The lady on the front desk (surname was NOONAN) prior to booking and upon check in was super helpful throughout. The staff in the restaurant were equally fantastic. This was a last minute booking needed owing to family emergency and we could not have asked for more.

If we were pushed to be critical, the room.was a bit smalll but we were only there one night.

Bed very uncomfortable, pillows like bricks. No alternative pillows in room to swop. Bedroom needs deep clean and upgrade. Dining area and bar area lovely shame rooms don’t reflect those areas.

Good location just off motorway. Handy for booking multiple rooms for a large party attending family wedding. Plenty of room for sitting and chatting in bar. A good breakfast, with fab gluten free selection with separate toaster. Rooms were clean and tidy, rooms were quiet at night. Plenty of parking.

After a long journey from London we had a very warm welcome from the receptionist. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast delicious!

Dated. In places - poor condition! Access from the main road hidden road difficult, especially at night! Certain functionality not working properly - sink plug jammed, tv dated, shower system a little ‘hit and miss’! Air conditioning unit a little noisy and no ‘happy medium’ re settings!

We were going to a wedding and Caitlin on reception did everything she could to get us an early check-in, great customer care, we really appreciated it.

Room was not cleaned before arrival. Bed was made but clearly the sheets werent changed as there were hair left over from previous guest’s body. The cups in the room even had lipstick marks from previous guest’s. This was highlighted to two managers. One of the managers witnessed the cups with lipstick marks and body on hair sheets. Both were changed at night time. Whole night AC had a water bubble sound every other minute which made it difficult to sleep in a quite room.

The easy and free parking in a good location.

Car park is managed by ParkingEye - the check-in console at the desk did not seem to be working. I entered my registration correctly but the machine did not seem to accept. I took a photo of the screen as I felt there may be some come back. The desk staff said the machine had only been installed a few days before and they didn’t understand it either. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I have a £100 fine from ParkingEye. I lodged an appeal with them with photographic evidence that I entered the reg of my vehicle correctly, and also that I was entitled to free parking as a guest of Holiday Inn. They have reduced the fine to £20 on condition I pay within 14days, and that I forfeit this ‘offer’ if I appeal further via POPLA. This tells me they have low confidence they can make this stick. Internet search shows >50% of appeals against this company are successful. Life is too short, so I have paid the £20. There is no point in me howling at the moon with a poor review of Parking Eye - not surprisingly they have 98% 1 star reviews on TrustPilot. It is however worth my while leaving a negative review for Holiday Inn. I can’t understand why Holiday Inn would use such a company to manage parking at their establishment. The business model of companies like ParkingEye, particularly when managing free parking, must rely on tactics that aim to defraud customers of Holiday Inn. There is plenty of evidence of such tactics in TrustPilot reviews. Other than the experience with ParkingEye, I have a very pleasurable stay with a clean room and pleasant staff.

The rooms in this hotel are generous. The aircon was effective. Staff were super helpful. Breakfast buffet was excellent. I’d favour this hotel over any other local alternative.

The perfect overnight stopover heading up to a Wedding in North Yorks leaving a short 1hr journey the next morning. The hotel is right next to the M1 for easy access and we just bought some food from the nearby M&S in the southbound M1 services and ate it in the room watching the football (a 5 min detour to go South and then North again). The staff were happy to give us plates and cutlery and were very helpful and friendly all round. Bed was very comfy, the air con a necessity in the heatwave and the buffet breakfast (cooked and continental options) was also very good and excellent value booked with the room in advance. Would defo use again.

Air con in our room was very noisy, reported to reception and will hopefully be sorted for the next guests. Other than that was faultless.

The Staff could not do enough for you. Fantastic 3rd time staying there highly recommended

We were 3 guests and only towels for 2 were supplied along with only 2 cups

The hotel is clean and presentable and suits my needs , l have stoppedbefore

The cooked breakfast was only medioca. The majority was well done to say the least, probably due to the time spent in the ban Marie. In my view if breakfast is a 3 hour slot having food on the pass that long keeping warm can only reduce the quality. The bacon was hard along with the fried egg, the sausage and scrambled egg was tasteless. Also thebar prices where a bit steep.

The whole experience from stepping in the door was really good, friendly and helpful staff. the food was good, the room was good, and very quiet, which my wife asked for. On the whole a very enjoyable stay.

Could do with softer pillows. this is very minor.

Breakfast was reasonably good as regards cooked food although the staff were constantly playing catch up. good selection of fruit. Room a bit smaller than other Holiday Inns we have used.

Prices at the bar were high and service at the bar slow. Understaffing?

This was our 6th time staying at this hotel and we feel so at home there now. Staff are so friendly and helpful, hotel and room exceptionally clean, comfortable beds, parking and access to rooms are great, fantastic food (breakfast and dinner), beautifully decorated, fresh and bright, easy to find.

Room wasn't huge but it was all we needed and it was clean. Bed was good and comfortable, that staff were pleasant and it was a very nice and quiet time which helps when you need to sleep. Overall, a very positive and it isn't my first time staying and won't be my last

Comfy bed, clean bathroom

Pre requested cot and sofa bed, bed wasnt made up , no cot in the room. Couldn't get the kids to bed until gone 1am because of this. Took ages to get any bedding. One side light bulb didnt work , no bath mat. Had to request one. Room wasnt replenished after the first night where the other room on the same booking was. Previous guest sock under the bed so not throughly cleaned. To little plug sockets. Pre booked breakfast and ended up paying extra. Only noticed when they called to complain that we hadn't paid the breakfast bill although we prepaid at the bar. Now waiting on a refund for the difference.
