Hotel Marbella

The best part of staying at the Hotel Marbella was the location and the friendliness of the staff.

My room was extremely noisy. You can hear everything happening in any adjacent room - upstairs, across the hall, next door, etc. There are bars all around and you can hear the music pumping until all hours of the night. To top it off, the woman staying in the room next to me had an issue with her lock and they were trying to get her in to her room until midnight - banging on the lock, loud conversations in various languages as to how to go about remedying the situation, drilling the lock out, etc. This went on until after midnight. Then someone was back the next day at 8:30am to recommence the drilling, banging, etc. Then there was the group of young women staying down the hall who were whooping it up, screaming, hollering, etc. It sounded like they were having a good old time, unfortunately it was not as much fun for me :). In short, don't expect to get much rest if you're staying in this hotel. The other thing I will note is that cleanliness was not top of their agenda. The carpet on the stairs looked like it had never been cleaned, there was dust and dirt on the top of the light switches and the baseboards, stains on the ceiling of the bathroom and mold in the shower. The sheets were clean, though, so that was good. I would not stay here again despite the good location. There are plenty of other hotels in the area and hopefully they have better sound insulation.

Amazing location right at Port Vieux Beach! Close to lots of lovely restaurants, bars and shops. Good size room with balcony. Hotel had umbrellas we could borrow for the beach. Friendly and helpful staff.

Lo único bueno es la ubicación, pero nada novedoso porque la zona está llena de hoteles.

La habitación no era absolutamente nada que ver con la descripción, era de tan mala calidad que sacando jabón se salió una baldosa de la muralla. Tuvimos invasión de hormigas, no habían enchufes en ningún lugar estratégico, el aire acondicionado es antiguo y regular. Es como una habitación de pésima calidad donde te cobran extremadamente caro por la ubicación. No lo recomiendo para nada, fue tan incomodo que dormir ahí me provocó dolor de espaldas y me sentí tonta de botar el dinero así.

De kamer vonden wij echter klein en niet erg schoon. Ook ontbrak afzuiging in de badkamer, waardoor deze vochtig bleef. Het grootste probleem vonden wij de brandveiligheid. Voor zover wij konden zien was er slechts één vluchtroute. Daarnaast werden op iedere verdieping de brandwerende deuren met kastjes opengehouden. Dat is naar mijn mening een zeer serieus veiligheidsrisico, omdat deze deuren juist bedoeld zijn om de verspreiding van rook en brand te beperken. Wij hebben dit bij de receptie gemeld. Bij brand op een lagere verdieping kan de enige vluchtroute door rook of vuur onbruikbaar worden. Gasten op hogere verdiepingen kunnen dan mogelijk afhankelijk worden van redding door de brandweer met een ladderwagen. Dat is niet hoe een veilige vluchtwegvoorziening bedoeld is te functioneren. Door deze situatie hebben wij ons niet veilig gevoeld. Zolang dit niet aantoonbaar wordt opgelost, zouden wij dit hotel daarom niet opnieuw boeken. Verder is het ontbijt matig en karig.

The hotel was excellent - we will certainly return - the staff were incredibly helpful - it was our 30th wedding anniversary and they made sure that we got a gorgeous room.

El hotel se ubica cerca de la playa en una calle con muchos bares y mucho ambiente. El hotel no tiene aparcamiento propio, pero cerca hay varios aparcamientos (incluido subterraneo), así que hemos aparcado sin problema. El personal del hotel es muy amable. Nous avons aimé la situation à 2 pas de la plage du Vieux Port et dans une rue où il était possible de trouver toutes sortes de restaurations. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'accueil chaleureux, familial et la disponibilité de toutes et tous.

La ubicación tan céntrica , cerca de todos lo lugares a visitar, y con una amplia gama de restaurantes, terrazas, tiendas, etc..

La calle nocturna muy ruidosa hasta altas horas de la madrugada, y el desayuno lo podrían mejorar. La relación calidad precio del desayuno está desequilibrada. Al menos ampliar más fruta natural o charcutería.

Le balcon avec vue sur l’océan était très agréable, la plage à deux pas. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour.

La chambre était plus que limite au niveau de la propreté (la poubelle et le frigo n'ont pas rencontré d'éponge depuis longtemps) + des tâches sur le linge de maison + cheveux et autres sur le "sur-matelas". Le matelas est défoncé, à changer d'urgence.

Posso dire bene solo del personale, credo forse i proprietari. La signora si è adoperata subito quando al nostro arrivo in stanza abbiamo trovato il letto bagnato (lenzuolo, copriletto,piumino).

Stanza rumorosa, sulla strada che porta al mare, fino alle 4 del mattino confusione. Letto e materasso praticamente a terra. Struttura vetusta. Un gran peccato per il posto in cui si trova. Sarebbe oro!

Just a perfect location, super close to the beaches and a great variety of nearby restaurants & bars!

The location is the only benefit they have. Do not stay here!!! The hotel matches nothing like the pictures, the WiFi barely works, it’s dirty and the staff is unfriendly.

The place is falling apart and looks nothing like the pictures. We had a dripping AC in the first room they gave us and couldn’t sleep all night while the room got wet. They gave us buckets as a solution. WiFi doesn’t work, sink doesn’t drain, staff is extremely unhelpful and unfriendly. And booking.com did very little to support in this nightmare stay. Plus, it was super expensive!!!

Location is second to none. Room is small, but manageable, bathroom has everything you need. Tea and coffee supplied, no milk. Beach towels available, a real bonus. Bed is very comfortable. Would stay again as the location is amazing.

Air con was great in one room, not good in another. No milk for the tea or coffee. The TV had poor service/reception. Not one English channel. That's ok, if it was upgraded to a smart TV, it wouldn't be noticeable.

Personnel peu agréable. Nous avons demandé à ce que la chambre soit faite après la première nuit, les équipements (gobelets, thé, bouteilles d'eau) n'ont pas été remis. Hôtel sans isolation, impossible de dormir la nuit. Fuite d'eau par le plafond à cause de la climatisation, personnel prévenu mais personne n'a bougé et nous avons dû passer la nuit comme ça ! Mauvaise indication des parkings alentour. Pas de connexion Wi-Fi dans la chambre au 2e étage. Je ne recommande ABSOLUMENT PAS cet hôtel, 200 €/nuit pour une qualité comme ça, c'est INADMISSIBLE.

L'emplacement idéal

La qualité des prestations n'est pas du tout en adéquation avec le prix. On ne doit pas payer que l'emplacement, il y a un minimum décent à respecter, comme une fenêtre qui ferme et un minimum d'isolation phonique (j'entendais toutes les conversations téléphoniques de ma voisine de chambre), ainsi que des éléments d'équipement en état de fonctionnement. La télévision ne fonctionnait pas à mon arrivée et j'ai dû me débrouiller toute seule pour la remettre en route car personne n'a réussi à m'aider, et l'ascenseur n'a pas du tout fonctionné pendant notre séjour, c'est loin d'être pratique avec des valises quand on est au 4eme étage. Peu importe le prix d'ailleurs, j'aurais souligné les mêmes dysfonctionnements si mon séjour avait coûté 4 fois moins cher. C'est une question de décence.

L'emplacement est parfait. Nous avons cru que le parking était compris avec l'hôtel. Monique a été d'une aide précieuse dans le conseil de bons restaurants. Très agréable et très professionnelle pour nous guider dans la ville.

INSONORISÉ ! Bruit insupportable sur les 2 cotes. Climatisation ancienne - avec la chaleur on à eu besoin de climatisation mais elle faisait un bruit comme une ancienne aspirateur. Donc impossible de dormir avec climatisation et avec les fenêtres ouvertes encore pire .

It’s an excellent location, right in the middle of everything! Excellent bars and cafes around, stone throw from a beach.

I wouldn’t bother with the breakfast, not enough variety to justify the price. Nicer cafes around to go to. If you are someone who needs extremely strong aircon in summer, this might not be ideal for you. It works it’s just not extremely strong.

Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Location is superb. Room was very comfortable. Beach towels were provided upon request. AC was great on the hot days.

Parking is a bit difficult. We were advised to park in a certain lot upon check in but it’s actually impossible to access the lot during certain hours due to the street bolsters that are raised during the afternoon and evenings. We found another lot but a bit stressful as it’s a super busy area and narrow streets.

Akustik. Die Zimmer sind sehr ringhörig. Wenn die Leute heimkommen und die Türe knallen, erwacht man regelmässig. Nichts für Ruhe Suchende.

The rooms smell damp, I don’t know if it’s because of the mop they used or because of how the rooms are cleaned. My mother in law stayed in a different room and she said her towels also smelt damp, like they hadn’t fully dried before the were placed in the rooms. The location is very good. We were due to stay in this hotel a second time, due to the location, only for a few hours as we were to fly home at 8pm so intended to use it to store our bags and so the kids could shower after the beach. I made an error and booked the day before. This was my fault. When I realised my mistake, I contacted the hotel, before we were due to check in to ask the hotel to help us. The hotel receptionist (one lady) who was quite rude, unhelpful and entirely disinterested, orally agreed that we could change our booking if we agreed to pay a higher price. We said we would and she said we needed to contact booking.com, which we did. Booking.com then called the hotel to confirm. The receptionist told them that they would not agree to the change and there was no availability for the night in question, however we could see there were still rooms available on the website for that night. We paid €180 and they refused to help us. They took our money and although the receptionist gave us an email address to contact for help nobody even bothered to email us back. Although this hotel is in a good location, the attitude and customer service is diabolical. I would recommend avoiding it and staying in one of the other similar hotels on the same street.

Perfectly situated for beaches, shopping and dining out. Rooms are modern, clean and bright with good air conditioning. Staff are friendly and couldn’t be more helpful.

Lack of storage in rooms, no drawers and limited hanging space. Only paper cups were provided for coffee and any refreshments you wanted in your room.

La ubicación es ideal, muy cerca de las playas y del puerto viejo, y a un paseo de las zonas comerciales. Nuestra habitación triple era muy espaciosa y cómoda. El desayuno bastante bien, sencillo pero suficiente. El personal muy atento a nuestras necesidades, muy bien.

Creo que deberían hacer alguna reforma. La moqueta de la escalera y pasillos superiores se ve bastante vieja. Las habitaciones están reformadas, aunque el baño de la primera habitación pide una revisión, debido a la humedad. Nos tocó una ola de calor y el aire acondicionado no era capaz de bajar la temperatura de la habitación, sin embargo nos proporcionaron un ventilador y nos cambiaron de habitación a otra donde iba un poco mejor. Por lo demás, todo perfecto.

This hotel has 2 advantages: the fantastic location (and the view is beautiful) and the kind staff.

The room, the bathroom and also the terrace were unacceptably dirty. Upon arrival, I first thought that our bed was already in use as it looked like that. There was dirt everywhere and the floor was sticking. The room was quite small despite of that we had the most expensive room on the top floor. Another thing (although it is not the hotel's fault) is that the street's noise can be heard strongly even on the top floor, don't expect to sleep before midnight.

I did not recognize the location and facade of the hotel from what I remembered of the photograph on Booking. com.

We have stayed here 3 times. The location is fantastic 10/10 and the property offers great value for money. Its not the Ritz with regard decor - but its the ultimate box ticker. Super clean and with all the amenities- including your own iron and ironing board in the room! A rarity in France. The room was also equipped with extra pillows and towels. All small extras but things that make a difference. And wonderful friendly staff. We will return again.

Völlig überteuert. Es gibt Pappbecher für die Zahnbürste bei einem Preis von 180 Euro. Die Klimaanlage hat nicht funktioniert. Es hat nass von der Decke getropft. Der Boden war nass und dreckig. Das Zimmer war laut, da schlecht isolierte Zimmer. Balkon war nicht in Schuss, überall Grünspan. Ein Hotel, das ich nicht mehr betreten möchte und das vor allem überteuert ist. Wegen seiner Lage. Parken übrigens auch nicht am Hotel möglich. Man kommt mit dem Auto nicht mal vernünftig angefahren, um das Gepäck auszuladen.

We loved everything. From the first contact with the hotel the staff was very nice, friendly and honest. It just felt great. The rooms are pretty new and comfortable. Very clean. The location is a dream. Everything is a walking distance.

Location was excellent, very clean and comfortable room with everything we needed.

There was a festival on which made driving to hotel tricky. The instructions for this given by hotel were wrong so we had to keep trying different roads to find one open to get to any car park then walk to hotel. Not bad but stressful!

L’accueil dans l’après midi à la réception du jeune homme et le matin avec la dame très gentille pour ma bagagerie. L’emplacement de l’établissement est parfait ! L’ascenseur est bien pratique quand la chambre est au 4eme. La chambre est grande et il y a tout pour se sentir bien (la ventilation, le grand lit , salle d’eau et son immense douche) , le calme car chambre ne donnait pas sur la rue commerçante.

The hotel is situated along one of the pretty avenues to the sea front just a few minutes walk away from a beautiful cove. Easy access to the beach bars and restaurants.

Very noisy street noise until 2:30 am. Hardly any electrical plug ins. And only 2 towels for 3 guests. Lacked a proper check-in; had to go downstairs to request the wi-fi password.

Lo staff é stato grandioso. La signora proveniente dalla Colombia che ci ha accolto il giorno dell'arrivo é stata gentilissima. Per tutto il soggiorno ci ha consigliato posti da visitare e dove mangiare. Senza di lei devo dire che la vacanza non sarebbe stata lo stesso. Un grazie di cuore a lei e allo staff.

Almost everything. A light switch on the edge of the shower. No power points either side of the bed. Bed very uncomfortable. Laminate flooring felt as though it hadn’t been washed/cleaned.

Bine que nous aurions été "surclassés", la petite chambre propre ne disposait d'aucune isolation phonique : des bruits des bars et restaurants le soir au passage des poubelles et livraison le matin tot, le tmps de sommeil est plus que limité! Literie et oreillers moyens..... Par ailleurs, trés difficile de se garer "gratuitement" à proximité.....

Zufahrt zum Hotel unmöglich. Keine Parkplätze vorhanden - obwohl so kommuniziert. Zimmer riecht nach Schimmel. Extrem hellhörig. Verlebt. Quitschende Betten und schlechte Matratzen.

Comfortable bed, big bathroom, proximity to the beach, helpful, friendly staff.

Location, first of all, near the beach. The staff was extremely kind and helpul. The landscape was incredible.

The lift was quite small and out of order from time to time. There was one unlucky incident during my stay. I found ants everywhere in the room early morning but they changed my room eventually which I very much appreciated. It was partly my fault, as I forgot to throw away some food and apparently thatt triggered the ants' invasion.
