Very pleaseant stay with comfortable room and excellent service. Assistant manager Mr. Kwan (Gilbert) was extremely thoughtful and helpful.

Love it that every time I stay with the Shangrila group of hotels, they automatically provide my choice of pillow in the room. THAT is service.

Spacious room well equipped with friendly in-service facilities. Staff are welcoming and friendly, offering speedy services on demand. Stay is refreshing and comfortable.

The room is of a good size and the bed is comfortable. Front desk staff is helpful. Less than two blocks from the MTR (subway) station). Easy bus to the airport.

The gym is very small, under equipped. The room is noisy (bring ear pugs). The lobby bar is a bit depressing.

Good location next to the Metro and Kennedy Town with the famous hotspots. And the bus that goes directly to the airport is a 5 minute walk.

It’s a bit outdated but it didn’t make it bad, they’re renovating while I was there so maybe it will be newer soon. Maybe add more restaurant outlets

The hotel was undergoing renovation and the noise between 10-6pm was horrible. I feel that it was very unfair that I was not informed about the renovation till 6 days before my arrival. It was too late for me to find a different arrangement. When I tried to work in the lounge upstairs around 5pm, I was told I cannot stay there because my booking doesn't include " cocktail hour. The rooms, especially carpet, are a bit worn out - it didn't really affect my stay and likely it will improve after the renovation.

The entrance way is inconvenient with luggage.. While sitting eating and drinking at the bar housekeeping decided to mop the floor near me with strong smelling disinfectant. Less than helpful response to my objection.

観光の中心地からは離れているが、落ち着いたロケーションでゆっくりしやすい。香港のホテルとしてはとてもスペースにゆとりがある。 改装したてなので部屋や設備が綺麗で、浄水システムがあるので水分補給に面倒さがない。 これまで宿泊したホテルの中でかなり使い勝手のよい間取りと設備で、シャワーの件さえ解決すれば定宿にしたい。

最悪だったのは、シャワーの水圧が経験上のどのホテルよりも低かったこと。換気がしっかりしていて冷気が回っているので、あのぽちゃぽちゃ程度のシャワーでは風邪を引いてしまう。（暑い地域のホテルで基本的に冷えるため、シャワーでしか冷えを解消できない） 冷蔵庫は効き目が弱く冷えない。工事中の関係もあるかと思うが、稼働するエレベーターが少なく待ち時間が多い。加えて、これも工事中の影響なのかもしれないが、カードキーを翳さなくても使えたのでセキュリティの意味がなく少し怖かった。

Location is the best for exploring the city as it is next to the MTR. Rooms were space and very comfortable. Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Construction is ongoing which means that between 10 and 6 it will be very noisy. Also during this time the single elevator that is working takes forever. We were well informed about the inconveniences so we managed to adapt ourselves.

We had a Club Room with a harbour view. Benjamin in the club lounge was fantastic. Very attentive and polite.

This hotel is a convenient location, especially if you need to stop by HKU. Staff Carman is very nice and friendly, she gave me really good advices of local restaurants of finding price friendly seafood. Since I was not familiar with Aberdeen at all, she was very patient and helpful about the transportation and other travel tips. One thing about the pool is that it would have been better if there is dressing room.

My room is newly renovated. It’s very very nice . The room is modernly designed , superb clean and house keeping staff are polite and professional.

The only thing ok for me was the breakfast otherwise the facility claimed or categorized as ‘Shangri-la’ was definitely disappointing. The room indeed smelled like homeless shelters if you don’t leave the air condition on. The standard room was so tiny that could not even open a check in luggage. The pictures on the web are so deceiving.

Probably a two and half star property not 4 star if judge by USA standard.

Excellent location a few steps from HKU metro station. The room was incredibly comfortable and clean - the blackout blinds were great. The rooftop pool was also lovely!

距離地鐵站（香港大學）非常近，走路只需2-3分鐘，旁邊就是東海堂跟賣零食的小雜貨店，還有7-11，附近也有餐廳及麥當勞（生意都蠻好的，時常看到有人在排隊）。

隔音效果不是很好，在走廊講話跟在房間內講話沒什麼差別，聽得非常清楚，另外房門沒有設置緩衝器，如果不注意，很容易產生關門的碰碰聲，其實蠻大聲的。

Excellent location next to the HKU MTR station, making it very convenient to reach any part of Hong Kong. The surrounding road is lined with great places to eat. It’s a busy, bustling area, but once inside the hotel, it is surprisingly quiet. The room was a good size—we stayed for four nights and never felt cramped. Our window also offered a lovely view of the bay.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but this did not disturb us at all—they are managing the process very well. However, there is no access to the terrace or the swimming pool at the moment.

I changed rooms twice and both rooms smelled not fresh. This may be because the carpets require a deep cleaning. The smell was quite unpleasant. The windows were quite dirty and impacted the view and felt a bit "suffocating". The location is very central which is super convenient.

The location is perfect! Near great strolling neighboring Kennedy town. Nice chill area to relax in-between more hectic excursions to other parts of town.

It is at the lower end of a 4*. As others have mentioned, the hotel is a bit tired. Having said this, our room was good - clean and decent sized. If you catch the room at a discount rate it's well worth it.

Es war sehr enttäuschend, die Zimmer muffig und alt , kein Vergleich zu den dargestellten Bildern im Internet! Bad alt! Frühstück ok! Würde das Hotel niemals weiter empfehlen und auch nie wieder buchen!!!!!!!

Tolle Lage

Location was walking distance from HKU MTR and ideal for what I wanted. Room was spacious and the waterfront boardwalk was a great place for my morning runs. Staff were friendly and helpful, along with the housekeeper during my stay!

With the HK environmental regulation changes since 2024, complementary water was phased out but maybe hotels should introduce water dispensers like in other countries.

It was next to the MTR station entrance, but still a long walk to the actually subway. The room was a good size for Hong Kong.

The hotel is old and the fixtures in the room area are worn out. Everything wasn’t very well designed. The room was also not very clean and smelled off other peoples odours. Dust and dirt in places. I picked this hotel as it is afflicted with the Shangri-La so I thought the standards would be higher but they were not at all. Staff at the lobby bar are not friendly and made terrible cocktails.

While we had read some of the recent reviews before our stay in Nov 2025, we had thought that a hotel under the Shangri La brand cannot be that bad. Well, it wasn't good either, and apart from the title, NOTHING here is worthy of the Shangri La brand... While the room amenities are comfortable, and the room was fixed everyday, amenities are a bit old, especially the bathroom. The place was clean enough, but not good enough for the price point. There was a persistent slight smell of sweat in the room everyday, and you couldn't do anything about it, given that you couldn't open a window. The hallways on our floor were very similar. There was construction going on the upper floors, but that didn't bother us, we didn't hear much noise. The location for a tourist is underwhelming, to say the least. It's HK, so it's still easy to move around with public transport (metro stop just next door), however, make no mistake, this is NOT at all a touristic area, and it's on the poorer side of the main island. Still safe and relatively close by to more touristy areas, but surroundings are rather depressing.

Das Hotel ist super gelegen - im Viertel gibt es viele Restaurants und Läden, zur Promenade sind es ca. 10-15 min. Metro und 7/11 direkt ums Eck :) Das Zimmer war echt modern ausgestattet, sehr sauber und komfortabel! Wir hatten zu zweit mit 4 Koffern immer noch genügend Platz im Zimmer :)

Nice hotel, helpful and friendly staff, good location next to a metro station; very good breakfast.

The location is very convenient and surrounded by lots of eatery. MTR and the tram just around the corner. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel arranged a connecting room for us with one of the room specially for elderly.
