This is the best located accommodation in Huntington Beach. One block to all amenities and over the road from the pier. Every day there is a free happy hour of various wines and cocktails which makes the outdoor courtyard setting feel like a club

Close (walking distance) to the Beach restaurants Pier and a short drive to Disneyland. Ambience nostalgic vibes. Bicycles surfboards beach chairs etc available.

The best stay I have ever had at any hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were super clean and everything seemed new, cool amenities like the outdoor lounge with fire pits. The location is perfect right across from the beach and a dog bakery. Dog beach nearby and incredibly accommodating with our dogs. They provided food and water bowls, toys and treats.

Nothing. Everything was awesome. we enjoyed our stay and had a great staycation. Nothing bad to say about the Kimpton Huntington. Love love loved it.

Beach Front. Right above HQ Gastropub when you need it. This is a beautiful modern and lively hotel and hotel experience. The rooms are immaculate and being close to the beach and the pier is always a plus main street is just around the corner and the beach is just across the street.

A bit pricey but beach close is premium.

Wow. The staff at this place is embarrassing. They sealed the deal. I will never come back. After booking my trip and paying in full online, when my family arrived they recharged us 1100 dollars. When we asked why, they said we hadn't paid. So we showed them the receipt and logged into the online banking and showed them we paid 100 percent upfront a week ago. Then it was "oh the employee made a mistake. But rest assured you were refunded" its a week now with them holding my money. We dealt with the managers after almost begging to speak a to them. They're never available and will almost always claim they re in meeting. I would like my 1100 bucks back. They are blaming my bank and I have verified with them multiple times. Not to mention I have used this bank 3 or 4 other times at this dump. Never had an issue. Give me my money back.

We checked into the Kimpton after a few days stay at the Fairmont in Long Beach. A completely different level of hotel and experience. But it should be noted our experience at the Fairmont was not nearly as stellar. First, let me say that the staff at the Kimpton is wonderful and the little fun touches make this property a solid winner. From the valet, to the front desk, to the restaurant and housekeeping staff we had exceptional service. The vibe was happy & fun. Warm cookies delivered to our room (thank you, Faith), nightly cocktail reception, games, s’more’s, beach equipment…..they have it all, in an ideal location. The restaurant and bar serve delicious and creative fare and our daily breakfast was a standout culinary experience. The only hicup was on the last morning when the shower drain was filling with water and a strong odor filled the room. We had a flight to catch and could not shower. A minor inconvenience but again the staff shined. Bradley at the front desk apologized and made a couple adjustments to our bill for the inconvenience. We didn’t have to ask, he was just happy to accommodate. This would be a great hotel for a family vacation!

Our server, Destini at breakfast was so chill and sweet! The food was really good, the room was great, the whole enchilada was great! 10/10 will be back again!

This place has VERY friendly staffs. They've made our stay stress free. My room was up graded to a ocean view. My lovely niece and I had bounding time on the balcony. She's enjoying her private balcony with a cheese & ham Danish & a coke while dancing. It has different games and experiences for you to try or to enjoy them while you are here for work or leisure. I definitely will be back with my family to enjoy this peaceful place in CA.

Upon Check in….Jessica was very welcoming. She told me about all the wonderful perks the hotel has to offer. I had been upgraded via IHG to a King Studio….but asked if even a smaller room….would like some form of view. She Che led and saw something was available available. She treated me like she valued my IHG Platinum status. Her professionalism in handling resolution to my humble request left a great impression. My stay was great in ways more than one.

Such a great family getaway! We’re absolutely loving the Shorebreak and the laid-back California vibe, beautiful rooms, amazing service and the perfect location steps from the beach and Huntington Beach Pier. It really has that true Southern California feel. We’re already saying we can’t wait to come back!

We are at the on site restaurant, Pacific Hideaway, and it was so good! It was one of our most favorite meals of our trip. Our server Destini was so wonderful. We tried her suggestions and they were all fantastic! The ambiance was so cool. Love this place!

I cannot say enough about this property and especially the staff you have at this property. From the front desk staff, to the valets, to the room attendants everything was 5 star. The breakfast was simply amazing - highly recommended. Lastly I have to single out Arturo at the front desk. He was so helpful from check in and throughout our stay. Coming to the Kimpton for the first time did not disappoint. Just can’t say enough. Kudos, well done

Kel at the front desk is the most amazing hospitality professional I've ever encountered. I've traveled the world and stayed in so many hotels. Never have I worked with such an amazingly thorough and courteous person. Staying at the Shorebreak, we fell in love with a specific piece of art on the wall. I use chat gbt I used Google image search I used everything I could think of and could not find this art or a supplier who potentially may have created this and it even turns out that it was previously from the hotel before kimpton remodeled so couldn't even figure out who the art vendor was. Kel track down the exact piece for me!!!! This will always be my place to come stay in Huntington Beach I used to live here and when I come back I will always stay at this hotel so thank you Kel!!

Perfect location, beach is right across street and tons of food options within walking distance. The staff bends over backwards to make sure you enjoy your stay. Super chill, beach vibe. Rooms are just the right size and comfortable, also very quiet Bang for your buck with easy beach access, amenities the hotel offers and friendliness if staff. Only place we stay when in Huntington.

The location could not be more perfect. It is on the main strip in walking distance to many restaurants and shops not to mention directly across from the beach. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. Clean, comfortable and spacious accommodations. Full complimentary coffee bar in the morning was a great perk.

The hotel was beautiful. We did not stay but we did dine for brunch. Food was great, drinks were even better! Destini was an incredible waitress. Can’t say enough good things about her Thank you Destini!

This hotel has a unique surfer vibe. They serve free cold pizza in the morning next to the coffee and tea. The staff is very welcoming and the food/drinks are tasty in the restaurant. Really close to many food options, the beach, and events. If you're exhausted after traveling they will park your car and take your bags to your room. They run a pretty tight ship.

This is 3rd year that I have made reservation for this hotel. I'd like to "Thanks" everybody (staff at front desk, cleaning / engineering crew,etc) for their excellent job, kindness, ready to help visitors day by day very busy season. Best Mina

This is our first time to stay in this hotel and we are celebrating my mom’s birthday at 95 years old! We would love to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Mr Travis and Mr Bradley! Very friendly staff! Close to everything. A lot of amenities (a lot of hotels are getting rid of them) I have been coming for at least 10 years and it doesn’t disappoint!

Huntington Beach location is ideally situated half a block from the beach the hotel is well stocked with all the amenities Plus fun happy hour with wine beers and hors d'oeuvres along with ping pong and bean bag toss games for the little ones I have to shout out to Jesse at the front desk for sending our families Sweet Treats as they ran out the first day they made a special delivery in our rooms the next day.

Our stay at the Shorebreak was incredible. The room with an amazing view of the pier was perfect, all staff was kind and helpful. The whole vibe of the hotel was fun, yet relaxing. The food and service at the restaurant was outstanding, especially Destini. She took the time to chat with us and make suggestions of all the local favorites. This was a great anniversary get away and we are truly looking forward to another stay.

The view from the oceanfront room and location of this hotel was amazing! I especially want to thank both Victor and Jess! Victor was our server at the hotel’s Pacific Hideaway restaurant, and he was just wonderful! He went above and beyond to make sure our service was part of the great experience. Also, Jess was such a ray of light at the front desk! She was able to help us with any question or need we had, and was so friendly and positive. Thank you for a great stay!

Let me start by saying that I love the location and service, however…we couldn’t get the streaming to work after repeated tries and facilities guys coming to the room. Front desk was amazing. The Pacific Hideaway restaurant has great food (the ceviche and burger are both delicious). The service at the restaurant was mixed. Not super attentive, but got the job done. Unfortunately there was a tap (think tap shoes, not the fun beer kind) festival while we were here (super loud in the room and we weren’t told about this prior to arrival). Made it difficult to sleep in during the morning hours. Overall, I might give it another chance, but will most likely lean toward another property. It’s unfortunate. I stayed here years ago and love it.

It's not pool and the rooms are very expensive .the Mexican lady the housekeeper is very rude .that chubby housekeeper was very rude .we asked for help and she sent us to the basement she was yelling at us like we must know the exits and entrances .the rest of the staff Anna Manuela Mario and Bradley and Jessie they cool 😎 The food by Mario lopez was good the steak the tacos the meat very chewy and gummy the water taste bad but the rest it's cool .overpriced in my opinion .raise the workers salary please 🙏🏻 This place need a hot tub and a spa I like the dogs all over the hotel that's the best part my dog is happy here . The valet guys are friendly specifically Thomas from Illinois very cool man .

Location across the street from the Iconic Huntington Beach. Having one of the truly “ocean view” king rooms. Valet with in-and-out privileges is GREAT. King room is large with desk and panoramic view of the ocean. Large soaking tub in room. Located in downtown HB with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

The downside of the ocean view room is having to cope with the incessant car and motorcycle noise on Pacific Coast Highway. Closing the sliding glass door to the small balcony stops 90+ percent of this noise. When booking, specify that you want a room facing PCH and the beach/ pier. Otherwise, you will get a room with a partial or NO ocean view. The hotel is square, with only one side facing the Pacific Ocean.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Fenster in den Innenhof - da wurde leider bis spät in der Früh doch sehr laut Musik gespielt / an Einschlafen war kaum zu denken. Fürs Wochenende wäre dies noch eher akzeptabel, aber unter der Woche sollte die Musik früher abgedreht werden.

This Kimpton checked the boxes with location and hospitality. You cannot beat being across the street from Huntington Beach. I mean a stones throw away! It was so convenient to be at the beach within a few minutes of walking. And, though we had a mixup with my room upgrade after check-in (I inquired about an upgrade via phone a couple of days before arrival. As an IHG Diamond Ambassador, the hotel promised an oceanfront view.), the view was still great. It wasn’t oceanfront, but the side view of the beach with the huge balconey made up for it so I never brought up the mix up with the front desk. But, what blew me away was Bradley at the front desk! I don’t think I’ve ever encountered such hospitality before. He and housekeeping were so fast in delivering the extra luggage racks and room slippers that I requested to my room. Although they could not find room slippers initially, Bradley and Housekeeping were on the hunt for them and were determined to deliver them to me asap. Customer service at the hotel restaurant and parking valet were fantastic, too! The only issue at this Kimpton was the wear and tear to the bathroom and carpets. However, this hotel is at a prime location so I understand why there’s wear and tear.

WOW! Visit HB multiple times a year and religiously stay at Hy@tt. This time the company asked us to book elsewhere, and I knew the minute I walked in the Kimpton that I would NEVER stay anywhere else again! Although, while walking in the door hooked me, it was the experience and the people that will keep me going and made me a lifetime customer. As I walked into the Kimpton I was shocked with all the activity. Bikes and Scooters to rent, people playing ping-pong and air hockey, a filled bar/restaurant, families picking up the S'mores packets from the front desk for the fire pits. Not to mention the PERFECT location, right in the middle of it all. Just a short walk, a block down, to the pier, all the restaurants and shops, and the huge farmers market on Tuesday! Sure the other resort is nice, but in the end, your just getting the resort... this place is in the middle of it all and it was all walkable. I was greeted right away with two of the most genuine and gracious people I have ever met – Arturo (Nav.) and Ana (Swa.)! I hope the two of you are able to read this. Your kindness brought me to tears! For that check in, and really the entire stay, I felt like a queen! How they managed to make a regular customer feel so important, like I mattered so greatly, is still mind blowing.. I couldn’t help but think that these two needed to teach customer service. Yes, they upgraded my room (not expected) and gave me a drink voucher while I waited for it to be serviced, but it was more than that. I felt like I made two new friends!! They I knew I was there for work, but my face must have read “please let me find some time to relax”. Halfway in my stay, I come back from dinner to find a bottle of wine, cookies, brownies, and a note – from Arturo and Ana. “Angela, we hope you’re relaxed and rested, as you deserve! Here are some treats to sweeten up your stay!! Ana / Arturo”. I wish so much that I could share every detail of this stay! I’ll just say that I have NEVER in my career had a “relaxing” work trip and thank you from the bottom of my heart to Ana, Arturo, Daniel – the AMAZING bartender, Josh (who came in on his day off), and Jackie, there rockstar manager for giving me this amazing gift! The vibe in the style was absolutely the best we’ve ever seen. It was beautiful. It was interesting but very relaxed and beachy all at the same time. Super cool place! We will definitely be back to enjoy the whole hotel. We went for a business event and didn’t have much time to enjoy the property because we were pretty hung over the next day lol!

Highly recommend. The hotel has a great SoCal beach vibe. The room is bright and clean. There’s an outdoor area with firepits with smores in the evening, bikes to cruise along the beach path, and complimentary coffee and tea every morning. Great views of the beach and pier from the beach front balcony. Room service was good. Walking distance to many local bars, restaurants, shops, etc. Would definitely return.

Spent two wonderful days at this hotel with my three kids, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and professionalism. The front desk staff truly set the tone for our stay, Arturo was absolutely amazing, incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel instantly at home. He is a keeper! Every interaction, whether at the front office or the restaurant, was pleasant and seamless. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our family was comfortable and enjoying our time. One of my favorite moments was seeing my youngest happily riding his scooter provided at the hotel, along the boardwalk, such a simple joy, but it made our stay even more special and family-friendly. Another mention to Travis who was in charge of making my reservation and made me feel at home even before arriving. We left with great memories and a deep appreciation for the outstanding service. I love the fact that you could check out bikes records, and scooters. I loved the 5-6pm social hour. I loved how clean everything was and the staff were amazing!

We hated the beds. Both of us had major back pain. Too soft, not firm enough. I was a little disappointed with housekeeping. We didn’t get towels every day, I realize cleaning is every other day but the towels not being refreshed and having to call for them isn’t great customer device in that department.

Whenever we go to Huntington Beach, the Kimpton Shorebreak is the only place! We stay! Our most recent stay was to celebrate our 37th year anniversary. And as usual, the Shorebreak was amazing. The staff is always so kind and attentive. They even sent some goodies and a bottle of wine to our room, along with a card, for our anniversary. We love the hotel amenities, especially the s'mores at the end of the day! The make any occasion a very special one! Special thanks to Ana and Spencer, you made our anniversary memorable! We stayed in the suite overlooking the ocean. Fabulous view. Proximity to the beach, venues, stores, can't be beat. The staff was great and very welcoming . A welcome snack tray was in the room. A nice personal touch. I've been here about 6 or 7 times over the past 6 months. Wish can have the suite every stay

From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional and the entire team made me feel welcomed and celebrated. A huge thank you to Jackson, Arturo, and Spencer for going above and beyond. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made my birthday feel memorable in the best way. It’s rare to come across a team that cares this much about the guest experience, and they absolutely delivered. The location near the beach, the vibe of the hotel, and the outstanding service made this the perfect place to celebrate. I left feeling appreciated and already looking forward to returning. Great location so close to the beach and All of the local eateries!! Clean rooms with a balcony. Nice retro type vibes at the Boutique Hotel. Record players and old time sounds are some of the artifacts! A dog lovers paradise! The 4 legged pets are treated just as well as the human guests!! lol! Although I’m not a dog “lover” I did admire the care and concern of the staff and guests that had their pets .

Booked through a third party, when we arrived we had a king bedroom and needed 2 queens. Jordan at the front desk took care of us and made the switch into an upgraded room simple and easy. Making a stressful travel day turn into an inviting no hassle check in. Thank you Jordan.

Ms. Anna Beachner supremely deserves to be recognized for her outstanding customer service, superb communication skills and overall top-notch service during my recent visit to your beautiful property, Kimpton Shorebreak Resort in Huntington Beach. She went well above and beyond to ensure that we were shown the right amount of attention, loyalty recognition, and most importantly how Ms. Anna ensured that my wife's birthday was recognized as well. She provided numerous opportunities to the amenities at your resort, kept us up-to-date with the room key issues, and further went above and beyond by her personal actions to ensure that my wife's needs were met.

We just got home. We travel worldwide and as always this hotel is our favorite anywhere. The location is great right across the street from the beach and pier. The hotel has a great vibe and open air floor plan. So many little touches like coolers in room to take to the beach. Every thing from boogie boards to bikes available for the asking. It is so lovely to be back at my favorite Kimpton property in the United States! This boutique hotel makes you feel right at home, and the staff is like a family. Right across from the beach, near the pier, and tucked away just enough to feel cozy. Everyone was awesome, as always, but a special shout out to Jessica at the front desk. My husband and I were stuck in LA for a few extra days due to flight cancellations. We decided to stay at the Kimpton, and after seeing the property, didn’t want to leave! The hotel had a really unique vibe with great amenities including infused water, coffee/tea in the morning, and a beautiful courtyard. The king suite was a great set-up for working, and the location across from the pier/beach was perfect. Bradley at reception made us feel welcome and well cared for. Highly recommend!

I made my reservations directly at the hotel through Jordan at the front desk. She was very welcoming and genuinely cared about my stay and helping me to have a very positive experience with my dog. This is an updated review after we’ve had a couple more stays here as a family. The vibe is fantastic and the hotel has an incredibly friendly, tenured staff. The location is fantastic and the hotel is very much a reflection of the community that it resides in, this is uncanny, and very rare! And I have now been corrected by my sister, the record players in the rooms actually work! They are not “nonsensical” decorations that take up space” as I had previously mentioned on an older review that I have now deleted, my bad! The water pressure isn’t great in the showers, but so be it. They blame this on “California code”, but I’ve stayed at dozens of other hotels within California with no issue. But that said, it’s not a dealbreaker. You can’t go wrong booking here if you want to stay in Huntington Beach. They have free afternoon beer and wine etc. - who else does that?! They also are very pet friendly. I apologize for the review that I did a year and a half ago; it was not thoughtful. I’m grateful for this neighborhood hotel and I highly recommend it.

From the moment we walked in and had an encounter with Anna at the front desk- the experience just kept getting better and better. The availability of room options, the amenities, the dining experiences. I would return here over and over again over the local competition. The hospitality and accommodations are off the chain! This place is built for hanging out! ping pong, games, and social vibes with happy hours running all day. The staff is awesome, the restaurant and bar are solid, and you’re right next to all the action. I stayed in a studio suite and the room was super clean with a soaking tub and a Dyson hair dryer, which was a nice upgrade from the usual hotel setup. Easily the best IHG hotel I’ve ever stayed at and an easy yes for a return trip.

I am a manager of high end vacation rentals. Service here is exceptional. Shout out to Bradley, Jordan and Kell. They really took care of us and our special needs dog. Hotel is pricey. There are alot of additional taxes and costs but worth it. An exceptional experience! Location is perfect too!

We had a wonderful stay at the Kimpton Shorebreak and everyone we encountered was incredibly kind and welcoming. We had asked about a possible room upgrade, and Bradley went above and beyond to help us with a truly beautiful upgrade for my birthday weekend :) From the moment we arrived he made us feel at home and genuinely honored as guests. His kindness, professionalism and care made our stay feel special rather than routine. Bradley is a standout, and the entire staff contributed to a memorable, comfortable experience. room was clean the bedding was amazing. We will absolutely stay her again.

Our dinner was extra special because Lauren was super attentive to our needs. The food was excellent as was her service.We are newlyweds and the manager Paul was kind and hospitable and helped us have a special evening as well! We will be back again and again. We have always liked The Shorebreak Restaurant, now we Love it!

Location, very comfortable beds, quiet rooms, unexpected amenities (S’more kits for the outdoor fire pits, loaner bicycles, and other fun touches), helpful staff.

Curtains need to be cleaned. They are dusty at the top.

This was the first time I've ever stayed at a Kimpton! I've stayed at other IHG properties, but this was so different compared to those. Less corporate, more fun, and more relaxing. From the check in experience (shout out to Carly and Jordan!) to the checkout experience, I kept running into pleasant surprises! Like the free smores, the bikes, the location, even the gym! I can't wait to go back with my family and would highly recommend others to give this Kimpton a go! Looking forward to the next one!

Super nice helpful staff members. Carly, Spencer and Jordan went overboard to make us feel at home and welcome. The hotel was clean and we kept saying to each other how good the place smelled. Our room was really nice and the decor was beachy and comfortable.i would definitely recommend to all my friends. Look for Carly. She is sweet and has a great attitude. She is an asset to the hotel! 5 stars!!!!!

The location was lovely - great proximity to the beach.

My room was very noisy. It overlooked the courtyard so there was a lot of noise from the bar down below (I should have known because there was a white noise machine in the room and I should have asked to be moved to a different room). Then at 2:30am the fire alarm strobe light went off in my room (and apparently only my room). I got up got dressed and opened my door only to discover there was so emergency. The whole purpose of my stay was to get a good night’s sleep and I was not able to accomplish that. And the hotel did not offer me anything to accommodate this experience.

Anna was super accommodating, had a great time. Great location, also super nice sun and the food in the area is outstanding.
