Location suited our requirement and had dinner and breakfast available on site, complimented with a bar service with good selection of drinks.

Dinner was below par and breakfast was not much better.

Food was average at best, room was clean but bed very hard and walls thin, so noise travelled from other rooms.

It was a reasonable price, given we booked with very little notice in August. The room was tired and basic but had the essentials.

The most annoying thing was that the light for the bathroom was by the front/room door, not by the bathroom, which is particularly frustrating in the middle of the night.

The food was fine. The location is a bit remote.

Having read a few adverse comments about this hotel we were a little sceptical about what we were going to experience. On arrival we received a very warm reception from the receptionist. Check in was very efficient. We were allocated room 36 on the ground floor. The bedroom was large,clean and fresh with a large, very comfortable bed. The ensuite bathroom was clean with a good shower although the shower cubicle may be considered by some to be a little on the small side. In the restaurant, staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Both evening meal and breakfast were good, hot and wholesome. We found this hotel to be of good value and were delighted that we chose to stay here. We would highly recommend to others and if we were looking for somewhere to stay in the Newtonmore area in the future, we would certainly stay again in the 'Highlander Hotel@

Everything was as we would have liked or expected for the money we paid. No adverse comments whatsoever.

Whole place felt very cheap, walls seemingly made of balsa wood as there was zero sound proofing. Bed not that comfy.

It’s in a beautiful scenic area and could be made into a beautiful hotel.

Got noisy with guests in other rooms

Camere molto accoglienti, pulite ed ampie. Bagno nuovo, con comoda doccia. Fornitura di biancheria da camera, asciugamani e prodotti da bagno compresa nel prezzo. Reception aperta fino a tardi.

Bar area is a little stark and uninviting. Communal spaces are all very clean but a little dated/tired

Erittäin siisti ja viihtyisä hotelli. Huoneet olivat ihanat ja sängyt todella mukavat. Aamiainen oli herkullinen ja monipuolinen, vaikka ruuhka-aikaan osa tuotteista pääsi hetkellisesti loppumaan. Ilmainen pysäköinti oli suuri plussa. Majoittuisimme täällä mielellämme uudelleen.

Booked 3 rooms - had to give back room 122 as an awful smell. Hotel very busy - we were a party of 4 adults and 2 children so we had 2+1 child in each room. Reception apologised for the smell. Other 2 rooms were spotlessly clean. All staff were fabulous. Couldn’t do enough for us. Great service.

L’établissement est bien situé , propre. (La salle de bain venait d’être refaite à neuve) . Le petit déjeuner copieux et à la carte . Le service et l’amabilité des serveurs , remarquable .

L’insonorisation des cloisons de la chambre était perfectible . Nos voisins de chambre se sont mis à discuter pour je ne sais quelle raisons à 5h du matin . On n’aurait pu si je parlais le japonais ou le chinois , participer ..pour l’insonorisation . A refaire . Ils serait bon peut être de rappeler aux clients le respect du voisine l’orque l’on dort à l’hôtel . Trop souvent oublié.

The evening meal was disappointing. Parking is a problem if coming back in the evening. Rooms were noisy due to creaky floorboards and low ceilings.

The Highland Games were interesting. Food was OK, Service sometimes a bit slow.8

Es war sauber und groß, viel Personal, es wird sich bei Fragen sofort gekümmert! Topp!

Ein schönes Hotel am Rande des Cairngorms Nationalparks mit sehr sauberen Zimmern. Es hat einen urigen, leichten 80er Jahre Stil, der uns aber sehr gefallen hat. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Frühstück simpel, aber sehr lecker. Parkplatz war ebenfalls verfügbar.

Bed was very hard and walls are very thin we had a couple next door and you could hear every word they were saying (which was weel after midnight which didn't help) Breakfast was a bit of a let down we have stayed here alot over the years and you used to get a full breakfast including black pudding & haggis where as now it was 1 slice of bacon, 1 sausage, 1 egg and potato, Could do with the bar opening earlier especially in the summer

Troosteloze kamers ,1 lampje naast het bed en je moest aan het bolletje draaien voor aan en uit ,deur die niet goed sloot,2 x open blijven staan, putten in het matras en een erg klein bed ,avond eten ronduit slecht, ontbijt echt karig en de donkere dame loopt rond als een kip zonder kop en alles wat ze doen is totaal niet efficiënt !!!

Extend the dinner hours 19.30 to 20.30 with last orders at 20.15 was extremely tight when coming off the ferry from Lewis in Ullapool.
