A very good location and very handy for the ferry, a good central location in Stornoway.
The room we had backed onto the lift and was quite noisy
Nothing
I booked because of a flight cancellation. 1 hour later I needed to cancel as flight cancellation was a mistake. Caladh would not refund me £180 I paid. This spoilt the rest of my holiday. I will probably not use Booking. Com again.
Location, old pub feeling, good food, relaxed feel, short work to the beach restaurant and bar, close to the lighthouse
The bar closed at 10:30pm
Welcoming
Very noisy room. Had to move
Good buffet breakfast although fairly pricey Close to ferry for the late arrival and parking was no problem
Very confusing corridor with poor signage for rooms and exit Breakfast although good was expensive Room size nit great but ok for single person in the double room and bathroom small Absolutely no view from window was looking at other side of hotel
Superlative friendly helpful welcome by reception. Room were big bathroomas large and very clean. Pleasently surprise as I expected a truckers stop from building spearence.. Outwards buildings 60's diwdy appearence is deceiving. Indide it us a bit tired are. Allthings considered when I am in Lewis next its my accomodation of choice. Great VFM
Tired decore and a bit care worn. Building us horrible but mist are in that part of town.
I would highly recommend the Caladh hotel in Stornoway. I have now stayed here 4 times over the last 12 months on business trips. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the rooms are comfortable and the food is delicious.
Location, spacious rooms, friendly helpful staff
Big rooms 89’s style and service
Great location.

The staff were friendly and efficient and the room was clean. The restaurant menu had plenty of choices and the food was good.
The mattress was rather soft but the bed was comfortable nevertheless.
I didn’t get breakfast would have liked it at the price I paid
Above
Good location near town centre and ferry terminal. Very nice coffee shop 50 yds away. Parking onsite.
Uncomfortable old bed/mattress clearly seen better days. Single room overpriced for what it was - tiny and stuffy. Room rate slashed by over 50% once booked and paid on non-refundable offer.
Staff were terrific, helpful and friendly
The room was dated and whilst everything worked it was very tired. Flat pillows which were very old. Cheap bedding and soft mattress. We got the early ferry which meant we could only get a few uncooked things for breakfast Price was very high for what we expected
Clean & nice- what you expect
Lovely and clean, breakfast was beautiful . Very central for shopping and swimming pool.
A bit pricey
Friendly receptionist & night staff. Great parking & location. Hotel is close to town, Tesco’s and ferry terminal. Cosy & comfortable room & I slept well.
Handy location for the town centre, plenty of parking. Attentive receptionist.
The room was really warm, and when we opened the windows, there were large fans right below our window, which were quite loud! There was a wedding anniversary on, in the hotel and although we couldn't hear the party, there were loud drunk voices during the night, slamming doors. (I didn't reduce my score for this, as it wasnt the hotels fault, just more disturbed sleep).
The hotel is in the centre of Stornoway so handy for all the amenities. The staff are very helpful and friendly. My room was clean and comfortable and the food was good.
The receptionist was faultless. While on holiday and quite late at night I had to find a night's stay after my husband was admitted to A&E. She was so understanding and sensitive both that night and next morning that I felt well taken care of.
We had a mixed experience at Caladh Inn. On the positive side, the staff were wonderfully welcoming and helpful, the hotel is dog-friendly, and the prices for breakfast and dinner were very reasonable. However, the room rate for a single night (£342) was completely astronomical—it felt like paying for a luxury 5-star hotel in Manhattan! While the service and food were great, the cost of the accommodation itself is drastically overpriced and really needs a reality check.
Excellent in every way. Great dinner buffet too.
The staff were very friendly, we didn’t not get the name of the lady who checked us in but she was amazing. She went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable. Also the breakfast was lovely and a very good variety available. So thank you so much!!
Nothing!
Central in town with good parking. Great sized room with great shower and bath. Friendly welcoming and accommodating staff. Great job to all staff.
Our room was internal and only had a sky light which we couldn’t open, room was a little to hot for me and my partner, radiator was turned down but couldn’t switch off, and no window to vent that heat out, it was pretty stuffy.
We stayed there for three nights during the very unseasonably hot weather. It was very hot at night due to the kitchen ventilation duct being outside the window. The staff tried very hard to help with a fan which helped a bit. On the last night the manager was able to open the window fully and had the kitchen ventilation stopped as early as possible. This made a big difference. The room itself was comfortable although the furnishings were a little tired. The bed was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The outstanding part of the stay was the staff who could not have been more friendly and helpful.
Location is perfect, short walk into town, great atmosphere in the place, rooms are immaculate and comfortable , tea & coffee, it’s a well maintained hotel, quiet area especially for the rooms to the back. Restaurant is buffet, you won’t get better food anywhere. Plenty free parking around the hotel. Receptionist was very welcoming on arrival, as was all the staff we came across. It’s not our first time in this hotel, we will be back.
We booked a 2 course buffet dinner for 40 people and I cannot speak highly enough of the team that evening. Nothing was a problem and the service was excellent. Big shout out to Kevin and Amy
Convenient location for the ferry.
Windowless room, unattractive cafeteria
The staff were very helpful. The manager put my motorcycle inside to keep it safe. All the amenities were excellent including the power shower. Bed was so comfortable and all bedding was perfect.
Nothing. Can't fault this accommodation. Really close to the ferry terminal.
Reception staff really nice
Bedding and sheets felt cheap
The Staff here made the whole experience truly wonderful. Ros, Shannon, Katy, Abigail and Leanne all proved exemplary in their hosting and Customer Service skills, listening carefully and making adaptations as needed. The food served for breakfast and evening meal was absolutely delicious, hats off to the chefs and kitchen staff too!

We would like to say a big thanks to all at Caladh Inn for making us so welcome and settled . Across for a short stay to visit family , they kindly accommodated us and our little dog in a wonderfully spacious great value twin room. All amenities that were needed and lovely Harris Tweed decor, our room for July was so warm and cosy ,the day temps were very nice for Lewis , windows were wide open but a great sleep was had. Weirdly Lewis has less seagulls than where we are , so so no noise from them , it was very peaceful even for been close to the town centre. Just round the corner from the ferry terminal , it is a great location to quickly arrive at and settle in with great parking provided. The restaurant and bar / breakfast room are very well provisioned with really ,really great food (the fresh Lewis air will boost that appetite) and all staff attend to your needs very efficiently and politely that makes it a pleasant atmosphere to be in , a really great group that makes you feel part of their family. And your dog is welcome to join you everywhere, just remember to tidy up after them, there is a grass zone in the parking bay , but be responsible if you do take a dog not to ruin it for others, by being ignorant to the generosity of the hosts at the Caladh Inn , allowing you to take you furry friend on trips with you. Don't abuse it and then lose it. There are appropriate bins across from the carpark to dispose of such things. To all at the Caladh Inn Ceud mile taing.
Staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant was fairly good for dinner and buffet breakfast.
TINY room, with only a few small drawers for storage, NO hanging space whatsoever, not even a hook to hang a jacket, and no floor space for luggage either. How anyone could cope in this room for more than one night, and with anything more than a very small bag, I have no idea. Why would anyone design a newish hotel with rooms this small? The architect should be made to spend a week in the room. One tiny window with a view of some kind of duct ...and this room was not cheap. And the pillows were cheap and hard...

The breakfast was good
Aardig personeel, moesten 4.30 uur vertrekken ivm ferriet.
Ligging
Geen gezellige bar
The rooms were clean and well prepared. Comfortable beds. Dinner was up to the usual Caladh standards; great choices and delicious. Breakfast was excellent. All the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.
Nothing I could see.
I repeatedly book this hotel when business and family require my presence on Lewis. I enjoy the informality of this hotel yet, blessed with high quality service and comfort The staff (even the youngsters) have manners and a friendly disposition. This is a rare commodity these days, so I presume it must be down to excellent management. From choosing the right staff in the first place, and expert training. I even saw, now and again, senior management partaking in everyday tasks, ps Even the bedroom TV channels and remote WORK ! !
Went with coach tour. Room basic, staff friendly. Great location. Dining very disappointing for vegan diet despite request on booking. Terrible lack of labelling, soup looked ‘cream of’, most of the veg covered in cheese sauce, leaving the same two orange vegetables all four nights. Couldn’t find vegan main without ‘cream’ sauce, last two nights had only pasta with veg. No dessert. Very poor. No vegan milk or spreads.
Nice room with everything we needed but no window- just a skylight which we couldn’t open and it was very hot. However, the receptionist was VERY helpful and the food in the restaurant was very good.
Location was perfect for what I needed, close to the town centre, my room view was an internal wall, which was a bit strange however I’m not complaining, it’s somewhere to sleep, bed was comfortable and the room was clean as was the bathroom, it was a bit pricy if you compare it to “chain” hotels which are more modern at a cheaper price. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
Great location, large clean room, no problem with noise. Near ferry for onward trip.
Zentrale Lage
Zimmer ohne Fenster, d.h. mit Oberlicht
Middle of Stornaway so could walk into town for dinner. Staff were friendly.
Room had no windows only a skylight, this was not clear on booking and the room was quite claustrophobic. Restaurant was a bit like a school dining room but the food was very good so it was just lacking ambiance.
Well...in truth I should not have expected much more for my money. The Highlands and Islands have become very very expensive...why? The initial single room for £136 had no window...after remonstrating that I had no window, (it had a wee skylight - felt like a cell). The receptionists sorted it with little objection, I say little. Got a room with a window looking on to someone elses window, hey ho :) Not inspiring. IT WAS ECONOMY....I was told. My biggest gripe was when arriving in Stornaway for my first touch down on the Outer Hebrides, looking for the singing ringing voices of the locals of the highlands and islands, I was presented with, at reception, london accents, not the locals I had been expecting. I would rather have been greeted by the beautiful accents of the isles. Me, a sasanach of Glasgow and then Ayrshire, and a family of the highlands. Love my Scotland, don't like what I'm now experiencing up there.
Property comfortable and clean. Bedroom and shower good. Reception staff helpful.
Quiet, central location. Smart, clean hallways and room on 1st floor (upgraded from a single to a double). No view from the room but Idid not need one on this visit. Best value in Stornoway - I checked. Excellent service.
Close to port
To turn the shower on was very hard to turn.
Good choice at breakfast. Friendly staff.
The room (15) had plenty of drawers to put clothes in but NO hanging place, not even a coat hook. As everyone coming to Lewis is almost certain to bring a jacket, that seems perverse. There was plenty of space for a hook and a couple of hangars.
Welcoming reception but initially given room 12 - absolutely unacceptable, shouldn’t be given to a dog. Tiny, dark, hardly any natural light, noisy air con right outside the window, view of wall 10ft away, ironing board propped against wall in the corner. Should not be offered as a guest room at any price. Fortunately helpful receptionist was able to change our room to much more acceptable room 5. Clean comfortable and light, Food in Eleven restaurant was very good standard, fish skewer particularly good. Staff helpful and friendly.
The receptionist was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable, but the mattress on the bed was rather soft.
Excellent location with externally friendly and helpful staff
A very nice hotel with friendly staff, centrally located and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The hotel has a restaurant but we did not eat there. The staff were exceptionally friendly and gave us several restaurant recommendations. They also have an elevator, which is a bonus one doesn’t take for granted when traveling in the UK. I would recommend it for the location, cleanliness, and friendliness of the staff.
Reception staff pleasant. Location good - near ferry terminal.
Very overpriced. Our room looked out onto a block wall. Windows didn't open far enough to cool the room down. The restaurant was like a works canteen. Our meal - a jambalaya- was mediocre at best
Schönes Hotel, liebevoll eingerichtet mit Harris Tweed. Möglichkeiten für Frühstück und Abendessen vorhanden. Zentrale Lage, nahe dem Hafen. Städtchen gut zu Fuß zu erobern.
Most s taff were friendly and welcoming
I was offered a windowless room. Another guest was kind enough to change with me. The young girl on the desk and the manager weren't helpful. I've stayed there 6 times over the last 8 years for work. Niver been given a, windowless room before.
Very convenient quiet and comfortable. Staff very friendly.
Breakfast was ok but could have been a bit better stocked with bread and pastries.
Room is small and pretty expensive for what you get. It was a work trip so not too bad but I'd be disappointed if I was paying as a holiday maker
Small room
Had to slum it in here as my usual 5* fare was fully booked out for the season, blooming tourists! The rooms are fairly basic and rather small, especially for a gent of my measure. However, it would be ungentlemanly of me not to mention that the staff were very friendly and accomodating, and the large lad breakfast buffet had me singing hallelujah!
Central location to the town, friendly and helpful staff food was good bedroom was cosy and clean would return again when next in the area
Posizione pulizia
Staff and food was excellent and the room and restaurant were clean
The residents lounge was unfriendly and seemed forgotten plus the noise from the kitchen extractor was at times unbearable making it unpleasant, there was another lounge with a bar but not in use resulting in retiring to the bedroom
We’ve stayed many times and it’s perfect. Lovely Hebridean welcome at reception, we travelled with our pet dog and the room was ideal, clean and roomy with well appointed welcome tea tray. Great location from the ferry and easy access to the town centre, faultless as always, look forward to visiting the Caladh again!
Lovely stay
Nothing
Great location with parking. Fantastic staff. It felt like home.
The hotel was very clean and staff very good. I felt it was drab - dining room and bar a bit like a canteen and dull bedrooms. Food was fine.
Excellent location for ferries, town and castle walks. Food in restaurant was good with a carvery as an option.
Room location was in the middle of the building with our room looking directly into another. Bathroom was clean apart from the shower curtain that smelt very foisty and made the whole room smell. Very disappointed about standard double room price we paid on advance booking for our tour of the islands. Checked availability and prices on the day and £100 cheaper !!
Staff were lovely both at hotel a d at number 9 food was lovely would certainly stay here again
Clean.
Poor coffee/tea choice in room.
Clean & comfortable, nice touch with the Harris Tweed, good location, staff friendly & helpful. Great breakfast.
Great hotel, very convenient to the ferry terminal. Staff were all very friendly and the room was very comfortable.
Friendly and helpful staff
An appallingly run down and hygienically abysmal hotel. The rate was farcically high (£189 per night) for what we were provided with. Urine stained sheets and toppers, rusty and dangerous corrosion in the bathrooms and an indifferent and unenthusiastic staff. This hotel survives solely on the lack of alternative choices for people in stornoway. Thank goodness for air bnb
Clean and close to the harbour
The revolving doors are hard to get through with a big case
Great location, handy for ferry terminal. Very comfy single beds in a large twin room. It was disability friendly and brilliant shower. Decor a bit dated but that’s Stornoway for you.
I've just had a 4 night stay at this friendly hotel. Very clean, brilliant location in Stornoway. Warm with great amenities. Special mentions: food well above 3 star hotel quality. Buffet & carvery provided and prepared by professional chefs. Staff all cheery, special mentions for Abigail who was very helpful. Stuart, Livia for their enthusiasm, and like a conductor, manager Kevin, who led by example helping his young staff. Best hotel in Stornoway.
Excellent hotel and staff. Kevin is like a conductor of a large orchestra advising his staff, showing by example how it's done . Special shout out to Abigail, Stuart and Livia for making our stay fantastic. Food was outstanding every night thanks to the chef's attention to detail. This hotel is worthy of more than 3 stars
Location to port
Price Staff unfriendly. Tried checking in at 1.30. Got told no come back 2.30 no offer to store bags or anything and raining. Came back 2.40 told room still not ready to come back .... We said no and then given another room. Then at 10am housekeeping knocking door to clean etc and we said no check out is 11am and that is when we left
Perfect location when straight off the Ferry
