Helpful and friendly staff enjoyed our stay would stay there again

Fantastic location. Modern rooms. Staff all excellent and very friendly. (Even the grumpy chap on the night wouldn't put us off returning - A misunderstanding on the evening when the external door wouldn't work with our card or codes provided)

All great. Worth noting that parking ISNT provided so unsure why your booking website states it does. This was another cost onto of the hotel and a 3 minute walk

Was told we could get a 50% for car park down the road, asked for it ths following morning and was told by different staff they didnt do them any more cost us £20 for parking.. Bed was very hard. Breakfast wasnt very good. Especially for £24 ..Sausage tasteless, bacon a bit undercooked, scrambled egg undercooked and full of seasoning. Not a nice taste..

The location in the centre was great, easy to find your way around Chester. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Paul and Lucas who were on reception while we were there.

We enjoyed our stay very much, an easy stroll along the river from our car park, a beautiful old house in one of Chester's lovely streets, a spacious room with comfy beds and a very good breakfast with friendly staff, thanks a lot!

Location in the centre of Chester was perfect. Compact accommodation but fine for short stays. Very nice staff and great breakfast.

No car parking facilities which for a city centre is understandably, but 24 hr parking in nearby multi-story car park at £16 was a tad steep!

The room was too small with only 2 very small windows and too many very low ceilings and the bathroom was ridiculously small . There were an horrendous amount of stairs and no one even offered to help with bags as I’m nearly 60 and my husband is nearly 70

We were on the 2nd floor with no stairs. It was a hot 24 hours and the window only opens 2-3cms, so room was very hot overnight, despite fan being on. The bathroom sink was tiny, we were unable to lean over sink to brush teeth. We paid for breakfast, which we were advised was ‘The best in Chester’. We were given only one egg and the hash brown and bacon were overcooked. The rest of the breakfast was good.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything in room was spotlessly clean. Options for TV viewing in the evening after walking all day were excellent. Breakfast was very good with traditional options avavlable as well as continental buffet. Great location for walking around Chester. Would definitely stay there again.

Lift would have been nice as we were on the 3rd floor so not ideal if anyone has mobility issues. No air conditioning but fan in the room helped greatly.

The location is fabulous and room spotless Had a small hitch with the shoower but it was sorted in no time. The sttaff are so friendly and very engaging.

Woukd have been nice to javr a main light in the room rather than lamp lighting. Just a suggestion though as it didnt dettract from our stay

The noisy rooms with all movement heard

The room had everything needed for a hotel room, even a full length ironing board. Good selection of tea and coffee and very nice biscuits. the hotel is ideal for places to eat and drink and only a stones throw from the pedestrianised city centre.

We were in room 7 on the third floor, which was quite a climb after a day out exploring, anyone with mobility issues would have found it a challenge. The room was also very warm, but did have a portable electric fan which we definitely needed, even though the heatwave had passed. The hot control on the shower was very hard to turn and my wife was unable to turn it down once in the shower, luckilly I managed to sort it out and make the shower usable.

It was a nice, clean property and well situated, with a pub across the road and cafes close by as well as a short walk into town.

There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like about the property except the price seemed a bit steep. We were four adults sharing a room and I did book two double beds and we got a double and two singles which wasn’t a massive deal but for £364 a night it felt like London prices. There isn’t a lift which also isn’t a problem for the able bodied but mum struggled a bit, but reception did say if they’d known, they’d have put us on a lower level, so that’s good to know.

Room was small & basic given the cost .the bed was broken which we did tell them on arrival but couldn’t be moved to another room there was a slope in room when placed coffee on bedside table it slid off to floor .

Short overnight stay at the apartment. Absolutely brilliant location with supermarket just minutes away. Lots of lovely little bars nearby. Short walk from Chester racecourse. Beautifully clean, comfortable apartment. Will definitely return.

Fabulous location. Staff were brilliant. Having breakfast outdoors was a lovely experience. Nicola at breakfast was wonderful. Breakfast was amazing with huge variety of continental, cooked and cold choices. Too many to choose from!

We booked on the day after leaving unsatisfactory accommodation and the hotel happily accepted us complete with our dog. The location on the hill down to the river is good - note that there are steps up to the main front door, but presumably another entrance round the back. We understand that there is also a very small carpark. Our room was huge with a v large bed and a single bed. Tea and coffee with biscuits all provided. Window opened and there was a fan - there was a heatwave. Downstairs the lounge area was lovely, and there was further seating area on a patio and the 'secret garden'.# Breakfast was good, a choice of cereals and pastries or a cooked meal complete with juice and hot drinks.

One night stay

We loved the locality, just a few steps away from the centre of town, also only a short walk to the canal. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The pillows are not so comfortable so I would maybe consider taking my own at our next visit. Staff are very helpful. Breakfast is delicious and a great choice of menu. We stayed last year and will most definitely stay here again.

There is nothing much we disliked. We stayed this year at the front of the property, which because of the World Cup meant late night revellers and it was a little noisy through the night. Last year we faced the back of the building and it was quieter. Everything about the building and the hotel itself was perfect.

If I could pick a fault, the room (No 8) was on the very small size, and I don't cope well with all the Stairs. However having stayed a few times I was aware of this and never stops us returning.

The rooms were large and comfortable in this very well maintained hotel that dates back to the 1600’s (it was someone’s house back then). Our suitcases were carried up the stairs to our rooms on an upper floor, for which we were very grateful. After that, it wasn’t a problem to climb up and down the stairs during our visit. We were within easy walking distance to explore the fascinating town of Chester. The young man at the front desk gave us a good recommendation for a nearby restaurant when we first arrived, and after that we had no problems finding great places to eat, including the breakfast at the hotel. I wish we could find such charming rooms at every hotel in the world where we visit!

The only thing that was inconvenient was something we noticed at every hotel where we stayed in England, that there is no grounded plug in the bathroom for hairdryers. It must be a law not to have them! But it was a minor inconvenience.

Room was on the very top floor so the loft. The heat was completly unbearable. It had a tiny window and that was it.

Walls were a little thin. Could hear next doors TV and people talking. Floor was creaky but I think we were above the reception so didn’t matter.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a Travelzoo offer and it was very good. Scott on reception is credit to the hotel, very friendly and helpful, gave great advice on where to park and arranged a second fan for the room as the windows didn’t open and the room was boiling hot with just one fan, probably could have done with 2 more!! Excellent location, comfy bed, amazing breakfast and the friendliest of staff all round. We would definitely recommend the hotel and would not hesitate to stay again, maybe when there is not a heatwave! 🥵

Second time at this hotel and found it really good for aid range hotel central location on bridge street great for bars nd restaurants and sightseeing good sized rooms and great breakfast only issue is if you have mobility problems lots of stairs

Location is excellent, a bit away from the noise of city center, but close enough for easy walk. Staff was usually friendly and helpful, e.g. to provide an adaptor for the UK mains plug. Shower.

The Hotel has no elevator, nor Airconditioning in the room. I understand that the heat wave 06/2026 was exceptional, but nevertheless, I spent 5 nights soaking in my own sweat. The small movable fan in the room did not do any good. The room was hotter than outside, despite open windows. The entry to the shower is very narrow. With beer belly, entry is only possible sideways. There are no mains outlets in the bathroom.

The main outside space was occupied by a private party. And the noise (I would not call the noise "music" but some people might). So I could not have a quiet drink outside and, upon going to my room, the noise level was such that I could not sleep for HOURS!!!!
