El hotel es hermoso
La cena 2 horas de espera
Muy buena atención
Los puntos para el frigobar debería de estar surtido
En definitiva el hotel es hermoso
La cena tardo 1 hora 30 en servir
Very clean and comfortable
Loved this hotel very clean and well appointed
Out in middle of nowhere
New , nice and clean
Poor internet . And AC stop working before last night.
The pool, license to chill restaurant
Not enough restaurants. The hours of certain restaurants were limited. The Boathouse food was not very good.
Adults only. New interior / exterior. Nice service
Slow, not enough people, not enough entertainment
Very corn. Good service.
Land shark not open fir dinner. No hot dogs.
Resort was clean, staff was wonderful.
Not a great beach, if that’s important to you. Pools were very nice.
Quite, not too crowded
Did not get the ocean view, even when we booked for it. Minimal food options Additional fees for beds on beach
Habitación, restaurantes, instalaciones todo perfecto.
Cuanta con una playita muy pequeña.
Smaller scale than most all inclusives. Extremely friendly staff. Effortless check-in and out. Very good maintenance of public areas and beach.
Poolside towels weren’t always available. Bathroom mirror needs to be replaced as glass had black spots where mirrored glass was missing.
Les chambres sont spacieuses et magnifiques
The rooms were comfortable, the staff were all extremely friendly.
This place was so miserable. Could get towels for 2 days, couldn't get restaurant reservations. Food was so bad, I wouldn't feed it to my dog
The personal service is excelent. Very rapid to help / support you . ANimation is great
The hotel is on the sea side but the see is dirty ( algues) and the beach is not available ( very small) . Missing ping pong table.
Lovely room and very clean
Premium swim up room is above the bar that plays music till 1am. Staff were hit and miss. Food was average, nothing standout. Very hard sellers on their time share, with rude sales team.
Cleanliness, staff, service, size, drinks, availability of food choices, pools, safety. The staff really hustled and they were very friendly.
Wish there was a beach. Fitting in a decent time to eat at the 2 reservation restaurants. See your concierge as soon as possible . Sitting with a group more than 6 was a big deal for them. It did work out in the end.
Die Hotelanlage liegt abgelegen und für uns war das positiv
Well kept property. Rooms were great and amenities. Great decor in the restaurants.
Staff was unfriendly and not good. Coffee shop attendant was on her phone texting. Server in Italian restaurant was slow and unmotivated. We were the first ones to eat so its not like it was crowded.
Prestine resort with an exceptiknal staff that makes you feel like family.
No beach. High pressure do go to a "sales brunch" for 1+ hour so they can try to sell you a 30k time share.
It was bright and beautiful
I would like it easier to make reservations for dinner
Breakfast was good, lunch was good at the license to chill bar and also the daily 1pm lunch is good. Dinner at the restaurants is mediocre apart from the Italian. Best food for dinner is the Italian imo. Room was good and clean - the TVs are smart but the hotel don’t allow you to connect to mirror your phone so you have to pay to watch movies on the tv which is not acceptable based on the cost of the hotel. Day time entertainment was good - very up beat.
Evening entertainment not much too do, only the land shark is open till 1am which only play rock music. There is no house music, jazz or up beat bars. As the hotel is pretty remote you can’t walk anywhere unfortunately. You have to get a cab to Cancun for later entertainment cab is around £30 there £50 back
This is a smaller resort, which we loved. Even though it was full, it rarely felt crowded and we never really waited for any service. As a family resort, they do a good job of providing spaces that suit both kids and adults. The staff were so pleasant and helpful. Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean and had a beautiful view. There was a nice variety of food and the quality quite good and consistent. The tacos are a standout. The activities and events staff were particularly great. We had a wonderful feast on the beach for Christmas - delicious!
DO NOT book your excursion with Ruta Maya (the company the resort uses). We visited Tulum, a cenotes and swam with turtles. The activities themselves were fine, but our guide and driver were grumpy and seemed bored with the whole process. At the resort it would be great if there were a few more onsite activity options and a bit more sports equipment that was accessible and in good condition. People should know the beach is still covered in seaweed. This is not the resort's fault, and they work tirelessly to clean it up, but travelers should know the beach is not ideal.
Joe merchants- we used to be able to get all sorts of chocolates, coffee with our points. Now you can only get drinks and chips. I don’t need 1750 points to get that. I won’t use the points at all. There are no sweets to be had. We heard there is new management, it is terrible. I will not be coming back nor will I recommend it to anyone else!
Beach Is non-existent - no easy access though we saw 2 people from the resort in the ocean. It is ostensibly impossible to even walk the shore. We did hear they plan some kind of reclamation in the next months but this will be a formidable task due to unrelenting climate change/rising seas levels and random hurricanes. Any photos you see of sand, loungers or palapas are seriously out of date. They do have a number of labourers daily raking and sieving sea grass or whatever the plant material is and wheelbarrowing it off site to keep it from piling up and rotting against the sea wall. Think Sisyphus rolling a boulder uphill. Grounds and facilities are exceptionally clean and well maintained. Kudos to all the hard working people behind the scene that keep the resort so pristine. Garbage and leftover foods must be disposed of continuously as we only saw a couple of flies, bugs and very few birds looking for opportunities to snag food. However, there were 2 days we were treated to pervasive sewage smells around the 5 o'clock Somewhere bar/west side of the resort. Restaurants - there are no a la carte breakfast locations. Room service is available 24 hours. The one time we used room service for a very simple order of two items, their scheduled delivery time of 20 minutes was off by almost 1/2 hour and the order we received was incorrect. There are 6 places to eat. The Boathouse - Buffet Great ambiance. Generally, there is good service. Our only issues were with the toasters which for the most part wouldn't toast - the conveyor belt wouldn't brown your bread no matter where you twist the dial (or brown only one side) which leaves a single 2 slice toaster for the entire buffet crowd. The second issue for us was that you have to stand in line to get to the omelet preparers in order to ask for bacon which they then distribute. We only ate breakfast there and can't attest to lunch or dinner offerings or service. JWB Steakhouse Reservations are recommended but we found they can usually accommodate walk-ins within an hour. The standard meat menu (no additional cost) is limited. The sirloin, while on the thin side, is usually done to perfection. The shrimp cocktail is excellent. Jimmy is a friendly and helpful server. 8 out of 10. There are some major disconnects between the Karisma Hotel website menu and the on-site scanned menu - for example the Karisma Hotel website shows 4 cuts of beef including a tenderloin but the QR code scanned menu only shows one - the sirloin and all other cuts are additional payments. Frank and Lola's Italian Restaurant. Reservations are recommended but we found they can usually accommodate walk-ins within an hour. Edwin is an excellent server. Eddy is in charge of the pizza oven and baking. He is a performing artist and a pleasure to watch his preparation of the pizza dough and the baking of the wood fired pizzas. These are some of the best pizzas we have ever eaten. 10 out 0f 10 rating. We recommend the leek soup, the chicken parmesan, the salmon, the cannoli and tiramisu. Edwin puts on a photo worthy show of preparing the sauces for the cannoli and tiramisu. A special thanks also to Oscar, the head chef, for preparing excellent meals. License to Chill Grill and Bar- lunch only - pub food such as hamburgers and hot dogs - outdoor dining only - the food arrives warm - think the temperature of a Costco hot dog. Landshark (sports bar and pub)- lunch and dinner - same menu - some live entertainment in the evenings - essentially pub food - usually very busy and service can be slow at peak times. The Landshark brewery serves up a couple of good micro brews. Roberto went the extra mile - I asked for a glass of milk which they don't stock but he ordered a glass from room service delivered to the restaurant. Thank you Roberto. Joe Merchant and Provisions - coffee shop and consumables - you get water only in your room mini-fridge and you "purchase" beer, pop, chips and chocolate bars with a generous allocation of points you receive at check-in and are deducted via your wrist room key. The coffee shop is mostly understaffed from morning to closing, definite English language deficiencies and the hot liquid cup lids are not always well secured by the staff - check your cup lids! The staff have not been especially friendly nor accommodating and are definitely not good ambassadors for the Karisma/Margaritaville brand. The coffee shop has a very negative vibe with no welcoming greeting nor wishes for a good day or evening or even a thank you. They have no bags if you wish to take a number of items and will pile your items onto a very small plate/saucer - Jenga style. We were flatly refused when we asked if we could have a cup in which to take a number of cookies back to the room. We did experience much rudeness from the coffee shop staff and did report our complaints to the front desk while still at the hotel. These issues as mentioned were elevated to the front desk and we did let front desk know that the coffee shop was a topic of conversation around the pool and not in a good way. This is about the only resort we have been to in which ice cream isn't being offered at the coffee shop (you get it at the buffet). None of the bars or restaurants offer coffee or tea with or after meals so if you are a non alcoholic drinker only water is available with your meals also with the coffee shop shutting down coffee/tea service at 9:30pm, your coffee/tea fix is limited to room service. It is a tad misleading that posted shop hours are to 10:00 pm but only point products and paid products are offered from 9:30pm to 10:00 pm. Coffee shop hours are not indicated on the front doors of the shop. I must say we have done a lot of travelling to Mexico, Jamaica, St Martin and the Dominican Republic and the coffee shop at this resort has been by far the worst we have even encountered. Pools 4 pools all of which are under used and quiet with the exception of the 5 o'clock main pool which plays mellow music until noon and then things liven up with water aerobics, games and much louder more contemporary music. Great enthusiastic and energetic staff. We found no shortage of towels. There are a number of spots on the pool floor where the top coat of concrete product - about 1/2 thick - has broken up and delaminated. The pieces are somewhat like stepping on a Leggo brick. Our understanding is that repair work is scheduled in the coming weeks. Rooms with swim outs link to two of the quieter pools. The pools are not heated which was fine with us however a number of older clients were not happy with the cooler water and also were concerned about getting cuts on the feet from the broken tiles/concrete that were not covered by the mats. Smoking 2 official spots - one out front of the main lobby and one in the rear right hand corner behind the Landshark. Unofficially on your balcony but be respectful if you neighbours are using their balconies. Bars No Cointreau, Drambuie or Grand Marnier so no Rusty Nails. They have bourbon in the main lobby bar - the Salted Rim - if Old Fashioned are requested. Rafael and Orlando make a dynamite Brandy Alexander and Old Fashioned and Luis is such a friendly server always giving an infectious smile. The 5 O'clock Somewhere swim up and land side bars have friendly and very hardworking staff. The SOS pool bar, Landshark and Licence to Chill Bar round out the bars. Despite our Joe Merchant experience, all other issues are fairly minor and we are considering another visit at Easter.
Clean rooms, buffet was delicious, staff was attentive. Even though we stayed one night only, we were offered the ability to stay after check out and use the pools etc.
no beach access - no beach at all!
This place is a complete disappointment and absolutely does not deserve a 5-star rating. The food was terrible—low quality, poorly prepared, and overpriced. The staff were rude, dismissive, and acted like guests were an inconvenience rather than customers. Service was consistently bad, and basic hospitality was nonexistent. For what they charge, this hotel is a joke. I regret staying here and will never come back. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Terrible experience. The food was cold and took over an hour to arrive. Staff were rude and unhelpful, and the service was awful. Definitely not a 5-star hotel—won’t be coming back.
Luis, Gibran, Angel,Rafael, Victor! Margaritaville Riviara Maya Cancun! Great laid back location! You make your own experience!
The resort is perfet. Everyone is kind here and the animators are exceptionnel. Especially, Angel and I think Yoni they were so kind. The food is pretty good too and for your money, it's really worth it. I had the best days there in Margaritaville.
Very great experience, super friendly staff. We had so much fun at the lobby bar with Gibran, Orlando, Luis, Victor and Rafael, they made us new cocktails every night and gave us a perfect service.
It was amazing!!! Angel(Orlando), Gibran,Luis,Victor and Rafael The best bartenders i have ever seen!! Thanks you guys for those Nights i will remember!!
Very nice room and private pool.
Weird American tipping culture. No beach. Private pool often had bugs floating. Not all restaurants open every night.
Yoni from entertainment was amazing! He brought the energy and made every event memorable. Volleyball, Zumba, and other activities were a blast thanks to yoni!
We spent 8 days in December, and it was our first time there. I really like the design and decor of the hotel. Rooms were very nice with a walk in shower, and we had a gorgeous patio with a parrot mural on the wall, chairs, and hammock with colorful pillows. The vibe is very Key West with the turquoise and white colors. The room mini fridge is only stocked with bottles of water. You get points to use at the store for beer, soda, and snacks. I have seen several complaints about this, but it was fine for us. We don’t drink sodas, but my husband did get a couple cans of beer and tiny bags of snacks. Next time I would bring my own snacks. Food was hit or miss. We didn’t go to the buffet for breakfast, since we love ordering breakfast from room service, which was great. The presentation was lovely. We loved the salads (excellent passion fruit vinaigrette), burgers, and fish with risotto at Landshark. The Italian restaurant was good. I liked the carbonara and the Saltimbocca was fine. We only went to the buffet on Asian night, which was typical buffet food. They did serve lunch a few days outside the buffet. We went to the beachside grill once and had decent tacos. Our least favorite restaurant was the steakhouse. Next time I will just skip it. Menu offers beef tenderloin which they did not have both nights we went. They substituted flank steak, which was not good. You can pay to get a better grade of steak. Reservations are required for the steakhouse and Italian restaurants. The entertainment team did a good job at the pool with games, volleyball, blackjack, and poker. We enjoyed playing blackjack. Not as much evening entertainment as other places we have stayed. I wish they had live music in the lobby bar. Service was excellent throughout the hotel, and tips were truly appreciated. I would definitely return, since we got a very reasonable price. Just note, if you are a beach person there is no beach. We knew this when we booked, because I always read reviews on this site prior to booking.
Amazing entertainment schedule even for an adult only resort, loved Yoni and Angel out there everyday giving their 100%, and also loved the butlers service shoutout to Joaquin and Karen always doing their best to comply to our requests.
The facilities were very clean and well kept. The staff and service were phenomenal. The Spa was the highlight of our trip. The Santa Ritual was the best! The staff got our reservation wrong so they added a facial at no charge. I highly recommend the hydrotherapy. The reason for the 3 is the food. It was terrible with the exception of the Poolside grill.
Absolutely love this resort So clean, so fun and all the restaurants have amazing food! Cannot lie - we spend most of our time at the Salted Rim because the team there takes such great care of us and makes the environment so welcoming and creates a vibe that is just non stop fun! Special shout out to the guys Gibran, Angel, Luis, Rafael and Victor! Never an empty glass or a night without laughs! We love Margaritaville! I think you will too
WARNING. We booked a 10 day trip to the resort. Our flight was cancelled and we were unable to get another flight for 3 days. We made the mistake of accepting the repeated requests from Margaritaville To check in on line. Little did we know that by doing so we forfieted our $4225.00 we paid for the hotel. We checked in, on line, a day before our original flight. I reached out to the hotel the day our flight was cancelled to see what our next steps would be. NO RESPONSE FROM THE HOTEL AT ALL. Left messages with no response We were finally able to get a response from the hotel,5 DAYS LATER. And were told we were a no show and that because we checked in on line we do not get any of our money refunded!!! Thanking Margaritaville for such Christmas Spirit and actually caring about their customers. NOT!!! We are a senior couple on a budget and save for our trips yearly this is a significant wrong doing by the hotel and hotel staff no compassion at all. Worst hotel experience in outer 65 years of travel. STAY AWAY
EL HOTEL ES MUY LINDO, EL PERSONAL ESTA SIEMPRE ATENTO A LAS NECESIDADES DE LAS PERSONAS.
ME FALTO LA PLAYA
Have had the opportunity to go to this resort twice in the last two years. It has only been open a few years and everything was excellent. From our private butler, in room dinner, spa treatments, restaurants and bar service. We have been members for over ten years highly recommended this resort. The only down side is this is not the resort to go to if you our a beach person as recent hurricanes have damaged beach property, but don’t worry the pool and pool bar service make up for this. All ready booked for this coming April. Can’t wait to get back. Richard and Elisabet
The whole experience was amazing, from check in with Alejandro to excursion recommendations from Nacho to dance lesson from Dennis and Mariel. We would come back over and over!
A beautiful resort, with great staff! Griselda and Laura were amazing! It makes it a lot more fun when the staff is having fun with us! I was surprised by how good the food was also.
The bartenders were amazing and very creative. So personal. We look forward to seeing them every night. We enjoyed them all! Gibran, Luis, Victor, Orlando, Angel, Rafael.
I have visited this resort before and it is still one of my favs! I love this resort for a few reasons. -Small enough to walk around -Activities at night and during the day by the pool are great -People have mixed views about the food, but I would definitely give it a 4 out of 10 -Plenty of pool areas and lots of lounge chairs -Great decorated, clean rooms -The carrot cake and wings at Landshark This resort is great for those who want a little relaxation and decent number of options for activities but do not want a large resort. You will have to be okay with a quaint resort with 5 restaurants, with 2 of them you have to make reservations for dinner and 3 that are not open for lunch, and only one restaurant for breakfast. There is 24-hour room service, a lobby bar, and 2 pool bars with a made to order grill with good food. If you travel with someone that doesn't or can't ambulate far, this adults-only all-inclusive resort is perfect. And the greatest staff! Isaac, Izri, Ruth, Eugenio, Erick, Gambino, Roberto, Fidel, Baldo; Javier at Frank and Lola's; Abel in Concierge; Reyes by the pool; Carlos, Eleazar, Jessica, and Leonarda at the spa (book with Leonarda for a massage!!!!); and Quetzal who had the most amazing personality and just talked to the guests (and endured and professionally handled the overly nice conversations from the male guests). I will return, next time with a group!
Been at this resort for a few days. It's wonderful, as expected. But what really stands out is the staff. They are constantly going above and beyond to make my stay superb. BIG SHOUT OUT to Grisel. I've seen her in multiple restaurants/bars. She is amazing, friendly hard working, always will to help in any way. Thanks Grisel, ur make my holiday perfect!
We booked our honeymoon with TUI in good faith, choosing a Karisma-managed 5-star resort for what we hoped would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. What we received was a bait-and-switch, not once, but twice — culminating in a last-minute reassignment to a completely different hotel with no comparable amenities and zero consultation. Upon arrival, we discovered multiple promised features were unavailable. The new hotel was undergoing renovations, the service was subpar, and no senior management was available over the entire Christmas period to address any concerns. Apparently, five-star status doesn’t come with five-day-a-week management. We raised the alarm early and repeatedly. TUI stalled for weeks. We requested clarification. We were ignored. We requested transparency. We were deflected. The only response? A £800 “gesture of goodwill” — on a holiday that cost over £6,000 and was meant to be our honeymoon. We documented every step: the sudden management change notification, the downgrade, the lack of accountability, and the follow-up silence. Our formal complaint was met with vague platitudes and no meaningful resolution. We will now be escalating this through legal channels and public forums, and have included this experience in a forthcoming nonfiction book on corporate accountability. Let this serve as a warning: when you book with TUI, your holiday may not be what you paid for — and if something goes wrong, they may simply hope you go away.
Property was clean.
Location.
Our first visit to Mexico. We are Karisma Hotels and Margaritaville Resort users but our first visit to this resort. The facilities and especially the staff were all first rate. The butlers, concierge and servers made our vacation all the more enjoyable.
We took a chance on Margaritaville Island Reserve without any recommendations from friends when I found it on a deal site, and Wow, am I glad! The Resort is a nice size for us, not too big, and our week (Dec 8-15) was fairly quiet, less than ¼ capacity. Canadian-heavy this week as well … might have been the snow at home (works for us!) RESORT We had our pick of the many poolside chairs & umbrellas, and there was no need to ‘save’ or get up early for great spots. The many pools gave everyone room to spread out, and it was a nice mix of Busy/Active (5’oclock somewhere area) to laid back & relaxed (S.O.S bar area). The water was cool, but we did have some rain off and on over the week, which kept the sun from warming it as much as I might have liked. The resort was Laid out well, with the different food options and bars spaced out. Two Towel-huts and a supply at the 5’0clock bar kept everyone happy, and multiple elevators, and ramps in the pool area made everything accessible (great when Hubby’s knee went out and he needed to use a cane) We Did not get to spend any time at the ‘the salted rim’, as the first 5 days of our trip, the entire Lobby was flooded with the Powerful , Cloying Stench of Flowers, chemically piped in as …air freshener? I don’t know, maybe it was a guest deterrent, lol. It certainly kept us away! I mentioned it at the desk to a few people, and did note that by checkout day, the scent had cleared. Co-incidence? Or maybe they took the comments to heart. As noted in other reviews, the whole area was hit by a storm a few years ago that washed away the Beach.. Currently, this is an ocean-view, but pool-only resort. If you Need sand with your sea, this is not the place for you,…for now. They’re working to clean up the area, but there is some decomposing seaweed in the old beach area still being removed, which can have a smell if you close enough. Didn’t bother us at all STAFF Everyone was very nice (less one guy ‘hosting’ at the breakfast buffet who clashed with hubby) and very accommodating. BIG Thanks to SERGIO , our bartender at S.O.S our week, for keeping our drinks as filled and fresh as we’d let him. 5 STAR treatment! Though we didn’t a chance to work much with our ‘personal concierge’ Febe, there was one wonderful concierge every time I went in the hut who went over & above for us, even getting our auto-closet light disconnected mid week when I commented it was annoying. Wish I’d gotten her name! Other great staff I want to mention , Marcello, Gerardo, Hernando, Luis, Jesus & all the fabulous ladies of ‘Joe’s Merchants’ that kept us full of Latte’s & Borregas(sp?) all week ! FOOD Omg, I think I put on 10 pounds, and my husband came home telling me (for the first time ever) he’d had enough Shrimp, ribs and wings to tied him over for a bit. THAT never happens. The food was so Amazing, we couldn’t help but over indulge. The buffet was pretty good (not open for lunch) but the “Pop-up” always had the best stuff, and Landshark was a winner! We booked into the steakhouse twice (I'm not a fan of Italian) and it was fabulous both times. When we were feeling peckish, we stopped by the ‘license to chill’ or feasted on pastries & snacks from ‘Joe Merchant’. ENTERTAINMENT We were there to relax, so while I could hear the active stuff going on at the 5’oclock somewhere pool, we didn’t participate. We did stop and landshark for some Karaoke , and caught the Mexican show at the buffet. We watched some mixology & cooking classes , and hung around while others joined the Texas hold ‘em games. There were also a band & a country trio we didn’t manage to catch. ROOM We had the King Paradise Suite – a luxury to be sure. It was nicely appointed with a sofa & coffee table aside from the King Bed, and each room has it’s own Minibar with fridge, & coffee maker. The coffee & accessories are provided, but you stock your own bar with complementary snacks, pop & beer from ‘Joe Merchant’ with a points-system. (They’re generous with the points, but you USED to be able to buy bottles of liquor with your points to stock your bar. Sadly, no more. Now your options are pop, beer & snacks… even though the store sells a wide assortment of products you may want (booze, coffee, energy drinks)). There are plenty of comfortable pillows, yet the bed itself was as soft as a marshmallow…Not something I could comfortably sleep on, and both sides were quite body-dented with the only comfortable spot being in the center, where it is rarely slept on. The Walk in shower with rain spout was great, and having a separate toilet stall was a good idea, however the made it small like the stalls throughout the resort (aside from one accessible one in each area), where you practically need to straddle the toilet to close the door. The closet has a sensor to turn the light on…nice feature, but unfortunately the way the door slats were angled, the sensor ‘sees’ you even with the door closed, causing the light to go anytime you go near (ie to the bathroom in the night). Bright lights at 3am, not fun, and there is no switch – but they CAN shut it off I found out, so ask for it if you have an issue. They are happy to fix your concern All in all this was a great trip, and we will definitely find time to return!
Grisel at the Land Shark was so nice and friendly! Also Laura was very friendly as well! would recommend :) Great service
Grisel and Laura at the landshark was amazing! She is so lovely and kind. Also very helpful! Would definitely ask for her :)
Amazing experience with Grisel lamdshark bar. Will keep coming if she stays here. She is the best worker here and deserves a raise for the love she has towards customers.
Mariel and Angel are so much fun to be around and did an amazing job with the entertainment. First Solo trip and it was the fun in Margaritaville.
We really enjoyed our 7 night stay at this resort. The entertainment staff works really hard. Shout out to Angel, Dennis, Marielle and Johnny for making our vacation more fun! The rooms are very nice and the staff here are incredible. We enjoyed the buffets and the Italian restaurant was amazing! Apart from having no beach area, this resort was still worth visiting!
Amazing visit to Margaritaville!! Higinio and Baldo are the kindest and most attendant servers at the LandShark Restaurant! We had the best time daily with them, they really took care of us. Highly recommend!
Best resort I have ever been to, the food was high quality and burn your mouth hot! The drinks were strong, pools, restaurants were spotless! Carlos at the front desk was an amazing help!
Having to leave
Our experience at this hotel was amazing. The entire hotel and rooms are immaculately clean and well looked after as well as being beautiful. The staff really made this trip for us, there isn’t enough they can do for you. Everyone is so friendly and fun. Special shout outs to our house keeper Leo who kept our room spotless our entire 2 week stay. Laura in the landshark who made every evening fantastic and is an absolute sweetheart! Marcelo in the boathouse at breakfast kept the mimosas flowing and couldn’t do enough for us. Carmen and all the lovely ladies in Joe merchants who made amazing coffees and were always happy to help/advise in anyway and always with a smile! Our waiter around the pool who unfortunately I cannot remember his name (jet lag is a b****) but young/tall around the main pool who taught us about charro negros and kept the drinks coming all day every day! The entire entertainment staff who had us laughing all day (especially Mariel and Angel). With the food we found the majority to be great. Breakfast in both the boathouse and room service was fantastic. Lunch at either landshark or licence to chill was great. The only time we ever struggled was at dinner but it was more in the Italian and steakhouse as we found the food was made for the American palate so could at times be slightly too salty/sweet and very rich but at no time was anything not enjoyable or bad. Overall we can say this is the best holiday we have had so far, was a great intro the Mexico for us as we fell in love with the area and the people. Would highly recommend to anyone!
Dennis and angel with the entertainment were great with teaching us salsa. Perfect adult get away! 10/10 would recommend
Dennis and Angel did great and were super fun. They made it easy to follow and enjoy it. Would recommend anyone join them for a quick and fun moment to remember.
Just returned from an incredible 10-day stay at Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya (Adults Only), and once again this resort exceeded expectations. One of the very highlights of our trip was dining at Frank & Lola’s italian restaurant several nights throughout our vacation. A huge thank you to Gabriel, our server, and Juan Carlos, the manager, who went above and beyond every evening to ensure our meals were perfect. Their attention to detail and genuine care made us feel so special. Eddy also deserves recognition as his pizza, ravioli, and focaccia bread are absolutely delicious. Breakfasts and dinners at The Boathouse were another standout. Noel and Eddie consistently went the extra mile to make our mornings special, including bringing a beautiful fruit plate to our table each day. Sergio, the chef during Boathouse dinners, is both a wonderful person and a fantastic cook. He always took the time to explain the buffet options and made incredible stir-fry dishes customized exactly how you want with your choice of meat, vegetables, sauce, pasta, sides, etc. His teriyaki chicken is some of the best that I’ve ever had and this is coming from someone who loves teriyaki chicken lol. One small piece of feedback for The Boathouse would be to add more fresh fruit options, especially berries like raspberries and blueberries, which have been available during our past stays. We also missed having fruit available on the dinner buffet and feel that would be a great addition. Having fresh fruit available throughout an all inclusive stay is important to me and a lot of travelers. Lunch at License to Chill: the cheeseburgers were delicious and made for a perfect meal between pool time. Loved sitting with Noel and Gabino. We also dined at JWB’s Steakhouse. While the sides and desserts were good, the steak was unfortunately very chewy and gristly, and the service was not on par with the rest of the resort. Our evenings were often spent at the Landshark Brewery, which we absolutely love. We’d stop by each night for a small dessert and to enjoy the entertainment. The DJ sessions and karaoke nights were so much fun. A big shout-out to our servers Laura, who is incredibly sweet, and Ricky, who is always fun and engaging to talk with. I hope the resort brings back s’mores nights at the fire pit next to Landshark, as that was always a highlight of previous trips. We also enjoyed drinks at The Salted Rim with the purple Free Soul martini being hands-down my favorite. The frappes at Joe Merchant’s were exactly how I like them - icy and cold and so flavorful, which was such a refreshing treat in the heat and humidity. Carmen deserves a very special shout-out for always being so kind and welcoming. I’d love to see Joe Merchant’s bring back Dr. Pepper and more snack options. Housekeeping was absolutely flawless. I am very picky about cleanliness, and the room was kept totally spotless. Huge thanks to Juliana, our housekeeper, for her excellent work. My very sincere appreciation goes to Johan, one of the Island Ambassadors on staff. From the moment we arrived, he made our stay feel truly special. He would often walk with us to dinner and we loved chatting with him during that time. He is kind, friendly, and clearly dedicated to making every guest feel welcome and cared for. The entertainment crew was outstanding and brought so much energy and life to the resort. Mariel, Angel, Dennis, and Juan were all fantastic. Mariel and Angel greeted us daily and were incredibly sweet. Dennis led amazing water workout classes, and it was Juan’s very first week on the job! Juan was so sweet and will fit in perfectly. Music trivia by the pool was a blast, and we absolutely loved the newly added bracelet-making classes. I met so many great people at these classes and came home with cute handmade souvenirs. I hope they continue in the future (and I would really love to see more bead and string options!). Finally, Sergio also deserves recognition for always checking in on us at the pool to see if we needed drinks. He was so easy to talk to and made our pool days even better. Loved the music out by the pool, except for the one afternoon they played 100% country music. Overall, this resort is a 5/5 experience, and we cannot wait to return. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so wonderful and for giving the Margaritaville spirit from beginning to end. 🌴🍹
Wonderful experience and what a great vibe coming from Angel and Carlos!!!! The duo make for a great time also the bartenders Ivan and Andres by the pool were very nice!!!
Had a great time. Weather was perfect. The entire staff (especially Karen and Joaquin personal butlers) were exceptional. The resort was extremely clean and food was very good.
Resort is very nice. Gardens and grounds beautiful. Special shout out to our amazing butlers Karen and Joaquin they made everything special. Only disappointment was no beach however we made the best of it with all the pool activities. Rooms very clean.
Went here with my best friend & had an amazing time. The staff goes above & beyond to make your stay enjoyable! The resort is very clean & small & beautiful. A few shout outs to some made our stay extra special; Our butlers - Karen R. & Joaquin…anything we needed they were there ❤️ Angelia our concierge was very attentive. Waiters: Erick, Marcelo & Gabino @ The Boathouse, Andi @ Frank & Lola’s, Angel & JWB Steakhouse, all the staff @ Landshark… you were all outstanding! Reyes our pool waiter always made sure our drinks were full & cold 🍹Gibron @ Salted Rim, wow what a mixologist you are & loved the Mocha Martinis…yum! Last but not least, Ana at St. Somewhere spa provided the best relaxing massage! Thank you all for making our trip so memorable. Can’t wait to come back! See you again soon Feb. 2026 😎🍹
So far very unimpressed. Unfriendly check in. No cocktail waiting. Hard to communicate with staff. Hungry and they pointed me in the direction of a restaurant for tacos and there isn’t even tacos on the menu. Stood waiting for someone to acknowledge and seat me for about 5 minutes. Still waiting for my food after 30 minutes.
Started ok. The restaraunts were ok. The bartenders were inconsistent with the drinks. My 1st drink was a tequila sunrise. It tasted like rubbing alcohol. I felt like the room was spinning after 1/2 of a drink. They water down the liquor with methanol. Jack Daniel’s came out yellow instead of dark caramel. Baileys poured like water instead of a creamy liquor. Anything corked or on tap was fine. We broke down and went to the liquor store to buy our liquor for the week. Even though we paid for all inclusive. Multiple bug bites on the 4 of us all week. Cockroaches inside and outside the rooms. The air-conditioning was screwed up in the one room and it was condensation all over the floor and the interior door, even though they tried to fix it. They never offered to change rooms. It felt like we were in a retirement home. This is the big one! Their website shows a gorgeous beach and we had nothing but muddy water and black salt and seaweed the whole entire week up and down the coastline. It smelled like sewage!
We just got back from our amazing trip to Margaritaville. The staff was AWESOME and so friendly. Huge shout out to our amazing bartenders and servers Pancho, Domingo, Noel, Luis, and Rogelio. They were so friendly, offering suggestions and special shots. They knew us by name and had our drinks ready when they saw us coming. Always with big smiles on their faces. Rogelio always had a table ready for us at Landshark and the buffet. And the activity crew were SO FUNNY! This is the first resort where I actually participated in the activities and had a blast. The morning Zumba, music trivia, and volleyball games with staff were so memorable. HUGE SHOUTOUT to Angel, Denis, and Mariel ! They are so hilarious, warm and made our trip. They created such a fun atmosphere and were so personable. We would go back in a heartbeat just to hang out with them again. -Love Jacob, Kayla, Melissa, and Logan (The Avengers)
Had a salsa class with Angel & Quetzel from the entertainment team and it’s amazing. It was fun for a first time dancer. They were amazing and the Karoake was awesome!! Thanks for making it so fun guys!
We would like to start by saying that all the staff are fantastic. Special shout out to our butler's Karen and Joaquin, Gabriel, Angel from Animation, staff at the Landshark and many more. The resort is small so you really interact with the same staff all the time. Rooms were great and comfortable. The hotel is still fairly new so everything is in top top shape. Any request we had was immediately addressed. We are Prestige members and the check in process was great. We even got to pick our scents for the room and soaps for the body and face. That was an expected fun experience. There is no beach due to hurricane damage but they are working on getting it back. There's really no place to stroll outside the resort so we went to Playa del Carmen by taxi, it was 57usd one way. The entertainment at the Landshark was fantastic, great music and karaoke nights. There's quite a bit of things to do throughout the day at the main pool but also quiet pools to just relax. The food was pretty good. If we had some recommendations for the resort it would be to add a hot tub, Prestige lounge and the store Joe Merchants to stay open till 10pm at least, more staff at the lobby bar, ice cream at the coffee shop, and more variety with the snack options that we get with resort credits. It would also be nice to have an approximate time period when the beach will be done. There should be a shuttle offered to the nearest beach and Playa del Carmen since there's nothing to do outside the area of the resort and no beach. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it.
This resort is very nice, but the beach is terrible. Actually there is no beach and it was disappointing. However, I had a great experience with Baldo at the Landshark restaurant. He was so kind and helpful and welcoming. It made the trip even better when there was someone who goes out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful stay. I hope Margaritaville appreciates employees like this who go above and beyond.
First, the resort is located short distance from the Cancun airport which we really appreciated. The grounds, pools, the gardens and the rooms were immaculate; we give a 10 for cleanliness. The two à la carte restaurants offered a wide choice of food which was delicious and hot. The Boathouse restaurant was spacious but the food was mostly cool; the only thing hot is if you want an omelette cooked to your likings. Our waiter, Gabino, was very friendly and attentive to our needs; we never ran out of coffee and he made sure that we had our « special cream » for our coffees. He deserves a rating of 10. Our room maid, Mauricio, was very efficient and kept our room very clean, he was very attentive to details. His rating is a 10. We want to give a BIG THANK YOU to Mariel and Dennis. They kept everyone active at the pool with different activities. They were very friendly and always had a smile. Their rating is an « 10 ». The only negative point that we can mention is the lack of entertainment at night. They need to up that as it doesn’t really reflect the Jimmy Buffet attitude that we were expecting.
Whole experience has been incredible and Sergio pool waiter has been amazing thank you so much ❤️ will come back again soon
Everything was wonderful and are going back next year! Sure hope they have the beach back by then. That was the only disappointment as we are Beach Addicts!!! But pool area is beautiful, activities fun and something for everyone! Our Butlers Karen and Joaquin were beyond helpful way. From restrauant reservations to towels ready in our chosen lounge chairs, along with coffee room service every morning, nothing was forgotten. We travel with a service dog and they helped us work thru the challenge for us of Mexico not being actual service dog friendly as of yet. But I feel confident that next year when we come back they will have shared what we needed to be able To enjoy our vacation in comparable experiences with everyone else who does not have that challenge!! A true service dog does not cause as much disruption as many people, nor messes!!!! Thanks to the staff there for understanding that after meeting our Lacey!! Nothing but kindness to us was everywhere!! Thank you for a simply wonderful feeling of being on vacation!!!
Great service. Good food. Great facilities. Thanks to Ruben our server. He made our days easier
Lovely rooms, well laid out and very comfortable. Plenty of space to store items so you can keep it nice and tidy. The cleaners were efficient and effective everyday, just be sure to hit the switch at the door that marks the room as ready for cleaning. The staff at the resort are amazing, super friendly from Sergio the evening fry cook who ends up giving everyone he meets a pet name (mine was commandante). from Isme, Maria, and Daniel the day time Bar staff who were always happy to fetch drinks, come back with a smile, chatty, and friendly to Gabino and Carlos the morning and evening waiters at the buffet who always did their best to make sure you never went without a drink (coffee, or other). Love them all. Overall most of the noise quietens down by 17:00-18:00 most of the partying happens during the day. It does suffer from having nowhere to really escape for some peace and quiet as overall the resort is quite small. With 4-5 restaurants, your evening options for a meal are a bit limited especially as 2 of them you need to book in advance. This alleviated by good room service, and the fact the buffet has multiple theme nights so there always feels like there plenty of variety. Breakfast, however does feel a little medium, pretty samey, decent enough but if you want an omelette get there early or be prepared to queue. Atmosphere is a chilled resort with a bit of a party atmosphere, so its a nice mix of both worlds without being massively overwhelming. As for location, the ocean view is lovely but be warned, the beach washed away in a hurricane last year, and the stairs to ocean were washed away this year in a hurricane, they are working with the Mexican government to solve this..... buuuut it will be a while, I would be interested in returning in the future to see how this develops. Overall, I had a great time, its a resort not without problems, but the staff are lovely, the service is excellent, and the cocktails plentiful. If youre looking for a place with a bit of a party atmosphere, and but also some quiet evenings to relax. I highly reccomend.
Let me just start by saying we live in Jalisco MX, near Guadalajara, so my experiences will be based upon a pretty good understanding of life here. Rented a car at the Cancún airport because we had planned to go to XCaret (which was awesome) so after a short 25 min drive down the Carretera and some signage problems, we arrived and checked in. Great experience in the beautiful lobby and we’re taken to our room. Room was clean and appointed with all the expected Margaritaville touches. Rather than having a filled mini bar, they offered a store with chips, soda and beer on a points system. Liquor, sports drinks, green tea and candy was at an extra cost. Buffett dinner in the Boathouse was good, although many of the serving dishes were empty, some items were cold. Pool side the music was I describe as Gen Z wedding reception/ night club. NOT beach/ poolside Buffett themed. Only good available outside for lunch was a small buffet or the taco bar. Great food but very limiting over 7 days. The Landshark food was good, but when I wanted to take my order to the cabana we had, I was stopped by a staffer saying it wasn’t permitted. Drinks were inconsistent from one bar to another, even at the same bar. I had three different rum runner daiquiris that I watched being made with different ingredients each time. The two reservation requested restaurants were very good, service was slow and my meals were both delivered cold. Our 31 st anniversary dinner was very good at Frank and Lola’s Italian restaurant. However at 5M the next morning we both became violently ill and were room bound the entire day, missing thanksgiving. Understaffed and over worked servers and bartenders were the most glaring shortcomings.
Hotel is nice and clean. Loved the butlers assigned to us, Joaquin and Karen really went out of their way to make us feel special and that our needs were met. Food at the restaurants was very good!
When I arrived early in the morning, I was told my reservation was somehow made for a different property owned by the same company. I asked them to correct it, and they told me they would take care of it. Instead, they kept me waiting from 8 AM until 9 PM — only to finally say there was nothing they could do and that I needed to cancel the reservation and rebook. If they had simply told me that from the beginning, it would have saved me an entire wasted day of sitting in the lobby. All they offered during those hours was water — no food, no real assistance, nothing. It was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful of my time. On top of that, after checking in, I became physically sick. My skin turned red, and painful bubbles/blisters appeared all over my body. I arrived completely healthy, and this happened only after being at the hotel. It made my stay miserable and honestly alarming. Overall, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. Poor communication, complete lack of customer care, and health concerns on top of everything. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Resort is new and fresh and the swim up room we had was great. The service is amazing out butlers Karen and Joaquin were outstanding and helped us sort things we didn’t even know we needed sorting :) Dinner reservations , pool chair reservation, morning coffee, spa menus etc etc. Marchello and Erik in the restaurant were also outstanding for their breakfast service. They literally wouldn’t let us carry a plate up 3 steps without dashing to help. Amazing job. Then the land shark inn all the car tenders were great they helped keep everyone going at all times. The entertainers were also really good and I mean really!! Normally they are a bit naff at an all inclusive but these were amazing.
Hotel over all was very clean and friendly staff however food and drink quality requires improvement. there is no beach but we knew this prior to booking. The water has a sewage smell to it. We couldn't get booked into the restaurants after a fuss we managed to get the steak house the last night of our stay and what a disappointment. The Steak house presentation was nice but the steak was fatty and chewy. Check out is a joke, we were charged for things we never watched. Raised the issue at reception at the time to be told due to a fault movies weren't available until morning yet we were charged - they don't care just want money. We won't return and I don't recommend this resort to others much better hotels around that appreciate their guests.
