Location good and breakfast was OK

Heated towel rail didn’t work. The hotel is tired The lift very small. Took ages for hot water to pass through the taps

Staff was friendly

So noisy, the loud partying outside went on until 2am, loud music from the bars. The furniture and carpets were old and dirty. I wanted a family room and they wouldn’t accommodate and so forced me to book a fourth room. They demanded up front payment, no cancellations and it was expensive.

prime location, restaurants within 5 minutes walk , but the best restaraunts were less than 1 minute away,

there was nothing to dislike ! it was mid september so the rain was regular, but it was not distracting from our enjoyment

The room was large and comfortable, with a clean bathroom. It has onsite parking, and it has a small, but adequate elevator. Good breakfast and bar areas. Close to everything in town, with great views.

The hotel was located right on the water, central to get to everything in the Oban marina and the views were great. The staff was very helpful, even kept some food cold for us.

La posizione è pazzesca, vista sul mare e molto centrale e comoda.

Arredamento un po’ da svecchiare e per il check out andate con anticipo se avete fretta perché abbiamo aspettato un quarto d’ora.

Locatie is goed, heel centraal gelegen. En we hadden het geluk dat we een van de gratis parkeerplekken naast de deur van het hotel konden gebruiken toen we aankwamen

Erg gedateerd, lijkt alsof er al heel lang geen updates hebben plaatsgevonden (20 jaar of langer). Oude inrichting in gehele hotel. Bed was slechts 140cm breed met heel zwak/zacht matras, douchen in badkuip met nauwelijks waterdruk. Ontbijt was vooral Engels, continentaal stelde nauwelijks iets voor. Geur van het ontbijt hangt ‘s ochtends door het hele hotel

Very out of date lift, not available when needed. Whole place like a warren, not well sign posted. Breakfast area too small until Ipointed out Iwas in a hurry and another room opened, no cutlery or set up, pile of linen on other tables. Breakfast poor., staff uncommunicative. Fried eggs piled up on top of each other looking very unappetising, and a very limited selection of fruit and cereals.

Location is fantastic. Right in the middle of town. The breakfast buffet was ok but better bet to go to a local bakery. Overall the hotel is good just a little a older.

Location and staff.

Dated furnishings and small ancient elevator. Bed was fine though.

Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious with views of the harbour. The lady who greeted us at reception was friendly and helpful. The location was really central. We were lucky to get the last of the hotel's parking spaces - they only have 8 but there is paid parking in the same area.

The lift is old with manual doors. If the last user doesn't close them then the lift gets stuck on that floor. We ended up walking up to the 2nd floor with our luggage because the last user hadn't closed the doors. The hotel has reminder signs outside the lift and the receptionist also explained this on check-in so they are doing what they can to mitigate this. There's only so much you can do about other people's carelessness.

Centre of the town, big room, extremely helpful/friendly staff.

bed felt like 2 small beds pushed together and not a queen/king bed. Would be better if the price was slightly cheaper or breakfast was included.

We were allocated a room on second floor. Bathroom really little. However, the staff allocated another room which was ideal.

A rabbit warren with a lift that came from a Dickens novel. Room was very tired. No toilet paper dispenser , peeling headboard on bed and generally in need of repair

This hotel is in a great location & the view of Oban bay was great. Staff were lovely and very welcoming.

It is a little dated but that doesn’t impact on comfort and cleanliness.

Location was perfect near the train station, the ferry terminal and to shops and restaurants. We were given a 1st floor room which was great.

No A/c but the window opened so this helped.

In common with most hotels in Oban could do with modernising. Beige decor and dark brown furniture seem to be the theme. Shower water wasn't very hot. Bathroom was spacious but quite dated. Breakfast was OK but only available until 09.30. Another hour would be nice, especially at weekends. Bar tables left uncleared made the area look messy (but polite customers tend to return their empty glasses to the bar).

La posizione è pazzesca. Pochi i parcheggi gratuiti assegnati all'hotel, ma si può parcheggiare nel piazzale antistante pagando una cifra non esorbitante. La struttura è vetusta (ascensore compreso), ma tenuta bene e pulita. La camera era molto spaziosa e con una bella vista sul porto.

Loved being right in the middle of everything in Oban.

Idéalement situé pour visiter la ville. Personnel de l'hôtel accueillant et très gentil. Petit déjeuner correct. Nous recommandons d'arriver assez tôt pour bénéficier des places de parking de l'hôtel dont le nombre est très réduit mais qui sont fort appréciables. :)

I love the room and the view. I’m watching the boats coming in and out.

There were three windows in the room only one of which could open and it could only open 6 inches high. It was quite warm and I needed more ventilation in the room.

The main plus were the staff. Could not have been kinder or more courteous and helpful. The breakfast was amazing.

The general look of the hotel is a bit tired but it is a very old building. Could do with more parking if possible.

Zentral gelegen, Turmzimmer mit Erker und netter Sitzecke zum Meer.

Sehr schlechte Betten (durchgesehene weichen Federkernmatratzen, bei denen sich die Federn lösten), der Müll der vorherigen Gäste war noch im Mülleimer. Nachts lief die ganze Zeit das Kühlagregat des unter dem Fenster gelegenen Fischladens.

Everything about this hotel....Shrivam was excellent in all that he did for us during our stay.

The only complaint was the lift..really needs updated.

Lovely welcome from Jurgita on the front desk. Stunning sea and sunset view from the big bright room. Decent breakfast.

Shower took 3 mi utes to warm up and was not too powerful.

The location was excellent. We could find the hotel easily.

The floor would be better to sleep on than the beds. We stayed in two different rooms and the beds were awful. The elevator is very old and a woman cut her hand trying to open it. The staff were not sympathetic to her problem.

La poizione è pazzesca; comodo il parcheggio riservato per gli ospiti. Se non si trova posto (i parcheggi sono pochi, circa 7) si può parcheggiare nel piazzale.antistante a pagamento.

Really clean, recently refurbished(?) old hotel, right in the centre of Oban. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on breakfast or dinner, but the room was great with a wonderful view over Oban's beach and the ferry terminal. We had to pay for parking (we didn't snag one of the hotel's spaces) but it wasn't expensive and the parking is right next to the hotel

The reception desk wasn't always staffed so we sometimes had to wait to to speak to someone

Location excellent at the marina. Close to everything in the town. Friendly staff and breakfast was great. Best sea views from the bed and room we've ever had. 2 comfy chairs and table at the window was terrific for looking at the views.

Lots of stairs and no customer lift. We used the service lift, which was old and tiny, but needed for staff cleaning the rooms.

Lift was ancient and you had to slide metal doors open and it took forever my friend who could hardly walk had to climb 3 flights of stairs because of this , beds were terrible

in diesem Columba Hotel war soweit alles gut. es ist ein historisches Haus, aber im Gegensatz zum Columba in Inverness soweit gepflegt und das Personal ist hilfsbereit.

Dostałam upgrade. Bardzo syoatyczny i uczynny recepcjonista. Pomoc w zamówieniu taxi, przechowanie bagażu.

For an hotel in an old building, it was fine. I loved the lift. The staff were friendly and courteous and the supper, steak and ale pie, was very good.

All things considered, there was nothing that was below my expectations.

The location was excellent and the size of the room really good.

The breakfast was not very good - particularly bad coffee and cereal.

Emplacement parfait au centre d'Oban, bel hôtel dans son jus, très confortable. Grandes chambres avec vue sur le port/la ville. Facilité de trouver ce qui est nécessaire sous la main. Parking très aisé mais non assuré (si plein, parking très compliqué en ville).

Posizione perfetta per girare Oban o prendere il traghetto per varie escursioni come Mull, Iona o Staffa.

Purtroppo la struttura è molto datata e necessiterebbe di essere rimodernata, le immagini delle camere non rispecchiano poi la realtà. Per il parcheggio, pochi posti gratuiti, il resto a pagamento, circa 10 sterline al giorno.

me faltó que en un hotel de esta categoría no tuviera mas plazas de parking. Al parecer solo tienen 6.

The hotel’s location was its best feature.

It is VERY old and needs to be updated. The lift is too small to have two people inside each with one piece of luggage. The rooms were hot, with no explanation of how to control the temperature. There were not adequate plugs to charge our electronics. We had to unplug the TV to use the outlet to charge a cellphone. We LOVE antique hotels that are well-kept. This one definitely needs some TLC!

The location is perfect getting around the town. The staff would exceptionally helpful and friendly the bar and the restaurant are very fairly priced but the best bit was the size iand the comfort of our room, 305. The views were outstanding also.

To be honest, there wasn’t anything I didn’t like about it.

The lady on the reception was very friendly and clear with her roundup of everything we needed to know.

The room we were placed in was a level above one of the main nightlife venues in Oban, the window doesn’t shut properly, possibly due to the thick layer of paint that it has been drenched in. We were due for an early exit in the morning so the loud music from across the way was rather detrimental to that. The bed was very uncomfortable, as were the pillows which didn’t help in this matter. The bar was very steep in price compared to some of the establishments we went to around Oban. It was fine for a night, wouldn’t be in a rush to go back, and for £140 per night, I’d say it was a prettt unenjoyable experience.

The location of the hotel is convenient, a short walk from station/ferry.

I mentioned a preference for a quiet room and our allocated room was right above a pub where there was music till 1 AM and then people continued sitting and shouting until 2 AM - we had two sleepless nights. Staff at check in was efficient, but noone ever asked us how was our stay. So the hotel does not really give a feeling the staff is bothered about the comfort of guests.
