The Inn At Charlestown

The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast room was large and airy. Nice bar area to relax.

The rooms are not soundproof at all. We heard every word spoken in the rooms beside us and were woken up several times with guests walking/talking in the corridor and doors opened and closed.

Lage ist weit ab vom Schuß. Sehr abgewohnt. Teilweise schmuddelig. Personal nicht sehr professionell.

Location. Room very comfortable.

This is only a personal choice but there was no real ale on tap or bottled. Went to another establishment to spend the evening. All breakfast items were not available at the same time. Had to wait for cooked food for around 20 minutes and some items did not arrive at all. Some guests took a lot more than they should and then not consumed. Although it was appreciated that the food was cooked fresh it would probably be better if orders were taken for the cooked breakfast to avoid guests taking more than they should as there was only a small amount that came out at the same time.

Warm welcome on arrival and it was a good location on our last day in Scotland. Our flight was very early in the morning so the staff provided us with breakfast to take with us . The staff were very friendly . We stayed in one of the pods which it was nice .

A fan would it have been a relieved as is was a bit stuffy in the pods.

The Inn was a place we couldn't complain about. Everything was quiet okay. Just the way we expacted it.

Struttura bella e curata a mezz'ora di macchina da Edimburgo. Personale cortese e disponibile. Noi abbiamo cenato nel loro ristorante ed era molto buono. La stanza era semplice, pulita e curata nei dettagli. Molto buona anche la colazione, tipica scozzese e molto abbondante, servita a buffet.

The food in the restaurant was fantastic. The staff were very friendly without being over familiar. Location managed to make a business trip feel like a seaside holiday.

Not a dislike because i rarely eat breakfast, however if i was to criticise anything i'd say breakfast starts too late, probably more pertinent to people on business rather than holidaymakers.

Fantastic room as I stayed in the honeymoon suite.

It wasn't as clean as you would expect. Dust on skirting boards and on top of plug sockets.

1 Serviceangestelkte am Abend war nicht gut Glas vergessen zum Getränk, wollte es gleich bringen. Nach 10 min war sie am "Quatschen" Zimmer zuwenig sauber. Habe das Bett verschoben damit ich an den Lichtschalter kam, hinter dem Bett wurde seit längerem nichts gereinigt

Lovely small hotel in a lovely village. Nice clean comfortable room with balcony overlooking the Firth of Forth and a view of the Forth Bridges. Good evening meal and breakfast. Staff were polite and helpful.

Zum Frühstück war ein kleines Buffet aufgebaut, das ständig wieder aufgefüllt wurde. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer waren mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt. Alles war sauber und gepflegt.

Perfectly placed for us as we were visiting Limekilns. We had a glamping pod, booked as a bit of a novelty but it was perfect. Everything we needed for our short stay.

This was a good location for our last night in Scotland. Out of the city but close to get to airport. The food was good. We stayed in one of the pods and it was nice to have our own space, shower and bathroom.

The food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff very helpful and pleasant. Our only issue was the lock on our door was broken we were offered a move to accommodation in the hotel from the glamping pod.

I’m sort of a clean freak and was sad to see dirty carpet on the stairs and marked up walls and a moldy dirty floor in the bathroom.

Nous avons logé dans un pod. Très bien aménagé, literie confortable. Le restaurant est très bon aussi : petit déjeuner complet (buffet) inclus dans la réservation et dîner sur place (voir prix sur place).

The location and the breakfast.

We stayed in one of the pods. The pod was nice and has everything you need. The first thing you notice is the dirty mat. Granted the floor was mopped but it needs to be brushed/hoovered before mopping.

Le personnel accueillant et la situation en bord de mer et à quelques kilomètres d’Edimbourg.

L’hôtel accueille des fêtes et mariages, nous avons eu droit à un mariage la première nuit avec musique très forte jusqu’à minuit. Si nous l’avions su, nous aurions réservé ailleurs.

We visited in the heat wave and the room got rather hot

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'emplacement, le calme, la gentillesse du personnel. Le pod était de bonne taille , très pratique avec kitchenette, salle de bains et terrasse. Petit déjeuner sous forme de buffet avec grand choix typiquement écossais ou continental

La literie n'était pas de très bonne qualité, attention pour les personnes qui ont déjà des douleurs dorsales...le ménage est à revoir surtout sous les lits et au niveau de la terrasse, mégots sous la table.

Le cadre est vraiment sympathique, les pods sont bien agencés. Le gardien de nuit Jim est super accueillant, très gentil. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Le personnel est agréable également.nous avions loué 3 pods.

Le pod était un peu poussiéreux sous le lit, notre porte de salle de bain coinçait un peu, il faudrait raboter un peu la porte. Une des serrures extérieures fermait mal aussi.

The dimensions may be insufficient for families comprising three or more individuals. The sofa would be more suitable if it incorporated a convertible bed feature.

Water in the room wasn’t drinkable… although bottled was provided… and the taps spat. Service was very slow… staff were about but not when you needed something and in a big property made them difficult to locate. For example not always someone on the bar or reception and no working bell.

Location was excellent and I even went for an evening run. Bedroom overlooking the firth of forth. With table and 2 chairs. Had evening meal which was really good. Decent selection of beers. Breakfast was buffet style and had loads of choice hot & cold items all freshly prepared. For me a little late starting at 8am for business stays. Big car park, completely free. They have some glamping pods at the rear of the hotel which look nice.

Water system in the room seemed to have an issue with pressure in that it would change quite dramatically.

The location is perfect lovely view’s peaceful easy to get to places around , nice walk to the harbour .

It could do with a good deep clean ,windows in restaurant dirty inside .Shower mould round the edges, and the shower house rusty needing cleaned or replaced big cobweb at the window where buffet for breakfast was served . Breakfast was very greasy eggs lying in grease .

Der Gastraum und der Empfangsbereich waren ungepflegt. Im Restaurant alte abgeschabte Stühle. Der Boden voller Staub und Krümmel auch morgens beim Frühstück. Über alle Tage hatte man den Eindruck, dass niemand sich darum kümmert. Kein Obst beim Frühstücksbuffet. Einfache Dinge, die man besser machen kann einschließlich der Dekoration im Restaurant.

Room 7 was superb. Spacious with large comfy bed. The view from the balcony was excellent. Delicious buffet breakfast. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The standard twin room had uncomfortable beds which were a bit too small for normal sized adults.

That the cabin looked on to a car park..where we thought there would have been more of a view. The cabin could have been cleaner (hair and cob webs found) food was cold in the restaurant. Staff were pleasant but no one once asked how things were at all during our stay.

Die Glampingpods konnten leider wegen siedelnder Wespen nicht bezogen werden. Wir wurden daher direkt im Haupthaus untergebracht. Die Zimmer waren groß, komfortabel und die kleinen Bäder waren blitzsauber! Wirklich super. Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig!

The view was nice from the balcony. The room was clean and had thick curtains. There were towels, an ironing board, and hairdryer. There was a car park and bar downstairs.

I waited about an hour for dinner, and then it arrived cold. I sent it back, and it was returned far too hot. I couldn't get attention from the waitress to get some water, and every other table had a carafe of water. I had to wait an age for dessert as well. There seemed to be one poor woman frantically running the bar, restaurant, and front of house on her own, with an occasional second lady helping. This place needs more staff. Thankfully I didn't have to wait an hour for breakfast; it was a hot buffet already cooked, and it was decent. I couldn't sleep as the light was on in the hall all night and kept me awake. The bedroom and bathroom are tiny, but I didn't mind too much. There was no info in the rooms about the hotel facilities or info about the wifi, so I had to go back to reception and find out. I wish I had booked somewhere else, though, and gotten a prompt dinner and a good night's sleep, as that's all I really wanted.

Ampio parcheggio gratuito.. bella la struttura, camera spaziosa! Colazione nella norma non così eccezionale come scrivono. C’era sia dolce che salato ma sempre le stesse cose e non così speciali! Secondo me il prezzo così alto non è proporzionato ai servizi e al livello della colazione! E’ stata la struttura più cara.. ma nel complesso e’ stato positivo il soggiorno.

We travelled with our small dog, she was made welcome, and we had no issues, our room was clean and tidy, and had everything you would expect.

Pity the toilet seat was the correct one for the toilet, But I imagine this was a temporary fix, until they managed to get the correct size
