Amaizing stay at Mehari hotel in Tunisia. The hotel was beautiful, very clean, and atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing holiday,The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The food was delicious with a lot of variety every day,and the beach was stuning.I truly enjoyed my vacation.Highly recomended!
Amazing stay in Hammamet! This hotel truly deserves its 5 stars ✨ The entertainment team was absolutely amazing every day — great atmosphere, fun activities, and very professional staff 👏🎶 The food was excellent 🍴😍 A lot of variety, delicious dishes, and great service. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help. Good food ,beautifull place,so close to beach , animatora and waiters is so line and nice
Amazing hotel very good service all the staff are very friendly and always good food not one thing to complain about was such an amazing time
Had a lovely long weekend in Tunisia at Mehari. Service and hospitality was outstanding and the rooms were reasonable and clean. Nightly live music and entertainment is available and facilities for a fun family holiday. Fantastic location too. Staff were great!
Amazing staff, very friendly, great hotel
I have felt soo welcome and safe here! I love the staff they are so friendly and fun! I would recommend any solo to come here, never felt so safe and welcome!
A beautiful place, the room is lovely, the atmosphere is great, and the food is wonderful. A respectable place with respectful and kind staff. Everything about the place is beautiful and difficult to describe. I came to the right place.
So lovely ! Very lovely people so friendly and so good with kids!! So helpful definitely recommend
5/5 We are on our last day of our holiday I took my mother for a quiet relaxing holiday. We have been treated like kings and queens. The staff and people could not have done anymore for us. We tipped the staff because they simply deserved it. Every part of the holiday has been excellent. It has been that good we have booked again to come back in a couple of months hopefully the weather will be better. But no one and no country we have travelled to welcome you more. It’s opened my eyes it really has. Every person living here chips in on keeping the country clean and tidy. We felt safe, happy and content. The hotel was clean and spotless, The food was excellent and all members of the staff from road sweepers to owners go out of their way to make it so. Thank you Tunisia we love you and all your people. Thank you to all the management and security for making us feel just perfect. See you in a couple of months. And thank you again. Edward and kathleen
Although the good location next to to the beach this hotel is nothing else but ghost building during the winter with no atmosphere whatsoever, rooms were clean but so called,, restaurant " not nesesarly, its a canteen accessable from main street and as a 5star venue it has to offer couple of tables of mostly local food some not edible and one plate of sweets nust to put you off the eating there completely, wine at this all inclusive diner served in tumblers, again this hotel advertise as 5 stars, no minibar, no tea, coffee or even kettle in rooms, tv not working, lifts not working, power cut offs all day long, and be prepared to be woken by the drills and hammers as some of the rooms were beeing refurbished, in baur nice barman for our question what is it this container with cloudy water and very oht of date herb doing on the bar answered that the mint for cocktails, that was the cream de la cream and we where off very next day, booked Iberostar hotel to rescue the remining 5 days of our holiday. Nkt recommend in winter at all. Dont ruin your holiday and stay away.
This holiday was booked for my partners birthday, First impression very clean, friendly staff at the reception and then got met by amazing bar staff one in particular Mr Wales lol that’s what he called the mr so he got stuck with it as well lol, and chef nothing was to much for them Main bar Alcohol was limited on the all inclusive vodka was like paint stripper 🤣 whisky, gin was nice and if you want a cocktail go premium it’s 14TD which works out about £3.57 Also had snacks like peanuts, olives and cheese, and there usually some cakes and other snacks. Only down for if a non smoker, be aware they smoke at the bar The double/twin room We had a twin room two separate beds for a couple not a big deal but for some that might be a problem. The room was spacious, clean and tidy on arrival they had snacks and bottle water which was a nice touch, beds was comfortable the toilet was separate from the shower and wash basin wasn’t a problem for us. Balcony was ok, tv had 2 English film channels. The only down for was bedding was not not cleaned as often but twice we did say not to bother as we only arrived and just needed the essentials like towels and toilet roll (which they was tight on lol) 😂 until you ask the boss of maids and you get a pack of 4 toilet rolls, soap and shampoo clean towels etc 😂 she even done 2 swans out of the towels and added flowers etc nothing too much for her. Also the room had carpet was not fussed on that as rather tiled as more hygienic. There was on major issue with the leakage in the toilet which the floor around the toilet was constantly wet and we had to use a spare towel to mop it up and keep it there day after day as we complained about it few times to the reception and nothing was done about it. Pool area Did not use the pool are the pool bar so cant really say much about it, the grass/mud by the pool put us off on day one but it was a small pool looked more like a kids pool but plenty of people used it and sunbathed, they also had a snack bar which yet again did not use. Pool table and some arcade games and table tennis. Day/evening Entertainment Not got involved in the daytime activities but they had plenty to do like zumba, darts, pool, learn to belly dance etc Evening entertainment what we saw of it was a DJ playing music, one night a bloke playing a saxophone but was playing allong to the music, another night one was playing the accordion, then out last night there was a singer who was pretty decent to be honest. The animation team seem lovely enough. Dinning room/food Dinning room was always clean and tidy, the were 2 in particular waiters one that called me mrs swansea (as of my tattoo) lol 😆 so he was known as Mr Swansea, and Uncle (dont know name lol) he was the one that always worked on the left as you went into the restaurant, he made sure we had seating, bottle of water, and the usual diet cole and sprite we didnt even had to tip him (which we did after a few days as we appreciated the effort and hard work he put into looking after us the whole holiday) also spoke amazing english and he was amazing and worked very had. Then there was the pasta chef (he tossed that pasta as no one was watching lol 😆 ) he spoke really good English (most staff did) his pasta bolognese was always on point it was banging (best dish in the restaurant) The breakfast only went 3 times day 1 and the last 2 days Was really basic not too fussed on breakfast anyway lol 😆 Lunch and dinner was same thing different day kinda thing Pizza, chips, salad, chicken (was nice), beef stew (quite fatty on times) Fish, pasta, breads ice cream and cakes etc Spar and gym: Gym not used so can't really comment on that The spar treatment was amazing variety of packages, and reasonable prices also we was allowed to use the salt water pool every day if needed even though that's usually extra charge. Between each treatment you get flavoured infused tea. The team reassured us every step of the way as they knew i was a bitlow in my self-esteem and image but that dont bother them as they said they don't judge people or even look at you for your size or shape etc The grand bizzar is walking distance go out the back entrance and turn right and its small walk to it not that cheap if carry on walking you come to more shops and they seemed to be cheaper and hassle free
Rooms need a refresh everything is a little tired but comfortable. Did have a leak in toilet everytime room above flushed we would have a puddle of dirty toilet water coming out of the hatch above our toilet reported many times nothing was ever done so left towel to soak it up that was changed everyday by cleaner. No kettle in room so need to wait until 8am for bar to open if want a coffee. Smoking is aloud in bar and lobby incase you don’t like smoking. Room cleaning was very basic just replacing towels, sometimes adding toilet paper 1 roll every few days and fixing the bed. Food pretty much the same every meal so plan for a couple of meals out. The organisation in the restaurant is poor, grilled meat was often hard, most hot dishes were served lukewarm. The waiter that looked after us worked very hard nothing was ever 2 much soon he saw us he would send someone to go get us our drinks remembered from the first time and always found and set us up a table. Good location Approx 30 min walk to harbour (center) but 5 min from waterpark etc. At the beach bar, beer is charged shameful for an “all-inclusive”. Public toilets in the hotel were dirty, without towels or toilet paper almost every day, locks in ladies never worked. Spa was great for the money spent.
I wasn’t going to review this holiday, but recent reviews( which I have kept up to date with have prompted me to On arrival the hotel looks very inviting . We asked if we could pay our tourist tax £67, but were told we could only pay in cash! Alarm bells should have rung. We paid in cash and asked for a receipt , but were told ‘ it was on the system, no receipt necessary’! The room was ok, toilet was leaking, no coffee or tea facilities . Toilet was allegedly fixed, but continued leaking for the whole ten days. The real positive here is the staff who were always smiling and helpful( well most of them) First morning at breakfast was like rugby scrum as there was a conference taking place . There were 2 , 2 slice toasters for the entire restaurant and one didn’t even work! It was complete chaos and the restaurant manager didn’t seem interested. The pool, don’t be deceived by the lush green grass surrounding the pool area it was just dust, dirt , broken plastic cutlery and cigarette ends. We did show pictures to the management team who said it would be cleared up, bear in mind you had to walk through this mess to get in the pool! Not a pleasant experience The next day we were informed that there was a wedding for 300 plus guests happening! They all arrived at the same time in the restaurant and there was little consideration for guests. People were piling their plates and not eating most of the food! Again like a rugby scrum. When we went in for dinner in the evening the queues came out of the doors We were quite upset , but a manager took us to there a la carte restaurant, The next morning was total chaos as all the guests again arrived at thesame time. This was one of 2 weddings and 3 conferences that we were not informed about. The food was below average, I informed them that I didn’t eat fish and was given an omelette!. Somewhere along the line there was cross contamination of fish, and shellfish as I had an allergic reaction! A few days into the holiday all the poolside furniture was stacked up and the bar facilities removed, as well as the beach parasols and beach bar! It was downhill from there Building works on the main road, traffic noise and the constant rumble of the furniture from pool being moved. Not a pleasant or relaxing experience. The receptionist staff were completely uninterested, but miraculously took a card payment for the late check out charge! This is only the tip of the iceberg of all the things that happened. The hotel nowhere near a 5 star, we did write to our holiday company who said that the rating was fair!but did not acknowledge the shortcomings! We are well travelled and this was by far the worst holiday experience ever. Please look at the reviews before you book, there is a general theme!
I would love to say good things about food plenty of choice but what lets it down is temperature of the food. Rice, fish dishes even soup were below what in uk is safe standard temperature for safe eating. I had enough today had to ask for the soup to be heated up. Im stuck to either what are I would be safe foods at this hotel I stayed in Tunisia before used other places and hotels in Tunisia . The Staff here are so helpful and pleasant can’t fault them. Room cleaners amazing doing fantastic job. Waiter’s excellent and receptionist pleasant. The spa I can say has been amazing too treatments wonderful The hotel biggest let down is catering not in the food quality but the actual temperature which food is kept at. There is heat plates but I can say honestly not at a setting to keep food at correct safe temperatures for food regulations minimum. Come on Mahari sort this
Honestly, a fantastic stay relaxing atmosphère, friendly staff, and everything was well organized. I truly enjoyed my time and would gladly return
Booked this hotel for 7 nights and 8 days for a family holiday . On arrival we informed the reception that we are all vegetarian and we have a special child who only eats plain boiled rice , the restaurant was closed by the time we reached so we were offered room service . We informed the reception again that we are vegetarian , 10 minutes after checking in the room we received a cold dinner in our room with a meat platter . Bedding in the room was filthy and very poor state , Duvet covers were ripped off, mini fridge area was absolutely disgusting, couple of light bulbs in the room were not working. Phone provided in the room was out of service . No slippers provided, No WIFI service ( I am sure these are all basic things which needs to be done right at every hotel and you are claiming your hotel to be a five star) , when informed at reception we were told that everything will be fixed next day . Next day we never received any plain rice for our special child who for lunch , after complaining again on reception , we were given rice floating in hot water during dinner. No slippers given even after several reminders . When we went to use the pool there were no towels left for us to use at 4.30pm . My friend’s wife fell sick after having lunch and she has been vomiting all evening . We wanted to address this to the hotel manager but we were being told that he is not available , then we asked for a duty manager , he was not available either . This is not a kind of hospitality we expected in Tunisia, we were under impression that hospitality in this country is very good and ppl are very welcoming . We checking out on 5th Jan and would like to give the opportunity to the hotel management to make it right and turn things around . We normally don’t complain and are here to enjoy our family break . If someone from the management can speak to us and resolve the matter that will be much appreciated.
We went to this hotel for a Christmas break. The hotel was lovely, the service was excellent, very clean, staff excellent. The food was great. But when 300 or more students arrived for a seminar the hotel restaurant turned in a nightmare, all I would say it was like feeding time at the zoo, also other nationals would pile there tables with food and leave so much, can honestly say it was the worst restaurant we have been to in all our travels, also as it was winter only one bar was open but it was constantly gate crashed by children , it would have been better if a small drinking station had been set up at accommodate them.
Worst holiday experience – not even close to a 5-star hotel We stayed at this hotel during the Christmas holidays, and it was the worst holiday experience we have ever had. This hotel does not deserve one star, let alone five. Hygiene: We saw a large cockroach inside a food serving dish. When reported, a staff member calmly crushed it with his fingers. Almost every day we found cockroaches in the bathroom or toilet. We also saw a rat in the corridor on the fourth floor. Food: Food quality was very poor. Leftovers from dinner were reheated and served again for lunch or reused as different dishes (for example, meat stew turned into pasta with minced meat). For a so-called five-star hotel, only oranges (and occasionally mandarins) were served as fruit. Staff: Kitchen staff were unfriendly, though some waiters were polite. One waiter, Ashraf, was very kind, professional, and provided excellent service. Rooms: Our room was not renovated. The carpet was extremely dirty and black, with small insects flying in the room and on the bed sheets. Housekeeping was only done upon request and limited to making the bed and changing towels; bed sheets were not changed daily. Kids Club: Advertised as a kids club, but in reality it was just a small room with music for about one hour per day so children could dance — not a real kids club. Overall, this hotel fails basic hygiene standards and is not suitable for families. I would not recommend it.
Honestly, a top -notch stay. Great atmosphère, warm welcome, and a perfect place to relax and unwind i really like it here
Avoid this hotel like the plague. It is run down, shabby and frankly dirty with no regular vacuuming of the bedrooms. Hotel management are rude, aggressive and confrontational at any suggestion that standards aren't being met. The hotel's own website claims that rooms have " individually controlled air conditioning" which simply isn't true. My room was too hot and stuffy, but only hot air can be obtained through the system, not cold air. When I raised this, the acting manager, Shabwah, was argumentative and unhelpful. No reputable tour agency should be including listings for this venue in its packages. That said, the individual bar staff and waiters were friendly and efficient. Another case of a team being let down by poor senior management and a building that has been neglected over many years.
In a nutshell, the hotel is ok, but falls well short of a 5 star resort. On arrival, no welcome drink or even where to find anything. Refused to give us a 2nd key even though there's two of us. 1.Food/Breakfast /lunch /dinner Small space for so many people! Extremely busy in early December. Anything fresh goes really quick and we have to quee for ages. Same goes for the tea and coffee machines. A waiter told us there were over 400 people at breakfast. There were only 2 hot drink machines our whole stay, and one of those was always broke! My fiance wanted a cup of tea, only to find no tea bags left. When she asked a waiter they just replied saying it's all gone. The food is ok to be honest, but often cold. And once it's gone they're very slow to replace. Hygiene is a real issue here too. It's unfair for me to comment on locals touching bread and pizza and putting it back, but i saw chefs cooking food with substandard hygiene. Needless to say, we both got food poisoning! Lunch was great because it wasnt so busy, and the staff were accommodating because they had the time to do so. Evening meal however was an unpleasenant expericene every night. Again, mainly because of the buss88yness and general lack of food. I'm lactose intolerant and there were no milk alternatives 2.Room The hotel would not give us an extra duvet! Felt like an extra kick in the teeth when we had food poisoning and we're ill for 3 days out of 7. No conditioner or moisturizer in the room for my fiance. Hotel would not provide. Room was large enough and cleaning was OK though. Shower was rubbish. Water slightly dribbled out. Really loud at night too. Loads of noise from outside. We both struggled to sleep. 3 Cleansiness I had an issue with the cleanliness of the chefs cooking the food. Picking up pizza with bare hands. Hotel in general is kept very clean however, especially the lobby. Toilets however were not kept clean. I noticed Water on the floor in the cubicles every time I went to use. The rooms are clean though no problem with this area. Downside was no wifi in room (even though this was advertised). Also no kettle in room and no mini bar. To conclude. This is a good 3 star hotel.... not 5....
Honestly i enjoyed my stay the place is clean calm and very close to the beach the staff were friendly and room comfortable
Honestly, i loved it! Everything was great clean, peacefly, and it's welcoming. The staff were super friendly, and it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy your time. Definitely recommend
Honestly, such a good experience! The place is beautiful th atmosphere is calm, and the staff is really professional. I enjoyed my stay from beginning to end. Definitely a place worth remembering
We booked a 10-day stay at the Mahari Hotel in Tunisia, advertised as a 5-star resort. However, upon arrival, it became immediately apparent that the hotel falls significantly short of that rating. Based on our experience, we would struggle to rate it even as a 2.5-star facility. Here are the issues we encountered: • No tea or coffee making facilities were available in the room, which is a basic expectation for a 5-star hotel. • The telephone in our room did not work, making it impossible to request room service—only to be told later that room service was not available, despite it being listed as a facility on the hotel’s description. • The air conditioning was broken, leaving the room hot and uncomfortable throughout the stay. • A piece of plastic was found in the bed after housekeeping had cleaned the room, raising concerns about the overall cleanliness and hygiene. • A shelf under the television fell off the wall multiple times, posing a safety risk. • We were moved to a different room, but the new room was no better—air conditioning was still not working, the balcony door handle was hanging off, and the same issue with the shelf occurred again. Additionally, my husband has a severe milk allergy, which we made clear. However, the hotel staff offered no support or suitable alternatives, and most of the food was either cooked in butter or contained milk powder, making it impossible for him to eat safely. We also felt very unsafe during our stay in Tunisia, with extremely aggressive sales tactics from vendors both inside and outside the hotel, creating an uncomfortable and intimidating environment. All issues were brought to the attention of the reception staff Due to these issues, we were forced to cut our honeymoon short, checking out after just 5 days and arranging our own flight home through another airline at additional expense. We had no choice but to leave, as the conditions were unacceptable and the staff unhelpful in resolving any of our concerns. This trip was meant to be a celebration of our marriage—an unforgettable and joyful experience. Instead, it has left us both incredibly upset and disheartened. Given the significant difference between what was advertised and the reality of our experience, I am requesting a refund for the 5 unused nights of our stay, and reimbursement for the costs incurred in arranging our early departure. I am still awaiting a reply from love holidays and a reply from Hotel Mehari
Honestly, no complaints at all the stay was excellent from start to finish the place is clean the staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is really relaxing I would definitely come back
Weather excellent. Lots of sun Food was fair, lots of fish and lamb. Staff all very friendly and nice to interact with. It was however the end of season and lots of places were looking very quiet and run down. Ideal for winter sun. Great pool
Wonderful experience! The atmosphere was calm, the service was excellent, and the beach was the highlight of my trip. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy a smooth holiday by the sea
Lovely stay! Everything was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The staff were kind, the beach was beautiful, and the whole place felt perfect for a relaxing getaway
Honestly such a great stay the place is clean calm and really camfortable the staff were kind thé beach was beautiful and the whole atmosphere was perfect for relaxing. I honestly loved it
All in all it’s a very good hotel for what we paid, the staff were very friendly and professional, the food was of decent quality.
I had the best time. Absolutely brilliant. The staff are amazing, I’ve made good friends with Moayed, zied, Isham and the young lad in the restaurant who looked after me every day , the lovely guy in the bar I can’t remember his name; he called me his best friend, every day. every single one of them. You have been absolutely fantastic and I thank you all so much for looking after me for the two weeks and I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with you. Now. The hotel. The hotel is gorgeous, however, it isn’t a 5 star hotel and shouldn’t be advertised as such. It is a very very good 3 star . My stay and experience however was 5 star and I’ve given a 5 star rating. Luckily for me it was perfect and it was a really cheap price for 2 weeks all inclusive. That doesn’t reflect on the staff though who are absolutely outstanding. The food is delicious, I had something nice to eat every single day. The drinks are amazing, freshly made coffee, of which I drink many, made to order at the bar. The room was lovely I had a sea view room, lovely fresh, clean, modern, some parts of the hotel need a scrub up, the pool could do with a good clean, algae on the tiles. Over all I had the most fantastic holiday and I am coming back again next year. I can’t wait. Highly recommended.
Nice friendly environment with lots of entertainment for all ages very good quality food with the beach close by clean rooms with lots of space for many people would 100% come again
First time in Tunisia and we absolutely loved it. The hotel is OK. Agree with other reviews, it's definitely not 5*. It's OK for what we paid though and definitely feel we got our money's worth. Good points: Lovely staff (mostly), especially the entertainment team. Pika, Lawra and Hazem were just so friendly and really gorgeous people. A special mention also to Mohammed, a Waiter in the buffet area. He was always ready to help me learn new Arabic words. The rooms were nice enough, comfy beds, nice bathroom, decent enough patio area with a lovely sea view. Food was pretty decent. So much to choose from, we always found something we enjoyed eating. The Beach is beautiful. You do get hassled quite a bit by guys trying to sell stuff, but just say No and they generally go away. The Spa: we booked the spa and paid £60 each. We had four treatments (3 hours), it was amazing. Well worth the money. We literally came back to our room after and fell asleep for two hours as we were that relaxed. Bad points: NO AIR CONDITIONING! Apparently it was turned off 1/10 for some reason? Temperature ranged from 25-31c during our stay. Because it was so noisy outside, we had to keep the patio door shut, making it very difficult to sleep. Suggest you bring a mini fan. Alcohol is disgusting! Especially the wine, it's definitely all watered down.
Looks good on arrival after a long delayed day, but issues show as week goes on Food- poor, plenty of selection but same every day and like warm Pool area- poorly kept Out in town- terrible for being harassed by medina / shop owners ? lol Told on last day at checking out that a refreshing room was a toilet and shower area at pool , this was atrocious to say the least, too much info to put on here sorry but don’t think we will be back here
Arrived and was greeted at reception around 11:30 pm, we were asked if we wanted to eat, we said yes and went up to the first floor to the dining room before checking in. The dining room had very little to eat unless you wanted to eat flies. I do know that flies is not their problem but they were all over the food. Had a little bit of salad then went to check in. Rooms- room was spacious but did need an upgrade decor wise. Bed was comfy with duvet and extra pillows. We had a sea view and the view was amazing. Down side to our room it was above the disco that was for the locals (we were told) out on the main street that went on till 4am, very noisy and even a fight broke out, with police in attendance. Staff- Staff were amazing, couldn’t fault them, after 2 days they had drinks and a table ready for us. Always very polite and chatty. Food- well what can I say, there was a good selection but every single day was the same, lunch and dinner. 90% of the time food was cold. Pool area- needs a good upgrade around the pool, there were plenty of sun beds and cushion to lay on. The toilets at the pool side were smelly all the time. Check out- we asked if there was anywhere to get freshened up, we’re told at the pool area at the smelly toilets!
We stayed here for 7 nights, visited sidi bou said, Tunis market, Carthage, Sousse, Kairoun, Colosseum etc. People are really nice, polite to tourists at places I have been even shopkeepers (apart restaurants where they expect you to order a meal for each otherwise they get upset). They will invite you to their shops but if you reject they won’t keep asking. Now regarding hotel Mehari - for the starter no AC in any room as they turned them off due to cooler season (according to them) while it was around 28 - 31 degrees. Had to keep windows and patio door open for 24 hours to keep our room cooler which attracted mosquitoes and we weren’t prepared for these unwanted guests otherwise would have taken mosquito repellent to welcome them. No internet in rooms. Only two working lifts serving all guests. One of my big issue was lack of refreshment facilities in the room. They call it 5 star but do not provide any facilities to make tea, coffees in the room. It comes with one small empty fridge with two bottles of water left outside the fridge. This is all you get in your room apart your bed and usual desk and mirror. A small locker without key and if you want to use locker, you have to get keys from reception. Even premier Inn has better facilities than this so called 5 star hotel. On 2nd floor, hallway entrance to the floor is dark and kids are scared to walk alone in the evening. Out of 7 days they only turned them on twice while two big groups checked in as part of tour packages but then switched them off again. Most staffs were nice only exception were the cook at the poor BBQ area who is frequently get annoyed if anyone re-order any food. Being a group of 9, two of us were ordering food for whole group but he gave us a look made us feel so awkward that we never been to BBQ after first day. Bar staffs at the main lobby were really nice, hard working, seen them working everyday quietly and doing what they are supposed to do. Foods are repetitive but this is expected considering hotel’s conditions. Had really bad experience on the first night. We arrived around 10:30 pm and while checking in, reception staff kept our passports to record them and advised us to go on the first floor for meal while he does his admin work. While went to the restaurant, it was already closed and one member of staff opened the door and showed us buffet area where few fruits, salads and pastries were left. We didn’t mind to grab some quick bite but then saw that restaurant staff calling to reception staff angrily and telling them off in their language but few words and his expression were clearly indicated that he is telling them off for sending us to restaurant. Clearly a bad communication between teams and we got embarrassed. Entertainment facilities were average which reflected management’s budget consciousness again. Outdoor pool is small but okay for October, not too busy. Life guards could do better if they are off screen and more active around the pool. Indoor pool is small and jacuzzi wasn’t turn on ever. While asked staff around pool they pointed us towards reception and didn’t bother to ask them as they may come with another excuse. Pool areas are dark and lights are centrally switched off. After shutting the door, it’s pitch black. To summarise - I may comeback to Tunisia but not in Mehari if I be honest.
My reviews are nothing but honest , inside the hotel ie rooms , reception ok but the restaurant is poor from a hygiene perspective around the hot food areas , salads etc fine , very slow at resetting tables and food is repetitive, pool area is awful the trip advisor reviews show well kept lawns around the pool and clean areas it’s basically patchy grassless areas and filthy walk ways , the beach is lovely within Mehari section and the sea is crystal clear and lovely to walk in , To recap the food is edible and the rooms are fine we won’t revisit Tunisia but it’s ticked off
I really enjoyed in my holiday I had a wonderful time with the entertainment team also the hotel have a really good view from the pool and the rooms are always clean and that’s the most things I like in mehari
There were entertainment day and night at the resort. Room size and views were good.”“My room was very large and spotlessly clean. I had requested a sea view, which also had a balcony … The staff were so welcoming and friendly … The restaurant was clean, well-staffed … I had a massage at the Thalasso spa, which was exceptional.”
This hotel is a waste of money and It’s absolutely beyond me how they maintain this “5-star review”. The service here is horrible and so dismissive! I don’t know if it’s because there is some sort of prejudice system but servers here literally told my family we couldn’t sit at certain tables (the nicer tables with a view) with no explanation but when a white family came along? “Go right ahead!” They don’t even clean the rooms nicely, they’ll maybe replace the bins and make the bed poorly but that’s it, they don’t replace the toilet paper or restore shampoo or body wash unless you ask for it and even then you have to ask repeatedly! Bringing me to another point, this hotel is so tight! They don’t turn the lights on in the halls, the AC doesn’t even work and the “fridge” isn’t even a fridge! It’s essentially just another cabinet seeing as it’s not cold at all. You have to ask for the basic things to be turned on and even then they don’t turn it on. The food here is also so terrible. It’s so repetitive and bland, stay here for a week and I wouldn’t even be shocked if you dropped a kg or two. It’s so unsanitary, flies all over the food all day everyday. You have to ask repeatedly just for a glass of water or a drink and servers take so long to clear tables! I may sound entitled but am I not paying for this service? I believe so. Not only is the food unsanitary but there were cockroaches in this hotel! Multiple!! Thank you to the two or three servers here who actually do their job to a decent standard, emphasis on “decent”. Never have i experienced such incompetency in my life, and trust me—I’ve experienced some dark things. Gorgeous hotel but horrible service.
This was my first trip to Tunisia, I travelled with an open mind and the Mehari turned out to the perfect hotel choice for us. Our room - we booked a seaview room and we were very pleased. The room was modern and tiled floors throughout (I was aware of some rooms having carpet, tile is my preference due to allergies). The bed was very comfortable, linen was clean. Plenty of space in the room, good amount of storage, lovely clean modern bathroom. The balcony was a fine size and the view from the second floor was lovely, overlooking the pool and across to the beach. The food - we were very pleasant surprised by the amount of choices at EVERY sitting. We are both happy to try new things, the only thing we don’t eat is fish. Pasta, pizza, grilled meats, Tunisian dishes such as cous cous and meat stews available. Large salad bar, very fresh and with cold cuts of meat and cheese also. Desserts were lovely, lots of cakes to choose from and well presented. Ice cream and some days donuts fried to order. Fruit available too. Breakfast was also good - egg station, continental options such as pastries, cold meats. Yogurts and fruits, cereals, tea and coffee. Various hot dishes also and fresh fruit juices. The STAFF - the staff at this hotel make a stay very special and I hope management reward them well for their hard work. Everywhere in the hotel, from the reception, to the restaurant and the bar downstairs are so friendly, welcoming and hard working. We enjoyed so many chats throughout our stay. The cleaning staff are also very hard working and pleasant and stopped by our room daily to make sure all was in order. The location of the hotel is perfect, right next to the beach and not a long drive from Enfidha airport. The medina is just a few minutes walk away if you leave from the back entrance. The marina is also lovely and a nice walk down the beachfront road. We booked quad biking trip at the desk in the lobby and we had a fantastic time. Well maintained bikes and lovely trip guides who provided great photos and videos for a small xtra fee. We also visited El Jem and Kairouan Mosque with a private driver we booked on Viator and had a great day - quite a bit of driving but a great way to see more of Tunisia and it’s fantastic history. Thank you to all Mehari staff for a wonderful trip. We will definitely be back!
The hotel feels like it’s stuck in the 1980s and definitely doesn’t deserve its 5-star rating. I do not recommend it. We stayed with the All Inclusive option, but access was very limited. The bar offered only five types of drinks, and the beach bar was almost always empty – under the All Inclusive package, only non-alcoholic drinks were available, and everything else was extra paid. As for the food – very poor and repetitive, the same dishes every day. Dinner was supposedly served until 9:30 p.m., but by 9:00 p.m. there was often nothing left to eat. Additionally, the bed linen was changed only once a week, which is unacceptable for a supposedly five-star hotel. Moreover, visiting this hotel off-season in October, there was a shortage of sun loungers and mattresses on the beach, meaning that guests using the hotel’s beach had neither loungers nor mattresses due to limited space. In summary – this hotel does not meet the expected standards, it’s far from a 5-star experience, and I will never come back.
It's good hotel i like it here overall this hotel is a solid choice for anyone looking for a peaceful, beachside getaway with good amenities and friendly service. I would definitely recommend it and would consider returning for another stay.
I came here with my 1 year-old son and we had an amazing time. The location is good for excursions, food and shopping. The entertainment team were really fun and there is lots to engage with in the evenings at the hotel. I loved my first time in Tunisia and would definitely book again!!!
We are travelers from Czech Republic and we really enjoyed our stay in here. The staff was great, particularly animators like Pika, Antonio and Hamza. And the food was really Arabic.
I had a great time at Mehari hotel the staff was great and lovely people, I enjoyed the facilities and the entertainment in the hotel. I would love to visit again one day.
I've had a good experience overall. The only things I would like on my next experience is better WIFI in my room. Breakfast should have Baked Beans, but food was good. Staff are amazing and very friendly. Will definitely come back.
Good hotel all staff friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble ..good food plenty of choice pool clean / entertainment good and varied lovely beach area and pool area rooms clean and tidy also cleaned daily and fresh towels 😊😊😊
Currently staying at this hotel. Rooms are old and dirty with no air con.. No lighting in corridors , no fire alarms in rooms or corridors even though a fully smoking hotel. The food selection is repetitive and limited selections, nothing catered for children at all, my ten year old is living on stale bread and ice cream. Food is cold and covered in flies. Very dated and needs a big refurb, Not a 5 star hotel.. A 2/3 star at a push Majority of the staff are friendly but some are not so friendly particularly the people in the restaurant areas. The Garden Pool is dirty and the water is murky, the bottom cannot be seen. Areas around the pool are dirty and glasses left in the areas. I would imagine this hotel would be amazing in it's day unfortunately needs a big overhaul.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel The hotel is clean, comfortable, and perfectly located near the beach and local attractions. The staff were always friendly and helpful, especially at the bar and spa. The food was tasty with plenty of variety, and the animation team made evenings fun without being intrusive. Great value for a relaxing holiday — I’d definitely come back!
I came here with my family and we love it! Great entertainment, Lovely food, very friendly. The beach is lovely!🩷🩷❤️🤍
Hotel looked very nice. Very disappointed in room we changed 3 times. Poor food and staff not very helpful. Reception.Staff need to be more helpful. In a week’s stay we had no hot water 2 days. Entertainment staff very nice and friendly. We had a mix of singers, musicians.
We had a terrible experience which blighted our holiday. We started off in the Residence (no WiFi in the room, no air conditioning, nothing in the kitchen like pots and cutlery, the hose in the toilet leaked all the time). After 3 days of requests to move and also get things fixed in the room, and reception promising tomorrow repeatedly, we only ended up with a solution with the intervention of a travel rep in the building. We moved to the main hotel, and we had paid for this room, comfortable and clean with no issues. Seems the hotel rooms rather than residence rooms have their own WiFi points, carpets etc but again no air conditioning when heat at start of October is 28 daytime 20 nighttime. Cleaning staff helpful and friendly, as were the bar staff and restaurant waiters. Only gripe with restaurant was the drinks as you can't help yourself, you have to wait for a small glass. Facilities were clean and homely but be aware it is Tunisia so smoking is allowed inside in the bar and reception areas. Beach was adequate (all you need, loungers, parasols etc). It's not badly placed, 10 minutes walk to the local modern Medina next to Carthage Land. Be aware the local ATMs didn't take our cards so we had to go to the marina area where there was an international ATM. Taxis from airport about 120 dinar, but we used same to return and it was only 80 dinars (£20). Watch out for scammers, locals saying I am your chef who walk with you to their friends shop. And watch out for taxi drivers (no seat belts and they undertake etc to get you where you want as fast as possible).
I am currently staying here with my Aunty. We are so happy with all aspects of the hotel. The bar and restaurant staff are sooo nice. Our room is great, really spacious and very clean We always have something to eat. Entertainment staff are amazing so polite and caring.
Very nice time in Tunosia and in hotel Mehari. Proffessional assostance animatorsnin hotel Mehari and good stretching . Comdotable room pool, delishes food and clear beach.
I had an amazing stay at Mehari Hotel Hammamet! From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly and welcoming — you really feel at home. The rooms were spotless, the food was delicious with loads of variety, and the sea view from the balcony was beautiful. The entertainment team were absolutely brilliant — full of energy, fun, and always making sure everyone was having a great time, day and night. You can tell they really love what they do. Overall, Mehari Hammamet is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy yourself. Great service, great people, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back again! ❤️
Really enjoyed our two weeks at this Hotel. The Staff were great from the Animation Team, especially Lawra and Pika, Pool Lifeguard/attendant who always called me "Boss" and would place our Sunbeds wherever we wanted even pointing out from our balcony from room 323! The waiter we had everyday was amazing, knew our favourite table and wine although always ready to dish out a different drink. Food was very good, sometimes we had to wait for the show cooked meat/fish but not a long queue. We had an excellent spacious room. The Hotel is well situated near the beach and close to the shops. We took a few trips Camel rides, private driver for the day to Tunis, Carrhage, and Sidi bou Said, we got the road Train for 20 dinar also the horse and cart around Yasmin 100dinar including tip. These were all booked through the reception area, the private drive was a Bargain, beware you do pay for the drivers lunch and drinks which was fair enough for the price! Only downside was being pestered by the local shop owners, go to the larger Supermarket with fixed prices if you don't want to get ripped off! The private beach and staff were excellent. We had the complementary 5course Dinner at the Baron de Chef which was really nice. So all in all we loved the Hotel, Resort, Staff, and Food. Thanks to all the Staff!
The room was very clean and tidied. Food was very taste and delicious. The staff very helpful and nice. The animation team was so friendly, we enjoyed every night in our stay, simply brilliant. Thank you. We will come back again x
Lovely hotel, lovely food.friendly staff Animation staff very friendly... had a great week with my friends, the cocktails were not my cup of tea ( no pina colada) pool area could be tidier, WiFi not the best...would return though x
Had a great time the staff were friendly and welcoming making me feel comfortable right away the food was delicious fresh
Really good holiday. Fab hotel. Enthusiastic animation team who were great fun - Lawra, Pika & Antonio, thank you for making us feel welcome!! X
Lawra, hazem and antonio from the animation team were amazing. food was unreal but not for fussy people. pool and beach very clean and enjoyable. no atm in hotel. we were here for 2 weeks highly recommend.
Mehari Hammamet 🇹🇳 Review: Single standard room Room: 6/10 Cleanliness 7/10 When I came in the toilet seats was dirty Room view 6/10 Outside the pool is very beautiful and can see the beautiful beach from the hotel restaurant. 10/10. Staff 9/10 despite the rooms and small things to improve, I would say the staff are friendly and very funny , Tunisian people are warm hearted people. They made me feel welcome 🤗 Bed 7/10 Bathroom 6/10 Bath towels 6/10 not clean Faulty shower head Shower curtain rail broken Hotel entrance 10/10 Area quiet / beach is nearby Certain corridors was very dark couldn’t see much WiFi 5/10 Breakfast: very average 5/10. Lunch: it was actually better than dinner and breakfast , it had more option. One of the staff kindly showed me what food is Tunisian dish. I would rate lunch 8/10 Dinner : was little bit better than breakfast, had more options however most of the food tasted flavourless 6/10 So far wouldn’t call it 5 stars Maybe 3.9/ 4 star Air con very weak had to tell them to fix it Tourist tax fee for hotel is £25 but I don’t think it was worth it , when the WiFi is being weak and rooms are awful. However I found nice food outside the hotel and it’s so much better. I wish I done half board or breakfast only for this hotel. Would I recommend this hotel. only if you want beach close by you and it’s quiet area it’s not bad. But I think they need to improve the rooms bit more, maybe breakfast aswell. Also be aware they are not showing on the pictures what single standard room looks like. They have another section attached to the hotel called beach residence. Those rooms in that section are not great. Don’t select single standard room, get the little upgraded ones.
Nice hotel, friendly staff and great atmosphere. The hotel rooms are a bit old, some refurbishment is needed în order to be qualified 5 star hotel but overall is a nice hotel. Food and location are good, close by shops and entertainment. I would say overall I am happy with my stay but also there is space for improvment.
I am so delighted to take holiday on the Méhari hotel. It has a delicious food and the service also fantastic. The music entertainment excellent. I will recommend to my friends I hope will see you then next my holiday. Thank you.
Need to improve food especially evening meals. Need tea & coffee facilities in room. Certain Staff need to be helpful without having to tip every day. Ladies toilet locks don’t work. Air conditioning doesn’t work (I believe turned off at source to save money. Most drinking glasses are chipped or cracked. I wouldn’t return here not 5*
Very nice hotel, friendly staff and entertainment. Would highly recommend to families. Entertainment is outstanding and very enjoyable
Brilliant time, Brilliant people, friendly hotel the food plan of choice and the entertainment fantastic we will come back a lot of people have been coming back to the same hotel year in year out
Wonderful experience Fantastic staff especially animation team Great time Would recommend Great view ,food ,staff so friendly 👌
Very good hotel the weather is always nice warm and all the staff are friendly also have a good view and good service spacious rooms and clean
Great stay only because animation time they take great care of us . The food in the hotel is good only problem we have with air conditioning and WiFi make me think would I like to be back but if animation time will be here I will be back :)
Kind and hard working staff in an impressive building near the sea. Beach is beautiful. Room cleanliness was an issue on arrival but was fixed within an hour. In that context I felt management could have employed more housekeeping staff. That team seems small compared to the number of guests. Having signs on the door that you don't need your room cleaned each day might be an alternative if staff levels can't be increased. Or introduce a policy that sheets are changed every third day unless requested in advance. Also please ban indoor smoking in the lobby bar serving area . That's unfair to staff and to guests with asthma. Overall it seems a good option if you are looking for a big hotel near a beach that offers all inclusive packages
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Stay at Mehari Hotel We had a fantastic experience at Mehari Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing seaside escape. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming—special thanks to Isham from restaurant team and Hisham from welcoming team (apologies if I’ve misspelled your names!) for going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, we cannot thank You enough. The rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided every day, which made a big difference. Spacious and well-kept, our room offered a stunning sea view that truly elevated the whole experience. The food selection was impressive, with a wide variety of dishes to suit every taste. The location is unbeatable—just a few steps from the beach, which was spotless and beautifully maintained. Whether you’re here to unwind or explore, Mehari Hotel offers the perfect balance of comfort, hospitality, and scenery. The only downside is that there is no WiFi internet connection in the rooms, therefore, local sim is a must! Can’t wait to return!
It was amazing and there is lots to do such as camel riding and driving quads a zoo nearby and lots more for families. I do recommend.
It’s amazing everyone should try coming to Tunisia the people are amazing and the view is really good is well. Thanks to Antonio and Diego they are great and the city is beautiful is well
We had a great time, all of the entertainers were amazing, I would definitely recommend Tunisia. Antonio thank you mate.
Antonio is fantastic, what an incredible ambassador of this hotel, such a fantastic rep, made us felt so welcome and had fantastic energy. Made our nights (plural)
Beautiful, relaxing experience. Attentive staff. Small issue with our room was quickly corrected and without fuss. Shared transfer from Enfida airport took around 45minutes and we were efficiently welcomed into the hotel and given our wristband to start enjoying the facilities straight away. Main pool area overlooks the private beach across the road. Second pool at the back/front of the property is of approximately equal size and has activities and entertainment each day. We found the place clean and staff hardworking. Pool towels are free to use and operate on a token system from reception- return your towel for your token and your token to reception to avoid being charged. Room safe again free to use with key from reception but pay 70TND for a non returned/lost key. Lunch and dinner buffet times still have the traditional white tablecloths on each table which have been cut out of most UK venues (I expect to save laundering costs etc) and they immediately elevated the experience. We noticed that rooms overlooking the neighbouring hotel could suffer the noise of their lateish loud music but it didn’t impinge on our sleep. We didn’t suffer huge queues or lack of sun beds or anything. Meal buffets had plenty of variety and we loved the amount of different fresh grilled/stewed vegetables, seeds at breakfast, fresh omelettes and grilled fish/meat stations. Don’t expect your traditional English foods though there were fries available. On arrival at the pool area a helpful gentleman brought sun beds and mattresses to place where we chose. A few folks have commented on a smell of sewage - we did notice this in the resort on occasion but it isn’t specific to the hotel and was transient. The hotel was easy enough to navigate and though much bigger than I was expecting, it did not feel too vast or lonely when moving around in the evenings. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. Considering suggested improvements: The gym is an abandoned looking room up an unlit staircase with worn equipment and a small panel hanging off the wall that looks like it may once have been air conditioning. Also, depending what time you go, you may ‘run the gauntlet’ of the thalasso team downstairs. The staircase wrapped around the main lift is quite dimly lit and the edges of the stairs can be difficult to depict as they are all of a similar beige marble finish. Those with food allergies may find mealtimes more tricky - for instance a sign saying ‘stuffed peppers’ gave no more information as to what it was stuffed with. There were basic foodstuffs available too though.
I like the food in this hotel was so brilliant the drink also and the all the staff and animation team was so friendly we come back again
I have just finished 8 days in the Mehari hotel I wouldn’t say this was a 5* hotel Food is the same at lunch and at dinner with no variety what so ever. No labels / dietary labels on anything. Food is cooked in a lot of oil that looks like it hasn’t been changed. Coffee machine is not good quality with no milk options then the standard milk. Hotel room is spacious with limited plug sockets. The towels are poor quality ! But rooms are cleared everyday, to a basic standard. Limited entertainment in the evening with no entertainment in the day time! Snack bar ! Is not a snack bar not food between lunch and dinner ! Beach is opposite hotel and is kept clean. Soft drinks served. Overall this hotel is not a 5* and wouldn’t waste money coming back to it.
Restaurant food bas been excellent and staff has been super friendly. Early breakfast at 6am provided in restaurant before opening was a nice touch before an early trip. Bedding, towel and room is clean. Cleaners are very helpful Improvement: * More signage on facilities in the hotel * A hotel map at reception * Swimming pool swallow side that is sloping down on entry is slippery for many people especially for elderly. I have seen a few incidents which should be avoided.
El buffet variado y todo de muy buena calidad. Personal muy amable. Escasez de oferta de excursiones lo que menos nos gustó.
Great weather, lovely hotel, sandy beach, tasty food with great animation team! Keep it up well worth the trip!! 🇹🇳❤️
Absolutely fantastic would definitely recommend first time in Tunisia and would definitely be coming bk 😀🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Having been to Tunisia 4 times this year, we find this hotel of a very poor standard. This is definitely NOT 5*. The food is very limited and definitely not what we would expect for the hotel rating. Internet is poor and certainly not accessible in your room, even though we have a booster outside our door. The indoor pool is closed in the summer, so if you want to have a break from the sun but still swim, you can't. Animation is VERY poor. They can't even stay in sync for a basic dance. The fire show, I could have trained a 10yr old to do. A La Carte has only 3 choices of meal and every one includes seafood. Be very careful if you are allergic to seafood, because they are using the same utensils for meat and fish. We have been to other 5* hotels and this definitely isn't up to standard. We absolutely love Tunisia, but would not return to this hotel because there is better.
The hotel has been a good experience the staff are friendly and the entertainment has been fantastic. It’s a great location if you like the beach
Food very nice and delicious and restaurant staff very friendly and polite and they always extra mile to deliver good service! 🤗
The hotel is very clean comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful the location is excellent the atmosphere is relaxing i really enjoyed my stay here and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others
Great hotel, excellent service very friendly people and brilliant evening entertainment. Fantastic food, with an extensive variety.
Food was good although sometimes repetitive. Entertainment was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean and generally tidy but could do with updating in places.
Very nice hotel, room very clean, the staff very nice and friendly, food very good ,very nice atmosphere So I recommend this hotel, for sure I will be back
Everything is excellent, staff very friendly/ room very clean / food very fresh , I love it , well done guys
Fantastic location, extremely friendly staff, couldn’t do enough for you. Food… different to what I am used to but sampled plenty of dishes which are very healthy & always fresh. The animation team are such good fun & involve all ages, only thing I would say for hotel is artificial grass for pool side to avoid politics g lovely pools. In general, just lovely. Especially pika & iman 🥰 thanks guys for taking care of us ❤️ xxx
The hotel is 5-star. The rooms are excellent, and the location is close to the center of Hammamet. The beach is, of course, very nice, but there's no all-inclusive beach service (only soft drinks, no food, beer, or other alcoholic beverages for a fee). Everything around the pool looks neglected. The entertainment stage is located at the back of the hotel, with access next to the staff entrance, and there's trash, etc. The entertainment is very average, not the animators' fault, but the hotel's facilities are poor. There's no proper stage, and there's no space for an audience. The food is tasty, but there are no snacks during the day, and alcohol is not allowed to be brought from the hotel to the beach. You can have a great time, but please don't expect too much.
Great hotel, great staff, food great. Very clean rooms. Animation team great. Would definitely go back. The only downside was the WiFi.
Animation team were great fun and extremely friendly. Rooms were clean. Waiters round the pool and restaurant were also very friendl, helpful and attentive
Great hotel, good food and drink and comfy beds. Animation team full of fun and all staff very attentive. Would visit again.
