Reviewed Jul 24, 2026Great resort! Offers many pools to choose from depending on what you are wanting. Party pool, water slides, adult only, secluded and the preferred pool has an amazing view! Plenty of pool chairs, umbrellas and clean towels around the pool areas. Carlos around the pools is fast with food and drink orders, always with a smile!
Many different restaurants to choose from with a variety of options. Staff is so friendly. Javier at the Hibachi is great. Puts on a great show and the food is delicious...our favorite!
Coco Cafe offeres a great frappe, ice cream, desserts and sandwiches.
David our butler helped with any requests we had while I was figuring out the hotel app. Checked in daily to see if we needed anything.
The ONLY down side of this hotel is the beach....there is none. We knew beforehand so it was expected, but did think we could at least get into the water. It is almost impossible to even access the water. The water is too shallow to swim and so covered with larger rocks. My husband and I spent 11 days here celebrating our 25th anniversary. We enjoyed the stay and would definitely return!

Reviewed Jul 23, 2026This was a nice stay at Dreams. I’ve stayed in many other Dreams before and this was not my favorite but still had a nice week! I chose this resort because I like the chain and because of the amount of pools and waterslides since I was travelling with kids 6-8yeard and I knew sargasm/seaweed was bad and didn’t plan to do beach anyways.
Pros: pools were great, kids club was fantastic, staff was extremely attentive (benefit of being low capacity), the bartenders, pool servers (Antonio is incredible, so nice and all hassle) entertainment team (Fernanda is the best! But they are all great for yoga, pool vball, crazy games, foam party), all hosts and restaurant staff and servers were all great (loved our special 4th of July celebration - they made it a big party)! I loved that this resort also has a nutrition specialist that hosts special events (charcuterie/mocktail making) and games- this really was a unique thing that I haven’t experienced anywhere else. Love that towels are put out in AM and free wifi. Resort was great size and layout. Room was very big and spacious! Coco cafe is the best, great variety and choices throughout the day, they were very nice! Spa is such a delight! We did the hydrotherapy + VIP services and it did not disappoint, love it! Tapanaki was great make sure you sign up.
Cons: honestly was underwhelmed with food. Not sure if low capacity made this difference. Menu items weren’t great just okay. Also you can’t be a 5 star and not have any bacon on the resort. I also love dreams because you don’t have to make reservations (except tapanaki) , but strangely they said resos had to be made on app which again annoying when I like dreams for the purpose of no resos.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2026Exceptional staff & food experience. I have Celiac Disease, and the resort handled my dietary needs better than most places I have visited. I was offered gluten free bread, noodles, gluten-free waffles, pancakes and were prepared safely. One moment that impressed me was at lunch: the chef made a gluten free fried rice from scratch, He went into the kitchen grabbed a separate pan, separate utensils, and gluten free soy sauce, and prepared everything with care.
The entertainment team worked hard every day to get guests involved in activities they offered. They were upbeat , friendly and genuinely tried to make sure everyone was having a good time. The drink service around the pool is wonderful.
The down side to this resort-there is no beach. They do have sargassum barrier, but some seaweed still gets through. At times there is a sewer like smell which is the rotting sargassum. The resort is an older resort and you will notice signs of wear: cracked counter tops at the buffet, missing elevator buttons, cracked walkways. None of this ruined out stay but should be noted.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2026Wanted to write a first hand review, unprompted, on our July 2026 Trip to Dreams Puerto Morelos.
Resort was smaller, which is a plus. Everything easily walkable in 4-5 minutes at furthest points. Very flat and easy to navigate.
Service was excellent - notably our butler, Miguel M - was super accomodating, easy to communicate with via WhatsApp and went above and beyond for us on multiple occasions. Cannot say enough good things about how easy he made our travel. Plenty of tips and excellent recommendations for dining. Franco at Ki was also a standout - the care he took with our family and special touches added to our meal made it one of the most memorable parts of our trip. And finally Antonio - who you can find serving up drinks and snacks around the pools throughout the week had a hustle about him like we haven't seen in ages - super personable and always prompt and courteous - he also has some amazing drink recommendations if you ask him for a surprise.
Our room was great, clean, serviced regularly and always well stocked, air worked well despite the July heat. Barefoot grill did have fluctuating wait times a peak hours, but they have a system for that and you will get your food.
We did hear from a couple other guests that they were disappointed with the lack of beach, but we were very aware of this prior to booking through other reviews, didn't shock us and we are pool people anyways.
Long story short, don't let any negative reviews sway you from the value of this resort. We will be back.

Reviewed Jul 18, 2026Pretty good resort. Some issues in the rooms, but they were dealt with very quickly. The water doesn't go down the drain (both rooms), so we had to take out the covers to get the water to go down, even after they said they fixed it. We were given a new room because the bathroom light needed to be repaired. The new room was an upgraded room, so that was great. The balcony door wouldn't lock, but they added a latch lock the same day.
We picked the prefered package, so we had a few perks. A person was assigned to us named Didier. He was amazing! He kept us updated daily with all the activities and shows that were happening. Booked us in for dinners, and basically answered all our questions and dealt with any issues. He connected with us through Whatsap, so even when he wasnt at the resort, he kept himself available.
My kids preferred the main pool over all the other pools. The water is about 4 ft high in all the pools. Theres ones tiny area with water about 1 ft deep for babies. My kids cant swim so they had to stay in life jackets all the time. It would have been nice if the kids pool area was around 3 ft deep for the smaller kids.
Bar staff were mostly friendly, especially if you tip. Servers are also pretty quick. They have servers walking around the pool area taking food and drink orders as well.
Food was good. The restaurants were good. The mexian and japanese restaurant were my favorite. No good dairy free dessert options, which really disappointed me. Decent selection at the buffet for all meals, not really my favorite. We did room service mostly for breakfast. Room service was pretty quick depending on the time. If its busy the wait could be upto an hour. If not busy, then about 25 mins.
Overall pretty good experience. It was not busy, so we got lucky. Nightly shows included a fire show, a mariachi, african show, mayan show, and a circus show. Lots of kids stuff as well: freeze dance, kids disco, musical chairs. We did not use the kids club, mainly because my kids do crafts and activities at home, so it was not new for them, and they also didnt want to go. But others who did, said their kids enjoyed it and it was a nice break from the sun during the day.

Unfortunately, our stay at Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort & Spa was our most disappointing trip to Mexico.
We chose this resort because it was advertised as a family-friendly destination, but it did not meet our expectations. The water slides were enjoyable for the kids, but they closed at 5 p.m., the pools closed at 8 p.m., and the pool closest to our room was closed for maintenance for most of our stay.
The biggest disappointment was the food. Both the buffet and the à la carte restaurants were well below the standard we’ve experienced at other all-inclusive resorts in Mexico. There was very little variety, breakfast options were limited, fresh tropical fruit was lacking, and many meals were dry or disappointing. Even our children struggled to find food they enjoyed.
Overall, the resort felt unusually quiet during our stay, and our overall experience—including the excursions booked through the on-site Sunwing representative and the airport transfer—left us extremely disappointed.
While the resort staff we interacted with were generally polite, we would not return to Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort & Spa or recommend it to families looking for the quality all-inclusive experience that Mexico is known for.

On top of that it is a far cry from an adult only resort. There were kids everywhere. Reviewed Jul 8, 2026This was our first trip to Mexico, and it definitely won't be our last! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort & Spa, and we're already looking forward to coming back for our next vacation. We have stayed at several Dreams Resorts over the years, and once again they exceeded our expectations.
One of the biggest advantages of this resort is its location—it's only about a 15–20-minute drive from Cancún International Airport, making both arrival and departure quick and stress-free.
We stayed in a Preferred Club room, and it was absolutely worth it. The room was spacious, spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable. The beds and pillows were excellent, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and housekeeping did an outstanding job every day.
The resort itself is stunning. The lush tropical landscaping is meticulously maintained, and wherever you walk, you hear birdsong, creating a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you immediately feel like you're on vacation.
The pools were fantastic. There were so many to choose from that they never felt overcrowded, and we never had to wake up early to reserve chairs. There was always plenty of space to relax and enjoy the day.
The food was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. Our favorite restaurant was the Japanese hibachi restaurant, where Antonio made dinner both entertaining and delicious. He was an incredible chef and made the evening memorable. We also loved the buffet, which offered an impressive variety of fresh, high-quality food at every meal. There was always something new to try.
What truly made our vacation special was the exceptional staff. Every employee we met was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely wanted guests to have an amazing experience.
A very special thank you goes to Didier, our concierge, who kept us informed every day, helped with reservations, answered all of our questions, and made sure everything was taken care of throughout our stay. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made our vacation completely stress-free.
We'd also like to recognize Enrique, who was always friendly, helpful, and happy to share recommendations about the area and Mexican culture. His enthusiasm and genuine hospitality added a personal touch to our stay and made us feel even more welcome.
There was never a shortage of things to do. Every day, the entertainment team organized activities such as yoga on the pier, cooking classes, games, fitness activities, and many more events for both adults and children. Every evening featured a different show, and we really enjoyed the variety of entertainment available throughout our stay.
Some travelers may wonder about the beach. There is a small beach area, but it isn't the type of long beach where you can walk for miles. For us, this wasn't a downside at all. We visited during seaweed season, and we had planned to spend most of our time at the pools anyway. The beach area was still beautiful to look at, and we never felt like we were missing out because everything else the resort had to offer more than made up for it.
Overall, Dreams Puerto Morelos exceeded every expectation. Between the outstanding staff, exceptional food, beautiful tropical grounds, comfortable accommodations, excellent entertainment, convenient location, and amazing pools, it delivered one of the best all-inclusive vacations we've had. We highly recommend this resort and can't wait to return to both Mexico and Dreams Puerto Morelos for another unforgettable vacation!

Reviewed May 30, 2026I don’t think this hotel is up to its rating. PROS: Most of the staff are exceptional and I had a fabulous experience at the spa (shoutout to Frida!), and our butler Didier was fantastic. Aside from that though, food options were super limited especially if you are travelling with children since the French restaurant is adults only. It was also really nice that there is no towel card required for towels at the pool.
CONS: ugh, the food. Very…ok, but after a week it was nearly unbearable. Same selection every day, and each person in our group had stomach issues at some time during the stay. Also general cleanliness - the elevators in our building were so gross and dirty, and sometimes animals would get into dishes left in the hallway so there would be food scraps strewn across the hallways. If you bring it to someone’s attention it does get cleaned quickly but if you don’t, it stays like that for days. The main pool was so warm it was like bath water, unsure if that’s from people peeing in it or they don’t keep it cool but either way it wasn’t refreshing.

Reviewed May 29, 2026We went in May with my husband, 8-year old daughter and mother and father in in-law. This was my 16th trip to Mexico and my second experience at a Dreams resort. I am not at all picky and usually ignore the reviews, but in this case, I wish I didn't. This is the worst resort I've stayed at in Mexico.
The food for the most was not good. The best meal I had was at the Italian restaurant. There were very few restaurants open. We planned to have dinner at the Mexican restaurant, but they switched the menu that day to the seafood restaurant and didn't not let anyone know. That was the only day it showed the Mexican restaurant open on the app, and they weren't even serving Mexican, so that was disappointing. And the seafood restaurant was not very good.
The buffet wasn't even open daily! So if you could not get into a restaurant until 8 or 9:00 (which doesn't work with kids), you had to order room service to eat. Snack bar is not open during dinner hours either. I was really shocked, as the buffet has always been open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily at ever other resort I have been to.
The pools were filthy. I never once saw them clean them. And to make matters worse, someone pooped in the main pool with the swim up bar, so they had to shut it down. Drinks at the swim up bar took upwards of 20 minutes. Bar tenders wouldn't even make eye contact. Service at the other bars was much better.
Upon check in, it took 2 hours for our luggage to get to our room. So we were very late to dinner, as we had nothing but our bathing suits until they brought our luggage.
Many cockroaches in the hallway outside of our room. Thankfully, none in our room!
We stayed at Dreams Sapphire last year and service and food were excellent, so we were expecting the same level with this Dreams, but were incredibly let down.

Shower was clogged the whole week. Pillows are horrible. A/C extremely noisy. Always the same 3 restaurants open on 8 or 9. Food was not great at all. No variety. Truely not a 5 star. I do not recommend and we will not go back. Especially spending 5000$ for a week.
Only positive points was the staff. They are extremely nice. The site is beautiful and clean.

Reviewed May 28, 2026We spent 10 days in the Prefered Club, which gave you upgraded rooms, use of ocean front pool, a la carte breakfast option, butler service, private lounge with very nice snacks and premium drinks. We have stayed at more costly resorts and I must say this is very near to their standards. The grounds were extremely well maintained throughout. A big thank you to all the staff. who were the best we have ever had. A special mention must be given to the coffee shop, which was excellent. Food in all restaurants was good, including the buffet which had a wonderful selection. Rooms were great and cleaned immaculately each day.
To summarise:
Pros- Grounds well maintained, cleanliness of resort great, food very good, all staff excellent. Praise must be given to the management in running a resort of this size so smoothly for its guests.
Cons: No real beach anymore but it didnt bother us as we prefer the pool. Our room however had superb ocean front views. The only real issue was with the replenishment of the mini bar, which was hit and miss, but a quick call to reception each time sorted this within 15 mins with an apology.
All in all,I would recommend this resort.

With 5 pools one a infinity pool, you are spoilt for choice. The hotel is very clean with workers constantly maintaining various areas. Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Some restaurants were not open whilst we were there or the buffet option normally available in the world cafe. Reviewed May 6, 2026We had a relaxing stay at Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort & Spa. The staff were kind and hardworking, the rooms were clean, and the food and pools were enjoyable overall. The resort itself is beautiful and peaceful.
One thing to note is that the beach area is very limited, so if having a large swimmable beach is important to you, this may not be the best fit. Overall though, we appreciated the experience and had a nice time away.
I recently stayed at Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort & Spa as a graduation gift and family trip, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet the Dreams expectations that we’ve come to love and expect from their resorts.
As always we paid extra for the Preferred Club service, and I would strongly caution others before doing the same. The upgrade offered very little added value beyond a slightly better room view. The service and overall experience were not noticeably different. In fact, there was only one “preferred” bar, and access was restricted (for example, you couldn’t enter if you were wet), which made it inconvenient rather than exclusive.
The bar service across the resort lacked consistency—drinks varied widely depending on who made them. The food was another major disappointment, with limited quality and variety throughout the stay.
What stood out most negatively was the staff attitude. We encountered several instances of rudeness, which made the experience feel unwelcoming and far from the level of service expected at a resort of this category.
For families, this is not as ideal as advertised. The kids’ activities are clearly geared toward toddlers, despite marketing that suggests it accommodates children up to age 12. Older kids will likely be bored.
The resort itself is quite small, which may appeal to some, but it felt limiting. The beach was especially disappointing—very small, rocky, and the water was not clean or inviting.
The water park also requires constant supervision, even for older children, which takes away from the ability for parents to relax.
Overall, this resort did not deliver on value, service, or family experience. I would not recommend spending extra on Preferred Club, and I would suggest looking at other resorts if you are traveling with children or expecting a higher-end all-inclusive experience.
Similar to other reviewers. Typically do not stay at an all inclusive as sitting around all day isn't that appealing, but this was quite nice.
The staff was simply superb. Juan at restaurant reservations constantly checked in on us whether at the pool, or seeing me out and about. Nallely at Ru De Rivoli, Timon as a waiter,Ricky for events, just everyone is amazing.
There is little beach which was unfortunate, so ended up sitting by the pool, which was OK, but prefer seeing the ocean over a bunch of people. Timon and the other waiters were great at bringing drinks and really liked the hamburgers and pizza from Barefoot Grill.
The meals were excellent. Miyako had great Japanese, Ru de Rivoli had an excellent steak and La Parilla was great. Didn't get to Ki sadly. Oh and the skewers at Balik were excellent. The desserts were disappoing. The mousse (which is my favorite) was more a chocolate jello than a light and airy mousse. The cakes were ok, there was one that was great, but the rest were just ok. The omelets at World Cafe were very good, but the orange juice did not taste fresh. Perhaps spoiled by Costa Rica.
We did try room service and it was good. The tortilla soup almost had the consistency and look of red sauce for enchiladas.
Uber worked well and got into town for around $7 each way. We did use the shuttle which was easy to use and they met us at the airport.
Overall an excellent stay and would not hesitate to stay here again mostly because of the staff. The lack of a beach is unfortunate though.
Spa was very enjoyable. The nice man Elazer got us all set up with the spa. He is a very helpful man. Algradro was my massage therapist. He may have given me the best massage of my life. Very helpful and friendly staff. Room's are very clean and nice. Food was over all good.

Just returned form here and this hotel is good but a few little niggles could make it even better
The beach isn't really there only a man made version within the grounds, The music gets extremely loud after the entertainment finishes and is constant so take ear defenders, mini bar wasn't re stocked every day so we had to ask, this was for water, beers, soft drinks and of course the Pringles
The waiting and serving staff are brilliant all round
We paid for the preference club package which is really worth it I felt, sadly the reception staff didn't look at our voucher and showed no interest in us on registering on check in, we had to ask for this package and I felt that they were doing us a favour when we did the next day, they resolved this in the end thankfully and it was worth it, yes we would return but only if there was a proper beach

Reviewed Apr 19, 2026The service & food was excellent. The beach situation is not ideal if you like the beach, but if you don't, then you'll be able to enjoy the variety of pools while still 'seeing' the ocean. It was not crowded at all when we went in March, which was wonderful! Our room on the 1st floor backed up to the UVC club pool, so it was extremely peaceful.

Reviewed Apr 19, 2026This small resort was great in the ways that matter most: the staff was genuinely wonderful across every area of the property, and the food was consistently good throughout our stay. You can tell the team here takes pride in what they do, and that warmth goes a long way.
For families, there's real potential here. The kid-friendly areas are a highlight, and the intimate size of the resort creates a relaxed, personal atmosphere you won't find at a large all-inclusive. If the pricing is right, it could be a sweet spot for families looking for something low-key.
That said, I'd be doing future guests a disservice not to mention the facility concerns. The rooms show their age — several areas we saw had visible signs of wear, and some showed water or mildew damage that needs attention. We also experienced very low water pressure throughout our stay, and on our final day had no cold water for a couple of hours, which left us without a functioning toilet temporarily.
One more important note: if beach access is a priority, this may not be the right fit. The resort has very little beach to speak of.

Reviewed Apr 19, 2026I was there on a work trip and this resort fell flat for me. The event went really well itself however outside of the event I was underwhelmed by this property. The closet doors and drawers barely closed and seemed dated. There was no exterior handle on our patio door, just loose screws. The preferred club is NOT worth it. I received no extra attention, no concierge level service that I was expecting. And the "upgraded" liquor in the lounge was not upgraded at all with their highest whiskey being Jim Beam, which is not a good whiskey.

Reviewed Apr 17, 2026We thought this place looked pretty magical and I was looking for a healing and relaxing trip after recently losing my mom. Literally this was the worst resort I have ever been to. Ever. To advertise as 5 stars and for the price it was an absolute joke and one million percent false advertising. Horrible food, horrible customer service, bug infestation, food poisoning, not getting preferred anything even though we paid for that level, useless ‘butler’, stained furniture in rooms, a very strong sewage smell through hallways of some buildings, jets not working on either tub in master front ocean suite, air conditioning stopped working, dirty basic amenities upon arrival of room (spoons, tub, major bug problem that had apparently been sprayed but then getting them to come and follow through with cleaning up said piles of bugs was like pulling teeth), the list goes on. Burgers being restocked in the outside grill being pulled out of 8” deep liquid of some kind. Running out of basic snacks at the pool or items like cheese for a burger 5 days out of 10 and fries 2 of the days. My son was served a ‘hashbrown’ that was so overcooked he thought he broke his tooth. Room service one night took almost 3 hours and literally 3 tries to get a burger to come with no cheese for my son even after specifying on the app AND on the phone when they called our room to confirm our order and the first wait time of 70 minutes which seemed long but understandable. He didn’t get to eat until almost 11 because of the continued screw ups.
Even basic things like bacon and sausage are not available in the buffet. We found out a week into the trip you can order bacon from your server.
We were also put in a building with no working elevator other than the next building to get over even after specifying before arrival and at check in I have a mobility issue. They finally changed us rooms after a week and that was when the bug infestation and dirty amenities started. We were also told one week into our stay that children are no longer allowed in any of the preferred club areas downstairs. When we walked past that area for dinner, there were multiple kids in the area just hanging out. So we messaged our butler and were told that she actually made a mistake and was given wrong information. As well, online when you book, there is nothing about the sports bar area being adults only or for teenagers during the day only. This was very disappointing to my guys as they are very big sports fan and we honestly would’ve probably booked somewhere else even just based on that alone so they could catch their favourite games still. I was also told over one weekend to our trip that there is apparently a preferred menu available for room service. Nobody informed us of this, including our Butler. When I asked about it, she once again told me that I can find the information on the app. So when I questioned where on the app, she then stated oh dear, I don’t see it there either. So sorry about that. So it makes me wondering question how many people are paying for preferred services and not actually receiving what they are paying for.
I would never stay here again or recommend it to family or friends. Spoke with two separate managers- Carlos and Yosalet- and carlos even admitted this location is not even remotely up to dreams standards and that he has worked at many. It’s shocking and very misleading to advertise as a 5 star place for what we received. Very disappointed to say the least and wish we would have listened to the other reviews. Truly we thought some people just like to complain but this place was a total gong show of an experience and really quite gross on many levels. Beautiful property grounds though for sure minus the beach but we knew about that going.
Most of the staff at restaurants were beyond lovely, although it was ridiculous to have to wait over an hour sometimes and wait at all really for half empty restaurants. And don’t even get me started about trying to find a chair to use at the pool for the day. They finally started cracking down on people not saving chairs but unless you randomly lucked out which we did a couple of times, it was next to impossible find a place to sit by the pool, let alone as a group and we were only 3 people.
Save your money and your headache. I will include photos in the comments but heads up they include a large pile of bugs multiple times. They would clean the pile once after repeatedly asking to have it dealt with and within an hour the pile would be back. It also begs to question what kind of poison is so strong that is being sprayed.
I should also mention that the evening that we finally complained to management after a horrible evening with room service and food poisoning the night before, we were offered two massages. Then our Butler showed up in our room with some forms at 10 at night for me to sign for the free massages, she put it under the top context as. Turns out they were actually NDA forms. I refused to sign.
I would give this location maybe a two star rating at best. It was extremely frustrating to have to deal with management even once let alone multiple times and have zero follow through with promises or apologies.

My wife and I came on holiday and it’s been a horrible experience. The lines for the restaurants are terrible. Over two hour wait for every restaurant including the buffet! Wonderful holiday. Lots for kids and teens.
Yes no beach because of the hurricane last year. Pools are fabulous as are the staff
From the moment we arrived at this hotel it’s been one issue after another. Waiting 3 hours after arriving for our room because they messed the reservation we had no towels or robes I had to dry off with a hand towel. We got ONE room key because “they didn’t have enough” the food situation is by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. When you try and eat at any restaurant including the buffet it’s over a hour wait. When there are MANY available tables. The buffet has hardly any food. They are grossly under staffed. The poor bartenders get swamped all night. When we tried to get a cab to leave go eat elsewhere not only where they extremely rude they tried to hustle us for a 70 can ride each way. It’s by far the worst all inclusive I’ve ever been to.
We had a terrible experience with our family during our 4 day seat with a group of 13 because: 1) raccoons in the night attacked our room service plates waking us up in the middle of the night, 2) Sewer smell outside of building 6 every night, 3) bad / slow room and housekeeping service, 4) lack of vegetarian food options and food lacking taste and flavor - Myoko food did not taste authentic at all and pasta in buffet was very dry, dinner buffet was limited options, 5) limited to none beach, 6) inability to make reservations at hibachi, 7) rude service - pizza man at pool restaurant yelled at children, 8) dirty rooms and public bathrooms

Reviewed Dec 30, 2025We stayed at Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort & Spa from Dec 23–27, 2025 (all-inclusive) and unfortunately the experience did not match what was advertised or what we expected for the cost.
Key issues:
Butler service was not provided. We booked based on the expectation of a butler/personal concierge experience (help with dining reservations, arranging activities, room preferences, etc.). That level of service simply did not happen.
Preferred Club lounge access was effectively unavailable most of the stay. Our key card did not work for the lounge and it wasn’t properly resolved until the last day, so we missed the benefit for the majority of our trip.
Dining options were far more limited than advertised. Marketing references enjoying cuisine across many venues, but during our stay several were closed and others were booked beyond our checkout date, which made it very difficult to actually access the dining choices you’d expect at an all-inclusive. We also asked about whether reservations were needed and did not get a clear response in time to help.
Food and drinks were disappointing overall, and we experienced unsanitary conditions, which is unacceptable at any resort—especially at this price point.
Entertainment was not “nightly.” We only saw two nights of entertainment during the entire stay.
I’m sharing this so other travelers can plan accordingly. If you’re paying a premium expecting a seamless “luxury” all-inclusive experience with consistent amenities, confirmed access, strong food/drink, cleanliness, and nightly entertainment, you may be disappointed.
Tips for future guests: Confirm in writing (before arrival) which restaurants are open, how reservations work, entertainment schedule, and how Preferred Club access is handled—then check your key card immediately on arrival.

Reviewed Dec 29, 2025Our family of 12 had 5 rooms at the Dreams Puerto Morelos over Christmas.
Pros: Pretty good restaurants that did not have long waits. Pool service was excellent and we very much appreciated two of our pool servers - Carlos and Leonardo. It was fun to meet them and learn a bit about their family. We reserved pool cabanas each day we were at the resort. We had a great experience reserving these, as well as the special Christmas dinner on the beach. Angel, the Food and Beverage Director, helped us to book these (be sure to inquire about any Champagne specials). Angel ensured our stay was top notch throughout. We did a day at the spa as well - excellent resort style spa that is well appointed and includes a hydrotherapy session with any service. Thanks to Emmanuel for helping me set-up reservations and package deals for the spa.
Cons: Rooms are a bit dated and tend to be damp. We struggled at times to get the restaurants to accommodate a large group for dinner. Be aware that the beach has washed away with the exception of one row of chairs. The beach was under red flag the entire time we were there and I would not call it swimmable.

All the restaurants did an amazing job accommodating our large, extended family, sitting us all together! It was a relaxing, quality family vacation…and an exceptional value!

Reviewed Dec 24, 2025We had an amazing stay here! We had 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 & 6. Yes, the beach is practically non existent but the amount of reviews complaining about this is hysterical. Do your research before traveling and you won't have this issue! We were very aware of the beach situation so we had no issue with it.
Check in was easy peasy! We were greeted with a welcome towel and drink and the kids were given a chocolate chip cookie. We arrived around 11am so our room was not ready, which we were prepared for. The resort had no issue holding our belongings and letting us use all the facilities upon our arrival. This was especially nice as when we stayed at Sunscape in March they would not let us eat or drink anything, or use their pool until after 3pm. We were shown around by a lovely woman named Josie and there was no annoying time share or vacation club presentation push. We very much appreciated this!
There are several pools- one main pool with entertainment and a swim up bar, several smaller more quiet pools, an infinity pool, an adults only pool, a small splash pad/slide are for smaller kids, and a pool with 4 waterslides. The waterslides are fun for adults and children. My 6 year old could use 3 out of the 4 slides as slide 1 you must be 10 or older. Not a big deal at all. Slide 4 you can use tubes on, so bring your own. We brought 2 inner tubes and 2 hammock style floats. We used them in the pools with no issues and it was super nice having them.
Overall I thought the food was great. I read a review about not having proper seafood- this could not be further from the truth. We had salmon, shrimp tacos, octopus, calamari, fried and grilled fish, etc. The only seafood we did not encounter was lobster or crab, which is not uncommon as these dishes are $$. In fact, we loved Balik so much for lunch that we ate there almost everyday. The calamari and shrimp gobernador tacos were absolutely incredible. Balik is where we met our 2 favorite employees- Sauli and Oscar. These two men were absolutely fabulous. So friendly and attentive. They remembered not only our food and drink orders but went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. We also ate at the Corner- our kids ate their weight in cheese fries, La Parrilla- excellent filet mignon, Miyako- Javier was fantastic and the hibachi was amazing, Ki, and Vivace. Ki and Vivace were our least favorite, but both were still okay. We didn't leave hungry that's for sure. When we had some food that was cold the manager was very attentive and ensured us he would rectify the situation. We were not complaining or causing a scene or anything, but it was clear he really wanted to ensure we had a great experience. We also saw managers at the buffet asking for feedback constantly on what they could be doing better. It was nice to see they were soliciting feedback to try and improve things. We were unable to eat at the French as we had kids with us, but we heard from other guests that it was fantastic. We never did the buffet for lunch or dinner, but breakfast was great. We utilized the omelet bar daily and there was always sausage links and bacon.
We had a ground floor walkout pool view room. We were in building 10 room 10105. This room had 2 queen beds and was absolutely huge. They could have easily fit another queen size bed in there. There was also a table and chairs and a couch- not a pull out but big enough that my 6 year old slept here and housekeeping had no issues giving us extra sheets, blankets, and pillow for her to sleep there. The bathroom and shower were huge as well. There were no large issues with the room- some corners of the doors were fraying, there was a weird stain on the couch, and 2 q-tips on the floor. Not a huge deal, but a little more upkeep could be good. The bed was rock hard. That was a definite draw back.
Kids club was strange to me. We travel alot and my 6 year old loves kid clubs. We tried to go 2x and both times were told it was not a leave your child situation. One time we went for "beauty time"- my daughter was absolutely thrilled for this. It was actually face painting and you could not leave your child. She was so bummed. The second time we tried we were told she could only stay for 45 minutes as they would then go outside for an activity. My daughter was like ok cool, I can play outside with you! They said no, it was not a drop off activity. I'm not sure why they call it a kids club if most of the activities parents have to stay for. The club is also only open until 5 so we were unable to utilize the adults only restaurant as I was not gonna leave my kids in our room while we ate. Again, not a huge issue, but strange hours. Other dreams resort kids clubs are open til 10.
The road into the resort was sketchy to say the least. Giant pot holes that caused some traffic issues. I was pleasantly surprised to see that on our trip back to the airport they had significantly fixed the road. Still not perfect but the difference in just 6 short days was absolutely incredible. Excellent job!
Overall we had a fantastic time! The resort wasn't over crowded, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was great, drinks were refreshing, and the pools were great. We got an excellent deal on our trip and for what I paid, I would absolutely go back.
