Poor menu choice
Wifi, staff
No lift but staff helped with luggage at check in. Location is in middle of nowhere so only good for 1 night stop overs while passing through Hard beds broke my poor back
Garden looking out dinning area Staff were wonderful
Nothing all fine

Nothing not to like
Handy location just off the motorway with really nice room and and lovely friendly staff. Excellent meal in the restaurant. This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed here.
Nothing not to like
The hotel is located in Dunfermline, the ancient Scottish capital which is not too far from Edinburgh airport and deserves to be visited. It is located on the outskirts of Dunfermline but it has a private parking which is very convenient if you are coming by car. The room I stayed was comfortable.
Hyvä sijainti, rauhallinen ympäristö. Hyvät yhteydet Edinburghiin.
Vegaani aamiainen oli heikko, kasvikset puuttuivat yleisesti.
It was clean and staff were very polite and friendly
That there was no full length mirror in bedroom only mirror was in bathroom. A full length mirror in bedroom is a must! Also breakfast was not included in room price and was a separate charge, making it an added expense.
Decent hotel just everything nice
A little bit out of town so a taxi there and back
Tutto bene
Nulla
Little dated but refurbished was happening. Parking was limited and had problems when came back late due to others taking and blocking two spaces . Needs marked bays
Good location
Cooked breakfast was good and drinks were cheap compared to some pubs
Rooms need refurbishing and room 13 hard to get 2 with suitcases
Good location, great parking, clean and tidy, great breakfast
The location ,parking, room and lovely breakfast, very good value for money
Nothing
Great place, helpful staff. Great service received
nothing.
Clean. Attractive. Good location for us.
A bit noisy part of the time.
Posizione e ristorante
Clean, comfortable and the best shower we have had on our trip. Free parking. Location was good for onwards journeys getting into and out of Dunfermline. Quiet location.
Could do with more phone charging points.
Plenty breakfast items to choose from. Cooked very well but not hot enough.
Paid for room with view. But view was of car park! Also the room was quite small and sparsely furnished. Not worth the money spent.
The hotel is conveniently located near Edinburgh Airport, with a 24-hour reception and free parking. The room was clean and had a kettle with tea and coffee
Nothing to report
Lovely staff
Just wee bit expensive food in bistro and wasn't sure about getting relevant information they didn't tell me how to contact reception I asked only cause tv didn't work the controller they did try
Overall nice environment
Room was too small for 2 people
I have a fondness for the Best Western chain, so I was expecting a good experience and this stay did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly.
As this is an older hotel, the electrics are not quite up-to-date and the sockets have no USB ports. But that is a very minor complaint.
Food is fantastic, staff very helpful, quiet location.
Nothing
Breakfast was 👍
No USB connection. Bed was horrendous 😫 and noise pollution between rooms was bad..interior very outdated
Room was comfortable and rested well
Parts of the hotel are in need of refurbishment
La struttura è molto carina
The beds were uncomfortable. The hotel was as if it is from 1970s, needs a proper renovation. The breakfast was not good, the group finished everything on the buffet and they were not renewed. Coffee was undrinkable, the scrambled eggs was a mess, totally unforgettable experience
Have stayed here before all great so booked again. Not happy ! rooms are clean, breakfast and service was lovely well cooked, attentive restaurant staff ,bathroom modern, good beds - comfy exept for one mattress tired and lumpy but serviceable, no issues again there . My main aggravation however is that i booked a MONTH in advance and the hotel knowing works may disturb guests who wanted to sleep during the day or perhaps work nights are not warned that works would be going on ( we spoke to others who said same ) when booking this should've been made clear lots of works would be going on during the stay , you then could book elsewhere if this would be a problem, total lack of communication from hotel and management from booking To arrival, we also found the staff at the desk to basically ignore any of this was going on When we got there and throughout the stay. Including not being asked the question you always get asked when you leave. "How was your stay" possibly due to embarrassment we felt avoided . We Arrived very tired and ready to get some sleep for our cruise the next day. Upon arrival we found there was no access due to driveway being dug up and resurfacing. No signage warning you not to enter in vehicles , just men shouting at people not to drive in. , no signage for guests on foot (like ourselves) of where to go, and with two cases in each hand and my mother ( who is 80) and unsteady on her feet we had to jump over the freshly laid tarmac base and negotiate the lumpy grass. Guests should be the priority and number one concern to management. Temporary and accessible footpath should be in place , which is why usually you surface one side of an access road at a time. To allow cars and foot traffic safe access , and the hotel should have made sure this was all planed and executed correctly with guests in mind before work began with the contractor,. being a hotel no less and dealing with the public, not here . heavy plant equipment moving all around you , no barriers signs or anything. Contractor and hotel Literally zero thought or care or heath and safety consideration for guests on how to go about what was being done Upon entering the room the noise and smell was constant all day so windows couldn't be opened, you could not rest wouldn't have mattered what room you had , in the evening when they knocked off we thought things would improve , but things didn't get better -work also going on in the surrounding rooms, hammering power chisels removing plaster. Following morning Woke at 8am by the noise and concrete dust blowing from a circular saw directly towards the an open window ( all caught on film) which is exactly what an aged parent with lung fibrosis needs. Why you would put guests in a room right next to the works both inside and outside im not sure. I Now Feel like this hotel does not value nor consider it's guests not even an apology , so regardless so can't recommend nor would be back .

Gardens were lovely, staff friendly and helpful, rooms very clean and comfortable.
Access road needs repair.
The hotel was ideal for our one-night stay in Dunfermline. The room and bathroom were spacious and a spotlessly clean, the bed was large and comfortable, although the pillows were a bit flat, staff were friendly and helpful and there was plenty of parking. We ate in the restaurant, which has views over the beautiful garden to the Forth bridges and a magnificent monkey puzzle tree. The food was fine and reasonably priced - my husband's Cajun chicken was especially good and suitably spicy. Breakfast was also good, with a selection of fruit and cereal etc and hot food cooked to order.
There was nothing we didn't like really, although you need to watch out for the huge potholes in the drive. But I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Pitbauchlie House Hotel.
It was quiet. The reception staff were efficient
The entrance to the hotel is appalling. The surface of the drive is broken and crumbled.. We used one of the disabled bays and the car was absolutely covered in bird poo the next morning. Not sure what could be done about that other than a warning sign?
I have stayed here several times and really like the feel of the place. The staff are always friendly and the young ladies on breakfast were very helpful and entertaining. They really worked as a team. I believe their supervisor was not in that day so they deserve special mention.
Good quiet location , rooms well designed and showers efficient . Lovely comfortable beds and big guest towels . Food very good - choice of dishes at dinner good and quality of food high . Cocktails at bar - good selection
Having to make own toast at breakfast bit of a bind .
Lovely hotel full of character
The relaxing atmosphere
Lovely hotel, slightly off the main area, but convenient and easy to find.
Really nice grounds but suggest they need to do something about the potholes in their drive!
Very clean nice quiet spot beautiful garden
Nothing
Good location for my purpose
The poorly trained staff - breakfast wait staff and reception staff. Hotel was cold.
Basic hotel that suited us for Knockhill circuit , handy to Dunfermline. It did all that it said but lacked that wee bit extra , this was reflected in staff and building. Failed to give the feeling that wee were the guest and they wanted to excel in all departments
Charmigt hotell.
Staff were amazing
L'emplacement Le petit déjeuner très bien
Incredible gardens, and extremely nice staff
Setting, parking and quiet
Mattresses too soft for a comfortable night’s sleep. Staff need to trained for a more professional service. Nothing really bad but just a bit more refined welcome and interaction
Well located, tasty, hot food
Bedroom decor was tired and shabby in places
Staff very helpful
Room small and old fashioned.
Just back from this hotel and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, was treated well from checking in to checking out, rooms are lovely although a bit dated very clean and well maintained, the room aids do a lovely job, food is pretty good and drinks are decent measures, we had breakfast included and it's off a menu, but don't be put off oederexactly what you want and say how many we did, only disappointment was we thought tomatoes would of been tinned lol you help your self to toast and cereal if you want it all in all a lovely stay
Staff very courteous Food was really good Prices for food and drinks reasonable
Carpets are not very clean which spoiled the look of the hotel
Very nice place to stay Lovely food Very comfortable room Staff very helpful Lovely gardens
Nothing
Close to family who we were visiting, rooms clean and had everything we needed and food was delicious
Nothing
We've stayed here every year for several years. Good location for us and what we need it for and always a comfortable and hassle free stay. We had a larger group who were catered for very well during dinner. I was able to liaise with the team ahead of arrival so that the check in process was easier for both sides.
The disabled toilet was certainly not designed by a wheelchair user! I use an electric wheelchair and can transfer from the chair to the toilet. However, there was very limited room to navigate to do this easily at the hotel. Everytime I moved, the hand dryer went off, I could not even lock the door so my daughter had to stand outside. The space inside and design of this "disabled" toilet did not offer the same dignity or respect as would a standard ladies/gents toilet would. Then to be told by reception staff that "a wheelchair user designed it", was obviously untrue! If they had done, this simple basic human need wouldn't have been as degrading as it was at this hotel.
Bar area lovely
Bed a bit soft
Sehr schön. Ruhige Lage, gutes Essen und Frühstück. Sehr freundliches Personal.
The location was perfect for commuting into Edinburgh by bus or train. The bathroom and shower were excellent. The bed was really comfortable
The furniture in the room was a bit dated. My partner asked for a half portion for breakfast as due to health issues can only eat a small amount, she got a half portion but we still got charged the full price of £14.50
Lekker ontbijt
D e wifi valt snel weg
Central location, clean and value for money
No lift, have mobility issues so stairs a struggle

Heel ruime kamer.
The staff were friendly especially the staff serving breakfast. The cooked breakfast was nice. The bed was comfortable,
We booked the room via Booking.com. The pictures of the room on the site were not reflective of the room we were allocated. Room 244 was dark and dingy and in need of redecorating and updating, as was the hotel generally. In room 244 the carpet was old and dirty, the wallpaper was coming of the walls, the furniture old and the room just was generally uninviting. Thankfully the window opened wide as the room had a musty smell. The room had no view as it was at the side of the hotel and a large tree blocked daylight. At reception we were told the hotel was fully booked so we could not change rooms although at breakfast there were only a handful of guests. There were other rooms overlooking the garden which may have been better in terms of decoration. The driveway was in a desperate state with pot holes. Overall the hotel is in need of an overhaul and updating so given the cost per night it is not good value for money.
Personnel et service au restaurant
We love this Hotel. Have stayed here many times. Great location, lovely sraff and excellent food.
This is another Best Western Hotel, we like to try different ones but Garfield in Cumbernauld is still tops but this hotel is also very good. On arrival the Hotel is set back from the main road but a big sign outside so easy to find. If I was to be extremely picky I would say driveway is a let down but that’s me looking for a fault. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly indeed and that’s how it should be as they are the first person you see representing the company. The room was very spacious and comfortable and wee had a great view overlooking the garden. The food was good and as was the breakfast which had everything. Nice location and we would definitely go back again. Wee had an outside guest as an alarm clock (see picture)
Nichts
Cooked breakfast was very tasty, hotel and surroundings are beautiful. We had an amazing room with a view of garden and the Fourth Bridge. Very friendly and helpful staff
The continental breakfast lacked the choice that I would like. The weekend staff in the breakfast room weren't as attentive as the staff in the week but I'm sure they will get better with time as they are young.
The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious and was comfortable and had a great bathroom.
Only thing was maybe need to resurface the driveway to the carpark otherwise nothing
Clean hotel Good breakfast Staff Parking
Some finishings to be fixed
This was one night sleep and the place was clean and tidy, the breakfast was good enough.
We spent one night and for this reason was room sufficient. Close to city centre, 10min. by car As we were leaving to the airport early, I cannot avaluate breakfest quality
Lovely setting and great staff. Room was comfortable, but see comment below. Shower room was lovely.
Bedroom could be doing with a makeover. Potholes in driveway are horrendous 😫
No lift, had to carry suitcases up a flight of stairs.
Comfortable venue, large room (no view & had to keep window closed at night as close to road). Room is going to get upgraded soon which it needs ( especially chair & ironing board). Staff very friendly and helpful. Close to bus stop but did not use it. Average taxi price to railway station £7. Plenty of free onsite parking. Breakfast was excellent.
Many rooms face onto the garden but sadly we had one facing the car park & subsequent road traffic noise. Saying that, we slept very well. Dining room could do with replacing or removing the dated venetian blinds.
Really big comfortable bed. Excellent food and drinks . Easy. Access from the M90. Great freshly baked morning rolls for breakfast. Great seating in dining room so we could look out onto the lovely garden so pleasant.
Paper serviettes they should provide linen ones for a restaurant of this quality. Similar comments about horrible cheap wine glasses. That is why we had no wine. However the glasses our Mojito cocktails came in were superb. Confusing promotional leaflets about pricing of cocktails.
Convenient, friendly staff. Decent food.
Dated. Rooms are old fashioned.
This is a superb hotel. Well-maintained clean, quiet, nice staff. Nice stopover enroute to cruise terminal. Beautiful setting.
Very clean. Would have liked to have stayed for breakfast but had to leave very early.
Noisy guests in next room returning at 3am
Friendly and courteous staff. Great view over the river and bridge.

Za tako ceno je blo vse odličo. Postelja zeloo udobna. Vsak dan je blo lepo posprabljeno. Vsi zelo prijazni.
Good room and bathroom equipment obviously new and modern
Only downside was the wallpaper in the room which was lifting along some of the seams
Staff were so welcoming, room was spotless and breakfast was lovely, beautiful place!
Nothing, our stay was amazing!
A warm welcome. Room was very comfortable and the dinner very pleasant.

Areas to consider
Cleanliness
7.5/10Mixed signals: several guests praised clean rooms and quiet, but at least one review specifically noted carpets were not very clean, which lowers the score.
Service
9/10Generally very positive — staff repeatedly described as helpful, courteous and professional, though a few comments suggested front-of-house could be more polished and staff training would be beneficial.
Location
9.2/10Strongly positive: frequently noted as well located for commuting to Edinburgh, close to Rosyth/airport, central and convenient with free parking.
Room Quality
7.6/10Mixed: many found rooms comfortable and of a good size, but several mentions of tired, dated decor, small/old-fashioned rooms and mattresses/bed a bit too soft.
Amenities
8/10Solid: free/easy parking and lovely gardens praised; negatives include no lift (accessibility issue) and occasional wifi dropouts and slow bar service at night.
Value for Money
8/10Generally seen as good value (reasonable food/drink prices, comfortable stays), but isolated issues (breakfast charging dispute) slightly reduce the score.
Food and Beverage
9/10Strong: food repeatedly described as tasty, hot and lovely with good bar food; some operational problems noted (slow cocktail service, delays taking breakfast orders).
Overall Experience
8.9/10Positive overall: many guests would happily stay again, describing comfortable, hassle-free stays and very helpful staff, despite a few minor service/room issues.
Set among 3 acres of woodland and landscaped gardens, the property offers a bright, modern feel with tranquil surroundings.
A popular Bar Bistro area overlooks the gardens, with a spacious beer garden and lounge bar for coffees, cocktails, and gins.
Close to the M90 and Dunfermline, with handy access to bridges and Edinburgh, ideal for day trips and commuting.
