Our room was spacious and comfortable. Food was delicious with a good variety of fruit and pastries and protein. Restaurants and shops, historic buildings and markets were all easy to walk to .

The breakfast buffet provided a very good variety of tasty options in a comfortable dining room attended by friendly and courteous staff. Scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, fresh fruit, assorted cheeses, cold cuts and baked goods were replenished often, keeping things fresh. Made to order espresso, cappuccino, lattes were available, and there was a big urn of brewed coffee for those who need their coffee immediately. Everything you need to start your day of exploring lovely Bologna. The location is excellent and within the walking distance of Bologna’s sights. The common areas and room were spotless and well maintained. Our room was very quiet and we slept very comfortably. All staff were kind and accommodating. The location is fantastic.

We found the air conditioning a little tricky to adjust. It was not an issue at all, just an observation. Perhaps a little card explaining how to use it would have helped.

Location is excellent, close to main sites.Breakfast is wholly substantial with very good varied choices, both hot and cold.5th floor room reached by lift.

A wonderful stay in the heart of Bologna The hotel is perfectly located, just a few steps from Piazza Maggiore, and offers a genuinely warm and welcoming experience. I was kindly given an upgrade and stayed in a wonderful room that was spacious, comfortable and very pleasant. The entire team is extremely friendly, attentive and always willing to help. I would especially like to thank Lorenza and Juneth, who were incredibly kind, generous and helpful throughout my stay. They made me feel truly welcome and well cared for. I had a wonderful experience and, whenever I return to Bologna, I will certainly stay at the Art Hotel Orologio again. Highly recommended!

The towels could be newer

The Art Orologia was being renovated, and the hotel moved us to the Hotel Commerciali, which I believe is a nicer property. Great location! They were very helpful in arranging our car service from the hotel to the cruise terminal. The breakfast was amazing!! I could have stayed there all day. We had two rooms for our family of 5 - the larger of the two rooms had a small terrace that was so cute! Will definitely stay again on a return trip to Bologna!

La posizione è semplicemente fantastica: in meno di un minuto a piedi si arriva in Piazza Maggiore, quindi è perfetta per visitare il centro senza dover prendere l'auto. La cosa che ci ha colpito di più è stata la gentilezza di tutto il personale. Dalla reception ai camerieri, fino alle signore delle pulizie, tutti sono stati estremamente disponibili e sempre sorridenti, facendoci sentire davvero i benvenuti, anche con le nostre due bambine. Abbiamo soggiornato nella Suite Piazza Maggiore ed era davvero splendida: spaziosa, curata nei minimi dettagli e molto confortevole. Per la nostra bambina di cinque mesi ci hanno fatto trovare una comoda culletta già pronta in camera, un'attenzione che abbiamo apprezzato tantissimo. Un altro gesto che non dimenticheremo è stato il late check-out fino alle 14:00, concesso gratuitamente. Considerando il caldo e il fatto che viaggiavamo con due bambine piccole, è stato un aiuto enorme e un'attenzione che dimostra quanto tengano davvero ai loro ospiti. È un hotel curato in ogni particolare, dove si percepisce la passione per l'ospitalità. Lo consiglio davvero a chiunque debba soggiornare a Bologna. Senza dubbio è tra i migliori hotel in cui abbiamo avuto il piacere di alloggiare.

We are a family of 4 and stayed in one of the apartment suites. Lovely, clean property and the staff was all very welcoming and helpful. Location is great, right in the centre of downtown with lots of shops and food. We had breakfast included with our stay and my daughter in celiac and they were so lovely and made sure she had a variety of options that were safe for her to eat. Would definitely stay again.

Central Location, Italian elegance of decor, warm staff, delicious breakfast (hot foods are available), all on the target and met our expectations.

What an excellent hotel. Staff friendly and attentive, rooms good as was breakfast. Very art nouveau with Rennie Mackintosh Argyle chairs and other nouveau touches. There was a massive storm on our last night and we had water ingress. We were provided with an upgrade to a suite as soon as we notified reception. Friendly, polite, clean, quiet and stylish.

The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of Bologna. We had a very comfortable and spacious room, a great shower and breakfast was varied and delicious

The hotel is in the perfect location. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and shops nearby. The hotel is in the historic centre and within walking distance of the major attractions like the old market quarter, the two towers, university etc. The service and staff is helpful, kind and attentive. The breakfast is excellent and there is a lovely little coffee shop right next door to the hotel.

Great location next to th beautiful piazza. There was a free fill played on a giant screen each night. The whole town showed up to watch. So fun. The staff sent us to fantastic restaurants that were a bargain. Top notch place

Location is as good as it gets for sightseeing in Bologna. Breakfast is excellent. Staff are friendly. Considering the season and heatwave, AC system is impressive.

Because of it's location and proximity to a major plaza holding nightly events (summer film showings at night), it can be noisy at night. I just used earplugs and it was fine. It's not going to be like that and I happened to be in town when that was ongoing during peak season. Someone more sensitive might have more issues with this.

This hotel is in a great location-just a 3-minute walk to the Piazza Maggiore. There was a movie shown in the Piazza on a large screen each night. This was very enjoyable! The medieval architecture was spectacular. The food was excellent. And the wine even more excellent! The hotel breakfast was really good. The hotel room and bathroom were both really spacious and comfortable. There were many shopping and dining places within a 5 minute walk. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city with a hidden entrance. The rooms are well appointed with a nice vibe (at least where we were). The breakfast room was nice with the quality and variety of the food offered very good with attention to organic ingredients which was a positive surprise. The service during the breakfast was excellent with nice barista coffee. The hotel met our expectations and in some cases went above ( little complimentary organic items). Highly recommended for those are seeking a place with a nice vibe and attention to details. This will be our hotel for the next stay in Bologna.

Location is amazing, right in the action of the piazza. The room was lovely, lots of space if we wanted to come back for a rest, a lovely welcome fruit plate as well. All the comforts we needed, lovely beds and linen. Then you get to breakfast and it is amazing, super friendly staff and anything you could dream of to have for breakfast. Was a highlight each morning in the very Italian dining room. We loved being in Bologna and when we come back we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We loved our stay at Art Hotel Orologio in Bologna. It was close to everything and the service was great... even a welcome bottle of champagne and treats.

Very enjoyable extended weekend holiday! We thoroughly enjoyed Suite Maggiore and the location of hotel which enabled walking excursions to practically all city sights and restaurants. The level of service was defined by e-mail that was sent to me on arrival asking if everything was satisfactory. As I wrote back that ironing board and iron were missing in the room, it took less than 5 minutes for the door bell to ring and those were delivered! Breakfast was good and there was all the variety we needed to choose from! Extra bonus was the free open air concert on Sunday night on Piazza Maggiore which was easy for us to attend as the distance was mere 100 meters.

We recently had a lovely one-night stay at Art Hotel Orologio which is right in the historic centre of Bologna, perfectly located for exploring this amazing city. I had reserved parking in advance and the driving instructions I received helped make that easy for us. The room was spacious and comfortable with every amenity, and we had a lovely breakfast before we left. I highly recommend Art Hotel Orologio to anyone visiting the fabulous city of Bologna.

The location is phenomenal. You are just feet away from Plaza Maggiore. The staff are lovely, too. Kind and responsive.

The toilet also smelt slightly of canal water. The barroom was spotlessly clean when I arrived, but there was a faint unpleasant odor that never quite left. Also, I liked it, but guests should ld be aware that the mattresses are quite firm.

We recently had a 3-night stay at the Art Hotel Orologio in Bolognia. The hotel was clean and freshly decorated, and the staff was professional and accommodating. We arrived early and expected to dropoff our bags and check out the city, however upon arrival our rooms were ready and we checked in. After returning from lunch a split of prosecco and a snack were awaiting us! The front desk arranged car service to Florence for our departure and a cab for an early meet with a tour to Parma. Everything was spot on. There was an elegant breakfast buffet offered in the morning with friendly staff to provide a personalized experience. The location at the Piazza Maggiore was perfect for our many walks in and around the city. The Quadrilatero (food district) was a short walk, blocks from the piazza. We had an amazing meal at Trattoria Gianni on our last night (reservations needed). We also found some excellent shops on Via d"Azeglio right near the hotel. Perfect stay for us in Bolognia!

There are many hotels to choose from in Bologna but I am very happy we chose here- perfect location, beautiful clean rooms, excellent breakfast and helpful/kind staff

The hotel is ideally positioned right by Piazza Maggiore and very well appointed and comfortable. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and would definitely try to stay there again if we are lucky enough to return to Bologna.

The property was in a great location and the room was awesome. Only issue was the noise. Because it is in a great location you hear everything. Late and early. But we were there only one night so it did not really matter.

Domenico went above and beyond to get us a ride to the airport. Had trouble getting taxi and arranged a private car. Not costly. All the staff was lovely. Advice not to make dinner rez Mon nite was bad—they were booked up when we arrived. Very disappointing. Otherwise, great stay. Thanks.

Situated in the perfect part of town, just steps away from the magnificent Neptune fountain and Piazza Maggiore, but in a quiet little spot. Very helpful front desk. Delicious breakfast with many options. We are so happy we chose this hotel.

My wife Estelle and I had a pleasure to stay on this wonderful Hotel for three days We were so well looked after by all the staff members and management team. We had a beautiful room overlooking the main square and a French balcony opened up to give us fresh air and to hear the church bells sound Breakfast was fantastic and a hot chocolate was the best in Europe Using the lounge to relax in the afternoon as needed was wonderful We had the pleasure to meet the owner A big thank you to all reception staff and breakfast staff for looking after us . We stayed at thiks hotel for one night while we were in Bologna and it truly was a wonderful choice. You cannot find a better location for the center of the city - walk out of the front door and you're at Piazza Maggiore so truly in the center of it all. There are also loads of restaurants in the location from tourist traps to hidden gems so no problem finding a place to dine. The staff is friendly and very helpful and the breakfast is a great option with ample food choices for all appetites. If you're planning a stay in Bologna this one is a winner!

The hotel is beautiful, and centrally located to all the major attractions in Bologna. There are many excellent restaurants nearby which is very convenient. The best part is the evening live music in the Piazza Maggiore where the hotel is located. We really enjoy our stay there.

The Art Hotel Orologio in Bologna is a beautiful hotel in every way. Our suite was elegant, large, sunny and exceptionally comfortable, with a beautiful outlook over the main square. The service and communication was excellent, from arrival to departure, including seamless car parking arrangements. The location is unmatched for sightseeing, shopping and dining, right in the old city centre, and the breakfast, included in the tariff, was outstanding, extremely plentiful, with a huge variety of sweet and savoury offerings, all delicious. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again!

This was a lovely, intimate hotel. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the friendly, helpful locals at the desk who gave recommendations on restaurants and activities. The hotel also provided a hearty and delicious breakfast. I highly recommend it. We also enjoyed Bologna immensely. The food is amazing!

You couldn't find a more central location - literally a few steps from Piazza Maggiore - perfect for exploring everything this wonderful city offers. The Art Hotel Orologio is a little gem, spotlessly clean & comfortable, and we found all of the staff, without exception, to be super friendly and helpful. A great breakfast, good coffee and a nice little lounge area to relax in if you wish. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We stayed here three nights in April, and we will definitely stay here again next time we go to Bologna (three nights was not enough!). The hotel is comfortable and very clean, the staff members are friendly and helpful, the bed was comfy, and the breakfast spread was extensive and delicious. The location can't be beat, just around the corner from Piazza Maggiore. We have nothing negative to say about Hotel Orologio.

We stayed here in October 2023 during our first visit to Bologna and knew this was where we wanted to stay for our second visit in May 2026. The hotel has an excellent location, breakfast and rooms. The staff are cordial and helpful. The hotel is very clean and well maintained; it hasn’t aged since our first visit. Excellent overall!
