Well located for a walk into town or down to the river. Quirky loft room, perfect for a short stay as not huge amounts of storage due to it being a small room. Very friendly host and the “extra” touches (such as a couple of chocolates in the room and home made cakes) were above and beyond- and much appreciated!

Clean, very well provided for, really great at providing gluten free options. There was nothing they hadn't thought of, down to homemade cakes and marmalade, the room even had gowns and slippers, sewing kit and all kinds of helpful things. Chatty welcoming owner.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay in Shrewsbury. Louise was extremely welcoming, our twin room was beautifully set up and breakfast delicious. The fresh baked treats available for guests during the day was a lovely touch.

Anton Guest house is the best bed and breakfast we have stayed in ever. The location is perfect to explore Shrewsbury. We were made to feel very welcome and pampered. Food was truly exceptional

Parking is a bit of a challenge but not a deal breaker

The dressing gowns abd slppers were not soft and the slippers idid not use as they were old and been used before and unless the weather was nice it was to far to walk into town we got a taxi each of the three days we spent there to town and back again we could of got the bus but none on a sunday and irregular time table on otherdays

Such a beautiful house and so cosy! Loved the availability for parking right in front of the property. Great amenities and comfortable rooms - you have everything you could possibly need! The owner was incredibly hospitable and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. She treated us to plenty of snacks, including freshly baked cakes, and provided a fantastic breakfast in the morning. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Friendly welcome on arrival. Lovely room on the second floor (we were in Room 5) with all you would need. Comfortable bed and good shower. Delicious cake on arrival and breakfast in the morning which was freshly made. Louise was friendly and helpful and we liked how she made time to chat to us. Parking on the street just outside the property was a bonus. All in all a lovely nights stay.

The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast outstanding and kept us full all day, all freshly cooked to order and so much choice. You are greeted with a small immaculate kept garden. We stayed in room number 2. The furniture is old but beautiful & fitting with the house. I found the bed to be very comfortable with good quality bedding. There was everything you could possibly need in the room, as Louise had thought of everything, from sewing kit to face wipes! The breakfast was exceptional.

Everything is perfect at Louise’s: it’s just a stone’s throw from the town centre, the welcome is lovely, the room is very comfortable, and it’s the best breakfast we’ve had in the 15 days we’ve spent in England (and we French are a bit fussy, aren’t we? :) )… if you’re thinking of staying in the area, don’t hesitate for a second!

The welcome and attention you receive from the hosts Louise and Peter is second to none. The food is first rate and vegan options are available. The house is in an ideal location for visiting Shrewsbury and the comprehensive guide in the room gives all the info you need for sites, pubs, takeaways etc etc, you'd ever need to know. My son and I have stayed here twice now and if I ever come back to Shrewsbury I wouldn't consider booking anywhere else.

Shrewsbury was okay

We were travelling from Dorset on a round trip to Berwick upon Tweed to visit family and booked a total of 6 hotels and B & Bs. Anton House was the most expensive, especially after we had to pay an additional £20.00 to move from a twin room on the top floor in a heat wave. The room and bathroom were very small. Breakfast was ok. but not exceptional. We paid £135.00 for B & B, but would say it was £50.00 over-priced compared to other bookings on the trip.

This property is a gem, only a 15-minutes walk to the town centre! The hosts were great, checking what time we'd arrive and welcoming us with delicious homemade pastries. Cake was available for free everyday. A perfect place to stay if you're visiting the town, with tailored recommendations for attractions, restaurants and pubs in a folder in the room and from the hosts. The rooms were in pristine condition with very high quality furnishings and supplies. Likewise, the breakfast was of very high standard. The small garden around the property had a variety of biodiversity to explore. Put simply, the hosts have thought about everything that a traveller would love. There is free parking along the streets. I highly recommend this property.

Das B&B liegt am Stadtrand von Shrewsbury, einer historischen Stadt mit einem unerwartet hohen Anteil an mittelalterlichen Fachwerkhäusern. Nach einem kleinen Spaziergang von 20 Minuten ist das Stadtzentrum erreicht und es lohnt sich ein Bummel durch die engen Gassen mit den gut restaurierten Gebäuden. Neben Handwerklichem und Kunst kann die Markthalle besucht werden und auch ein Blick auf die Statue von Charles Darwin vor der alten Bibliothek lohnt sich. Das B@B befindet sich in einem typisch englischen Haus mit Zimmern auf den Etagen. Ein kleiner gepflegter Garten empfängt die Gäste und im Frühstückraum stehen Kuchen, Tee und Getränke zur Selbstbedienung bereit. Das Frühstück besteht aus den typischen Gerichten, ergänzt um Porrige und weitere Extras

Louise was very welcoming and friendly. She provided cake, that you could help yourself to during and cold milk from the fridge. There were fans in the bedroom 👍 The room and facilities were spotless and comfy. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.

louise host was such a lovely lady such a lovely gesture of homemade flapjacks which was delicious. Louise made sure you had everything u needed and guided you to best places to go and where to eat

Louise, l'hôtesse d'Anton, est très accueillante. Les chambres sont décorées comme je les aime, très cocooning. L'établissement possède un petit jardin, tout mignon et très bien entretenu. J'ai apprécié l'excellent petit-déjeuner choisi à la carte, la veille.

A brief 15 minutes to town centre and a fabulous breakfast at Anton Guest House to start the day. Beautiful array of floral items in the petite garden.

Charming old-England atmosphere, thoughtful touches like cake & milk on arrival and chocolates in the room. Delightful warm hosts.

Third floor room was a bit too warm, but there was a fan provided.

Excellent & enjoyable visit. Louise was very friendly and chatty and made us feel very welcome. Our top floor room was clean and comfortable. A kettle and an assortment of teas, coffee and biscuits were awaiting us in the room and replenished during our stay. Breakfast - amazing choice. Food was plentiful, well cooked and tasty. Complimentary cake - Louise provided wonderful complimentary home baked sponge cakes in the dining room and encouraged us to help ourselves. We did! Not yet anaged to shed the extra weight we put on and we were nearly expelled from our local Weightwatchers Group when we attended our next Weigh In!! Apparently, the idea is to lose weight not put it on🫢🫢 Every day is a School Day😂 Anton Guest House is located an easy 20 minute walk from Shrewsbury Centre with its historic buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants. Evening Meal - There is an excellent pub just five minutes walk from the guesthouse which offers great Indian cuisine and a traditional pub food menu. A great selection of beers, wines etc too. We ate there both nights of our stay as we did not want to walk back into Shrewsbury Centre. A good decision. Would highly recommend Anton Guest House.

The hostess had clearly thought through what you want from an overnight stay and provided nice extra touches. Eg offerred cake on arrival, full range of teas, coffees etc in the room. Ability to help oneself to fresh milk from the breakfast room fridge. Easy. Street parking at tge property.

Nothing stands out, it is a good bed and breakfast. If you are not into walking you may find the walk into town a bit far. But it's a pretty easy walk... and there are alternaive food options very close to the house.

The location was perfect - close by to walk into the downtown area of Shrewsbury. Parking was on the street and easy to find a space. The host was wonderful - welcoming, friendly, helpful and made yummy lemon cake for guests arriving. Our room was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the tables were so beautifully set with English china dishes and linens. A short but utterly delightful stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Anton Guest House and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shrewsbury. From the moment we arrived, Louise made us feel incredibly welcome. The facilities were excellent, with everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Our room was spotless, well-equipped, and very comfortable. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a great selection of excellent options to suit all tastes, all freshly prepared to a high standard. The home-baked cakes were a lovely touch and really added to the overall experience! The location has good local amenities including a corner shop and pub within a few minutes walk and is a fifteen minute walk from Shrewsbury town centre. All in all, a fantastic stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would certainly recommend it to others.

Louise the owner was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast quality and options was very good, particularly for a guest house. Room was clean and well stocked with tea, coffee etc and everything you’re likely to need.

Nothing to dislike, parking on street is free but available but spaces may be limited close to the property. We did managed to park a few metres away. However the whole street is free of parking restrictions so spaces should be available.

Louise made us very welcome when we arrived, homemade cake and very helpful with ideas of where to eat in the Town. The Guest House is ideally situated just a short 10 minute walk into the centre along the English Bridge.

Freshly made, very tasty and abundant breakfast. Snacks and freshly baked cakes available all day in the dining room. Comfortable bedroom with everything needed for a short stay. Although the room faced a noisy main road, we slept very well. Free on-demand TV, which is unusual. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Louise was very welcoming and gave some super advice on places to see and places to eat. The room was very quiet and comfortable with facilities for hot drinks and TV with Netflix. The bathroom was very clean and the shower good. Breakfast was superb, I had the full English both mornings but there was a wide variety of options on the menu and also cake available if you fancied it. Thank you for making me feel at home.

Everything provided for a great stay. In particular the breakfasts were excellent with a great variety of choice.

Excellent location and walk into town. Our host Louise was wonderful and gave good insights for town. Breakfast had amazing options, chosen the night before and once provided was delicious. There was a fridge if we wanted to store drinks, there was homemade cake for afternoon tea. Comfortable room and linen. The stairway to the room is narrow, we just took our toiletries and clothes with us, so no need to carry all our luggage to the room.

Good location, short walk from city centre. Hot breakfast was well cooked. Home baked cake a really nice extra. Good information from host and in rooms of surrounding area. In room extras were generously replenished. Glimpsed double rooms which were larger than ours and had wardrobes so main problem was with our twin room and not the property itself.

Our room, 4, was very small with no wardrobe space. Would not be suitable for taller guests due to sloping ceilings. A twin bedded room with one bed uncomfortable and squeaking at any movement. May have been heard by neighbours as we could easily hear their snoring. Poor soundproofing between rooms, and from the trains which were very obvious whenever they passed by. Buffet options at breakfast were limited with toast always the last hot option served even if the only item requested.

We had a fabulous stay at Anton house. The hosts were very welcoming. The location was perfect , just far enough out of the centre that there was ample free parking . The breakfast was absolutely delicious with lots of choices. The extra touches we didn't expect such as cakes and lindt chocolates were a welcome surprise. Can't recommend this enough . You will not be disappointed.

There were so many extra special touches - home made cakes and biscuits, fruit and milk available to help yourself to, so many different teas and other drinks to choose from in the room, well appointed rooms and great shower and incredible breakfast choices including excellent vegetarian options.

We received such a warm welcome from our host, who gave us helpful suggestions on where to eat to suit our dietary needs. The room was very clean with lots of extras, like the up to date magazines for reading, and many tea and coffee choices. There was a fridge in dining room with oat milk we could help ourselves to for our room. The breakfast options for vegan and vegetarians were very tasty. Parking was easy near The Anton.

Next time I'd book direct with The Anton. Booking.com said there were no double rooms available but when we arrived we found there were.

Great location for exploring Shrewsbury. We loved everything about the Anton b and b. Best we've stayed in. Louise was super friendly informative and definitely went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. Bfast was fabulous with a wide variety of choice which was then freshly cooked and well presented. There were very nice freshly baked home made cakes free to help yourself in a common rpom available throughout the stay The bedroom was well equipped and the bed was very very comfy.

Confortable home from home Welcoming Host

This is our second stay at Anton House B&B this year. Overall both our stays were very good. Could not fault anything. Room and bed were very comfortable and clean, good hot shower. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice on the menu to suit everyone. Good quiet location and only 10 to 12 minutes walk into town. Shrewsbury is a very interesting place and worth a visit.
