Powys Lodge

The property is lovely and clean and in a great location. We always stay here when we go to the bike racing at Oliver’s mount . It is 10 minutes walk to the track and 10 minutes walk into town. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is amazing with lots of choices. If you didn’t want to walk into town there are lots of amenities very close by, a couple of good pubs and plenty of takeaways plus a Sainsbury’s local. Would definitely recommend Powys Lodge.

I can honestly say that Powys Lodge is one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed in, decorated throughout to a very high standard. Tina the owner is so friendly and helpful and is the reason that I have stayed here four times now, breakfast is always excellent . Highly recommended.

On site parking. A short walk to the front. Tina is very helpful & friendly looking after her quests is spot on. Clean room with Fab comfortable bed. Breakfast has a wide range of options - full English is very tasty and good portion. - Thank you Tina for a great stay, definitely recommended.

The room was very small but adequate. The bathroom is extremely small. We are small in size and we kept bumping our heads on the beam

This is a really excellent B&B. The owner puts her heart and soul into ensuring that her guests have an enjoyable stay. The building is maintained to a high standard and the rooms are presented well and serviced daily. The breakfasts are prepared fresh, served hot and are superb.

The property was beautiful and well maintained throughout. Very clean and comfortable. Beds comfortable if a little small. Breakfast was really good as you ordered daily what you wanted for the next day so no waste. Tina was friendly and so lovely she couldn’t do enough for you.

Tina gave us a very warm welcome and looked after us well. This guest house is beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, quiet, and spotlessly clean (and I am fussy). The breakfast choice was excellent and cooked to order using quality ingredients; there is a choice of breakfast times. Parking was easy and the convenient position of the guest house meant that we could leave the car and walk. We hope to stay at Powys Lodge again.

Powys lodge is fantastic! I had the best stay! The room was perfect, and had everything you need, including a kettle, tea making facilities and a little pack of digestives! The breakfast was brilliant, the design is beautiful and Tina was so helpful and kind! I would highly recommend staying here!

Well where do I start ? As soon as I stepped inside i had the feeling I'd found a gem. Absolutely blown away by the decor. The very warmest welcome by the beautiful Tina such a nice lady. I booked a single room it was far bigger than anywhere I have stayed in the past again decor was bright and fresh. The room had a en suite a very comfortable bed, tv, settee, tea & coffee, Lots of storage and Absolutely spotlessly clean. The breakfast choice is amazing so much choice. I had a full English which was cooked, presented and served with perfection. I really enjoyed my stay and it will definitely be my first choice when next staying at Scarborough Well done Tina

The one thing I didn't like was having to come home, wish I could have stayed longer !

I really enjoyed my stay here. The landlady Tina is a wonderful person who welcomes you with open arms. The ensuite room was spotlessly clean and had a very comfortable bed with good pillows and bed linen. They serve a full english breakfast each morning which is absolutely delicious and a great way to start the day. It is only a 5 minute walk to the South cliff for lovely sea views and around 15 minutes to the train station. It is probably the best value for money guesthouse I have ever stayed at in Scarborough.

The welcome from our host Tina was lovely she is so friendly and hospitable and the B & B really feels like a home away from home because of her friendly, chatty personality. She is so attentive and asked all the guests everyday if everything was OK with their room and if they needed anything; the personal touch really makes a stay here very special. The location is ideal just a few minutes walk from the cliff top overlooking South Bay where you can walk down a winding pathway onto the sea front. The main town centre with pubs and restaurants is about a 15 min stroll downhill. Our room was on the top floor and was very clean and cozy, it had a wardrobe and an excellent wall mounted flat screen TV we had a kettle, tea and coffee plus complementary biscuits which was nice. We also had a fan in the room which was much needed as we visited during a summer heatwave. We enjoyed a lovely full English cooked breakfast each morning served to us by Tina and we enjoyed the overall friendly atmosphere of the breakfast room as guests chatted to each other.

There is nothing not to like about Powys Lodge it is a lovely place to stay. We just could have done with a bigger room as we stayed for 6 nights and we had a lot of luggage with us, if we stay again we will make sure we book one of the rooms on the first floor which Tina showed us before we checked out and they were superb.

The host Tina was so lovely and friendly , breakfast was always piping hot . Room was really clean on arrival and smelt nice and fresh It was easy to find and was approximately a 15 minute walk from the train station, plenty of buses and taxis if you don’t want to walk .

Location quiet, good choice for breakfast nicely cooked ,very tastefully decorated throughout including all public areas, can see that a lot of time, thought and money has gone into making Powys the b+b , which has now become my favourite Tina the owner is a pocket rocket, she keeps on top of everything

Can’t think of anything negative to say

Tina the owner was very helpful in telling my brother and me where we could have a meal. The off street parking is also a bonus, and the breakfast is very good. The property is very clean and decorated very highly which is a credit to Tina who does it herself. If I'm in this area again I wouldn't hesitate to come back or recommend to anyone else.

I'm 73 and it's the nicest B&B I have ever stayed in . Everything was wonderful, I have booked to stay again and that's not something I would normally do.

The Powys Lodge is no doubt the best B and B I have stayed in. The room was clean and the facilities were excellent. The breakfast was superb cooked fresh to order. In fact I was so impressed I booked again for next year. The host Tina was brilliant. She would do anything to make your stay pleasant. Recommend to anyone. 5 star

Tina, was so welcoming and accommodating, and the room was clean , modern and comfortable, breakfast was beautiful, you could have your fill of items, even dietry needs and fussy eaters were catered for!! the bus stop was very handy taking you to great locations, the small high street was very handy to pop to for a small snack or a bottle of wine, to settle down with at night after a busy day Everyone has been so nice and helpful through out the short break, from Tina to the other guests to the bus drivers, taxi drivers, testing drivers and other passengers, and visitors to the area See you again Tina for our next gig in town!!! Lovely decor, room clean and comfy. Staff so kind and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Powys Lodge to anyone wanting to stay in Scarborough. It exceeded my expectations and the breakfast was really nice.

I stayed in a single room, but it had everything I needed for a short stay - a bed, a sofa, a desk with a TV, a small wardrobe, a bathroom with a shower of course. I loved the freshly cooked breakfast. Tina was so nice and sweet, always checking if I needed anything in my room, she made me feel like home not in a hotel. The location was just perfect - easy to get to the train station or the seaside.

Absolutely loved our stay here. We were greeted by the most friendly and welcoming person I have ever met that takes the time to get to know all the guests. The room was spotlessly clean and decorated beautifully. It had everything we needed for our stay and more, but if it didn't, I felt like you need only ask, and it would be provided. It was well stocked with various hot drinks and biscuits. The rest of the house was decorated beautifully too. Extra drinks and books were available in the lounge. The pre ordered breakfast was perfect. There were hot and cold options, and we were asked more than once if we wanted anything topped up. The location was good. Just a ten minute walk from both beach and town. Wifi was great and easy to connect. Would definitely recommend 👌

The tv was slightly older, so we couldn't connect to Netflix, although it really wasn't that important to us because we didn't spend that long in the room.
