Room was a bit small. No room for two suitcases to be open without tripping over them.

Piscina nelle foto sembra stupenda in realtà una pozza tra 4 mura in cui si muore di caldo. Moquette ovunque, camere sporche, water separato e odore di fumo.

This was our second time at Hotel Roi René Aix. We absolutely loved everything. From the welcoming at the reception, room - and this year we got an upgrade with a wonderful balcony overlooking swimming pool, breakfast is fabulous, staff so nice and accommodating.

Lovely hotel 2nd time staying here & would return. Well positioned for town. Excellent breakfast choice & staff really good.

No parking places available during the visit and my car has been towed away

Beautifully decorated and conveniently located. Front desk staff very nice and helpful. Safe and decent food.

Got bitten on the pull out beds over two nights / as did my father, on the same pull out, asked to move rooms and did so 24 hours later however was not offered a refund or discount for the night. Also the AC broke the following night so it was hot in the room and it was fixed the following day. Pool attendant was not responsive or proactive, would disappear for periods of time and when you tried to get his attention he would ignore most of the time.

De kamer en hoe schoon het is! De schoonmaak en de bedden waren super goed. Het ontbijt was ook veel keuze en was heel lekker! Parkeren in de garage was ook top! deed zeker aan onze verwachtingen. Personeel was ook behulpzaam en vriendelijk!

er viel niks tegen. ikzelf vond alleen misschien het zwembad en plekken te weinig voor het hotel. Iedereen doet in de ochtend spullen neerleggen en dan is er geen plek meer.

À deux pas du cours Mirabeau et des commerces.. Chambre très confortable et cosy, décoration soignée, produis Fragonard dans la salle de bain et de nombreux kits (couture, dentaire, brosse…) tout ce qu’on aime pour un hôtel de cette catégorie

O quarto e o hotel no geral são muito confortáveis. A localização é muito próxima do centro, 5´ a pé.

A cama extra é um sofá individual muito pequeno e desconfortável. Não se ajusta à qualidade do hotel.

La habitación hermosa y muy cómoda, limpia. Jabones Fragonard. Batas y toallas de muy buena calidad. Los espacios comunes muy amplios y muy lindos.

Posizione vicino al centro di Aix ottimale. Di fianco all’hotel c’è una boulangerie con i migliori croissant che abbia mai mangiato, valida alternativa per chi non volesse fare la colazione in hotel.

Piscina piccola e non pulitissima. Il parcheggio dell’auto è solo di prenotazione e costa 33 euro al giorno. Alla seconda sera non avevano segnato la nostra prenotazione e non volevano farci parcheggiare….

Excellent location and easy walking distance of main shopping/eating road and Old Town. Decor in hotel common and areas cool (newly refurbed).

The showers in our room were very weak. Be aware that the pool/poolside are quite small and fill up quickly.

This was the perfect hotel for exploring Aix - we walked directly into town in about 5 minutes which allowed us to come and go several times during our stay. We loved the pool!! Staff were excellent at addressing our air conditioning in the room which wasn’t working very well. Overall a wonderful experience, I would highly recommend!

Some rooms were not upgraded which we didn’t mind but would be good to know upon booking whether you are getting a renovated room.

The perfect location for exploring beautiful Aix. The hotel is beautiful great food. The restaurant in the evening has a lovely menu which we enjoyed on both nights of our stay. The pool area is perfect area to cool down after site seeing! The beds are the comfiest we’ve ever slept in. Overall a beautiful well run hotel which deserves its success.

Good location, nice decor

Not good value for money. Service very poor or slow (apart from one great professional waitress) Lower than average breakfast and at 30 euros, it’s terrible! Dinner starters were nice but main courses really not nice at all. The bar had the worst service! The pool area is unbearably hot, no one could walk around. Poor access and not very clean water. Rooms were fine. We will not be returning because there is much better out there!

The Grand Hôtel Roi René in Aix looked good in photos.. But I have never had a more disfunctional room for a traveler. Absolutely no place for luggage to sit open for access. Everything in the hotel cost extra. It was all over priced. Beware the breakfast. €32 per person for sub par spread. Dining room was only average with fancy prices. The only good thing I can say about it was that the location was good.

This was the most dysfunctional room design I’ve never seen. There was no one place to open a suitcase and leave it open for use.

The breakfast was not worth €32 per person. Very poor spread. The carpets were tattered in front of our room. Dinner was,poor and too expensive. And the room is not laid out for a traveler.

Everything was absolutely perfect: The incredible staff; the beautiful, comfortable, sparkling clean room (the best lit room we've ever had in 40 years of travel), the central yet quiet location; the parking; the bar.

We loved every aspect of this hotel.

Booking.com vastly overpriced this. I have contacted them, got a courtesy reply but no follow up. We paid around 3300 pounds for a deluxe room in mid June. Prices for the rest of the summer are well below this

Pedí como el año pasado una habitación superior y claramente no lo era. Lo reclamé y la persona que estaba en el front desk me dijo no muy amablemente qué mi habitación estaba bien y que como había un evento era así. La ducha se desbordaba toda y quedaba todo mojado. La cortina estaba rota y realmente el tolete tenía el mismo olor a baño de avión . En el desayuno , no me traían el café o tardaban mucho. Nada que ver el servicio en comparación al año pasado. Lamentablemente no volveré

Rien n’est luxe . L’hôtel est une cuvette oú il fait plus chaud que dans la ville . Les chambres sont petites. Le menu est limité et pas bon. Le bar ferme à minuit… en Provence, pour un mariage … on souhaiterait avoir un room service 24/24. En revanche, le personnel, pour l’essentiel est très gentil. Pas d’eau chaude un matin… les chambres , même avec balcon, un peu petites pour le prix … bref … pas 4 étoiles …

manque de service, pas de garage disponible, pas de voiturier, personne pour vous accueillir, lamentable, excellent restaurant, excellent petit déjeuner. Par contre réception et conciergerie pas au niveau. En plus l’hôtel est c’est un peu l’usine les climatisations..à mon avis les filtres sont pas changés. souvent j’aimerais bien avoir la preuve et moi j’ai attrapé le COVID dans cet hôtel, que certainement avec des vieux virus de leurs vieilles climatisations pas nettoyées, donc je recommande pas du tout l’endroit, j’émets vraiment des réserves. Ça vaut vraiment pas 400 € une chambre ça classique la piscine aucun intérêt Very disappointing stay for a hotel in this category and at this price point. Positive aspects: the restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast was outstanding. However, the reception and concierge services were not up to the expected standard. There was no valet service, no garage available, and no one to welcome guests upon arrival. The hotel also feels somewhat like a factory, with a lack of personalized attention. I was also concerned about the air conditioning system, as the air quality did not seem satisfactory. During my stay, I unfortunately contracted COVID. While I cannot determine where I was infected, this experience reinforced my negative impression of the overall comfort and environment of the hotel. Finally, the swimming pool was of little interest and certainly did not justify the rates being charged. Overall, I do not believe this hotel is worth €400 per night for a standard room. I cannot recommend it and have serious reservations about its value for money.

Le personnel du bar, très sympathique. La personne qui nous a aidé pour les bagages à l’arrivée.

Le prix inexplicable pour une si petite chambre. La déco de la chambre, complètement vieillotte. La salle d’eau est ridiculement minuscule, encore réduite par la présence des toilettes à l’intérieur, juste séparés par une porte glissante. Le restaurant dont les plats sont insipides. On nous a dit que la carte change tous les mois…. Ce jour-là, c’était « inspiration libanaise »…. Ben, c’était mal inspiré !!! Nous avions prévu d’aller au brunch du dimanche ; nous avons en conséquence annulé. Et nous avons bien fait car après avoir jeté un œil sur le buffet, nous avons constaté qu’il n’avait rien à voir avec le brunch des années précédentes…. Bref, tout est bien trop cher pour le manque de qualité de l’ensemble.

The lobby, bar, and staff were excellent, and the breakfast was fantastic. We booked the most basic room, which was clean, comfortable, and had a good bed.

Nothing to complain about. It would be nice if the basic rooms were updated to better reflect the modern style and atmosphere of the hotel.

Les finitions des chambres rénovées sont loin de valoir un 4 étoiles. L'assise des toilettes n'est pas bien fixée et fait du bruit quand on est assis dessus, le cache en laiton du mitigeur de la baignoire ne tient pas, la lumière qui signale ne pas déranger ou faire la chambre ne fonctionne pas.. Bref un peu décevant étant donné le prix.

The location and the facility were better than expected.

Additionally, I would like to complain about the quality of service during my stay. The staff were consistently unhelpful and kept redirecting me from one person to another instead of resolving simple requests. The level of service did not match the price charged by the hotel. For example: * At the pool, there were no towels available. When I asked reception, I was told to ask the pool staff. The pool staff then said they were busy and would bring one later. When I offered to take one myself, I was told I was not allowed to enter the area. I eventually received a towel around 40 minutes later. * During breakfast, I requested tea and only received it after reminding the staff three times. Overall, the service was disorganized, inattentive, and far below acceptable hospitality standards. Combined with the unexpected additional charge, this created a very disappointing experience.

Unser Zimmer war klein und schlecht aufgeteilt. Renoviert wurde, aber leider sehr schlampig und billig. Parkplätze nicht gut zu erreichen

The new design and the renovated rooms are good value for money, the breakfast is very extensive especially for France , location is great only few min walk to the center, very dog friendly he was allowed at breakfast but not at the pool.

The gym is a 10 min walk and external - so be aware as it’s advertised as having a private gym.
