Hotel Meurice

It was all good.

I hoped dinner would be served but we had to go out to get dinner. The magnificent dining hall is only used for breakfast.

Exceptionally polite personnel! Helpfull and willing to explain about the city etc.

The hotel is old and kind of abandoned.

The staff were lovely . The secure parking underneath hotel is good as the area is ruff

The smell as soon as you enter this place it’s like old and musty. This hotel is like stepping into a time warp it’s actually very creepy

Breakfast was excellent. The hotel rooms are looking very tired although they appear to be having a makeover, the bathroom was modern and the bed was very comfortable.The reception is very impressive and has looked the same for years.

Lighting in the bedroom was very poor and it was a room that could be used by 4 people - already made up so made it feel cramped. The wardrobe was tiny although I expect most people stay only one night if heading back to UK

Staff very helpful, lovely building in a great location. The free bus from outside the ferry terminal drops you off very close to the hotel. It is close to bars and Calais train station.

Minor thing but would be better if the curtains were thicker to stop light coming in early morning.

Ich das haus ist stilvoll, die Zimmer schön, das Bett sehr gro und die Kissen hochwertig. Schön war: unser Hund war willkommen. Das Personal sehr nett und hildbereit. Wir waren nun schon uum zeeiten Mal im Hotel Meurice und kommen gewiss wieder.

L'emplacement au centre de la ville, le cachet de l'hôtel, l'accueil et la literie. Bon petit déjeuner, fromages classiques, j'aurai aimé des fromages de la région.

C'était agréable !

L'emplacement et la possibilité de prendre le petit déjeuner dans la chambre.

La tapisserie de la chambre se décollait, le carrelage de la salle de bain autour de la baignoire manquait par endroit. La moquette de l'ascenseur était immonde et un sofa était déchiré dans le hall à notre étage.

Très bon séjour dans cet hôtel plein de charme au coeur de Calais. Le personnel est très agréable et souriant, la chambre était tout aussi charmante. Un très bon petit déjeuner dans une salle à manger magnifique.

Nous avons choisi de prendre une place de parking. Lorsque nous sommes rentrés dans le parking, il restait deux places, heureusement car l'une d'elle me semble être très compliquée à utiliser. Je ne vois pas comment on peut s'y garer à moins d'être le premier arrivé et le dernier parti. Cela ne nous a pas impacté mais comme le parking est payant, je conseillerais aux voyageurs de se renseigner auprès du personnel.

Staff were incredible, room was booked last minute and they were so accommodating. Such a great night's sleep for us all too. The reception team helped us book our car in for new tyres after breaking down. Great hotel.

L accueil était plutôt chaleureux et la façade de l hôtel donnait envie.

Déception quand au lieu,une fois la porte de la chambre franchie.Vraiment besoin d une bonne rénovation ! C'est très vieillot , mauvaise connexion,la télé ne cessait de s éteindre . Poussière...de plus , réveillée plusieurs fois par le sani broyeur de la chambre voisine Grosse déception pour 168€

Very warm welcome and efficient check in process including parking our car in the hotel garage. Good shower rooms. 24 hour concierge so no worries about access after going out. Location close to the town centre and restaurants was good. Breakfast was reasonable in terms of quality and choice.

Quite tricky to park in the garage if you have a long car. Our rooms were adequate for a single night stay but were quite small and not very well appointed for the price. They were also airless/difficult to ventilate; fortunately it wasn’t too hot when we were there.

At last we've found a lovely Oasis in Calais which is from a better time

We hadden de laadpaal voor de auto in de garage van het hotel gebruikt. Hier zijn zonder vooraf ons hierover in te lichten enorme kosten voor gerekend. #x startkosten van 8,21 en daarna laadkosten maar ook blokkeerkosten voor dezelfde tijd als voor het laden. Plus 13 euro om in de garage te kunnen staan. Totale kosten laden 10 uur kwam op €107,24

Très bel hôtel art deco avec une décoration raffinée. De beaux espaces intérieurs et une chambre très spacieuse avec une grande salle de bains. Tout le charme des palaces d’autrefois. Parking gratuit dans l’établissement

La courtoisie et la chaleur de l’accueil. La splendeur des différents espaces de l’hôtel, qui pour le temps d’un séjour trop court nous fait rêver et nous transporte dans les temps heureux d’autrefois et nous éloigne des tracasseries de la vie d’aujourd’hui. Et l’élégance des directeurs de l’établissement, dont le professionnalisme rejaillit manifestement sur leurs équipes.

Comfortable room with a bath which we like and quiet night. I like the little extras like bottled water, comb etc and the bed feels luxurious. Staff. As always v welcoming

The breakfast was very good! Lots of options, very fresh and yummy. We loved how the hotel looked as well, the style was so nice! The employees were very kind as well. The location was perfect- close to the city as well as to the beach

The room was a bit small, and the walls are a bit thin. You can hear when someone passes in the halls.

Very welcoming staff and fantastic location. We only stayed one night and had a “suite” for 4. It was very clean. The facilities and hotel feel a little old fashioned but everything essential is there. It’s important to book breakfast not to be disappointed!

Hotel is very dated, musty, corridors are dark and not lit up, only with motion sensing. Sometime the toilet light would just out in its own

It is so much in need of decoration and modernisation I don’t know where to begin. The room was grim, a leftover from the 1970s.

For the length of my stay, it was adequate, nothing really stood out.

Fast check-in and check-out. The room was quiet and the staff was helpful and nice. The breakfast was decent, but pretty basic.

At 38°C outside, there was no AC. The warmth is unbearable for a baby. The place could also use some maintenance. The pillows weren't cleaned only the outside cover.

The beds were super-comfortable and the breakfast was excellent- cooked breakfast very good and cheeses, bread, croissants etc were exceptional. Staff efficient, friendly and helpful. Very well set up for families (suites with double bedroom, twin bedroom and loo/bath/shower). Dog friendly with lovely park 2mins away. Historic hotel in quiet, safe but central area. Highly recommend.

Ce n'est qu'un hôtel 3 étoiles qui se prend pour un palace ! Personnel désagréable, petit déjeuné hors de prix, pas de parking de disponibilite le jour de notre arrivée même pour une personne handicapée... Rapport qualité-prix quasi nul, a éviter.

Es ist ein altes Hotel, sehr hübsch aber eben auch mit eigenem angerichtet, ohne Klimaanlage, ohne Kühlschrank und es ist halt alles etwas älter.

Je zou hopen dat er een luchtverissing zou zijn. Aan de kant waar wij sliepen was het erg warm. Gordijnen ontbraken. Kast op de kamer was iets te veel massa.

Für eine Suite mit 2 Schlafzimmern glatt gelogen. Die Schlafzimmer waren nicht getrennt.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Terrasse, sehr schön, das Bett sehr bequem. Die Lage absolut ruhig. Parkplatz vorhanden. Das Hotel ist in dem kriegsgeschundenen Calais ein bemühter Versuch, die Geschichte von der Kaiserzeit aufleben zu lassen. Manches wirkt skurril mit diesem Gegensatz von heute.

Es macht einen traurig, zu realisieren, wie dieses Hotel vor dem Krieg ein Prachtbau gewesen sein muss und jetzt mit rudimentärer historischer Ausstattung in einem Betonpalast untergebracht ist. Es ist bei Weitem nicht alles stilecht, aber was soll man machen....

We booked parking which was very important to us and received confirmation that we had a space, but arrived to be told there was no available parking. We were also given the smallest room in the hotel and asked for a better room on our second stay only to be given an identical room. When we raised the issue, the staff were defensive and unhelpful to the point of rudeness. Have stayed a few times, but will not stay again particularly given that the parking is unreliable.

I last used the hotel Meurice some 40 years ago and it was good to see that it had still retained much of its original, and singularly French ambience. The receptionist was very helpful indeed and it was overall very pleasant to remember how individual some few French hotels have remained.

A bidet would have been nice.

The location and free parking outside were both a win.

My room didn’t have a hairdryer and there were no spares.

Staff was so helpful and kind. The hotel is old but clean and has a very nice old feeling. So comfortable, clean with great amenities. Lovely hotel, amazing staff. Breakfast was nice, the lovely receptionist make me eggs and fixed the coffee machine in a minute, so lovely and welcoming. Also free to park on the street.

A very warm welcome from the two receptionists led on to a comfortable, well equipped room with a good roll-down shutter that would give total blackout if required. The choice at breakfast was excellent. Lots of free parking outside the hotel which is in a quiet street in the town centre.

A very small and amusing thing is the seagulls calling from daybreak which woke us up but with the window closed it would be almost unheard.

The staff were lovely and the rooms were lovely and clean

I could here the people in the room next door quite easily. I could even hear them clearly spraying deodorant or something similar. Which meant they would have been able to hear us easily.. Especially the toilet flushing 😳 🤣
