the room was well detailed at first glance. Walls where thin, could understand conversations in adjacent room. It looks like they are trying to update stuff but we did not see the results of that work. Process good for one night… if you are looking for a bed and beach / pool time this is fine, but beyond that… be aware.
Property needed upgrading, poor internet service, room wasn’t clean, towels where grey and dingy, no cover sheets on bed,and old worn pillows, only had a couple of channels on TV ,and a small fridge that wasn’t working.access directly to the beach was a plus, and it had a nice small pool
Position
Service it took at least an hour to get your food
Overall perfect
Nice vegetation, clean rooms
The location is excellent
little variety of foods
Nothing unique about the property. They were doing renovation so it was a little bit noisy.
Average hotel room with a slip hazard after the rain when entering the premises. Bed, fridge and air condition was fine.
The Palms was very clean & comfortable. The rooms have new TVs with cable. The restaurant has excellent food with very reasonable prices. The pool was nice & very clean and the beach area, with beach chairs, was well kept.
Old
I like the way the staff or friendly they make you feel welcome. The kitchen need improvement guest should not having to waith 30 minutes for a cup of coffee. Also when buying at the bar take a menu because if they will over charge you it happen to me, I get 3 different prices form the same thing with different person. If you see you room don't clean it because only one key so you have to leave with the housekeeper if you wanted your room clean.
There were issues. The pool was closed from the time we arrived (around 4pm) and still closed when we left. That was disappointing. A lot of little bugs in the room - understandable as windows and doors had wooden slats. Had to go to front desk quite a few times for internet problems, no blanket in the room. It was worth what we paid.
When you looking for somewhere to relax Clean environment, beautiful stuff. Amazing owner Look No further.
.
Fantastic place. Simple clean and friendly
Access to the beach
There was no not water in the room The shower head was disgusting and full of scale Very little water coming from the basin The window could be open outside, it had no lock Roach crawling all over the floor
