Legacy Preston International Hotel

Great location for visiting the university. Very good to see such laid-back friendly long-term loyal staff. Very comfortable beds and spacious rooms. The small “city-viewing” lounges on upper floors are an attractive feature. Useful free safe parking area (though I didn’t use it on this visit). Bathrooms include bathtubs.

Breakfast in the windowless basement is very ordinary, nothing special. Very limited evening menu &timings and bar selections. Piped music/tv in common areas very disappointing sound quality; though there were good tvs in bedrooms.

Uncomfortable mattress, coffee not available at breakfast as they’d run out of coffee beans and didn’t grab anymore. Shower was stuck on scolding hot and wouldn’t turn down so had to run a bath instead

Dodgy lift, no housekeeping

Great sized room with a perfectly fine bathroom. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was more than reasonable for the price of the stay. Staff were always friendly. Happy to stay again if needed.

No air conditioning, or even adequate air circulation - forced to open the window (the small amount it did open) but there is a noisy road and nearby trainline so the noise is close to excessive. Also, a real lack of power sockets in the room (only ones were over the desk) - absolutely none near the beds for phones or most importantly my husband's CPAP machine, which thankfully has a reasonable length power cable, but it had to stretch across the room to reach his bed and which then created a trip hazard.

Poor breakfast and although it was ‘ free’ it was in my opinion o included in the fairly high priced booking.The distance from the station was uphill and only just possible for an elderly weary traveler-not as close to station as expected.

Great for an one night stay. Price included a great selection breakfast as well. The room had a fan which was amazing as it was a very hot day. Highly recommend it if you need a short stay in Preston.

Trying to find the hotel Fooled by it showing the International sign . Was looking to see The full name. The guy on reception was extremely helpful as he stood outside to direct us in.

Staff are absolutely lovely - warm welcome from super nice receptionist who gave me directions to gig I was going to & sorted my request for quiet room on high floor. I had spacious room with bath all immaculately clean. Hotel was great value, also perfectly located for university quarter & just a short stroll to station & city centre. Highly recommended!

We especially liked the lovely welcome (late in the evening). Breakfast was pretty good, in our party the adults loved it but the kids mainly ate the good thick rashers of bacon. Our room was a very generous size (family room for 4).

The door handle on the bathroom was loose, only very minor. Trying to think of things rather actually able to fault it.

Very pleasant place to stay, plenty of parking. No problems with check in all straightforward. Staff very helpful. Had a 2cd floor room,lifts close to reception. Our room was very good, spacious and clean plus bathroom plenty of towels and shampoos. All extras as indicated present plus spare pillows. Bed very comfortable had an excellent night's sleep ! Breakfast was fine plenty of choice for all tastes. All in all had a brilliant stay at hotel, very reasonably priced, Would recommend the Legacy to anybody staying in Preston.

Good value

Massive coachload in for Breakfast on Sunday - that didn't start serving until 8-00 am - utterly poor would have preferred service to start at 7-00 or at least 7-30 when there is a coachload in the hotel. Will not book again unless this is fixed. Otherwise rating would be much higher.

The breakfast selection was excellent, with plenty of options and generous portions. The bed was also very comfortable, making for a pleasant and restful stay. Parking was convenient and added to the overall ease of our stay.

The hotel is by the main A road and near train station so great for access. If you face the road then recommend a room higher up. We were made aware when checking in though and we were happy with our room.

Nothing negative to say, merely that your chargers can’t have cables plugging in at the bottom like nine did as the sockets are only a little above a desk, not leaving enough room. The hotel staff kindly lent me a charger. See photo.

Our room was so noisy ,so close to the busy road and railway line that it felt like you were sleeping in the underpass. Also entrance was not well signposted from the carpark.

A big coach party made it difficult to move around the place and breakfast was impossible with so many people there at once.

Check in was smooth and quick, room was clean and bed was comfy. Breakfast in the morning was busy and everything was great

Bathroom - handles coming off bath, plug not really keeping water in Bedroom - one charging point not working as it had been pushed in. Plug sockets were too low down so charging plugs wouldn't fit - charging points at the base of the plug. Not enough milk pots for tea/coffee. Room was very hot and stuffy, only a simple fan in the room which didn't reach the bed even on the highest setting.

I am very happy with the breakfast, which is fresh and has lots of choices to make. The restaurant is clean, and the staff are attentive and offer the best customer service. I have no problem. and will recommend people to visit the hotel.

I felt hot due to the heat. I did not know there was a fan in the room but was locked in the cupboard. It is good to tell the customer what is available for them to use within the room and where to find it. The weather is hot; just my suggestion. However, the bed is comfortable, and I slept well.

No air conditioning and the room was very hot (there was a fan in the wardrobe) Unable to leave window open due to the road noise. Spare pillows in the wardrobe were wet as someone previously had left water in the iron which had leaked into the pillows.

Location. We chose as near railway station but area a bit dodgy for elderly people. Very noisy as next to ring road.

The staff were amazing, very friendly, explained everything and made me feel very comfortable and at ease and did everything they could to make me feel welcome. Especially busy with world cup on and open golf. Even brought my evening meal to my room. Cannot thank them enough.

Unfortunately, arrived when the golf open was on - and inflated prices doesn't help you like the area. Understand it, but do not like it. The room was great for my needs - good that it was a cool room in a heatwave.

Location and free parking. Walk to market area is 5 - 8 mins. 24hr staff, with food and drink available. Breakfast room on the lower ground floor, steps access, brilliant spread of hot and cold foods. All staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Will stay here again when in Preston. All the staff were very warm friendly and professional especially the barman on the late shift. Really good breakfast with plenty of choices and unrushed atmosphere. Large clean bedroom with large double bed and wonderful supportive pillows and good bath/shower. Hotel is located about 15 minutes walk from the train station and main shopping area and around 5 min walk from various pubs, restaurants and takeaway place including an amazing fish and chip place.
