Reviewed Sep 18, 2026Ein B&B am Rande von Ilfracombe in einem historischen Gebäude toll renoviert und mit sehr viel Charme. Da in einem Wohngebiet gelegen sehr ruhig und man findet immer kostenlosen Parkplatz an der Straße. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut ausgestattet und das Englisch Frühstück ist sehr gut. Sehr gut gelegen, um mit dem Bus in Richtung Combe Martin zu fahren und von dort Wanderung zu machen und in Richtung Exmoor Nationalpark zu fahren. Aber unschlagbar ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, das war während unserer zweiwöchigen Rundreise durch Südengland das eindeutig günstigste B&B !
Man läuft schon 20-30min ins Zentrum plus einige Höhenmeter. Wir sind dann sogar an einem Abend mit dem Auto zum Essen in den Ort gefahren.

Reviewed Sep 3, 2026Sehr schönes B&B mit sehr netten Besitzern. Sehr schönes Zimmer mit Blick über den Garten über die Hügel aufs Meer. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Man ist zu Guss in 10 min im Stadtzentrum und hat dort eine Auswahl an Restaurants.

The window was a ground level and the only privacy with the curtains open was a one way mirror effect which did not work. The room was as advertised but this is rather small, it has everything you need but its compact.

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Wir wurden sehr zuvorkommend behandelt und haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Zimmer war gut ausgestattet. Die Betten waren sehr gut. Es gab die Möglichkeit Kaffee, Tee und Kakao auf dem Zimmer zu machen. Ein Gemeinschafts-Kühlschrank konnte genutzt werden. Das Haus bietet eine schöne Aussicht auf das Meer. Unser Auto konnten wir problemlos vor dem Haus parken (Anfrage vorab aber nötig). Es gab ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstück. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

There was a communal fridge for guests and a large lounge if you did not want to sit in your room. Knowledgeable staff who were helpful with information about the town.

Reviewed Jun 29, 2026The property was lovely and very clean. It was perfectly located in relation to the town and where we needed to be only a short drive (4mins) and walk (15 mins). Unfortunately we didn't have much interaction with the staff as we were out & about for work at unsociable hours - but they were lovely & helpful on arrival. The area is nice and quiet too.

Potrebbe risultare più rumorosa perchè vicino all'ingresso, ma noi non siamo stati assolutamente disturbarti. Colazione ottima in una sala bella ampia, gentilissimo e supedisponibile il proprietario. Parcheggio facile davantia casa.

The location of Varley House is excellent and only a short walk down to the harbour and town. Being in an elevated position means that the views of the sea and surrounding countryside are great.
I cannot think of anything that needs changing.

Ilfracombe is een gezellig plaatsje om naar de haven te lopen. En wat eten of drinken in de nabijgelegen The Thatched Inn is een aanrader.
