Room 6202 was simply the best. However we were given this room AFTER complaining upon arrival at being given a ground floor sea view room, which had access for everyone plus zero privacy.
Upon arrival the lady checking us in told us we have been allocated a ground floor room and that it’s great…since this was our 4th visit to the hotel we knew it was easily accessible to the public and far from “great” and we said no immediately, but she was adamant for us to take a look. And we did, and it was no good.

Staff was very helpful and always smiling
Confusion, no rules for accessing to facilities and with that crowd this was super unpleasant
Perfect for family Felt like a very safe hotel
The general area was clean and tidy and well maintained. Staff were nice
The room we had was one of the apartments, the furniture was old and grubby, and felt very disconnected from the main hotel.
Food was good, variety, well presented
sunbeds were always reserved, GF bread was available on request but took forever to arrive, GF in general was poor, had to pay for an upgrade as according to the booking we were not Prestige (as booked)
The hotel was pretty well located for us. Close the beach, water park and some really nice restaurants. Breakfast was fantastic, there was a great selection.
The double bed was two fold up beds pushed together. The tap in the bathroom came away from the sink because the bolt had rusted through.
Beautiful location
It’s a shame that if you stay in Star Prestige that you still get charged for use of the Balinese beds

Half-term prices
The staff were very helpful and polite. The choice and quality of food was outstanding
The parasols were unstable and some did blow around nearly hitting some residents
Food, they clearly have a lot of families and there are tools and food for children Location, quite area, next to the beach, a bit of a walk to the main town but nice walk Swimming pools
Room cleaning schedule, our room was not cleaned one day, the mini bar lady came twice during our son nap time, so it could be improved Somehow they allowed guests with glass drinks in the children swimming pool, that is a massive hazard risk. If one of them breaks it will be very difficult to collect all the pieces and make the facility safe The corridors and the rooms need some renovations, especially the bathroom, no small light ( it will be good not to have to turn on the big light especially if a child is sleeping on the sofa bed next to it), the shampoo etc are generally far from sink and shower
Friendly staff. Good location. Close to safe beach. Excellent breakfast. Warmish pool. Lovely room. There was a kettle, coffee machine, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion
The water in the shower was not consistant. It did get way too hot. Dangerously so
A localização e a comida
Demasiadas crianças e espaços sobrelotados
Great service and overall experience
Nothing
Great for families with young kids
Rooms small for a family of 4 with older kids
Mooi hotel Goede ligging. Vlakbij wandelboulevard.
Stayed there before the whole experience is amazing
They need to add cider to all inculsive 🤣
second time at this hotel, greeted by severine on arrival who remembered us from last year which was nice. we stayed in prestige so no children, but went between the areas depending what was on. it was nice to chat with al fonzo and diago who seem to enjoy there work and make an effort to speak to all the guests. leo on the bar was so attentive he would be making my g and t as i approached the bar for early doors whilst awaiting the arrival of my wife. another name to mention on the bar is juan who we decided and convinced my wife's art teacher that he is a relative of the famous spanish artist sorolla !! he was such good fun. the hotel caters for couples, singles and family's. is a short stroll to the beach and shops, short taxi ride to the modern marina and designer shops. the food was excellent, more choice in main restaurant. but you can take the food into prestige dinning area. the all inclusive drinks package is excellent with top brand names like tanquary no 10. the rooms in privilege where also fantastic massive walk in shower good stocked mini bar filled daily. all the rooms look out to sea. best on the top floor for views. another great holiday at this hotel and will be coming back. kind regards to all the staff including all the nice polite cleaning staff who without this hotel could not operate. see you all again soon steve and ursula
Lovely hotel, out of this world food, gorgeous setting. We were put in a family room great space with a separate bedroom but to be fair we thought it needed a lick of paint. Weather wasn't as good as we would normally have, but it didn't spoil our holiday. The staff , were excellent, waiting staff, chefs, cleaners everyone were great. Didn't upgrade to star prestige but as we were half board we upgraded to drinks package with evening meal 10 Euros each you only need a bottle of water and a couple of wines or beers each and you've got your money's worth. .I would stay here again but I would ideally want the double seaview room we'd initially booked but it wasn't a problem as we did have more room. Hopefully the weather will be better next time.....
El Star pass
We visited in February which is winter season here. Temperatures average around 18°C and some days can be windy so it can feel a bit chilly although probably still warmer than many places in Europe at that time of the year. The hotel is located about 30-35 minutes from the airport by taxi. From the moment we arrived the front desk team made us feel very welcome. Check‑in was smooth and quick and we were lucky that our room was already ready so we could settle in and start enjoying the hotel right away. Room Our room was cleaned daily and the housekeeping team did an excellent job keeping everything spotless and tidy. The minibar is restocked every day with a couple of San Miguel beers, a small prosecco, iced tea, and 3–4 soft drinks. Each room also has a glass bottle you can refill at the water fountain next to the elevator. We had an ocean‑view room with a balcony on sunny days the view is stunning and you can even see Fuerteventura on the horizon. Restaurant The main restaurant is located on the ground floor and offers a buffet with a wide variety of options for all types of diets. Every day the chefs prepare steak, chicken, pork, fish, and shrimp on the spot and everything tastes fresh and delicious. At lunch drinks are self‑serve; at dinner the wait staff brings the drinks to your table. Tip: Go right when they open to avoid the queues during busy times. There is also a small outdoor restaurant that opens at lunchtime the food there has an extra charge drinks are included if you have the all inclusive. Sports Bar The sports bar opens from around 10am to 1am. The drinks are great quality and the staff is incredibly attentive honestly they could win a Guinness record for the fastest service. I never saw anyone wait more than 10 seconds before their drink was being prepared. There are several TV screens showing major sports events. Next to the bar is the theater where the evening shows take place at 9pm. Before the show there’s a mini‑disco, trivia and bingo. Make sure to bring a smart device as everything is done online. Pools The pools are very well maintained. This year the infinity pool was warmer compared to last year which was great since the weather was a bit chilly. It was busier this time so pool towels ran out occasionally if you see it’s crowded make sure you take care of your towel. There’s another pool area with water slides; the pool is heated and kids absolutely love it. Next to it there’s a food truck offering soft drinks, San Miguel, coffee, ice cream and small snacks like cookies and fruits and I believe they also serve sandwiches. There is also a pool exclusively for Prestige guests with a bar, terrace and sunbeds. Some days they have live music. It’s adults‑only so the atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. Entertainment The entertainment team runs activities for all guests around the pool area. There’s also a sports zone with beach volleyball, soccer and tennis courts plus ping‑pong and boccia. To borrow equipment just speak to the entertainment staff. The evening shows are enjoyable the magic show in particular was very entertaining. The kids’ club opens from 10:30–12:45 and 15:00–16:45 (if I remember correctly). Spa The spa offers a variety of wellness services including pedicures, manicures and several types of massages such as anti‑stress, deep tissue, and foot‑relax treatments and more. There is also an indoor pool available for an additional fee if I remember correctly it was around €20 for two hours for a family of five although I’m not 100% sure about the fee. Next to the spa you’ll find the gym equipped with both cardio and weight machines. It’s not huge but it has everything you need to keep up with your workouts while on holiday. Overall The hotel is kept very clean and tidy. The gardens always look beautiful the maintenance team does a fantastic job. I won’t mention individual names because I don’t want to leave anyone out but a huge thank you to the entire Iberostar Lanzarote team for their outstanding service. I highly recommend this hotel for your next holiday. Tip: Check the weather before you travel. I heard some people complaining that it was chilly in February (18°C) but of course the hotel can’t control the weather!
Lovely hotel great location friendly staff
Posizione cibo variato ottimo, piscina SPA
Not usually our type of hotel but we were going away with friends and they wanted an all inclusive. This was a lovely hotel. The rooms were well appointed with a comfortable bed, hairdryer, large wardrobes, sofa with a well stocked mini bar. There was a Lovely patio leading out onto a grass area and pool and if we took a left heading out of the hotel there was a lovely walk into marina rubicon (roughly 35/40 minutes walk ) however playa dorado (I think this is what it was called) was about a 10/15 minute walk where there are restaurants, bars and shops. Staff are very friendly and very helpful and there is a bus service just outside the hotel. The All inclusive offered a good choice of food and drink however there were only 2 main buffet areas which could be very busy. There was Entertainment at night but this was more for families and we probably wouldn’t have gone anyway. There are numerous bar areas outside although when the weather isn’t great this is limited. Overall tho we had a great stay and would definitely go back and I think if you had children this would be a brilliant resort.
Tutto.
Just returned from this great hotel, we arrived on the 18th march and the weather was horrendous! We’ve never been to Lanzarote before and was wondering if we’d made a mistake, no we didn’t within 24 hours the weather picked up and this hotel was absolutely brilliant, staff were spot on, food absolutely superb, and the short walk into town was really nice, we were in room 1106 which had a sea view and a large balcony with sun beds, we’ll be back sometime this year!
Excellent hotel and very friendly, the friendliest staff I’ve seen at any hotel - thank you to Paco in the restaurant, very hardworking and happy, Leo, Charli at the bar - always a big smile and happy to talk - even pouring the beers before I ask and Salma in entertainment, very enthusiastic !! Right on the seafront with a 1.5 mile walk to the marina rubicon, a walk on the front very nice, no hassles and easy. Hotel had a sports bar - great if you like football and evening entertainment No queues - not too busy, but nice Excellent place to come - I will visit again. Playa Blanca is a good resort with plenty of variety of bars and restaurants. Food is great at the hotel - breakfast till 10.30 - lunch 1pm till 3pm and dinner 6.30 - 9.30 - very flexible and don’t chuck you out like in other hotels. Nothing is too much - a credit to Iberostar !!!
We stayed at the Iberostar Lanzarote Park as a family with an 18 month old in March 2026. First impressions of the hotel upon arriving at reception were fantastic - offered drinks while we sat down as the checking in was completed, while the children played in the kids corner. We were give an upgrade to a sea-view suite which was amazing. Facilities were first class, never had any problems getting loungers by either the main pool or kids' pools. Star camp with activities and soft play was a god-send when we needed to let our daughter run about and burn off some energy. Both the variety and quality of the food on offer far surpassed our expectations - by a distance the best food we've had at an All-Inclusive. Each night there was a selection of freshly-cooked choices for both meat and fish, and the choices for our child were great. Staff in the bar were so quick to offer drinks during the day and evening. The main resrt of Playa Blanca was an easy walk away, and we went most days with the baby in the pram. Overall, the stay we had here was mjch better than we'd anticipated, and we'll definitely be returning for another family holiday.
Excellent hotel, food and service great. We booked Star Prestige and really enjoyed the additional benefits, especially the pool area and the service at Star Prestige pool bar. Another great visit to an Iberostar hotel!
I usually really enjoy writing positive reviews of restaurants and hotels but I'm struggling with this. But let's start with the good things. The food is amazing: not just the wide selection but the excellent quality of the cooking. The buildings are beautiful. Designed by the brilliant architect Manrique, it's not as huge and imposing as the photos suggest since each small semi-circle is almost its own little entity with its own pool etc. We stayed in the semi circle round the toddler and kids' pools and it was perfect to wander straight out from our family rooms, which they had put next to each other as we asked. I stayed with my daughter and eighteen month granddaughter and she really enjoyed watching the older kids and building up her courage to enter the water! The rooms are spacious and pleasantly decorated. Now for what lets this hotel down as, apart from the food and the architecture, it is certainly not five star and I have travelled extensively all over the world, First the service . There are some exceptions : big thanks to Carlos, Helena, Sol and Munoz in the restaurant. But mostly the staff at the bar, reception etc can best be described as surly, although they lighten up a bit if you speak to them in Spanish. But that really shouldn't be necessary. The staff member who 'welcomed' us was curt and presented me with the bill almost as soon as I had sat down, although admittedly I had gone to the toilet first, after a long journey. No showing us a map of the hotel etc; just told us to look at our towel cards for restaurant opening times (where be warned if you have kids lunch is only from 1.00 to 3.00). I appreciate they are flooded with tourists but even 4 star hotels do the welcome better than that. OK there is a welcome glass of cava but there is nothing to beat the personal touch. It took the restaurant staff I mentioned to explain to us where Playa Flamingo is (lovely cove suitable for kids) just 5 minutes away. And we wasted a precious afternoon trying to find the Playa Blanca beach: a good 20 minutes walk away. Would a few signs next to the gate onto the promenade be helpful, if you can't manage a proper tailor made explanation during the welcome given my little granddaughter was playing around us? Second problem: I had to phone to check how often rooms were cleaned as ours hadn't been. No real apology. Teabags weren't always replaced. Sorry.. but I really need my cuppa to get me going! The air con was inadequate. I don't know how people manage in summer? A final note: normally even 4 star hotels provide slippers and often a pack for toddlers. This feels like 'green washing' and they could argue that we wastefully throw slippers away. How convenient I would be really interested to know if all Iberostar hotels are like this, or we struck unlucky?
We stayed with 2 young kids in a family room, in the family section by the slides. The facilities were amazing at this hotel. Pool slides, kids club and the little park were all fantastic and gave us plenty of options to entertain our kids when the weather was not great. The location was amazing right by the beach, although walking as far as the marina was quite a distance. Still manageable but it was much closer to playa blanca town itself with lots of lovely restaurants. We stayed B&B and could not fault breakfast at all, it was great and lots of options. All the staff, from reception to housekeeping to waiting staff were all so kind and friendly. My only negative was the rooms. They were fine but a little disappointing for a 5* and definitely in need of an upgrade compared to the rest of the hotel. Some pieces of furniture were broken (leg on the coffee table hanging off), bathroom door was badly damaged, walls a bit shabby and we had 2 single beds pushed together instead of a double which was annoying. The air con was not able to be adjusted even though reception said it could be. In the end they gave us an electric heater which was perfect. They also provided a plug in after we were troubled by a few mosquitoes on night one. These things did not ruin our stay in the slightest but it was not on par with the rest of our hotel experience and I don’t think it would take much to improve them. We would definitely stay again.
We had a fabulous holiday but our room was rather tired . Bathroom door water damaged. Main door to our room 2217 was damaged . Desk was scruffy and blistered . It’s a shame because everything else was tip top We been coming for 5 years but disappointed with our room
We have stayed previously a couple of times. All stays have been in Star Prestige which for us is the only area we would book. The hotel is lovely. Star Prestige is excellent; the pool area is great and always lots of free sunbeds and shade. Towels are freely available. Food is excellent. But I do wish the Star prestige dining room had its own food lunchtime; no big deal as you have a massive selection in the main dining area. Evening meals were stand out! All staff we met were outstanding; very professional, friendly and helpful. Couldn't want for more. Rooms are spacious and clean with huge sea facing balconies. Very well equipped and well cleaned daily. The Star Prestige bar is superb and from 11.15am each day cocktails are brought round for you poolside. Top drawer drinks all day long and lots of choice. Wines are great. There is entertainment daily and Esther is amazing with so many activities throughout the day and then there is live music each night which was a bit samey with soul singers almost every night but for a change of scene we went to the sports bar and thought the entertainment was better. You cant beat this hotel for a fly and flop break. We would recommend and will return.
We booked star prestige for one week. On arrival we were greeted very well and shown to the star prestige bar for welcome drinks and to book in. Our room was excellent with a beautiful view. We found the food to be generally of a very good standard eating in the star prestige restaurant was very nice and quiet but at times it did get very busy and on the fresh food station there was only on person taking the orders and cooking the food so sometimes it was quicker in the main buffet and far more choice. The breakfast buffet was excellent but again more choice in the main restaurant. All of the staff were excellent all over the hotel and could not do enough for you. The weather was very poor the week we were there it was cold with a constant north wind blowing and very little sun. We found the SP entertainment in the evenings was outside which we did not attend as it was generally not warm enough and there were no contingency plans for bad weather which is something that should be addressed. This being the case the sports bar was extremely busy for their evening entertainment. We had an enjoyable week but it was a shame about the weather which we know is out of the hotels control.
Absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were amazing and always welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent and restaurant staff were always attentive. Alex in the sports bar is fantastic as are the waiters in all the bars. Will definitely be going there again. The only disappointment for us was the weather but the hotel couldn’t do anything about that and the fact that we still had a great time speaks volumes. See you again soon.
Staff and location.
Low ceiling in entertainment room made it very noisy.
As a hotel advertised as 5 star the room I was in was not more than 3 star, with grubby furniture and noisy dark rooms . While air conditioning controls look like you are setting a temperature, it remains controlled by hotel. The one saving grace is that the food was excellent and dinning staff very helpful. The management had tried to encourage me to upgrade ( extra €80/€100 per night!!) , which i assume would have resulted in a better room. You are either 5* or not!!!!! And this hotel was NOT
We’ve just returned from a third visit in Star Prestige; and we did have a good time; but I do think some of the service standards by housekeeping have slipped this year. Positives- plenty of sunbeds, friendly staff, bar service great, food great. Great that door looking from the ground floor rooms onto the patios have now been added. The lifeguard/ towel guys were really good, they had a challenge on their hands with 45mph winds, with moving Bali beds, lounges moving etc! Esther being her usual cheery self! Negatives- housekeeping standards as I say have slipped slightly. Turndown service only happened about a 1/3 of the nights, the empty bottle tops were frequently left, the mini bar not filled promptly and unfortunately I had an issue with mosquitos in my room which took a couple of sprays and the addition of 3 room plugs to try and solve. Reception did always send someone but I killed about 25 on the first morning I woke up. Unfortunately the weather was awful when we were there for the week ; which highlighted the lack of undercover spaces for star prestige guests that can be used (we were all inclusive so happily could use the sports bar that we loved; but this isn’t the same for all) I do think this is something that really needs to be looked at.
We’re regular Iberostar customers and have been to this hotel before with our family and returned for a week’s holiday last month. The hotel was just as good as it normally is but we were left feeling a bit disappointed by the attitude of Reception staff when I reported that our 3 year old grandson’s toy disappeared from his room after the cleaning staff visit. My grandson noticed immediately when we returned to the room that his toy was missing. I told a member of staff who didn’t seem to be interested but said she would try to find it. I then had to go back the next day to enquire and spoke to another staff member who said it was probably with the laundry. On the third day I was told it wasn’t found with a shrug of the shoulders and ‘sorry’. I was left feeling that nobody cared about the missing property which must have been lost/thrown out by a staff member as it never left the room. We even had a photo of the toy on the bed. We were contacted by someone at the hotel on our return home. They said they had found the toy. Unfortunately the picture they sent was of another child’s toy bearing no resemblance to our lost toy. Just feel the situation should have been dealt with in a more sympathetic manner- even offer of compensation for something their staff had lost. Spoiled the end of our holiday.
We stayed one week in this hotel. As we are accustomed to international renowned brands, we were a little bit disappointed. The price is a little bit expensive for what you finally get. This is not the best value for money and compared to other chains of hotels. First, we do not understand why we have to pay an extra-price to get access to the SPA: this is the first time that we experience that. This is not only a question of money but before all, a question of convenience this arrangement make the access to the SPA more complicated in not smooth way. Second, the rules are quite stringent and the staff seem not well trained to deal with unexpected issues. Third, the room and bathroom are ok but below international standards. Four, there is not dedicated areas for people who must work a little during the stay. This hotel and more generally, this island seems to match much better to retirees than people with young children. However, we appreciated the kindness of the staff and the various amenities.
We have just returned from 11 days of relaxation and great weather in the Iberostar again, being looked after by caring friendly staff. The hotel is one of our favourite places and always makes you feel welcome. Location is excellent - a short walk into Playa Blanca where you can find shops, bars and restaurants. Entertainment and activities are available most days with keep fit for the most active. Our room was in the main building - spacious and overlooking the pool / sea. Drinks are good quality with excellent wines available for meals. If anything could be improved plates are always stone cold and don’t do justice to the food and some meals are not enjoyable when cold. To sum up, we certainly enjoyed our time there and recommend the hotel for a good holiday. Special thanks to all staff again.
Stayed in star presteige room, excellent facilities in room. Would highly recomend this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The star presteige restaurant was a bit of a let down with only one cooking station however we found going into main restaurant to get food was good quality and more choice. This is the only thing I would fault.
We enjoyed our first holiday abroad here with kids (7 and 5) though my wife and I had been to the hotel about 14 years ago. The hotel and staff were faultless from the moment we arrived; a warm welcome with complementary drinks, spotlessly clean room, huge range of food in the restaurant, very friendly staff. We opted to upgrade to All Inclusive and were glad we did. I genuinely miss the hotel and location and really hope to return again soon.
Great staff and very professional service. Pleasant common areas. Good location. Excellent breakfast.
It was a “sea view” room but that was valid for the living room only. The bedroom faces the common corridor which made it bit noisier and claustrophobic and you can not enjoy the main advantage of the location of the hotel - the see view at waking up. Great and huge terrace but lack of comfortable furniture- no deck chairs, only a plastic table with 2 simple chairs. Sort of waste of space. The mosquitos - I have no idea how, but we attracted at least 40 of them in the room and spent part of the evening chasing them. We should have been warned. We spent few nights at different hotels at Lanzarote and Fuerteventura without any similar problems. Plus some minor details that ruin the overall expression: the room door does not open smoothly, the bathroom door that could not be closed, a shabby stand in the shower area.
Everything The staff were excellant Choice of food Very clean every where Gardens and pool areas very well kept
Nothing to like
Le restaurant est exceptionnel
Food was excellent, both for breakfast and for dinner. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The room was well serviced on a daily basis. The pool area was excellent. We had three children with us, 8,6 and 4. They loved the pool with slides. The location of the hotel beside the Flamingo Beach was wonderful. Evening entertainment was good and catered well for children.
Queueing at evening time for food... especially where the meat and fish were being prepared. This area should be expanded and include extra stations. Felt compelled to put out our towels in the morning to secure our sunbeds because everyone else was doing that.
Some positives and good ones. Some frustrating negatives (biggest ones are having to chase reception for mini bar and coffee refill at 215 in afternoon, can't chill out at 3 otherwise housekeeping fillers come in)
Overall enjoyed this hotel but a few things did let it down and currently unsure if I would return Positives; very clean hotel, always see staff cleaning and they pump a pleasant smell through the lobby and communal toilets. children’s play area is cleaned regularly. well maintained, we constantly saw areas being touched up. Food was tasty, particularly enjoyed the Asian evening. Chima who was often on the pasta station was really friendly and smiley. Osmara was a very happy friendly face in the morning. Our 1 and 4 year old really enjoyed the children’s pool and slides, children up to about 9/10 appeared to enjoy this pool but would be too small for teens. Ice cream from the food truck at pool was delicious A short stroll to playa blanca which was lovely. Nice selection of niche shops and some nice looking restaurants. The staff on reception were generally friendly and helpful, domestic staff always smiley and accommodating Negatives; our trip was half before school holidays and half during. Dinner service during the school holidays was horrendous. Huge queues for the restaurant opening time (6:30). We arrived one evening at 7:15 and waited about 15 minutes to be seated, not ideal but not a huge issue in itself- HOWEVER I was very disappointed that there seems to be absolutely no system or organisation for those waiting for seats. Maria asked our party size and room number and we waited in the queue ‘system’ that guests were trying to keep to. Another party of 4 arrived after us, but waited closer to the restaurant desk. A staff member came to tell Maria a table for 4 was available, this other family said they would take it. I questioned this to Maria and she rudely said ‘I didn’t see you’ even though we’d stood in the queue clearly visible. No apology. It wouldn’t be hard for them to record party size and room number and call out in a fair order, and the attitude is what frustrated me the most. Similarly, Gisela was often abrupt at breakfast service. An older man at a table next to me was trying to order coffee, she was very short and spoke to him very fast and in Spanish. I appreciate we are in Spain but she made no effort to even give this man any time to communicate. She then rolled her eyes out of his eyesight but I saw this and thought it was terrible. He never got his coffee. The drink ordering was very hit and miss and breakfast and dinner. I would say maybe half the time an order was taken, half the time nobody bothered to take our order. And even when the order was taken, a few times no drinks arrived. Bar staff at pool also variable in their attitude. We found the room very hot during the night and struggled to sleep. The hotel do not operate air conditioning in the winter months. They did provide a fan but it was very loud with a bright blue light so again made it difficult to sleep. Not a lot to do outside the hotel with little ones. Many of the excursions are for adults/teens. Not an issue for us this trip as we just wanted to chill. I personally prefer an option of a laundrette on site when travelling with little ones as the dry cleaning was very expensive considering how many clothes little ones get through. Overall, hotel facilities good and clean. Nice food. It’s a shame the behaviour of a few staff let it down and currently still unsure if we would return as customer service is something I highly value and appreciate
we stayed here for 8 nights as part of a 3 month holiday....we upgraded to an apartment rather than face the children's pool area.... the apartment was very nice, but had a kitchenette with absolutely no dishes, silverware or pots and pans😨....not that we would be self catering... there was also a microwave ,kettle and keurig coffee machine....we were practically on the promenade with great ocean background noises....we only did breakfast which was wondergul..2 pools for those not part of upper echelon club...very clean and well manicured grounds...the rental of the safe was ridiculous!! for that price, you should get a free safe....there was a gate to the promenade by our room that was locked???? you could walk right in through the parking lot...also you could only enter certain locked gates from the promenade depending again on your hotel status.... I would stay there again....
Positives of the hotel are great staff; wide selection of lovely food in the restaurant. Major negative for us is that all the swimming pools are EXTREMELY cold (even the children’s pools), which is disappointing as we booked the hotel as it advertised as having heated pools!!! Children who brave the cold water come out shivering; whilst most of the adults just don’t go in the pools because it’s far too cold. Rooms are fine-not 5 star in my opinion as they are pretty basic, but they’re fine. Although think the walls need a wipe as could see the splatters of squashed mosquitos from previous occupants.
The hotel is geared towards families with young children, older families and couples are not catered for. The evening entertainment finishes early and guests are encouraged to leave at 10pm. The buffet restaurant does not cater well for vegetarians, we mentioned to the concierge we were vegetarian in the hope a designated meal would be be added to the buffet but we were left with the pizza and pasta station for lunch and dinner each day. There was one heated pool, so it was overcrowded and seemed imbalanced for such a large hotel. We were housed in an annexe to the hotel so didn’t feel part of the hotel we had paid for, the furniture was very worn, the couches are noisy and uncomfortable- the couch bed is not a fold down bed it is simply the couch, not the standard of a 5 star hotel. The air conditioning was switched off, so the room was very warm and despite being offered fans these never arrived. There is no pool service or drinks or snacks, just the snack van which has no vegetarian food, and you have to go to the hotel bar for drinks. The bar staff are not very friendly, with the exception of Alex who was very welcoming and good fun. The location is good, and the views are lovely but all things considered I would not recommend this hotel nor would I return to it.
Stayed in star prestige rooms. Lively modern room with super comfy bed. Beautiful views. Food was great with lots of variety, loved you could easily get food from both restaurants, but still sit in the star prestige which was relaxed and had great wines. Perfect location. Just a short stroll onto town. Lively heated pools.
Iberostar Playa Blanca ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The welcome on arrival was good and the staff throughout the hotel are genuinely friendly and helpful. However, reception was quite persistent with upgrade offers, which slightly took the shine off the initial experience. The rooms are clean and well maintained, but they are not luxurious and don’t really live up to 5-star expectations. The pool areas are very attractive and well kept, and breakfast was good with a decent range of options. Unfortunately, there were two major issues that significantly affected our stay. Firstly, we were allocated a room next to the children’s pool. We are both 63 years old and were looking for a quieter environment, but the noise from this area was constant and disruptive. This felt like a poor room allocation given the size of the hotel. Secondly, and more importantly, the room temperature was unacceptable. Our room never dropped below 24°C overnight, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. When we spoke to reception, we were told that as it is “winter” the air conditioning is switched off across the hotel. The solution offered was an electric fan. For a hotel marketed as 5-star, this is simply not good enough. Being unable to control room temperature and being expected to rely on a fan does not meet expectations at this level. While there are positives to this hotel, the combination of noise and lack of effective climate control means we will not be returning.
It was our first visit to this hotel, we’ve stayed in Playa Blanca many times and stayed in another Iberostar previously. Location - good location and don’t be disappointed when you arrive the street view is deceptive. Once inside you won’t be disappointed. It’s a short walk into Playa Blanca and a nice walk to the lighthouse in the other direction. The hotel goes straight onto the walkway. Hotel team - we felt that every member of staff was friendly, welcoming and really helpful. Thank you to them especially one or two of the bar staff in particular who made our week so special. Room - as two adults no children we were in an end room by the children’s pool far side of the hotel. However very little noise despite a lot of children next door. The rooms are getting tired but repairs/redecoration are tricky when open all year. We did have a mosquito issue (first time ever in Lanzarote). The hotel were quick to spray and provide plug ins. Pools - the children’s pool wasn’t used much. The bottom pool was very warm and the first pool after reception is Baltic! One of the coldest pools I’ve known. There were ALWAYS plenty of sunbeds and because of this there wasn’t an early dash for them. Made it all more relaxing. Food - we were all inclusive. Plenty of options always. Breakfast is incredible. Lunch and dinner always plenty of choice. However we often found the hot food wasn’t hot unless straight off the freshly cooked stations. We liked the fact that Star prestige was so separate so it didn’t impact in any way on non SP guests. All in all it was a great stay I’m not sure I would go all inclusive here again as we often ate out.
Stayed at Iberostar Selection Lanzarote in the Star Prestige area for 11 nights in February. My overall opinion of this hotel is that it well deserves its 5 Star rating. From arrival to departure the staff would do all they could to help you have a happy holiday. They always had a happy smiling face. The pool bar is a very happy place, where we had most of our lunches. Jan and his happy band serve you well, bring drinks to you, plenty of crisps, and they remember your drinks. The snacks served there suited us as we did not want a full cooked lunch, we had to save room for the lovely evening meal buffet. The cakes were delicious, but we tried not to have too many. Loved the lemon meringue cake. Esther, who was there nearly everyday, was brilliant. She did yoga, aqua aerobics. Her gin masterclass and the Sangria were every entertaining. Making the Mojitos was fun as well. She is quite a character. Whilst at the hotel I did partake in making soap and also the jewellery making. Came home with some lovely soaps and a very pretty necklace which will be a fond memory of our holiday there. We are not lovers of doing quizzes but found ourselves looking forward to the nightly 30 minute quiz, which you complete on your phone. No one knows how good or bad you are then,. I was very surprised on our last night that I did win the quiz. I will miss the views for breakfast as well as the freshly made omelettes - washed down with a glass of Freixenet. The buffet at night was very good, loved their fish nights where lobster was cooked in front of you. Turkey, beef, duck and salmon were on during our time there. and carved by the chef for you. There was always tuna, chicken, steaks, salmon and prawns available as well every night, again cooked to your liking. We did eat in the quieter Star Prestige dining area but often went into the main dining area as more choice was available in there. Comments could be that the red wine in the self serve Star Prestige lounge was not always available and we had to ask at reception , it was soon brought up from the bar though. I only drink decaf coffee and for some reason it was not available in this lounge, again I had to ask for this, which took a few requests before a pot of instant coffee granules was made available. It was an easy problem to be solved, but took too long. Another comment would be to the management, 3 of them, appeared one afternoon in the pool bar area to speak to 2 Spanish guests. The management were never seen talking to anyone else in the whole of the hotel. It would have been nice for them to spend a few minutes interacting with other quests around the hotel. On the whole we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. The children's pool area looked lovely, the games that were played around the main are looked fun, The kids club did well to keep a lot of the children entertained, they di work hard. We will come back as we found it a very relaxing place to stay Thanks to all the happy staff.
Watching the waves break against the wall.
A/C was switched off. No heating, no cooling
A really good family hotel (two kids, five and two), with lovely service, a good selection of pools and an excellent location. The staff went above and beyond for my partner’s birthday arrangements, the kids enjoyed the activities, and a solid selection of food for lunch and dinner. My main feedback would be they should improve the daytime and lunchtime food offer, particularly for kids, as the snack truck is pretty disappointing and the buffet gets repetitive three meals a day. They could do with offering cafe-style sandwiches, chips, ice cream etc from one of the bars during the day. That said, would recommend for families.
Close to the sea
They did not give us the room we booked. We were in Extreme discomfort because no sun on balcony at all. It was freezing. The heating option on the a/c was not working. We both got a cold. They give us a plugin blow heater. We insisted on getting the rooms we booked. It was better , we extended our stay for too days. They did not apologise at all or compensate us but instead they charges us much more for the two nights in the same room . They charged us €800 extra for the two extra nights. I was not happy with that at all.
Comfortable but expensive for 1 night stopover
Good morning to all at the ILP 👍 I’m a little late with my usual review, but as they say better late than never! We’re lucky enough to have visited the ILP a good number of times annually because the ILP resort really works for us. I remember way back to our very first visit you think to yourself will this hotel work for us…. or will it indeed not work for us - you never know unless you try. On arrival, the walk under the trestle woodwork up to the reception is enchanting and looking right through the reception area you’re greeted with a fantastic view of the sea - really sets you up! Once inside it’s big smiles and big hugs from the reception team - what a really lovely team indeed, and once the paper work formalities are completed at the counter it’s over to the comfortable seated area to complete the check-in, and enjoy a few glasses of chilled bubbly and to find out what’s new, what’s changed, and reacquaint with the general hotel dynamics. The wonderful Séverine - my shining ⭐ again looked after us through this phase, and as always I gave her a big tub of Roses chocolates to share with the reception team. While I was relaxing in the reception area enjoying the bubbly, and thinking for once we arrived in really good time after the morning flight arrived 40 minutes early due to biblical tailwinds, a VERY speedy transfer through the airport, and a waiting taxi and the time showing 13:05hrs, I felt for those sitting waiting on a transfer coach at the airport who would still be there an hour later. Then a sharply dressed young man approached us - it had to be Alfonso, the Guest Services/Experience manager! We had previous dialogue via email, so it was fantastic to put a face to the name and to finally meet this highly professional young man, and a tip for other guests if necessary is to speak with Alfonso should anything require his attention. Like all his predecessors, Alfonso is a very understanding person, and will do his utmost to resolve any issues. Then a visit to the office see Maria and Laura who are part of the management team, and are dear friends. Great to see you ladies again looking fabulous! And, my old (well not so old!) mate Borja - now the general manager - was there, so great to catch up and have a good chat again! With our luggage already in our suite, we make our way up - we tend to request the same suite, and the middle suite on the top floor gives a fantastic panoramic view of things. Our suite was looked after by dear Michel - a lovely kind woman who kept things nice. We never go out and leave a suite like a tip so this makes the job far easier for her. Thank you, Michel 🙏 I noticed a new safe in our suite! The old one had its little foibles and I had mastered it over the years, but good to see a brand new safe there making life very easy! The food this time around was pretty good as always. The choices are vast, and a couple of times I wandered up and down the line still indecisive about what to choose! I’m a seafood junkie so fresh fish and grilled prawns are my general diet. The restaurant team are fantastic, and go about their duties ensuring everyone has a nice experience. We do like to eat out an a couple of evenings at our favourite restaurants in Playa Blanca, but generally we return for the evening entertainment. The restaurant team do a great job as do the many behind the scenes who you never see, so a warm thank you to all. One issue which I have addressed with the management is parents allowing young children to run around while guests are choosing their food. This is dangerous with guests carrying plates of hot food. Parental control is very important but unfortunately some parents just don’t care. The entertainment again was pretty good! I like the live shows and this time it was Tina Turner, and The Beatles! Digital quizzes and bingo are there for anybody who fancies participating. Again I have taken this issue up with management of children running around playing hide & seek under guest tables while they’re trying to watch the entertainment, and again this is down to lack of parental control….. not a major issue and I learned to go with the flow but I could see some guests were getting pretty annoyed, while the parents sat their drinking. Understanding this is a family oriented hotel, it’s something that is being continuously assessed to ensure all guests have a wonderful experience, and I thank the management for their time and input on this subject. The hotel offers the Star Prestige option - adults only 24/7, so if you’re after a total child free holiday, this is the place to be. The entertainment team were as lively as ever! Some of the classes they run seem really interesting indeed, but not for me personally! The team always try to involve as many as possible but are also very very respectful if you choose not to join in. A really nice bunch of talented people who work very hard indeed, and many have become dear friends. The terrace area, the Jameos Bar, and the Sports Lounge are vibrant places to be, and that’s the hub of activity during the day, late afternoons and evenings. Every drink/liquor/cocktail/beer you could ever imagine is there, and all branded. The team are absolutely brilliant! Always good to catch up with many we stay in touch with and have become dear friends over the years. Some new faces in the table staff team, but all super friendly and always smiling to make your relaxation a great experience indeed. Fortunately we were blessed with blue skies, and lovely warm sunshine but the weather has gone through a strange period of late - remembering its winter time in Lanzarote as it is in the UK, some quite unseasonal periods have seen gale force winds, driving rain, and whatever else the Jetstream has thrown at the Canaries, but what’s there in the morning can be gone by the afternoon, although some periods of inclement weather do last longer. The towel on the sun lounger scenario is well managed, but during our November stay this was never a problem as things have quietened down dramatically after the mad rush of school half term. The pool areas are really nice and always kept clean and tidy, although one or two of the sun lounger mattress's are in need of some TLC and look past their best. The resort grounds are kept nice by the team - always working hard to keep the place up to standard. Well done to them all. I guess Trip Advisor is the place that many have a good rant about hotel standards etc. I agree with that but I think it’s important to address any issues directly with the hotel - as I have, and as many do. This enables the management to fed back any issues to the various teams. Another absolutely wonderful and relaxing trip - thank you to all involved, and to Moises, Séverine, Irma, Marina, Valentine, Irene, Maria, Laura, Alfonso, Borja, Michel, Pedro, Haido, Javi, Xabi, Jessica, Ari, Alex, Irina, Manuella, Soi, and all those others who’s name I haven’t listed! ❤️ Closing my review, I have included a couple of photographs from Christmas time. Thank you all so much for looking after us - we deeply appreciate your kind care and attention, and we will see you all again very soon. Look after yourselves, and each other. 🫡
We have visited this hotel on many occasions and we are always pleased with it. We were given our favourite room, which is extremely clean and comfortable. The staff are outstanding: efficient, helpful, friendly and cheerful. This includes reception, bar, breakfast, pool bar, cleaning staff and checkout . All are outstanding.
It is pricey in these difficult times.
This hotel is lovely and we had a great relaxing holiday. The food is a very high standard (we were half board) they seemed to have something for everyone - no one would starve that's for sure! How wonderful to have an adequately heated swimming pool! None of the usual shivering and shaking before you get right in. The pool areas were also very clean as was the whole hotel so shout out to the cleaners. Our room had a great coffee machine, the only small problem we had was that when we ran out of pods they were not replaced so had to keep asking reception for more. We liked the coffee so much we would have paid for more if necessary. For people who enjoy a spa, this one was great. Super clean, warm and time went really fast. The gym was the best we have experienced in a hotel. We also booked a couples massage. There are also options to do various classes. We did yoga and pilates which was enjoyable. Not in the Spa but outside. The staff here were all friendly and very pleasant. I feel I have to mention that we had an issue with mosquitos who don't normally bother me but I got bitten quite a lot and we killed quite a few during the first couple of days. If this is because of a septic tank then it would be a good idea to spray the area. Over all a great hotel and yes we would return
Fabulous hotel APART from if it is raining, cold and windy and you are staying in the Star Prestige area. I go to this hotel maybe 6 to 8 times a year. I'll start with the negative side (which could be very easy over come) If it is raining, windy and cold and you are staying Star Prestige on BB or HB then the only place you can get a good choice of drinks and snacks is the SP Pool Bar which is put in the open air, no shelter or cover from the rain or cold. Yes you can get a small secretion of drinks and cold snacks from the SP lounge but this is very small and only seats about 12 to 15 people. It is unsafe for guests to go to the outside bar to get a drink and snack then have to walk in the rain. It would be very easy for those days to allow guests to use the Sports Bar which is undercover. Especially with the amount of storms they have had for the last 3 months. Also in the evening it is so cold to sit outside, yes they do have entertainment inside in the main area, but it is a lot noisier than SP. They need to do something about this ASAP, as this is the main complaint I hear people talking about. In my last 2 stays I have not sat outside in the SP area and just gone to my room as it has been too cold. Also the SP pool and Jacuzzi need to be heated at all times and not just when guests start to complain. Or out over head heater in where the heat comes down and also I noticed this time a lot of the over head covers where missing, starting to make it look not 5 star. The small tables around the pool need replacing as most are broken or rusty, some of the lounger mats have been changed but not all, these all need to be changed, also more sand is needed in the sand area as you can see the liner underneath, I have mentioned these points to the hotel on numerous occasions but nothing is done. Sometimes it's the little things that don't cost that much that will make a big different especially for a 5 star hotel. Sadly the room I was in this time (3009), you could NOT lock the terrace door from the outside, I noticed it was the only one that had the old lock, I did mention this 3 times but when I left it was still the same. Hopefully this will be changed for the next guest. On a positive note the STAFF at the the Star Prestige Bar are 1st class, always friendly, smiling no matter what and are always happy to see you, along with the Staff in the SP restaurant, reception staff are also lovely and friendly, also the cleaners also say good morning to you, as well as Alfonso who is Guest Services, he is so easy to talk to and also listens to you. Hopefully the reply will not just concentrate on the positive that I have said and something will be done re the negative parts, as these are the parts that is really letting the hotel down, when there are now so many more 5 star hotels and also new ones being built.
Myself and husband have just come back from a 4 day stay and it was wonderful. We upgraded to star Prestige and we thought this was worth the extra money. The rooms were very well appointed and very well equipped. The bed was huge and big TV with lots of English Channels, staff were brilliant and servie was amazing. Star Prestige-we stated in a seprate block with our own bar, pools and balinese beds. Plenty of sunbeds around and when we arrived we were made to feel very special. We were under the impression that there were 2 restaurants but in fact it was really just a seperate section for star prestige, they did have another chef cooking some different foods and the sepearte section was quieter and also there were lovely views,so with that in mind we felt it was worth the money. We would both highly recommened this hotel and we will be back. This is our third Iberostar and this is a great hotel chain.
We’ve been to this hotel before (2019,2022,2024) and then for 8 nights this January / February, we are a family with 3 children aged 10,8 &3. We were half board and had two rooms that had a interconnecting door. The staff have always been exceptionally helpful and friendly & on our 3 previous visits I absolutley couldn’t fault a thing…. There are lots of positives : Our children all had a great time in and around the pools, the food was delicious, ( albeit slightly repetitive) ice cream on tap, comfy sun loungers with fresh dry towels daily if required, a nice mix of activities with lovely helpful staff, all areas very clean, warm pools, a lovely shallow splash pool for our youngest, friendly chatty guests, easy walking to the local town, harbour and the lovely flamingo beach….. a real mix of older couples and young families. We felt very safe everytime we have stayed here. Just two negatives this time. Our room was located on the top floor in the middle of the furthest horseshoe (overlooking the children’s pools ) it would seem that this particular area had some substantial issues with mosquitoes ( I think because we were close to the septic tanks - again I appreciate every hotel needs one - just unfortunate that we could smell it ) I must of squatted more than 60 pesky on our first night in our room - ( I counted them as I squashed them) it did leave us all bitten and pretty uncomfortable for afew days. I did speak to the staff on reception who denied all knowledge of it being a problem but did provide us with a plug in which helped. They also checked in on us 24 hours later to see how we all were . I also invested in a large amount of spray and cream from the local chemist which helped. It was just a shame that they couldn’t of pre warned us so that we could of prevented it. I know the island has experienced alot of rain recently ( it’s so green) which has heightened the issue of mozzies. So in short, make sure you take some spray with you. The only other negative is that the air conditioning wasn’t overly effective. On previous stays we have been perfectly comfortable but this time our room was stuffy ( we didn’t dare open the balcony door at night because of the mozzies ! ) Overall we had a truly wonderful holiday, we have now been here 4 times and I would definitely reccomend this hotel, but given the amount of money we spent I didnt feel like we had the full 5 star experience that we had in previous years when we stayed here.
just returned from our 4th trip here, this was a last minute holiday so just booked a SP double sea view room, we had room 3318 on 3rd floor(usually book a junior suite). The room had everything we needed but we found it a bit small with nowhere to sit in the room apart from the bed, you could tell everyone else did the same and sat on edge of bed as the mattress did slope down. The mini bar was not replenished every day and the turn down service only happened 5 nights out of our eight. Johanna our room cleaner was lovely and did a great job. All staff excellent as normal especially Brahim, Jan ,Raul and all SP bar staff. Severine on reception was so helpful especially when we needed our room for an extra night due to illness. Food good as always.
First time travellers to this hotel, and indeed to Lanzarote. Booked a room in the Star Prestige (SP) section of the hotel. There are many positives about this hotel. The location is perfect, picturesque and ideal for a stroll left or right once on the promenade. The Star Prestige concept was good, well thought out and the bar staff at the pool bar were exceptional. However. The talk amongst the guests was not about the weather or how the holiday was going, but whether you had caught it yet. And we both did! Big time. A really nasty sickness bug which we know affected many other guests too. In hindsight I wish I had read all the reviews as others have shared similar experiences. For us it was not just a little stomach upset. It involved extreme stomach cramps, sweating, and crawling along the floor to the bathroom. Four days of a seven day holiday were ruined. I first raised the matter at the SP reception on day 3 (after my wife first caught it), where the girl acted surprised, took notes, and said she would be sure to pass this information on. Another SP couple nearby (who had overhead our chat) approached me to say they had caught the same bug and had reported it too. On the last day (ready to head home and keen to get away) I again approached the SP reception and asked to speak to one of the managers. After a prolonged wait I had a sitdown chat with Maria. She had clearly been briefed and came armed with a certificate (in Spanish) from the Island Health Authority confirming that the island was in the grip of an extreme outbreak of Norovirus. She added that this was not unusual during the winter months. Ok, so my natural reply was why the guests were not made aware of this, and what measures did the hotel have in place to restrict the spread within the hotel? Her reply was that it was not a hotel issue, but an island issue; there was no need for the hotel to act. So what about all the guests sharing serving spoons, tongs, ice-cream scoop, bread knife at the bakery station? All contaminating one another?? She replied again that it was not a hotel issue, but an island issue, and left. Sorry Maria and Iberostar, I expect better when I am guest of yours. I should add that the clientele included a large proportion of more senior guests, many who clearly had health issues, including several in wheel chairs. I can only hope they managed to avoid it. We won't be back.
Great Location. Super Staff. Delicious Breakfast.
The music by the pool throughout the day was far too loud and distracting. Mosquitos!
Pool was lovely and warm. Excellent breakfast. Very attentive staff.
Be aware that finding car parking is a challenge.
