I requested two beds, what we received was a bed pulled apart, in a room that was too small for 2 adults. No space for luggage.

Location and clean

Great location. Coffee and cookies in the lobby were a fun bonus.

The bathroom had an awkward layout with a big step over the tub edge to get into the shower.

The location is amazing. On the Single canal, a quiet spot in the center of everything. The rooms were very clean and were cleaned again daily. The staff was polite and helpful.

The bath tub wasn’t comfortable to shower in. The breakfast was expensive and just OK. The bed mattress was not great. I think the place can be renovated to become great value for money

Unhelpful staff over the phone, I had to call multiple times to get the address of the parking garage and yet the address was sent very late by message. A short 1 hour late checkout is apparently not possible (for free or for a fee) unless you pay for a 3 hours later checkout, which we were not interested in. This seems somewhat inadequate for a hotel of this standing.

The hotel breakfast was very clean with a lot of options. We loved seeing the cats that live at the hotel and the staff were very helpful in planning things to do on our trip.

It was literally all amazing, I wouldn't change a thing about our stay.

The shower didn’t drain well and it soaked the small floor floor towel. We asked for more towels to help soak the water on the first day but they didn’t leave us the towels we already used for bathing to help soak the water The refreshment table was at times empty of cookies☹️☹️

This was our first stay and we will definitely be back. The hotel styling is just lovely, the attention to detail is really something. Our room was not huge but was super comfortable and exceptionally clean. Again the styling was fabulous. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. I also loved the two resident cats!

Very minor but for a 5 star property, would have expected more drinks and snacks perhaps in the room however there was an area in reception with a coffee machine and snacks. The machine didn't seem to have milk a lot of the time we were there. This is very minor though - we really loved it here.

We had a superior room - the bed was large and super comfy. The facilities were great - hairdryer, iron, coffee machine and toiletries. The hotel atmosphere was friendly and staff were excellent. The free coffee and sweet treats in Reception was a lovely addition. I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Our room was beautiful but a little compact.

We have been at Estherea in July 2021. The experience was perfect. We booked directly with the hotel in august 2026 instead of a platform like TripAdvisor or Booking.com. The hotel ruined our resevation of the last room available. Prefer booking with TripAdvisor. The hotel seems poor at taking reservations themselves.

Our room faced a busy street with cafes and bars. Noise was a problem at night and with delivery vans and dustbins from 0600hrs.

Fabulous hotel. Very comfortable and well designed rooms which feel much roomier than their stated size. Breakfasts here are excellent, you want for nothing. The waiting/sitting areas of this hotel are brilliant, beautiful and super comfortable, with quality furniture . Location is hard to beat, 1o mins from ….well, everything you want to see here. Staff are all beautiful people , very courteous, happy chatty and make you feel like they are glad you’re staying here. And beds…… excellent, slept well every night. Thanks for a great stay, our best hotel so far this holiday - and we’ve been in a few!

El personal es muy amable y resuelve rápidamente los requerimientos de los huéspedes. La ubicación es buena sin ser espectacular porque queda un poco alejada de la zona interesante de las tiendas, museos y restaurantes. La decoración del hotel es muy particular.

El tamaño de la habitación y especialmente del baño. No soy una persona alta (1.75 mts) y casi tocaba el techo del baño en cuando entraba a la ducha (lo cual hacía muy difícil bañarme) y en general muy angosta para moverse con comodidad. El techo de la habitación sonaba y hasta vibraban las lámparas cuando el huésped de la habitación de arriba caminaba. Finalmente, no lo recomendaría para un viaje en familia por el olor constante a marihuana que hay por los alrededores y que se filtra a veces hasta los mismos pasillos del hotel (hay varios coffee shops cerca, uno exactamente al lado del comedor por la calle posterior).

Estaba bien pero cuando llegamos quisieron darnos una habitación diferente a la que reservamos. No es de muy buen gusto pagar por una habitación que ves en fotos y luego allá es totalmente diferente. Luego gracias a que nos quejamos nos dieron la habitación correcta.

Such a cute boutique hotel with such beautiful interior design and attentive staff! It was great to just spend time in the lobby to wind down and play with the cats. The location is closer to the quieter neighborhoods and canals of Amsterdam which was very relaxing and scenic.

The room was small. Decor style was reflected in photos but in reality was lacking finesse and was not really high end, even seemed outdated/shabby. The hallway smelled bad. In need of renovation. No attention to detail - coffee / tea available 24/7 but no takeaway cups for guests checking out early…

The room and the overall experience was amazing. Location was perfect and we really enjoyed it.

The valet parking could have been better described. Cash only proved slightly challenging and I was told a higher price than what was originally mentioned. I would ask that you reevaluate the parking deck restriction on hybrid vehicles (as well as EVs). We had to change some of out plans due to the difficulty of not being able to park onsite.

Beautiful hotel immaculate throughout,with fantastic attention to detail.The rooms are spaceious spotless and beautifully dressed ,our room had everything we could need.the staff are extremely friendly and helpful,the breakfast is outstanding with a high varaity on offer. The hotel is situated in a perfect location great for travelling with a young teen close to the busy spots and along a quiet street close to the beautiful streets of Jordaan.Transport links at the end of the street although I’d recommended cycling is the way to go. This hotel is outstanding every part of our stay was perfect.unbeatable Thankyou

La décoration intérieure de l'hôtel correspond tout à fait à un séjour romantique, tel que je le souhaitais. Le personnel est très prévenant et agréable, et les chats, mascottes de l'établissement, sont tout à fait conformes à la description qui en avait été faite.

Seul bémol sur le séjour : il n'y a pas de placard de rangement dans la chambre que nous avions (et probablement dans aucune autre), donc nos affaires sont restés dans les valises. C'est jouable sur 3 jours mais pas plus : dommage. Par ailleurs, il y a bien une machine expresso dans la chambre, avec des capsules remises à niveau chaque jour, mais la femme de ménage n'a pas rajouté de gobelets en carton en même temps que les capsules : ce n'est pas très pratique…

This hotel has charm it’s eccentric. It’s beautifully decorated in a bold and charming way. I loved all the faux flowers. I loved the Floral upholstery and of course I love the cats who are residents of this hotel.

Tem uma moça chamada Lara, assim como ela disse que se chamava, e outras 3 raparigas que me ridicularizaram em frente a um cliente que estava a incentivar a minimização da questão do quarto. O cliente simplesmente fez um gesto infantil, atrás de mim, da qual as recepcionistas deram atenção e literalmente riram-se da situação, alto e sem absoluto respeito por mim como cliente. Literalmente eu estava em frente a elas e assim o fizeram. Só para acrescentar que eu estava com a minha filha. Foi um horror! Queriam-me compensar com €90 apenas sobre os €527 que paguei. Rapazes funcionários também inexperientes e rudes. Conheci simplesmente um rapaz, da qual não me recordo o nome mas extremamente querido, respeitoso e foi graças a ele que saí do hotel com uma memória positiva. Ele faz parte do bar e é de nacionalidades holandesa/suriname. Foi a única pessoa cordial e simpática neste lugar. Este hotel é classificado como o melhor mas chegando lá a realidade é completamente outra. Passeei pela cidade e visitei outros hotéis que são, sem dúvida, muito melhores e mais baratos. Esta gente vende o que não é real e chegando lá deparamo-nos com a realidade.

Alles war einfach fantastisch – von der Lage über die Ausstattung bis hin zum Frühstück und dem unglaublich freundlichen Personal. Für uns steht fest: Wenn Amsterdam, dann nur dieses Hotel!

Leider war unser Aufenthalt viel zu kurz – wir wären sehr gerne noch länger geblieben.

I checked out early so i take my money and do some shopping then informed that they cant cash them out or direct transfer it needs 4 to 5 days so put in ur mind u cant stay until u deposit big amount Moreover no house keeping after 4 Restaurant not open before 5 pm

On the first night, a staff member entered our room unannounced while we were in bed. Gave us a huge fright. They knocked once and just walked in the door, asked if we were ok and left. Very odd! Rooms are very small for the big price you pay. We paid AU$2700 for 4 nights. Plus, we were not informed of an additional €70 per night security deposit. Elevators are very small and slow. A couple of times we opted to take the stairs. Bed was uncomfortable. Hallways have a very strong marijuana scent. I understand it's part of the Amsterdam culture but this was overwhelming. Air-conditioning wasn't great. You could definitely find some where better for the money you pay.

Beautiful hotel, extremely clean and very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were tastefully decorated and had everything you could want. The breakfast gave a vast selection of cooked items, cheeses, meats and fresh fruit. The free drinks hot and cold in reception along with the cakes and pastries was a lovely touch. Stayed for a long weekend while in town visiting friends. The location is perfect, the hotel and room were beautifully decorated, the view on the canal from the room was just gorgeous and I daresay I slept like a baby. I don’t know if it was sleeping next to a body of water or the mattress that did the trick, but it made my stay perfect. Staff was very polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is so visually stunning, from the front desk, to the bar seating, to the library and dining area. It’s an Instagrammers dream! The service is top notch and the daily breakfast was heavenly. It included the usual eggs, sausage, yogurt, and cereal— but also a large variety of cheese, coffee, tea, fresh baked bread, veggies and fruits, and pastries to DIE FOR! I can’t forget to mention the included Champagne. We chose this hotel for its location and we will return again for the excellent service and beautiful vibe.

Hotel Estherea was the Perfect Experience was looking for Celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Great Location, Hotel was Lovely, Staff was Friendly & Wonderful and the Breakfast Food was Delicious.

From the moment we walked into Hotel Estherea, we knew it was something special. After traveling throughout Europe for two weeks and staying in several wonderful hotels, this was hands down our favorite! Everything about this hotel was exceptional—from the beautifully decorated rooms and stunning décor to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. They truly have thought of every little detail. We especially loved the complimentary sweet treats waiting when we walked through the door. It was such a thoughtful touch that made us feel right at home. The location was absolutely perfect, making it easy to explore Amsterdam on foot. Even though we only stayed one night, we found ourselves wishing we had booked several more. A special thank you to Lucy at the front desk, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. She gave us fantastic dinner recommendations and made us feel like valued guests from the moment we arrived. Our entire family of six agreed that Hotel Estherea was our favorite hotel of the entire trip. We can't wait to return to Amsterdam and stay here again—next time for much longer! Highly recommend!

Der Parkhaus-Mitarbeiter, der abends 15 Minuten auf uns gewartet hat – der einzige Mensch im Dunstkreis dieses Hotels, der mitgedacht hat.

Management-Totalausfall. Die Zimmer sind winzig und vor allem so niedrig, dass man sich mit 1,87 m den Kopf am Kronleuchter stößt – mein 2-m-Sohn passte nicht einmal unter die Dusche, im Bad ist die Decke noch tiefer. Die Fenster liegen direkt gegenüber den Fenstern anderer Zimmer, Abstand 1–2 Meter: Privatsphäre wie im Schaufenster des Rotlichtviertels. Das Frühstück ist dürftig, ständig fehlt etwas – und serviert wird nur nach Anmeldung am Vortag, zu einem fixen Termin auf 15 Minuten genau. Urlaub mit Wecker, wie in der Kaserne. Einen Parkplatz gibt es de facto nicht (selbst ein Opel Corsa ist grenzwertig); stattdessen wird man an ein dubioses Valet-Parking vermittelt: nur Barzahlung, keine Belege, keine Garantien. Auto ans Hotel bestellt: anderthalb Stunden Wartezeit, planloses Personal – und um 20:45 Uhr der Anruf, das Parkhaus schließe um 21 Uhr. Davon hatte uns nie jemand erzählt; wir mussten eine Veranstaltung in einer anderen Stadt abbrechen. Beim Check-out weigerte sich der Manager grundlos, 500-Euro-Scheine anzunehmen – Originalton: „Das habe ich so entschieden, und ich will mit Ihnen nicht diskutieren." Vier Zimmer, vier Nächte – nie wieder.

A simply lovely boutique hotel - beautiful decor, welcoming staff and adorable cat ambassadors Wimmel and Glacier. Well located for exploring. Each room is quirky and different, and you can also partake in complimentary snacks and hot drinks in a cosy lounge. We treated ourselves to an Estherea experience and it was worth thd cost.

The best experience. The location of the hotel is perfect. In a very charming part of Amsterdam. The room is so beautifully decorated. And clean and the size is good. The service is very friendly . Highly recommended.

The hotel is situated in an ideal location for sightseeing. Our canal view room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Front desk staff members were friendly. We would return to this hotel again.

Really lovely hotel, we had 2 rooms and enjoyed seeing the different decor. The lobby cats were a hit with our children. The complimentary snacks and beverages were a nice treat.

The location is in the Nine Streets District, on the Singel Canal, and therefore convenient for restaurants, shopping, walking, and sightseeing. The interior was extravagant, flowery, with chandeliers, and fun to see. There are two elevators and AC. The breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. I recommend a room with a canal view if available.

This is an upscale area but the immediate neighborhood was a little seedy. Not dangerous, but there was some graffiti on nearby buildings and a trashy area a few doors down. The hotel is not responsible for this and I saw other hotels with similar problems. It is the nature of Amsterdam.

La decoración del hotel nos gustó muchísimo, todo muy hermoso. La habitación era pequeña pero muy hermosa.

Me hubiera gustado que algún integrante del personal hubiese hablado en español. También que el café que brindan en la recepción, que está muy bueno que lo brinden, pero solía salir demasiado aguado y sin sabor.

Perfect location to shops, cafes and canals. The breakfast was perfect. We loved the complimentary coffee station and treats in the welcome area. We used the car service through the hotel for pick up/drop off to airport and it was so convenient and the drivers were so kind.
