Wonderful stay in a gorgeous hotel. The staff was amazing and everyone was welcoming of us and our baby. The outdoor areas were great to hang out at night after she went to bed. The decor truly made us feel like we travelled back in time while having all the necessary to be comfortable. Highly recommend!

Very pretty building and made me feel like royalty. Very polite and nice staff. You could store your luggage and check-in already. They will ask you to come back later for picking up the key. When I came back, my bag was already delivered to my room! Breakfast was full of options and in a cosy setting. They even offer you the “nice” handmade cappuccino (recommended! Delicious) Nice bed, coffee option in hotelroom and the aircon was a dream with the hot weather. Very cute garden, there was a “living room” with a bar. The location is easy to reach and I loved the fact is was close to all the popular areas, but far enough to enjoy the quietness. With the river in front of the building!

Because of the old age of the building the electronics were a bit outdated, but they did the job. The room has an automatic timer on the main lights, so sometimes it just turns off when I am sitting. I couldn’t find a way to switch this off. The door isolation was very little, so it was a bit noisy when people were walking/talking at the doorstep. Earplugs recommended if you are a light sleeper like me.

Breakfast started late @ 8:00. For tours I had to miss breakfast one day.

​We had a fantastic experience staying at Hotel Principe. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, making us feel right at home. ​Each morning started with a wonderful breakfast that gave us the perfect energy boost for exploring the city. After a long day of sightseeing, unwinding in the charming, peaceful garden was a absolute highlight. ​During our visit, Florence was experiencing a heatwave, so having a cold, perfectly working AC in the bedroom made a world of difference for getting a great night's sleep. Speaking of sleep, the bed was comfortable and spotlessly clean. ​Overall, a lovely, comfortable, and well-kept hotel, we would happily stay here again!

Just to be aware of the city tax fee added to the final bill as it is a standard mandatory charge across Florence.

Great location just outside of the main tourist area but still close to all the key attractions which are within easy walking distance. Front desk and all staff were so kind and attentive and being right on the river is lovely. Views from the rooftop and being able to enjoy breakfast in the bar were nice.

The decor / general building is looking a bit tired and in need of a face lift. Breakfast wasn’t the best but was included in the price so no complaints.

The location was very convenient for our excursions into Florence. We had a very warm welcome. The hotel is very traditional Italian in the best way possible. We loved the breakfast in the beautiful little garden and the views from the roof top. All the staff were friendly and very welcoming and helpful. Lots of little touches that made our stay memorable and comfortable.

The property was in an excellent location for wandering around Florence. The decor was charming, staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Did have the afternoon sun streaming in our windows. Air conditioning helped!

Loved the hospitality. The entire staff was super accommodating. And the owner personally was extremely humble and down to earth.

I absolutely adored my 10-day stay at Hotel Principe. I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful boutique hotel and even lovelier staff! The daily breakfast was an absolute feast. On top of the vast array of delicious treats (both sweet and savoury) the staff offered custom meals (the French toast is a must, absolutely spectacular) and the best cappuccinos I’ve had in the city. The garden is beyond aesthetic and incredibly peaceful, whether you’re enjoying breakfast on a quiet morning, reading a book by the wall of ivy in the afternoon, or even looking onto it from the balcony of one of a dozen rooms with the most stunning views of the Duomo. The dual lounges, the rooftop’s cozy seating, and the breathtaking views of both the city and the Arno are top-notch. The beds are incredibly comfortable with buttery-smooth thread count, the rooms are equipped with A/C and a fun espresso machine (and frothing spout) so you can make your own cappuccinos throughout the day. Which I very much did. The building is in an elegant, clean, safe, and quiet neighbourhood, right next to the Arno. You’re right around the corner from a bus-stop, a 5-6 min walk from the tram that takes you directly to/from the airport, and about a 10-15 min walk from all the major attractions (Duomo, Central Market, Uffizi Galleries, Pitti Palace, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, etc.) And on top of all that, the beautiful and lovely hotel manager, Beatrice, offered me a ride to Piazzale Michelangelo where I was blessed with the most breath-taking view of Florence you can imagine! A must if you visit the city! Suffice it to say, my stay here was an absolute dream and I miss the hotel and everyone I met already. I cannot wait to go back! One little tip: bring mosquito spray if you’re travelling to Italy in the summer. I really wish I could’ve spent more time outside, particularly in the hotel’s beautiful gardens. Grazie mille!

It is a beautiful hotel in a great location along short walk from Pontevecchio. The style of the hotel and attention to detail is wonderful.

We had the best time staying here for our honeymoon! The stay exceeded our expectations. We booked it very last minute due to needing a new place to stay, and our room was ready as soon as we arrived. We stayed for our honeymoon and they upgraded our room when we arrived. They were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful when providing recommendations about the city. We would stay here again!

The property is in a fabulous location on the Arno. It’s easily found . If in doubt just walk along the river from the Ponte Vecchio. The decor was amazing and the view from my room stunning. It was indeed a room with a view.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo splendido hotel tra lunedì e venerdì e non potevamo chiedere di meglio.La struttura si trova in una posizione fantastica, che ci è piaciuta tantissimo perché permette di girare comodamente la città. Fin dal nostro arrivo, l'accoglienza dell'albergo è stata calorosa e impeccabile. Nota di merito assoluta per tutto lo staff: persone gentilissime, sempre disponibili e professionali. Si respira una gestione familiare che noi apprezziamo sempre molto, capace di far sentire l'ospite coccolato e a casa,colazione: davvero squisita e curata nei minimi dettagli. Ritorneremo sicuramente in futuro. Consigliatissimo

L'unica cosa che ci sarebbe piaciuta di più sarebbe stata avere le due camere affacciate direttamente sull'Arno; tuttavia, abbiamo comunque goduto di una bellissima vista panoramica verso la città.

A lovely, warm hotel in the city entrance. It has the sense of the old times, with heavily decorated rooms and wooden furniture. The room was spacious for a family of 4, with an extra large bathroom and a great view of the city and the river. In 10-15 minutes by walking you are in the city center, which is a big plus of this hotel. The breakfast was also delicious with fresh made dishes and fruits. The patio area behind the hotel building is also a nice spot to relax and have a drink. The terrace of this hotel provides breathtaking views to the city but needs renovation in or at least a different type of usage to make the experience greater. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and supportive and gave us a lot of tips for nearby restaurants.

Our luggage was brought up the steps immediately upon arrival almost as if they were waiting for us ,we were exhausted from the heat so it was very much appreciated.Our room was beautiful and we loved the terrace over looking the garden.Breakfast had lots of choices like pastries ,fruit ,eggs etc

Excellent hotel bien placé (15 mn du centre historique, donc juste la bonne distance pour que ce soit tranquille mais faisable à pied), personnel accueillant et souriant. Chambres calmes et confortables, excellente literie. Un très bon rapport qualité prix.

El hotel es antiguo pero es la temática que manejan, es muy cómodo, tenía todo lo necesario y el desayuno estaba incluido y era variado. Uno de los recepcionistas que hablaba español fue muy amable conmigo e hizo mi estancia más agradable

Staff was wonderful, and very attentive. Very helpful with guidance on what to do and how to do about seeing everything. Sadly there W was an empty bag if crisp on the dressing when we went into our room. I’m sure this was a small oversight. Other than that perfect all around and would visit again.

Location was super central, super short to walk to the station and all the hotspots, great bar and restaurants. The staff were so friendly! Super helpful and I was made the perfect Aperol spritz there. I’m now obsessed with them! Lovely quiet very comfy air conditioned room, great shower, beautiful brekkie and garden, all right on the river. Loved every moment.

It’s all about the location of this Hotel, with a palazzo atmosphere of older times. Very near the town center, overlooking the river. The room we stayed in was for a family of 4, very spacious, high ceiling and a large bathroom. The view from the room to the city was superb. Breakfast served at a nice room on the ground floor. Special tribute to the garden on the back side of the hotel and the rooftop lounge area with a spectacular view to Firenze. The Hotel’s staff was extremely helpful and supportive to our requests.

A beautiful old hotel with excellent staff. We were upgraded to a very large room with a large balcony where you could sit and look out across the Arno river, fantastic! Breakfast was also excellent, everything you could want and the staff were incredibly helpful. Great location for exploring.

From the moment we arrived, Hardip was extremely helpful, recommending somewhere for dinner and where to explore. The hotel was stunning- kept to its original beauty with modern updates. Breakfast was lovely in the garden and the location was right in the heart of Florence but felt like you were out in the countryside. Rooms were spacious and the bed was very comfy. Would definitely stay again!

L'emplacement idéal. Proche du centre-ville 1,5 km. Parking assuré, même si c'est payant. Personnel très sympathique et agréable. Petit déjeuner copieux.

Le salle de bain est très sommaire. Pas de place de poser la serviette de bain une fois utilisé. WC très bas donc inconfortable. Pour un hôtel 4 étoiles ce n'est pas top.

The staff were very irresponsible and did not respond at all after I checked out. The university halved my booking fee because their untrained staff couldn't change my reservation from two to one at checkout.

Our stay here at Hotel Principe was a great stay! The rooms are spacious, clean, beds comfortable, and the decor certainly aesthetically pleasing. The entire staf is also very friendly and accommodating, especially Ferdinando who also helped us know what to see when in Florence and some good places to eat. Furthermore they helped make this vacation (what was in honor of my boyfriends’ 30th birthday) just a bit more special with a delicious bottle of prosecco. Let’s just say if we’re ever back in Florence we’ll be staying here and certainly recommend it to people we know. P.s bonus if you get to pet the sweet dog of the owner.

Hotel is beautiful old building close to the city center, but in quiet area overlooking the river. Room is big with enough storage space and very comfortable bed. It was pleasure to communicate with receptionist Daniel who told us about amazing viewpoint. Staff is very nice and helpful. There's an air conditioner and our room was always cool despite the heat wave.

If I’m clutching at straws I’d say it was just a bit less central than I’d have liked but still a lovely location on the river and only a 10-15 minute walk to main attractions.

Some of the appliances were really old: e.g., the toilet flush kept not working properly.

Staff was very helpful and Junior suit felt like staying in old timey Italian mansion, very cool. Especially the giant marble bathtub.

A hotel with a soul! Beautifully renovated historic building, prime location close to tourist attractions but without traffic and crowds, wonderful river view, great breakfast, beautiful living room like lounge with a bar, and the most helpful and friendly staff members you can imagine!

I cannot mention a thing! Btw, if available, ask for one of the rooms with the river view balcony! Incredible views! PS: I wish I could give this hotel and its staff members more than 10 points!
