Dass Babies zeitlich unlimitiert mit in ein Becken im Spa mitgenommen werden durften (habe diesbezüglich extra noch nachgefragt), halte ich für hygienisch bedenklich und ein wenig grauslich, da man sich gut vorstellen konnte, was im warmen Wasser da passiert ....

The staff were amazing! Very friendly and attentive. We also loved the AquaClub. Very relaxing and added luxury.

We found the hotel room to be small, hot and dated. We had a larger suitcase and it overtook the room. The furniture was dated. Pillows were very soft and uncomfortable and the room had no air-con and was uncomfortably warm.

I felt very comfortable as I was on my own. Breakfast was brilliant and staff outstanding. A lovely atmosphere in the hotel, very relaxed but also professional. Nobody interfered but I felt that if I had a problem I could have approached any of the staff. Loved the swimming pool.

The Spa was very busy and so I always went back to the pool. This was not a problem at all and quite understand that it was still a busy time of year, there was nothing to stop me in using the spa. I was thinking on having a neck and head massage and hoped that there was a leaflet with prices etc. the young lady was very pleasant and said that I would find these details on the app. Not very up on technology and so unable to find an app. I did have one of your cheaper rooms without views but even with a fan it was quite warm at night.

Location was fantastic. So easy to see scenic beauty of the place including fistral beach. Free access to spa facilities and options for treatments was good.

Sumptuous- squashy velvet sofas, feather cushions, drapes, plants, chandeliers. Massive bed. Elegant bar. Glorious food. Views that hypnotise. Etc, etc, etc.

Hard to change the structure but our room was smaller than similar 5* hotel we've stayed at. I also noticed there were no toiletries provided apart from soap / lotion in refillable dispenser - I didn't need them, but it was expecting to see them in such a hotel. On our second day, the hot breakfast took 30min to arrive, perhaps they were busy or short-staffed

Keine Klimaanlage im Zimmer, Fenster ließ sich nicht genügend öffnen, um zu . Bilder vom Außenpool irreführend, da eher klein und nicht zum Schwimmen geeignet, sondern nur zum im Wasser liegen. Völlig unverständlich in der Lage, keinerlei Außenbereich mit Sonnenliegen, lediglich ein paar Liegestühle in kleinen Buchten, aber dort null Service, kein Personal, das irgendwie vorbei kam und einem was servieren konnte. Und überhaupt das Personal, das war die größte Enttäuschung. Mit wenigen Ausnahmen haben wir das Personal als unaufmerksam, desinteressiert und in den Umgangsformen simpel erlebt. Wir mussten sehr lange warten, bis überhaupt jemand kam und dann war die Kenntnis über die Sachen die vorhanden waren auch sehr dünn. Personal tendenziell eher für ein zwei Sterne Hotel. Alles in allem nur wegen der Lage und dem Charakter des Hotels in vier Sterne Hotel. Mehr nicht, sehr schade bei dieser Ausgangslage.

Breakfast was amazing with lots of options. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Location was perfect and ideal. There are great views from a number of the public rooms. We were staying there for 2 nights following our wedding. The housekeeping staff lovingly created heart shaped swans on our bed for our arrival, which was a nice touch.

Our room was comfortable, a little small and outdated but was clean and tidy. The corridors to the room were large, spacious but dimly lit, even during the day making it feel slightly oppressive.

Hotel in super Lage am Meer und das Frühstück war sehr gut

Leider wurde es mit der Sauberkeit nicht so genau genommen, auch das Badezimmer wurde bei der täglichen Reinigung nicht gereinigt (Haare am Boden)

Die Lage dieses Hotels ist einfach außergewöhnlich. Der Blick über die Küste und den Fistral Beach sind wunderbar. Wenn man das Hotel betritt hat man das Gefühl, man betritt eine andere Ära. Das Frühstück ist ok, könnte bei dem Preis etwas abwechslungsreicher sein. Die beiden Spas sind schön angelegt. Ein toller Aufenthalt.

Excellent Spa hotel but I didn’t realise there would be so many pampered pooches in the hotel. It was strange to see customers sit with dogs on their knees for breakfast.

Zimmer: Alle ziemlich alt und relativ klein- dank fiesem Teppich auch eher schmuddelig und leider habe ich nicht das Zimmer erhalten, welches ich laut Booking gebucht habe. Das Bad war extrem winzig, keine Abstellmöglichkeit und auch sonst kein wirklicher Komfort, welchen man bei einem 5* Hotel erwarten würde. Restaurant: ok- aber relativ teuer für das was es geboten hat. Tische auch eher klebrig schmuddelig. Service- übertrieben freundlich aber nicht wirklich effizient. Frühstück: naja- es gibt alles- aber in keiner sehr guten Qualität- und auch nicht schön angerichtet. Wellness: auch hier wieder typisch englisch: nicht sonderlich sauber und die Liegen wirkten extrem schmuddelig. Diverse Pools boten zwar Abwechslung- aber es war auch extrem gut besucht. FAZIT: Preis- Leistung stimmt beim Hotel überhaupt nicht! Alles eher wie maximal 3* Hotel...

Phenomenal location right by Fistral Beach and absolutely wonderful dog friendly. Supplied water bowl, treats, poop bags, and a dog blanket. Excellent restaurants on site, Ugly Butterfly was 10/10.

No attention paid to special occasion as we had let the hotel know we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Worth noting this property does not have AC. Weather when we stayed was fine without as it wasn’t during the heat wave and we were supplied with a small fan for our room.

Although an old building, it's in good condition. The location and views are second to none. The staff are well trained, and their personal touch gives the feeling of a luxury hotel experience. It's definitely not the cheapest hotel in the area, but combining a stay here with a visit to the (absolutely outstanding) Ugly Butterfly restaurant in the same building makes for a really special stay.

I would advise against staying here during hot/humid times of the year - the hotel obviously has no control over the weather, but the old building doesn't have air conditioned rooms (well, mine wasn't anyway) and at night time the humidity made for very uncomfortable, impossible to sleep, conditions.

We stopped here as part of walking the SWCP. And it was such a beautiful hotel and experience. We loved it! All the staff were amazing and super friendly/helpful. The spa was such a treat! And the incredible dinner whilst the sun set made it such a special evening. Would highly recommend!

My room overlooked a parking lot and the spa area, so I had to keep all my curtains closed (especially in the bathroom) for any privacy. This was very disappointing as I booked a partial sea view for a reason! If there were more accurate pics online I might have booked another room.

This was an insanely beautiful hotel. Insanely gorgeous, almost haunting location near a beautiful cliff walk, several secret beach coves, and of course the surfing action of Fistral Beach. My husband and I were overwhelmed with the serenity of the property -- and yet, was easy walking distance from town and the train. The spa was the crown jewel, so relaxing and easy to access, good in all weather too. The breakfast was extravagant and the best way to start the day by the big windows overlooking the ocean. The lobby and stairs beautiful, the staff warm and friendly -- honestly I couldn't recommend this hotel more!

The room we got was extremely small with no view, which unfortunately wasn't specified in our Booking.com reservation ahead of time. It ended up fine, but worth noting!

If you want to book something special here because of the 5-star promise and the high prices (with us 460€/night), you can expect the following: Cleanliness The toilets in the room are not cleaned even on a 6-day stay, there is also no toilet brush. Likewise the floors in the room no cleaning despite the beach sand. There is no hand shower in the tub, so no sand can be removed here either. The water pressure would not be enough anyway. The cabinet compartments are dusty. The windows in the ballroom lobby with great views are not cleaned, there are also cobwebs on lamps. The carpets except in the ballroom ten years too old and mouldy. 5-star standard The entrance of the hotel directly on a public parking lot, where beach guests also park because of the unoccupied parker house. Without driveway or similar. In the dark entrance then no flowers but a strange milk jug, dusty. Also in the rest of the house no flowers but dusty silk flowers, rather scary. Except in the ballroom lobby everything is as dark as possible, everywhere there are dusty furniture or objects, rather storage rooms. Mini reception counter, dark and messy. Side sea view Instead of the expected room on the side of the building, you get one at the back of the building, overlooking the huge parking lot. Including the alarm systems that always make noise... The windows can only be opened a crack, heavy mouldy. Despite multiple requests no side room in 6 days. Beach hotel Although the Headlands is located directly on the beach, it offers nothing for beach life. No extra towels, no lying facilities on the beach, no opportunity to wash your feet off the sand. Breakfast Absolutely average without anything fresh except pre-cut fruit from the bucket. Ordered dishes mostly convenience. Long waiting times, too few capacities.

The room we stayed in was very hot there was a black and decker A/C unit but it did make a noise couldn't leave on all night.It should have had pepper A/C installed in the room didn't have a lot of sleep because of this not good.

Disappointing stay – vastly overpriced and terrible attention to detail. We booked The Headland expecting a luxury experience, but the reality fell incredibly short. First, the room itself was a massive disappointment. For the price being charged, we were given a tiny room that felt completely dated. The carpets and rugs looked old, and the furniture felt worn out rather than premium. To make matters worse, the cleanliness was not up to scratch, and it’s glaringly obvious that the hotel is currently short-staffed, which impacts the overall service. Breakfast was also far from ideal and did not live up to luxury hotel standards. The most upsetting part of our stay, however, was the complete lack of care regarding a special occasion. We had submitted a special request well in advance for our daughter’s 2nd anniversary/birthday. The manager explicitly confirmed to us that this would be taken care of, yet absolutely nothing was done. No acknowledgement, no gesture, completely forgotten. While management did acknowledge the room issue by offering a small gesture a bottle of wine ? after we complained, it doesn't come close to making up for the overall poor quality of the stay and the ruined surprise for our daughter. We expected far better service from a resort of this reputation. Will not be returning

Excellent breakfast, beautiful lounge to relax in, beautiful views from the outside terrace.

No air conditioning in this extreme heat, there was a small fan but it wasn't sufficient, windows wouldn't open either. The shower was over the bath but no grab rail to help get in or out of the bath for support or if you slipped in the bath.

The service was attentive and the choice of food was excellent. It was avery good breakfast.

Preis / Leistung stimmt gar nicht. Wir reisten mit 3 Paaren. Alle hatten den selben Eindruck. Zimmerkategorie entsprach nicht unseren Vorstellungen. Viel zu klein, die Fenster liessen sich nur wenig öffnen. Es war stickig und heiss. Türen klemmten, Zimmer wurden nicht gemacht, Klobürste fehlte etc. Mag kleinlich erscheinen geht aber für diese Preiskategorie gar nicht! Wellnessbereich, na ja ?! Am Abend, einen Drink zu bestellen ist Glücksache, wenn dann etwas kommt ist es das Falsche oder unvollständig.

There were so many dogs, dogs were allowed in the restaurant, in the lifts in the lounge. Little dogs big dogs and hairy dogs. I found this overwhelming and this made me anxious regarding my asthma.

There were quite a lot of group bookings using the outdoor spa area throughout the day, so it was sometimes difficult to find a space in any of the jacuzzi pool!

This is a beautiful traditional property that has been sympathetically restored with a beautiful modern bar and dining area and great Spa. Staff were absolutely amazing made us feel welcome the minute we arrived. This is what you would call good old-fashioned service. Literally nothing was too much trouble. We didn’t eat in the main restaurant, but the dishes going out looked amazing. The breakfast was wonderful, not only was the selection good but the attention to detail on the produce. Everything from the Home baked bread to the cheeses were specially selected. You will definitely not be disappointed.. We were lucky enough to Dine inside the ugly butterfly restaurant within the hotel…. I’ve eaten in many restaurants, but honestly, this was hands down the best meal I have eaten .. a little on the expensive side, but definitely worth the experience.

We did do a room swap, looked at several rooms and ended up back at her original room. Staff were incredibly patient and accommodating. Some of the rooms could do with a refurb, their premium room had strange green wicker furniture , and a carpet that looked like underlay. I don’t think some of the rooms have been refurbished yet so my advice would be to pre book a room that has been finished.

A truly iconic hotel on the Headland. The staff are amazing and can't do enough to make your stay special and the food is delicious. The location to Fistral Beach makes it an even more special hotel but we can't wait to return having stayed here 5/6 times over the past 18 months. Its like a magnetic which keeps drawing us back again and again.

The hot tub was closed without forewarning which is a huge part of the aqua spa. The staff in the restaurant were rude and wouldn’t allow us to add drinks to a tab even though we were spending thousands of pounds on drinks for a wedding so we were forced to pay for individual drinks. The lunch and snack menu was awful and portions were small. We requested late check out as our flight had been delayed and even that wasn’t “possible.”

Es ist einfach ein ikonisches Gebäude - traumhafte Lage, der Inbegriff von Freiheit. Es ist das Wahrzeichen von Newquay. Old money style innen, großartiger Blick von Ballroom aus oder aus dem Frühstücksraum aufs Meer - natürlich auch von den Zimmern oben. Ein Traum! Außerdem habe ich nie ein familien- und hundefreundlicheres Hotel gesehen. Der Spa ebenfalls ein gigantisch...

This is the third time we stayed at Headland Hotel. The hotel fabric and facilities were again of excellent standard. The location is wonderful and we booked another special weekend with my wife.

However the staff this time appeared poorly trained and not customer focused. But out dissatisfaction was with the restaurant and kitchen staff. The menu we found poor and unimpressive which did not have some clean eating vegan / vegetarian options. But the visibility of the open kitchen appalled us. A long haired chef with no PPI protection hand assembly of food and visibly untrained kitchen staff not abiding by 'food hygiene standards'. Sorry but this turned our stomachs and we elected to eat our on the second night and not eat breakfast on the second day (except for some toast).

I think it's a bit cheeky to market the room that we were given (122) as having a "side ocean view". Knowing the building from a previous visit, I had rather assumed that this meant the room would be at one end of the hotel. In the event, although the sea could undeniably be seen on a sideways view, the overwhelming outlook is the car park (see photo). The pictures on the website suggest something different - and I wouldn't have booked it had I known. Are there actually any rooms that don't by the measure, have a side ocean view?

The building is beautiful and the location is great. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food and cocktail were nice.

Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed with our stay at Headland Hotel & Spa. I genuinely do not understand how this hotel is rated as a 5-star property. The room was very disappointing compared to what was advertised online. The photos made everything look modern and newly renovated, but in reality we were given an old, dated room with a heavily used mattress. The windows barely opened, making the room unbearably warm with almost no airflow. Both the bedroom and bathroom felt tired and outdated. The shower pressure was poor, the air vent barely functioned, and the towel rail was not working at all. There are two spa areas — one inside the hotel and another a short walk away. The indoor spa was nothing special and certainly not what you would expect from a luxury 5-star hotel. The second spa being outdoors was also far from ideal, especially in rainy and windy weather. To make matters worse, one of the pools was closed during our stay, and there had been no prior warning about this. The spa facilities are also open to children, who have access to nearly everything except the jacuzzi. During our visit, a child defecated in one of the pools, which understandably resulted in the pool being closed for the rest of the day. We also found the restaurant information misleading. The Deck restaurant advertised being open until 9pm, but it closed at 8pm during our stay without any warning. Likewise, the website states lunch is served until 3:30pm, when in reality service ended at 3pm. Overall, the stay was grossly overpriced for what we received. The breakfast itself was nice, but even the breakfast room was dirty. Sadly, this experience fell far below expectations for a supposedly 5-star hotel.

Genuinely couldnt find a bad word to say about this hotel if I tried. Wonderful location, wonderful staff and wonderful facilities. Will 100% be back!

When paying over 300 pounds a night you expect too have some kind of view especially when you pick a hotel out on the Headland and you get the view of a wall about 2 m away from your room. When expressed to staff members that we were not happy, they turned round to us and told us that the room we had paid for was the lowest standard even though there was a price list in the lobby stating otherwise.
