You could walk from the accommodation which was great.

Amazing location in town, lovely place to stay with all the amenities you need. Comfy bed, the lower windmill room was excellent with a decent sized shower. Would certainly stay again.

The shower pressure could be a little low.

We stayed in one of the cottages , the grounds of the is so pretty, especially on an evening when all the outside lights were on. Very comfortable and clean.

There was nothing to dislike The only issue we had which wasn’t a big issue as we were out doors for most of our stay was the picture of the Tv in the lounge area kept jumping.

The place was fine and very close to all amenitys

On the 3rd day of the stay i was sent a text from the manager saying we had some how offended a staff member and they would not be servicing the room for the rest of the week.we had no knowledge of any such incident and she would not say what the accusation was and would only engauge by text and not speak direct by phone.this put a damper on the rest of the week that would otherwise have been an almost ideal stay.We will not be recomending this place or returning consequently

Clean, comfortable, great location and with a rarity for Scarborough - off street parking available. Plenty of places in the vicinity to go for a meal or a drink. A couple of convenience stores also within a few minutes walk. We’ll definitely stay here again when planning a short break in Scarborough.

The Windmill is a beautiful place to stay, it's got everything you need & more. Nicola, the owner, is so accommodating, I would recommend the place to anyone.

Beautiful place to stay with the Family. Everything you need is there even a dishwasher, washing up liquid, tea towels ,shower gel, DVDs, books you name it it's there. Beds are very comfortable too.

The whole experience of staying in the Windmill was brilliant. It had everything needed for a comfortable home‑from‑home stay, and the host’s local knowledge made exploring even better. A heavy rainstorm rolled in during our visit, but honestly, it only added to the atmosphere. A perfect couple of days all round.

The cottage we stayed in was like a home from home, very comfortable with everything needed for a self catering holiday and a well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable and we slept well especially as the location is quiet. Nicola the host was very friendly and helpful during the stay and checking in was straight forward with all details given in advance. Nicola kindly agreed to allow us to check in early as the accommodation was ready and to leave bags at check out so we could make best use of our time. The location is central and an easy walk to the South Bay. We would love to have stayed longer and would not hesitate to recommend the Windmill and hope we can return one day to stay inside the mill itself This is a great place for a family friendly holiday and perfect for our needs.

Size of the room

Worry over parking (limited spaces/first come first served basis - small spaces and big cars). They did their best to manage it but if you have anxiety about parking in busy towns (as I do) it can be a factor to consider.

Convenient, quaint, free parking, friendly staff, gated community so safe for kids, short 10 minute walk to town and the sea front. Home from home. Recommended.

Excellent stay everything you need in your room and very good location

The rooms were of a good size, lovely large bed and good sized towels. We did not stay in the windmill itself but in a room attached to the windmill up a flight of stairs outside. Although we did not see the owner all instructions were available and easily explained and the owner was contactable by phone. One slight niggle, I would have liked a proper ironing board. All in all an excellent stay.

The location is close to the train station, but, in a quiet area. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was spacious. The shower was easy to use. Nicola was very friendly and let us leave our luggage while we did some sightseeing. Thank you so much!

What a beautiful place to stay! Set at the top of a quiet cul de sac with own private courtyard. Check in was easy to find key to our apartment. We had thr lower level of the windmill. We loved the layout and quirky features.

The windmill, courtyard and positive messages were lovely. The host was nice. The towels were nice and fluffy.

A parking space right outside the accommodation was not ideal. The lroprty is not particularly well equipped - such as limited knives, no frying pan, no sponge to wash up. There was no salt or pepper, which I usually come to expect when booking self catering accommodation.The TVs are not smart tvs and did not have great signal, so was not watchable. The bathrooms smelt slightly mouldy too.

The whole place was amazing. I was really looking forward to staying in a windmill! Although not actually in the windmill, we were in one of the rooms overlooking the windmill which were really lovely. Nicely presented. Clean and tidy. Onsite car park is small but parking permit and discs available if no parking space available. Easy check in process. Good communication with owner via message. 15minute walk to town centre. Would love to stay again. Thank you.

No breakfast facilities, but you just have to walk into town centre if you need anything like that. Didn’t get to meet the owner or anyone onsite but did have communication via message and instructions for access which were clear and much appreciated.

Bed in room 5 was very wobbly, 4 poster needs tightening, my son was scared it would collapse 🤦‍♀️

We liked everything, I highly recommend though fix the leak, to restore the two other levels, expand to the whole building.

Blown away by the space, fantastic living area and bedrooms. Immaculately clean, fresh linens, choice of glasses and crockery and all cleaning products .

Water pressure in the showers wasn't great. Was a bit tricky to find down an easily missable road full of rubbish and parked cars. Glad the gates were shut at night!

We liked the uniqueness of the windmill setting and the old brick courtyard, it had a historical feel about it. An ideal location also close to station and public transport links, which really suited us. The room was large, comfortable and tastefully furnished and exceeded our expectations even. We would recommend this accomodation and will be returning.

Location and size of apartment.

Radiator in on-suite needs cleaning replacing or painting. Foisty smell when first entering apartment. This is due to a small leak from radiator next to kitchenette. Leak in kitchen tap when turned full on.

3 bedroom cottage which was lovely. Everything you need was thought about and available. The size of the cottage was great. The facilities are exceptional and the site is in a great location. The cottage has its own heating and hot water which was great when it was a little cold when we stayed. Nicola was very helpful even when she was away from site. Thank you for a great stay!

Just a couple of tiny things. There was no plug socket available to charge my phone next to the bed in the twin room. I had to pull the bed out, unplug the lamp and this is where I found a bit of rubbish that had been missed. Nothing major!

Felt very cosy and was lovely for a couple of nights. The rooms were very clean and nice. With four of us, once we had extended the kitchen table to eat at, there wasn't much room to get across the kitchen easily because of the coffee table and sofa also, but it wasn't a big issue it is just something to be aware of as I had a bad back at the time and it was a bit awkward pushing furniture to the side to get across the room. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The location was ideal. The facilities were lovely. A hidden gem of a place for sure.

Cool place

It had been on my bucket list to stay in a windmill so I carefully chose the right one very carefully. The main things I wanted were to stay in the actual mindmill (not in a cottage on the grounds) and I wanted to stay in a windmill with sails. I thought the staff were very nice and very accommodating when I needed to change dates. The room was nice and it was located in the main mill building so that ticked that box for me.

The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that it didn't have sails anymore (unlike the picture on the booking.com website). I understand why the owners had to take them down but I did choose this particular windmill (even though it was a 5 hour drive from our home) because it looked on the picture as though it had sails. In fact when I googled booking.com today the picture still has sails so I think that element is misleading.

Ideal location, quirky, lovely views, had everything we needed for our 2 night break.

Very impersonal. No face to face contact with the host, reception closed, no reply from the mobile number when i called asking for information regarding opening the gates..

The location was superb, a beautiful place to stay, we have 2 rooms, my daughter lucked out with the windmill.

Great location, lovely property and Nicola was brilliant. Nicola met us upon arrival and showed us to our cottage. Great stay.

The windmill was fantastic. It had everything we needed and was very clean and well decorated. Just a shame we stayed during a storm and due to it being in a windmill the wind sounded so loud! Would go again but not in January!
